Awesome Kylie, love it! And now we can understand both these sides of us, they are reconciled and all our destructive behaviour that resulted is obsoleted! It really is the true healing ‘holy grail’ of understanding that we’ve always hoped and dreamed of!!
You’ve grasped the fundamental point Naresh that this biological explanation of the human condition is the full compassionate and liberating understanding of ourselves, and as you say does not condemn humanity but finally provides the complete defence for and love of our upset state. So we don’t have to live in denial any more as you perfectly name the subject of this post. It’s absolutely true that with this understanding of ourselves, there aren’t any truths that condemn or hurt us now that we can understand the human condition and the magnificent and meaningful journey we have all been on. So you just hang on to and don’t move from that wonderful access that you have!
Historically, while we didn’t have understanding, these truths, such as the importance of nurturing, have been unbearably confronting and until you realise as you have, that we no longer have to deny them but can now safely confront them, it can feel very exposing, challenging and hurtful. There certainly is a massive shock of change for most of us to have the ‘blinds drawn’, as it were, on human behaviour, and there is a lot to adjust to.
I felt it was important also to add the context to the quote that you use from Jeremy, which is actually from ‘Freedom Expanded 1’. He writes straight after the quote you use that: “It is only now with the ability to understand that there has been a good reason why nurturing has been so compromised that the truth of the importance of nurturing becomes at all bearable, but even with that understanding the truth of the importance of nurturing is one of those truths that people won’t be able to fully confront for a few generations. The fact is that since the upset battle of the human condition emerged no child has been able to be given the amount of love that all children received before the battle imposed itself. While nurturing created an integrated humanity—gave our species its instinctive orientation to behaving unconditionally selflessly—the subsequent emergence of consciousness compelled humanity to enter into a great battle against our instinctive self or soul’s ignorance of our conscious self’s need to understand the world. That necessary consciousness-centred, ‘ego-centric’, male-led battle unavoidably intruded upon and compromised women’s ability to fully nurture their offspring.”
Jeremy also writes beautifully about this subject in paras 1244-1245 of ‘Freedom’ which I recommend everyone read, for example he writes ‘that mother is now able to understand that autism is not the fault of parents, but of the ever-increasing upset in the human race as a whole, which in turn is due to our species’ heroic search for knowledge.’ And there is a beautiful quote by Tony Gowing where he talks about the solution to the problem of exposure which is the Transformed State.
Yes Mark I agree, from what I know of it it is a frightening proposal but it’s widely accepted that UN is generally a socialist or left wing or politically correct organisation.
Jeremy writes about the United Nations in Freedom in paragraphs 50 and 1134 if you haven’t read them already. For example “The essence of the concept of The United Nations is of Nations acting strongly in a United way against what is patently ‘obscene[ly]’ wrong behaviour, but such is the lack of soundness and thus courage and character and thus resolve in the world that the concept has largely failed.” and “So the 17 goals of ‘The [United Nations’] Global Goals’ ‘Movement’ that each ‘global citizen’ and ‘every school’ is currently being told to ‘tell everyone about’ and ‘make famous’ (namely to address ‘poverty, hunger, well-being, education, gender equality, clean water, clean energy, decent work, infrastructure, inequality, sustainability, responsible consumption, climate action, life in water, life on land, peace and justice, partnerships for the goals’) hugely trivialise our species’ plight—because all these goals focus only on the symptoms of the human condition. To stop the destruction of our world and the disintegration of society that is happening everywhere we look we have to fix the cause of the problems at its source, which is us humans, our psychosis. WE are the problem; our out-of-control egocentric, selfish, competitive and ferociously vicious, mean and aggressive behaviour.” I also find Freedom Essay 14 really helpful for delineating what the WTM is about as opposed to pseudo idealism.
This biological understanding of the human condition really is the universal solution to all the problems we face, but I’ve read in Freedom that it naturally does have a slow start-up phase. That sure, it may take some time for people to realise that this is what it says it is, as with any new scientific breakthrough in history, but once this catches on — through people such as you and me recognising the importance of it — the infectious enthusiasm and selfless love it liberates will spread like wildfire and the quicker the old, insecure, egocentric way of living will lose it’s power. There’s an awesome quote in Freedom about this in 1236. It really is the advocates who win or lose the day as someone in history said, so I agree Mark we need to do all we can to get this info out there as quickly and widely spread as possible!
You won’t be disappointed Pierre! This logical rational information is everything it says it is – – it actually does explain and solve the human condition – – and it WILL lead to ‘much enlightenment’, indeed the transformation of the whole human race! It is the long dreamed of understanding of ourselves that finally brings a manual to life and makes sense of and ends all the suffering! Words really are inadequate in describing the full magnitude of Freedom! Anyway you will discover this for yourself and it’s so important that we each do just as you are doing, slowly and carefully verifying it all for ourselves. I really love how you are going about this and I really love the journey of discovery that you are starting! Can’t wait to hear the next installment…. And by the way as you would have read in the first couple of chapters, most people suffer from a huge fear and thus deaf effect to this whole subject but you’ve obviously got a real access which is really is pretty special.
Your wonderful belief in the core goodness of humans is certainly confirmed with Jeremy’s explanation of the human condition Ansam and it’s amazing that you have known about the remarkable bonobos for such a long time and revere them so much. I agree when you say that the ‘struggle of the human condition, of intellect over instinct, can only be understood and eased by the use of our intellect via reasonable thought and discourse’ and I think you will find as you absorb more of Jeremy’s explanation of the human condition that we actually are in that time right now. Our intellect can absorb this profound understanding of ourselves and know that the search for knowledge that it had to go on, and the subsequent corruption, was all so necessary and meaningful – – and importantly be finally reconciled with our loving Bonobo-like instincts.
The homepage of the WTM’s website recommends watching videos 1-4 in terms of a good introduction and I think they are very powerful and all-encompassing. In terms of how we deal with the human condition, again it’s a matter of giving yourself time to deeply absorb the implications of understanding how we humans are good when we appear to be the complete opposite. The implications are the transformation of the human race. There are a series of videos and essays that explain the transformation which start with video 5 and I see it as that now we are explained and defended and no longer have to prove our goodness and be egocentric and selfish, we can all return to a selfless existence, and that’s legitimately this time! Anyway enjoy your reading Ansam it’s all just so accountable and liberating!
Hi Ansam, there’s heaps to get your head around with this stuff in my experience. It’s been a subject we haven’t had answers to for a long time so what is being presented takes time to absorb. The human condition is certainly paradoxical as you say, being our capacity for both ‘good and evil’, and the huge breakthrough for me with Jeremy’s ideas is that is actually biologically explains and defends our ‘dark side’ which nothing has ever been able to do before. And not only that reveals us to be the most heroic and meaningful species on Earth! It explains why we are so destructive, egocentric and selfish and I really see now that until that is explained so we can honestly face it, we’re going nowhere except downhill! That’s what this information provides, it gets to the root cause of any problem you like to look at (besides natural disasters) which is the human condition and means the pain and suffering on this planet can finally come to an end. It’s just awesome stuff so I hope you keep looking into it!!
I was just reading this Essay which makes the important point very clearly that science should not abhor religion, https://www.humancondition.com/freedom-essays/is-sciences-scorn-religion-legitimate/December 15, 2019 at 10:02 am in reply to: Is this another way of getting involved with a religion?
Hi Oavs, No not at all. This is a biological explanation of the human condition, it’s all based in logical, rational knowledge. There’s no dogma, faith or belief at all, in fact this understanding brings an the end to these things, and brings the beginning of knowing. The human condition is the realm of inquiry is where science and religion overlap, so naturally in explaining the human condition the terms ‘good and evil’ and religious references will be used, and through scientific explanation, finally demystified and reconciled. It’s all verifiable stuff so just keep following your nose and it will either stack up or it won’t! Here are some FAQs that I’ve always found helpful in explaining this to others, https://www.humancondition.com/wtm-faq-is-this-some-sort-of-religion/ and https://www.humancondition.com/wtm-faq-if-biology-why-are-there-religious-references/
Wonderfully said Linda. You may have already seen this knowing your thirst for truth, but Jeremy writes about Yeats’ poem ‘The Second Coming’ in the summary booklet to Freedom, ‘Transform Your Life’. This is the section which is at the end of Part 1:
“After sending this booklet to the printers, an article from The Wall Street Journal by Ed Ballard (23 Aug. 2016) was re-printed in The Australian with the title ‘Yeats’s words suit our grim times’ (see http://www.wtmsources.com/197). Due to its confirmation of all that has just been said, we delayed the printing to allow this reference to be added. Employing the same words as I have, the article is about the now widespread ‘feeling that something appalling is around the corner’ for humanity. As evidence of that fear, Ballard cites the recent frequency of references in the media to the chilling words I’ve underlined from WB Yeats’s prophetic 1919 poem The Second Coming: ‘Turning and turning in the widening gyre / The falcon cannot hear the falconer; / Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold; / Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world, / The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere / The ceremony of innocence is drowned; / The best lack all conviction, while the worst / Are full of passionate intensity. // Surely some revelation is at hand; / Surely the Second Coming is at hand. / The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out / When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi / Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert; / A shape with lion body and the head of a man, / A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun, / Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it / Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds. / The darkness drops again; but now I know / That twenty centuries of stony sleep / Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle, / And what rough beast, its hour come round at last, / Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?’ To mention just one of Ballard’s statistics, in the first seven months of this year the line ‘The centre cannot hold’ has been used 249 times in newspapers, news sites and blogs, a figure already level with last year’s record total. Note how ‘twenty centuries of stony sleep’ echoes With Life In Mind’s ‘We’ve all been asleep since the beginning of time’. The latter part of Yeats’s poem is about the subconscious ‘nightmare’ fear all humans have of the arrival of the ‘revelation’, judgment-day, all-exposing ‘pitiless as the sun’, ‘rough [hurtful] beast’ of the truth about their massively corrupted condition, an unjustified fear that is dealt with later in Part 3. The true, contexted meaning of ‘the Second Coming’ is given in par. 1278 of FREEDOM.”
The post of Freedom didn’t come up, so I’ll post it again!!View this post on Instagram

Wow Linda yes isn’t it AMAZING what reconciling understanding brings back to Earth!! We are all brought in from the cold and lonely world of ignorance (which Richard Dawkins and those other haters of religion who misnamed themselves ‘Brights’ were misguidedly propagating) and into the healing warm sunshine of understanding and what a world it lights up!! It is indeed such a celebration for us all, in fact a celebration like the world has never seen before!! We are so lucky that YOU have come across this information and this Forum. I was looking on the WTM’s Instagram page this morning and saw these posts on some of your old visionary friends — so here’s a few ‘new world of understanding’ presents just for you and your mind that’s becoming ever-more enlightened and reconciled and liberated!! Lots and lots of good wishes and sunshine to you too Linda!View this post on Instagram

#BookRecommendation: ‘The Destiny Of Man’ (1931) by Nikolai Berdyaev who described so honestly both the agony of our ‘good-and-evil’-afflicted state and the need to resolve it: "There is a deadly pain in the very distinction of good and evil, of the valuable and the worthless. We cannot rest in the thought that that distinction is ultimate…we cannot bear to be faced with the distinction between good and evil for ever" (p.15). ____________ #destinyofman #berdyaev #nikolaiberdyaev #bestbook #democracy #philosophybooks #bookrec #bookhaul #bookstack #bookalicious #bookster #readingtime #bookthinkers #bookthinkersfamily #52booksin52weeks #bookreviews #leadersarereaders #bookclub #bookobsessed #bookcommunity #philosophy

And of course one of Jeremy’s ‘illuminated manuscript’ of FREEDOM! https://www.instagram.com/p/B5E2gIYHkyG/
It’s just so wonderful to read of your ever-growing enthusiasm for Jeremy’s breakthrough ideas Linda, and I can’t wait for you to ‘delve into the entire Freedom book’!! These beautiful and true words of yours feel like they are echoing through this whole Forum (and I hope the whole world!) ‘I am in awe of Jeremy Griffiths monumental achievement, his Holy Grail of truth. Science, art, literature, religions and philosophies all reconciled, all explicable, all amazing ventures of the trials, triumphs and tragedies of the human imagination. It is Paradise restored.’
Unlike you, I wasn’t incredibly familiar with our valuable classics but I greatly admire and cherish their great words and visions now I can understand the human condition. And the same goes with religions, with this knowledge about human behaviour now, I am very humbled at the incredibly important roles religions have played in humanity’s journey and yes I couldn’t agree more with your summary of Richard Dawkins’ ie. his ‘distorted view of religion’ and his ‘loathing and bitter condemnation of all religions are symptomatic of a vengeful, personal vendetta’. We can see how very, very wrong that view is now and as Freedom describes he is a ‘religion/truth-hater’
It really is such a celebration now that we can all biologically know our fundamental goodness, and I’m going to post on another post I saw from you now on that very celebratory topic!
It is a balance I agree Linda and I also agree that the more joy grows for this phenomenal breakthrough understanding of the human condition, this ‘central core topic’ as you say, the more the momentum will spread and help everyone. In the very inspiring Freedom Essay 57 https://www.humancondition.com/freedom-essays/the-magnificence-of-the-transformed-state-video-1/ Jeremy talks about that the joy is actually not out of place now and I just have to include an extract because it’s so good and I think you will love it!: “I know that such excitement and happiness may seem insensitive to all the suffering in the world, but this joy and enthusiasm is not out of place because ‘the cavalry is coming’—well, that is the phrase used in ‘Cowboys and Indians’ folklore; in more contemporary ‘Star Wars’ terms, ‘the Force’ is with us—everything is possible now, help is on its way to every person in every corner of the world. Love has come to the world in its absolute purest form, namely as relieving understanding. We humans are free now of the agony of the human condition. Everyone in every situation and predicament can now rise up as radiant new beings from their corpse-like state. A great rising up of humans will now occur across the world. Everyone is now able to come back to life—to wake up from a human-condition-afflicted torpor and look outwards and see each other and the world for the first time, and move across and help each other, and do anything and everything that needs doing to end the suffering and pain that plagues this planet.”
It’s true also though that most people find this information initially hard to access which for someone like you who accesses it very easily that respsone will be fairly bewildering. The whole subject of the human condition has been the most terrifying of subjects to face and people become ‘deaf’ to discussion of it, which Jeremy powerfully explains in the first video https://www.humancondition.com/freedom-essays/your-block-to-most-wonderful-gift/, and also the way for people to overcome it that fear. I’ve also learnt that although the reality is that it may take some time for people to realise that this information is what it says it is, as with any new scientific breakthrough in history, once it catches on, the infectious enthusiasm and selfless love it liberates will spread like wildfire!
I’d love to hear from you Linda as you continue to absorb everything, the journey really only gets more exciting!
Hi Linda, Hopefully RJ will enlighten us also, but I thought I’d offer a reply to your good questions too! Am loving following along with your journey.
Firstly, I love your line that ‘it seems that Prometheus, Lucifer and Adam far from committing transgressions are the heroes of the human story. It certainly relieves us of the burden of guilt, blasphemy and original sin.’ This is exactly what this understanding of the human condition brings about, and it does results in us regaining ‘paradise’ on Earth no less, amazing stuff!
I think what would help you most of all is reading either Chapter 4 of Jeremy’s book Freedom, or Freedom Essay 23, https://www.humancondition.com/freedom-essays/the-integrative-meaning-of-existence/ which brings understanding to the integrative meaning of existence and its personification as ‘God’. Jeremy explains that ‘the direction or theme or purpose or meaning of existence is the ordering or integration or complexification of matter, a process that is driven by the physical law of Negative Entropy’. Negative Entropy is the the law of physics that accounts for this integration of matter and also is known as the ‘Second Path of the Second Law of Thermodynamics’. As Jeremy explains ‘The law of Negative Entropy states that in an open system, where energy can come into the system from outside it—in Earth’s case, from the sun, and, in the case of the universe, from the original ‘big bang’ explosion that created it—matter integrates; it develops order.’ So it’s not human’s consciousness or our imaginations that are driving this order in the world but this law of physics.
In regard to Joseph Campbell, Jeremy has him listed as an ‘unresigned prophet’ in his earlier book ‘A Species In Denial’. In terms of his quote “God is an intelligible sphere whose center is everywhere and circumference nowhere” Campbell says it means this: “Each of us — whoever and wherever he may be — is then the center, and within him, whether he knows it or not, is that Mind at Large, the laws of which are the laws not only of all minds but of all space as well.”
So I think Jeremy would absolutely agree that using the demystification of ‘God’ given above, each of us is a manifestation of God and that God is within us. To tease it out a bit, and you will get a better understanding of all this in the above essay and chapter in Freedom, Jeremy explains that God is the law of Negative Entropy, which is Integrative Meaning, which is love, and that underpins everything in the universe, and the conscious mind is completely a product of that ‘law’, and that law has governed everything the conscious mind has done, even when we appeared to be in conflict with it. This information gives you just unbelievable insight into anything!!
Given you amazing knowledge of all these great thinkers and writers, I also think you would absolutely love Freedom Essay 53 Linda, it will bring so much together for you in a very profound way I think. It’s titled ‘The ‘instinct vs intellect’ is the obvious and real explanation of our condition, as all these great thinkers evidence’
Your life-long search has certainly left you incredibly well-read, and you express yourself so articulately Linda! It’s really beautiful to read. The best, best, best thing ever is that you won’t be disappointed ever with this understanding of the human condition. It really does fulfill the dream of all these amazing thinkers and writers throughout history, and your own, ‘redeeming of the dream’ absolutely! These words of yours are just sublime, “The aesthetic longings, yearnings and search for a new ‘model’ ‘paradigm’ is available to us all. A truly magnificent offering of liberation. New interpretations are now explained. And the longed-for realizations are being born.” This is exactly what the pages of Freedom reveal and I’m just more glad than I could ever express that you have found this information! And yes “new, true and beautifully holistic enlightenment within the complimentary fields of science and art.” I hope you know that you can read Freedom freely online from the website if you want to, or while you’re waiting for your hard copy. I think you are just going to devour it! Good wishes to you Linda, or is it Linda Susan?
