Why is women’s beauty such a powerful force
in human life?

A young, beautiful woman is captivating. Her appearance has the ability to inspire artists and stop us in our tracks, but why does beauty have such a powerful effect?

Various women from around the world

It is because women’s beauty has inspired humans to dream of a pure, human-condition-free world as biologist Jeremy Griffith explains in his book FREEDOM: The End Of The Human Condition, “we lose our soul, of which women is the immemorial image.”

In the 1996 film Beautiful Girls, one of the male characters perfectly articulates just how powerful this image is for humans:

“Look, the supermodels are beautiful girls. A beautiful girl can make you dizzy, like you’ve been drinking bourbon and coke all morning, she can make you feel high for the single greatest commodity known to manpromise. Promise of a better day, promise of a greater hope, promise of a new tomorrow. This particular awe can be found in the gait of a beautiful girl, in her smile and in her soul; in the way she makes every rotten thing about life seem like it’s going to be okay. The supermodels, that’s all they are, bottled promise, scenes from a brand new day, hope dancing in stiletto heels.”

You can also read much more about men and women’s relationship in WTM Email 33 and WTM Email 35; as well as his explanation of how women’s beauty became men’s only equivalent for, and measure of, the beauty of their lost pure world in Chapter 8:11B of FREEDOM.
