Hi everyone, my name is Veronica Pistilli and I’m thrilled to be opening up another World Transformation Movement Centre here in the US.
A little bit about myself: I was born in Brooklyn, New York. A few years after that, our family moved to a rather wooded area of Staten Island and I am number seven of 10 children and I can tell you we spent many young years enjoying our new surroundings; probably why my husband and I have migrated to Pennsylvania.
The 1960s were a scary time for me. Growing up during the Cold War bomb scares, we used to have drills in school. The assassinations of the Kennedys and Dr Martin Luther King. The segregation situations that were raising up riots and fires in major cities. So it left a big impression with me. So much so that when we graduated from high school and they asked us to submit our future goals with our senior pictures, I was going to ‘save the world’.
In college I studied biology and eventually earned my bachelor’s degree, but in order to pay for that, I worked in a community hospital where I discovered I could help save some lives as a respiratory therapist. So for the next 40 some odd years I tried. Sadly I’ve learned we couldn’t save everyone, but we tried to relieve the suffering.
My patients taught me that people are not ‘bad’. In a crisis situation you could have a big, scary, strong loud man come in and shrivel to a young, helpless little boy. You could have a petite, frail-looking female morph into a ferocious mama bear if her kids were sick or threatened. So that’s when I realised, I don’t think people are ‘bad’, they’re just confused, frightened, overwhelmed.
Fast forward 40 years or so, my retirement, first month and COVID-19 hits the US. So I found myself on Facebook and that’s where I found THE Interview [watch THE Interview at www.humancondition.com]. Craig Conway was interviewing an Australian biologist by the name of Jeremy Griffith, who was explaining a book that he put out, for free, called FREEDOM: The End Of The Human Condition, and it explains all his research which leads him to summarise that we have been struggling for 2 million years to try to understand, as a human species, our consciousness and our role in this universe.
So we are the heroes in this story of life, in spite of everything we’ve been through, we’re not ‘evil’. We’re worthy, we’re good! I can’t tell you how elated I was to hear that! Instantly I started laughing. It’s so simple! It’s beautiful. I felt immediate relief and I instantly understood how you could love somebody that you don’t understand, that appears ‘evil’ or overwhelmed and confused.
Needless to say, I had to download the FREEDOM book and that led me to the World Transformation Movement website [at www.humancondition.com]. And the app for my phone which gives me access to all the information in this beautiful book. It’s not just Jeremy’s studies, but a collection of all the people that have been trying to tell us through the ages, from Plato to Bono, and it’s chock full of information and beautiful people.
And he also followed it up with other books that are free. No fanfare, no preaching, no obligations, just a genuinely special person trying to get the word out so that we stop fighting. We stop trying to prove ourselves and trying to make ourselves feel worthy. We don’t have to anymore. It’s wonderful!
So that’s why I want to start a World Transformation Centre. I would love to hear from you. I love to talk about it. I love being able to spread the word and maybe we can all save the world!
