This superb interview that made clear the direction the human race needs to go. Easy to listen to and thought provoking. Thank you.

Kaitlyn McLeoonard

I am so pleased to listen to your conversation and I am so concerned too about Human rights and conditions that need to be addressed to the Society. Thanks so much for doing that

malik nawaz

Just amazing

Jetson Taylor

I have always wondered in line with what your saying is , when did mankind become aware he was naked and start wearing clothes and why did he start

WTM Admin

Very good question Jetson. As Jeremy Griffith explains, we can see that the story of the Garden of Eden is a metaphor for the emergence of the conscious mind, and how humans subsequently became psychologically upset. In chapter 2:6 of his definitive book FREEDOM, Jeremy explains that, “as a result of developing a conscious mind and a ‘disobedient’ (the term widely used in descriptions of Gen. 3) free will, Moses said we ‘fell from grace’ (derived from the title of Gen. 3, ‘The Fall of Man’), obviously meaning our original cooperative, selfless and loving (good) state became corrupted and our competitive, selfish and aggressive—indeed, angry, egocentric and alienated—(‘evil’/‘sinful’/guilt-ridden) state emerged. It was at this point that humans ‘realised that they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves’ (3:7), meaning nudity was no longer a ‘shame[less]’ state, with sex as humans now practise it emerging where, as will be explained in chapter 8:11B, the act of procreation became perverted and used as a way of angrily attacking or ‘fucking’ innocence because of its implied criticism of our lack thereof—at which point it was necessary to clothe ourselves to dampen lust and reduce the ‘shame’ we felt for being so horrifically destructive of innocence.” See also our Freedom Essay 27 titled ‘Human sex, falling in love, women’s beauty, the ‘sex object’, marriage, clothing, the ‘mystery of women’, gender role differentiation, the ‘war between the sexes’, the feminist movement, sexism, homosexuality, initiation ceremonies, hunting and meat-eating — all at last truthfully, compassionately and relievingly explained.’

What Jérémy says IS great. And it 's obvious. We all know that deeply in us...what I call Cosmic Love, love for all the living, love for the miracle of life that makes you feel compassion and happiness. I’m a bonobo!!

WTM Admin

What is great about Jeremy Griffith’s biological thesis is that it defends our so-called dark side. This explains why humans have had to be angry, egocentric and alienated! With the understanding of why our intellect had to defy our instincts, all those defensive behaviours become redundant, and humanity can return to the loving and selfish existence that we all intuitively know was once ours.

David Carlisle Carlisle

Most enlightening concept of the human condition 🤔

henry chipeya

Mmmmmm wow!! This feels like a punch to the solar plexus from Mike Tyson. This is so challenging to what I’ve always believed about life. I wish this knowledge was taught in schools and universities. Congratulations for making this knowledge available to humanity.

Gilian HAMPTON

Such a insightful explanation,, hopefully listened to by everyone but perhaps is not going to be understood by everyone. But should be listened to and thought seriously thought about.

Roy Elrod

Great

Dali Labidi

Interesting point of view yes…but personally I’ll need much more explanation to be convinced. Cordially

WTM Admin

Thanks for your interest Dali. We wanted to include our FAQ 1.9 ‘Should people be sceptical’ as it explains the astonishing claims being made about Jeremy Griffith’s work do warrant initial scepticism however they all withstand scrutiny. What people find as they investigate more and more is that it just stacks up more and more, so please visit our homepage and continue to investigate!

Stephanie

Enlightening. As a therapist, I believe that is one of the first places people begin to heal. To know that they are not responsible for being in the box they live in. Accepting themselves first.

David Crenshaw

Well said. I first learned of these things from Baha’i Writings. We are not inherently evil or bad. We have only been immature.

WTM Admin

Thank you, David. Yes, while Baha’i and other religions contain all manner of truths about human life, it is all from a pre-scientific view. Ultimately, to change our condition we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents in THE Interview and his book FREEDOM. To put it another way, it was only through finding the good reason that we had to defy our cooperative and loving instinctive self or soul, that all our defensive, ‘bad’ or so-called ‘evil’ behaviours – our ego, selfishness and aggression, could be made redundant, and the defiance and oppression of our soul could end and our species reach its maturity.

Penny

They should teach this in our schools!🙏👍🏻❤️

Wayne Noakes

I have instinctively known the truth: that behind/beyond our suffering, there is a great purpose. It is so wonderful that a scientific explanation is now available 🙏

WTM Admin

Yes Wayne, as THE Interview explains, despite our competitive and selfish behaviour we have always intuitively believed we were fundamentally good and meaningful, but we have never been able to explain our contradictory, troubled nature. We are now able to explain it from first principle biology, and that knowledge is the great scientific breakthrough Jeremy Griffith’s work presents. We hope you pursue your interest by visiting our homepage, at HumanCondition.com, where you will find a guide of ‘‘WHAT NEXT after watching THE Interview?’, which includes the steps to learning more (such as joining our ever-growing Facebook Group and subscribing to our free mailing list).

Victoria

I want to help fix this world

WTM Admin

We all do, Victoria, and at last we truly can! We recommend watching The Great Transformation presentation, which follows on from THE Interview, and explains further how, with the core mystery and problem about human behaviour of our so-called ‘good and evil’-stricken human condition understood, we can immediately be free of our upset state and start to “fix the world”!

Ron

this is such a naive comment! Just like saying as if human beings have been living in a global village for thousands of years. Of course, now, we certainly have the means to understand that we are ‘one people’ - and at the same time, there is no other way than to transcend our global species because we will only survive us ‘one’. There is absolutely nothing knew for anyone for a rational being to know that ‘aggression’ is to transcend ourselves - you only have to look at the great philosopher of history.

WTM Admin

The more you digest Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation, the more you realise the conclusion that it brings about the transformation of the world isn’t ‘naive’ at all. As Part 4, titled ‘How does the psychological rehabilitation of the human race that the arrival of understanding of the human condition finally makes possible actually occur?’ explains, at last we can understand our behaviour has been driven by a deep insecurity about our fundamental goodness or worth and so now that our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living. ‘Legitimately’ because we have the first principle science which liberates us to be honest about our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it. So instead of being focused on power, fame, fortune and glory, all our energies will be freed to truly work together on doing whatever it takes to end the suffering and save our world.

Margaret kelaits

I wish we included teaching this book of Biology Science about Humans‘ conscious mind vs animals. The subject of consciousness is the only difference between us and animals’ behavior. Look forward to reading Freedom book.

June Burge

I find this info very interesting & helpful for sure.

Trevor Roys

OK get on with it !!!

WTM Admin

While great care has been taken to present the explanation as quickly and simply as possible (which is done in Part 1 of THE Interview), opening up the underlying issue in all human affairs of the human condition does mean that there are several absolutely critical questions to be answered, which make up Parts 2, 3 & 4 of THE Interview. However, FAQ 1.3 presents a very brief summary of the key ‘instinct vs intellect’ concept. Essentially, when we humans developed a conscious mind some 2 million years ago, a battle unavoidably developed between it and our already established instincts. The result of this conflict between our instinct and intellect was that we became psychologically defensive, angry, alienated and egocentric – the upset state we refer to as the human condition. But now that we can explain and understand this conflict, all those insecure, defensive behaviours are obsoleted, brought to an end, and we free ourselves from the human condition.

Very good. 😊. A wonderful listen and read. I love this understanding ❤️ of our relationship with life.

Neil Harrison

Just when i was ignorantly going along Thinking i had it all together and it was every one else who were so out of step with where they were on the treadmill Of life. Now i see I’ve got it all ahead of me. So much to learn.

Saz Van

Here in Canada our schooling is woefully inadequate, so I don’t recall ever learning basic facts about the ‘human condition’ - other than learning some of the features we share with other mammals. And this psychological upset idea would not be included as one of these shared traits.. ‘Angry, egocentric & selfish’ has been understood as instinctive rather than conscious/ intellectual? But are those humans‘ key standout traits, or a conditioned learned point of view that’s highly subjective? I may be missing something here, but I’ve always tended to see the cooperation, nurturing & loving sides of humanity - our fundamental goodness - rather than stressing on bad/ evil/ upset!!? I’m no philosopher per se, but I’m curious as to where you’re taking this idea of being ’fully conscious' - without explaining the roots of our anger/ frustration?? And do you really think there’s huge differences between left-wing / right-wing modes of thought (isn’t that a divisive tendency)

WTM Admin

Thanks for your response Saz. It’s not just in Canada that the idea that we are a psychologically upset species isn’t taught – it isn’t taught anywhere in the world because the world has had to live in denial of its ‘upset’ state while it couldn’t explain and defend it (although it was alluded to in some of the great religious texts such as the story of the Garden of Eden). This need to live in denial of our state is why, as Jeremy explains in Part 1 of THE Interview, we had to adopt the ‘savage instincts’ excuse for our divisive behaviour: a lie that said we were good was better than a partial truth that condemned us!     What is so special about what is presented in THE Interview is that we can now explain the “roots of our anger/frustration”. The source of our psychologically upset state is a clash between our instincts and emerging conscious mind, and the only way we could bring peace to it was through finding the redeeming explanation for why we had to defy our instincts, which is what has been done here. And understanding that all -important journey to find knowledge allows us to understand why the left-wing was dangerous, which is because its insistence on ideal behaviour stifled the individualism and freedom of thought required to find that the understanding. You can read more about politics in Jeremy’s book Death by Dogma, which is freely available on our homepage.

Deb

Peace on earth Cooperative & loving Heal through understanding Respect honesty kindness support

WTM Admin

Yes, all the time, what was required to heal the turmoil within us was understanding, in particular the redeeming, reconciling and rehabilitating understanding of why we had to defy our instinctive self. It is that first principle scientific understanding that is presented here that makes redundant our previous defensive behaviours of anger, egocentricity and alienation, and makes possible the “cooperative and loving” state we all long for.

I was in a mental state in my mind and my health.... But thanks to ur guidance I’m starting to learn how life is and maintain Yr body to function again. I do understand what the world and thanks to all the people who participate in helping me understand how the world is.. Im a person who was not keen to use social networking /media but now I see how important it is. My mind was blown out.. And thanks to all who participate

Dr Norman Khoza

Wow, I’m astonished by this huge power of knowledge and insight by the biologist, Griffith. We feel privileged to have been provided with this interview which is eye opening. Surely one needs to go through the material several times in order to grasp the content thereof.

WTM Admin

Your comment is most appreciated Dr Khoza, thank you very much. You are right it is wise to re-visit this material as this biological explanation presents a massive change in our world view. In our reply to Matini’s comment below we suggest people re-watch THE Interview and explore the guide our homepage. For instance, our homepage highlights three main introductory presentations: after watching THE Interview we recommend people watch The Great Guilt video that explains the difficulty of the ‘Deaf Effect’ that discussion of the human condition initially causes, and then The Great Transformation video about how understanding the human condition actually transforms the human race.

Matini

Very well articulated, but need time for better understanding, please help m share.

WTM Admin

Thank you for your feedback Matini and yes this new science does take a little time to fully grasp so re-watching THE Interview is what we recommend. From there at the top of our homepage it states ‘WHAT NEXT after watching THE Interview?’ and provides a map to guide you through the next steps to further your understanding — and it’s all free! It is great you are keen to share the WTM’s work Matini and to easily do so we provide this share function on our website.

Amber Welch

I agree with what has been said. Have been going through this upset state here lately and hearing this makes things make more sense. Thank you.

Joshua Mosia

What’s life all about.?

WTM Admin

As THE Interview mentions Jeremy Griffith’s treatise explains, from first principle biology, that the purpose or meaning of life is integration or order but the problem has been how could we entertain that when we are so out of order with the world! Ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents. So now the human condition has been solved and our divisive, seemingly disintegrative, human condition has been defended it is safe to admit that rather than the universe and existence being chaotic and meaningless, there is actually a clear theme or purpose or meaning of existence, which is the ordering or integration of matter, a process that is driven by the physical law of Negative Entropy – see FAQ 5.3 ‘What is the meaning of life?. We also recommend Jeremy’s new book Our Meaning which further explains how being able to now admit life’s purpose or meaning is the key to ending all the horrific aspects of our corrupted condition.

Travis

Wonderful, insightful talk; helps us understand why we are the way we are, why we are so self destructive , why most all humans end up Fucking up our lives & in the end destroying our own planet.

Sue

Interesting take on the human condition.

WTM Admin

We appreciate your interest Sue, and recommend our FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this idea original or new? / How does biologist Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition differ from other theories that recognise these elements?’, as it further explains the unique significance of Jeremy Griffith’s breakthrough insight.

Henri Knobel

Wow. I honestly thought this was too good to be true. But its NOT! I’ve been searching my whole adult life for answers, anything that could relieve my Psychological distress and give me understanding and hope. Like Jeremy said there are a lot of pseudo-idealisms out there, some gave me temporary relieve. This gives me understanding and a path. It took me a few days to really understand and get through the deaf effect, but something in me knew there was more about this information that I had to understand. Once I realised its my own egocentric, competitive self thats been causing me all my distress and I now finally have the understanding why I can leave it behind, it was like everything fell into place. Looking forward to learning more and facing the “Mexican standoff “ to a transformed life. Already sharing this with people in my life. Thank you Jeremy and the WTM.

John hesmond

Thank you. Funny you talk about it as I’ve been thinking about that sort of thing for years; you have a great gift explaining the truth.

Rise

I have seen the interview, my burning question is that will the Bible be rewritten to reflect the new finding/discovery?

WTM Admin

Hi Rise, we can now appreciate that religion has played a significant role as both the custodian of the ideal state and as a means of solace for those exhausted by the corrupting journey to find knowledge, ultimately self-knowledge, which is knowledge of the human condition or our ‘fallen’ state. With the redeeming understanding of our corrupted condition now found, humanity can now safely admit the ideals without being condemned by them, and so that ideal state will no longer be repressed and so it follows that the Bible’s role as a custodian of that ideal state, and source of solace during the trauma of humanity’s great journey out of ignorance, will strictly speaking, no longer be needed. In fact, the arrival of this redeeming understanding presents the fulfilment of a time that all religions looked forward to when we could actually explain ourselves, see FAQ 6.3 ‘Does this undermine religion/God’ and FAQ 6.2 ‘What is God’. It represents the end of faith and dogma and the beginning of knowing. However, the Bible and other religions will no doubt continue to offer great comfort to those that grew up with them as we continue to assimilate this rational understanding.

Mary Lewis

Haven’t finished yet but this makes some sense and yes, gives us hope for humanity

Leslie Oosthuizen

Beautiful and exciting theory. A way of life that I have sometimes experienced as a member of small community church group. Where there was no competition or different status between members. Everyone accepted in Love whether you were rich or poor. It mattered not. As the church group grew and larger building etc was necessary. Location was upgraded and the character of the community also changed with new members and the comfortable intimacy also seemed to be greatly diluted. I am interested to read the book and hopefully share. Presently we are again in a small community about 160mms from nearest city. There are about 2500 residents in the little town. Most people I find to be hard-working, yet relaxed, happy and helpful. Thank you for enlightening and encouraging discussion. Kind regards, Leslie Oosthuizen

WTM Admin

Thank you, Leslie, and it is wonderful you are finding this knowledge so enlightening! For the benefit of readers of these commments although what is presented in THE Interview is science, it is based on a Godly nature in the sense of recognising, like all the great religions do, that we humans once lived in a pre-human-condition-afflicted state of original innocence where we were perfectly instinctively orientated to the cooperative, selfless, loving, ‘Godly’ ideals of life; ‘God’ being explained as being the integrative meaning of life, see FAQ 5.3 ‘What is the meaning of life? / What is the Integrative Meaning of existence? / What is God?’

Almore

Absolutely enthralling!

Robert D. "Denny" Irwin

I was introduced to paradigm shifting when I entered the Institute for Equestrian Education (IEE) where I served a 2-year apprenticeship from 01/02/93 - 01/02/95. During this process, I was given “7 Habits of Effective People” by Steven Covey. I was not attending the program to become an “effective person”, so I failed to read the book until it spoke to me one day as I walked by my growing library of 4-5 books. I was 42 years of age and had never read a complete book cover-to cover before in me life. I could read, but reading never offered me the satisfaction of do it, or being it, in real time. I fell in love with reading and have never give up the search for truth and true Self. My very first book was “ Codependent No More” by Melody Beattie. Stumbling across this web-site a month or 3 ago, I found answers to 50 some years of prayer, 28 years of “intentional” reading, and 5 years of “Centering Prayer” meditation. I was searching for a simple, easy, definition for Quantum Physics and discovered you web-site. I am currently mid-way through the last chapter and just had to share a very small portion of my life of paradigm shifting. I taught paradigm shifting for 14 years before I discovered its opposite....“Paradigm Paralyses”....while studying in preparation to share a curriculum as an addiction counselor at a new treatment center. I was also blessed to have a client share with me the difference between paradigm shifting and parallax shifting. As a little child growing up in spiritual, emotional, and physical ab-use, eventually discovered via horsemanship (horse-man-relation-ship) the ever so important understanding between “predator consciousness” and “pray consciousness”. I quickly re-cognized how many times the Bible uses the metaphors of predators and prey, sheep and wolves etc, etc. I will need to re-read “Freedom” before I feel qualified to share about my insights that it has given to me. But, I will become a member of the WTM! ASAP!! Thanks!!!

Wonderful Jeremy.

Walter Tobin

Operating from the position of Love is key in these otherwise confusing and fearful times!!!

WTM Admin

Yes Walter at last we can return to our instinctive loving way of operating but that depended on bringing biological understanding to what love is which is unconditional selflessness, which is a truth we couldn’t safely admit until we could explain the human condition—explain why our human behaviour has often been so unloving. Ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy Griffith presents in THE Interview. phillip Cooze

our animal instincts are ingrained in us its the diversions that put us off coarse

WTM Admin

Hi Phillip, thank you for your thoughts. In Part 1 of this interview Jeremy Griffith evidences all humans are born with an instinctive self or soul that is perfectly aligned to a cooperative and selfless way of living rather than us having savage “animal instincts”. He also explains that humans’ upset (angry, egocentric and alienated) behaviour is the result of a universal psychosis caused by the unavoidable clash between our instinct and intellect. This clash did result in us “diverting” from our cooperative instincts so we do agree with that part of your comment. Most significantly, as Part 4 explains a psychosis can be healed with understanding, so our psychologically upset human nature is fixable or changeable—not unchangeable—which is what it would essentially be if our competitive and aggressive nature was instinctive; if it was something that is in our genes and we were born with. Our FAQ 1.3 ‘What is biologist Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition?’ gives a four paragraph summary of what THE Interview presents.

WTM Admin

THE Interview explains that the source of human conflict is not aggressive animal instincts within us, but a psychosis caused by a clash between our intellect and cooperative instincts. We recommend you watch THE Interview and then read Freedom Essay 29, ‘Can human conflict ever be bought to an end’, in which it is explained that, “It takes time to absorb the full ramifications of Jeremy’s explanation, but the more you digest it, the more you realise that this psychologically ‘upset’ state is behind all the conflict and suffering on the planet. And since the human condition is essentially a psychosis, the other wonderful realisation is that it can be permanently healed through understanding.”

Very interesting.

Jeff Reshaun

I get it. You have to be able to have massive control over your ACTION of play. I truely understand everything said here. I love this.

WTM Admin

Yes, until we explained the human condition we have necessarily had to live in a psychologically upset angry, egocentric and alienated state. That required great discipline and the whole human race in effect ‘civilised’ those aggressive impulses to a large extent, but they were still there.

Caroline Teunissen

I’d love to find out more.

Without being aware of your circumstances, all we can say is that what is so significant about this explanation is that we no longer have to be burdened by the fundamental question of whether we are good or bad because our core goodness as individuals and as a species has been biologically established. We can understand humans’ psychological upset was the price humans had to pay for searching for knowledge and that the human story presents the greatest, most heroic story ever told. We can at last understand the source of our upset and bring great compassion and kindness to ourselves and others. Ultimately, this biological treatise establishes all humans are equally good, worthwhile, meaningful and wonderful regardless of gender, age, religion, etc.
