Jeremy Griffith’s work is not a idealistic plea for the world to just be communal or cooperative, rather it is a first-principle biological explanation for why we haven’t been cooperative. It explains the human condition isn’t an expression of ‘greedy, self serving, unapologetic’ animal instincts within us, but is the result of a psychosis caused by humanity’s heroic, but corrupting, search for knowledge. Most significantly, this psychosis can be healed with understanding which ends the human suffering you speak of at its source, and unites the human race (see FAQ 1.6).

    Thank you for your feedback Henry and we certainly respect people’s religious views. What you say is true but what is astonishing is Jeremy Griffith’s treatise actually explains these truths from first principle science. It reconciles science and religion by bringing biological understanding to pre-scientific concepts. In fact it is the fulfilment of a time that the great founding prophets of religion looked forward to when we could actually explain ourselves.     For those interested in exploring this further we suggest FAQ 6.3. Yes, the truth about humans is necessarily extremely confronting of all the psychological upset and denial that the human condition has caused in us and the world, which isn’t comfortable or ‘nice’. ‘The truth hurts’ because its honesty or ‘rightness’ is correcting the ‘wrong’ but what you discover is this is the full, all-compassionate truth about our upset but heroic human condition! Yes the psychosis humanity is suffering from is the source of our aggression and violence but to heal it we needed to answer the essential question of why, when the ideals are to be loving and selfless, are we so competitive and selfish? It is this question of questions that Jeremy Griffith has solved and what is unique about his work. And while it is true that ‘violence is inherited’, or as Jeremy explains in THE Interview, psychological upset is passed on through generations through its impact on our ability to nurture (see also FREEDOM chapter 8:16C), what is being presented here is the redeeming scientific explanation of the source psychosis from which all these ‘inherited’ psychoses and aggression flow. Which means that whatever our individual encounter with the human condition we are all fundamentally defended, and can all end our defensive, insecure behaviour—and nurturing can again become humanity’s central focus, ending that vicious cycle. Thank you for your feedback to FREEDOM Macro. Jeremy Griffith’s work does explain how humans have become so psychologically upset (angry, egocentric and alienated from our all-caring instincts) we are at the endgame for the human race where ‘no one cares about how we may end up’, as you say, and this upset behaviour does present the ultimate paradox. For instance, when we understand that the search for knowledge, namely the search for understanding of our ‘good and evil’-stricken human condition, has been all-important, we can see that it is the left, not the right wing, that poses the real threat to humanity because its dogmatically imposed pseudo idealism gravely endangers freedom of thought and that search for understanding. Jeremy is not unfairly focusing on the failings of the left wing and indeed, in FREEDOM he acknowledges the importance of compassion in holding a society together, but rather explains from first principles the serious threat posed by pseudo idealism to humanity’s ultimate goal of finding understanding. At last we can understand the real merits and liabilities of both the left and right wings of politics and bring the whole necessary but ugly business of politics to an end (see our FAQs about politics). As THE Interview explains ‘we have had to smother ourselves with material glory while we lacked the spiritual glory of compassionate understanding of ourselves’. Similarly, in the absence of the real defence of our condition, we have adopted the view that competition is meaningful, and so corporations all compete to see who can make the most money. It takes time to see how this biological understanding stops our selfishness and greed but because it addresses the core insecurity that has been driving it, it actually does (see FAQ 1.6 ‘Why does understanding of the human condition solve everything?’)

We should be breeding the strongest people

As explained in FAQ 5.2 there is no clash between animal and moral instincts within us – our distant ancestors were completely loving, cooperative and moral. No, the source of our aggressive behaviour is not animal instincts but the psychologically upset state caused by the instinct vs intellect clash.

    As THE Interview explains all humans are born with loving moral instincts but we all now variously suffer from a psychosis due to the human condition and, in the extreme, that psychologically conflicted upset state produces psychopathic behaviour. Of course this breakthrough explanation doesn’t condone or sanction such depravity (what historically has been termed ‘evil’) rather, through bringing compassionate understanding to the source of humans’ upset behaviour, it gives us the power to ameliorate and thus subside and ultimately eliminate it (see FAQ 4.2 How does this rehabilitate ‘evil’). This healing is a process, and medication will obviously still play an important role in us managing our upset, but what is so transforming is we don’t have to be burdened by the fundamental question of whether we are good or bad anymore because our fundamental goodness as a species has been biologically established. That macro truth looks after all humans now. As a Neil Sullivan commented below “All that I have learned from psychoanalytic thinking and practice is supported in this interview; the psychopathology of power, greed and domination can be individually overcome through understanding of the human condition; the collective unconscious can then gradually change our activities to ones that are in harmony with one another and all living forms on the planet.”     In his definitive book FREEDOM (chapter 8) Jeremy Griffith explains our excessively egocentric psychopathic behaviour (see especially ch 8:16D). He further elaborates on this need for power, control and domination in Freedom Essay 62 where he gives a full presentation of the entire human journey and how understanding of the human condition now makes possible the real therapy and rehabilitation of the human race.

i think its the best interview i have listened to yet its full of truth the world needs it because so much has been told as truth but it been a false truth now the cracks are starting to show up in the lies that has been told to us we can only give GOD THE GLORY

While it takes some time to digest, we suggest that what is unique about Jeremy Griffith’s work is that he has answered the essential question of why, when the universal ideals are to be integrative are we so disintegrative? Our endeavours in philosophy, psychology and biology have failed, until now, to provide a truthful, real, fully accountable, genuinely clarifying explanation. And for their part, while religious assurances such as ‘God loves you’ may have provided temporary comfort, they too failed to explain WHY we are lovable. It is this question of questions that Jeremy has solved with his instinct vs intellect explanation, as presented in THE Interview. We now have the completely redeeming, uplifting and healing biological understanding of the core mystery and problem about human behaviour of our so-called ‘good and evil’-stricken human condition.     And we suggest that it is only now that we have the redeeming explanation of humans’ divisively behaved human condition that it is possible to at last confront the obvious truth of the Negative-Entropy-driven integrative meaning of existence (which we have personified as ‘God’). Yes this truth about humans is extraordinarily simple and is a game changer because at last we can see that humans were heroic, not sinful, to suffer corruption as a result of searching for knowledge. In biological terms, our instincts were in effect intolerant of our emerging intellect’s need to find understanding, which resulted in us becoming psychologically defensive, angry, alienated and egocentric. Most importantly, this psychosis can be healed with understanding! It couldn’t be more momentous!

We certainly respect everyone’s right to alternate interpretations of the Bible, but we suggest that the more you digest the intellect vs instinct explanation and just how psychologically upset humans became as a result, the more you realise that it does rationally explain all facets of our existence. And so it does seem clear that the story of Adam and Eve is a pre-scientific metaphor for the emergence of consciousness and its clash with our pre-established, cooperative loving instincts, resulting in humans becoming psychologically upset or ‘sinful’ or ‘evil’. As THE Interview explains, the human condition is the most fearful of subjects because it’s the issue of whether we are fundamentally good or bad and our fear of this interface produces an initial ‘deaf effect’ or ‘clouds of cognitive dissonance’ as you aptly describe it. Just watch Jeremy’s Video/Freedom Essay 1 titled ‘Your block to the most wonderful of all gifts’ which will help you tremendously understand and ‘overcome this’.     Also in terms of the utterly horrific situation currently in South Africa, without the explanation of the human condition it is insoluble, but astonishingly, what you will discover is that this understanding (specifically, that humans have an innocent past, and without being able to understand why, the longer we have been involved in the search for knowledge, the more we corrupted it, and the incredible shame we have felt over that) does explain and resolve such horror. It does take some absorption but yes our need to control and dominate isn’t driven by selfish territorial instincts (as your first comment below spoke of) rather it is the product of a psychosis caused by the clash between our intellect and cooperative instincts. It was our instincts’ ignorant criticism of our conscious mind’s search for knowledge that forced us to ‘turn out backs on our instinct’ and become estranged from our natural selves and its natural cooperative and harmonious way of living. Having to do this did cause us to become angry, egocentric and alienated and made us want to destroy nature for its unwitting criticism of us. The guilt of which we have carried until now.     To heal the human condition we needed to answer the essential question of why, when the ideals are to be loving and selfless, are we so competitive and selfish, why did we turn on our instinct? Advances in quantum science and epigentics hasn’t answered that question but Jeremy has with his instinct vs intellect explanation. To quote THE Interview: “What this real instinct vs intellect explanation of the human condition fundamentally does is lift the ‘burden of guilt’ from the human race. It establishes that we humans are good and not bad after all. The human condition is the study of humans’ capacity for acts of both so-called ‘good and evil’. It is the realm of inquiry where science and religion overlap, so in explaining the human condition religion is also explained. What is so extraordinary about the explanation of the human condition is that it actually defends the conscious mind for becoming egocentric. That is the great paradox of the human condition – we humans had to defy our loving instincts in order to find understanding and one day be able to re-join those instincts. THE Interview (Part 4) stresses that the only way we can re-join with our loving ‘origin’ or ‘win the battle’ or ‘wake up’ is to confront and biologically explain why we became so upset, so messed up, which is what Jeremy Griffith’s work does. Anything less was a false start to a human-condition-free world, was pseudo idealistic, because the upsetting battle to find knowledge, ultimately self-knowledge, the psychologically relieving understanding of why we are good and not bad, still had to be completed.
