Part 2

Extended Description of the human condition

Part 2.1  Some of the topics to now be looked at include the ‘Deaf Effect’, the depth of our anger, and how we cope with exposure of our corrupted human condition

115

What has been presented so far in this analysis of the human condition is the description of what the human condition actually is, why we have lived in mortal fear of the human condition, why advances in science have made it possible to explain the human condition, and how that explanation frees the human race from the agony and horror of the human condition.

116

Now that we have the redeeming understanding of the human condition, which is our mind-upset-for-being-condemned neurosis, and soul-repressed-by-our-mind psychosis because of our soul’s condemnation of our mind, a whole world of understandings of us humans opens up. When the lights of understanding are turned on in the dark world of denial of our immensely mind-upset and soul-repressed human condition, and of all the human condition-avoiding false ‘explanations’ for virtually every aspect of human life, there is so much about us humans that we can finally truthfully and compassionately and relievingly understand and make sense of. Some of the more important insights that haven’t as yet been described but will be looked at in this ‘Extended Description of the human condition’ are the difficulty of the ‘Deaf Effect’ that most people suffer from when they first try to read or listen to analysis of the human condition; why analysis of the human condition can initially cause an extremely angry reaction; and how everyone can cope with the all-redeeming and all-liberating but at the same time all-exposing truth about our immensely corrupted, mind-mad and soul-dead human condition.

117

Firstly, to go over our basic situation so that we can appreciate how much mental upset and soul-repression we, our conscious thinking self, have been practicing. What happened was that we humans became fully conscious some 2 million years ago, and then when our conscious mind naturally began experimenting in managing our life from a basis of understanding the world, our already established, inflexible, fixed, dictatorial instinctive orientations to the world in effect criticised our conscious mind’s experiments because, in undertaking those experiments, our conscious mind was not behaving in accordance with those instinctive orientations. What happened then was that this criticism upset our conscious mind, causing it to become defensively angry towards the criticism, determined to prove it undeserved, and to blocking the criticism out of its thoughtswe, our conscious thinking self, became upset angry, egocentric and alienated. The resulting competitive, selfish and aggressive behaviour drew further condemnation from our particular cooperative, selfless and loving moral instincts, which made our conscious mind even more defensively angry, egocentric and alienated. Our divisive competitive, selfish and aggressive behaviour also made us feel condemned for being out of step with Integrative Meaning or ‘God’! We were living in a double and triple whammy situation of rapidly escalating mental upset or neurosis, and soul-repressing psychosis that could only end when our anger, egocentricity and alienation-producing search for knowledge finally led to the finding of the redeeming good reason for why we defied our instincts and became competitive, selfish and aggressive and by so doing corrupted or destroyed our species’ original cooperative, selfless and loving instinctive self or soul’s worldwhich is the redeeming Instinct vs Intellect explanation of the human condition that the scientific advances that have been made in understanding how genes and nerves work have finally made it possible to present.
