Watching that interview was revolutionising. Although I can’t stop thinking about how can we achieve this nearly impossible challenge of over coming and spreading the knowledge of the human condition? When we live in a world full of conflict and hate. I’m 17 and I live in Ireland, I want to help!

WTM Admin

Hi Donall, what a wonderfully generous response! It may take time for people to realise that this breakthrough is what it says it is (as with any new scientific breakthrough in history), but once this catches on — through people recognising the importance of it — the infectious enthusiasm and selfless love it liberates will spread like wildfire. We recommend you look at our FAQs 1.4 – 1.6 and chapter 9:9 of Jeremy’s definitive book FREEDOM for more on just how quickly this knowledge can transform the world.     Your offer to help this all-important project is so appreciated. We have a guide here on our website for people who want to help and join the WTM, including subscribing to our mailing list, watching our key introductory material (including THE Interview, which you have done), reading FREEDOM, becoming a member and interacting with us. We have a thriving WTM Community with over 45 global WTM Centres and we have regular webinars and meetings to discuss this incredible transformation — see our WTM Community page. And we also have a World Transformation Movement Facebook Community, so feel free to join and share in the discussion, excitement and fellowship there and on our website!

Very very informative

Damota

Liberating, ...taking away all of mankind’s prejudices that are tightly attached. Great stuff.

Jay

This is a big enough issue that we need to worry about as a human race rather than manupulating & killing each other for no real reasons. It would be best to keep the natural & supernatural aspects separate due to various religious beliefs & faiths to move forward from where the human race has got up to over the last two million years! Simply because it would be much easier to get to the bottom if we keep the supernatural elements away from the core discovery!

WTM Admin

Yes, they are emotive topics, but as is explained in FAQ 1.15, the study of the human condition is the study of humans’ capacity for acts of both so-called ‘good and evil’—of why, when the ideals are to be cooperative loving and selfless are we capable of incredible aggression and selfishness. This realm of inquiry is where science and religion overlap, so naturally in explaining the human condition the terms ‘good and evil’ and religious references will be used, and through scientific explanation, finally demystified and reconciled.

MM Joffe

Bonobos are as they are because they live in a plentiful environment, as compared to chimpanzees. Does that not explain their disposition and behaviour?

WTM Admin

As Jeremy explains in chapter 6.8 of FREEDOM, being in a food-rich, relatively predator-and-competitor-free environment will not quell competition for mating opportunities. The only thing that can do that is the love-indoctrination process. So while the love-indoctrination process does require relatively ideal conditions to become established (see chapter 5:6 of FREEDOM), it is wrong to say that bonobos’ disposition and behaviour is explained by their environment alone.

Jamie Duffy

I found this so inspiring and uplifting. Given me understanding of hope for the human condition. I am 73, female. Somehow I knew this was so but never knew how to articulate or explain why and where it all went wrong for us. I always have understood a child is innocent and pure until its slate is written on. I’m definitely going to buy this book. It is so imperative to understand and internalize this for the sake of humanity and our planet and all life forms and each other and our future direction.

Twilight

We were given a computer brain, but no program for it; but Aha, Griffith has found it, made sense of our lives!

Queenie Ataiti

Hallo Doctor, isnt it appropriate to say that ‘sin’ is the cause of the condition the world is in at the moment. I appreciate your talk, thank you

WTM Admin

Hi Queenie, ‘sin’ is the religious term historically used to describe our angry, egocentric and alienated human condition. With the advances of science, we can now understand that our psychologically upset human condition is the product of a two million year old, unavoidable clash between our gene-based instincts and our emerging nerve-based consciousness. As Jeremy has written (in chapter 3.8 of FREEDOM),“the Seven Deadly Sins of the human condition, of lust, anger, pride, envy, covetousness, gluttony and sloth, are in truth all different manifestations of the three fundamental upsets of anger, egocentricity and alienation that unavoidably emerged when humans became fully conscious and had to set out in search of knowledge in the presence of unjustly condemning instincts.”

Clara C. Sierra

I would have loved to acquired this understanding of the human condition much earlier in life. It would have served sooo much. I wish schools concentrate on giving us life-basic-survival skills that makes effective @ living. Thank you.

Leigh

Why is his explanation so full of biblical stuff? Defeats the object of the exercise if you ask me.

WTM Admin

Hi Leigh, the realm of inquiry of the human condition is where science and religion overlap, so naturally in explaining the human condition the terms ‘good and evil’, religious references and other philosophical analogies will be used and through scientific explanation be finally demystified and reconciled. We have an FAQ that deals directly with this question, FAQ 1.15: If this is biology, why the religious references?

This interview has alleviated much of my deep anxiety about my grandchildren’s future. I hope that world leaders become inspired by this work, and use the positive energy that we possess naturally to overcome the crises we currently face. Thankyou for you for this new knowledge

Jurgen

Amazingly simple insight into such a complex problem regarding humankind’s worst traits. I can’t wait to read the book.

Great and inspiring.

Susan Jane Bell

Engaging, insightful and compelling.

In some cases, individuals have questions that only a specific person can tangibly explain everything we require for certain answers. Thank you for all the information, good explanations. It is a powerful tool, that through learning and deeper understanding is the core of each life’s transformation.

Jacky

I was getting VERY EXCITED listening to this interview, having also spent MY entire life researching the human condition. (...which began in sociology, exploring social processes, and then moved onto deep study into the human psyche...) I was totally agreed with everything Jeremy was saying, and feeling delighted that this account was being shared by someone so knowledgeable. (...I cooled somewhat at the part of the interview that singled out ‘the Left’, the ‘politically correct’ and ‘new agers’ for blame...because it sounded more like good old fashioned (tribal) prejudice and divisivism than well considered research...and likely to promote polarism..) Regardless, I certainly intend to look into this further...!

WTM Admin

Thank you so much for your comment Jacky. This response is a little long but you raise an important issue around perceived criticism of the ‘the Left’, the ‘politically correct’ and ‘new agers’. Jeremy Griffith’s explanation opens up an entirely new way of thinking about humans, which is exciting, but it does present a huge paradigm shift in how we view ourselves and the world. For instance, we now know that we had to search for knowledge, ultimately sufficient knowledge to explain the human condition — why we are divisively rather than cooperatively behaved. This search corrupted us, but that was the price we had to pay. Our fundamental responsibility as conscious beings was to keep persevering with our corrupting search until we found the redeeming understanding of ourselves and, until that was found, there was no real way out of our psychologically upsetting situation. This point about our fundamental responsibility to search for knowledge, even though it was upsetting and corrupting, allows us to understand the real merits and liabilities of the left and right wings of politics. In his book FREEDOM, Jeremy explains the twin political problems we have are the brutality of the right-wing’s need to continue the corrupting search for knowledge free from too much condemning idealism, and the left-wing’s dishonest and deluded dogmatic imposition of pseudo-idealistic politically correct values. And so paradoxically it was the right-wing that actually held the moral high ground and the left-wing that posed the real threat to humanity due to the fact that its dogmatically imposed pseudo-idealism gravely endangers freedom of thought and the search for understanding.     I hope this helps to see that Jeremy doesn’t excuse the right-wing for its corrupting behaviour nor unfairly focuses on the failings of the left but rather brings a profound understanding to both sides which ultimately will bring an end to the whole ugly business of politics; rather than promoting polarity it brings reconciling understanding. This is fully explained in our FAQs about politics and the new age movement, which we hope you will explore as part of your further consideration Jacky, as we think you will find this understanding really does provide all the answers you’ve ever sought about the human condition.

Grace

I totally agree with Jeremy and everything he said and I believe that more people that have or gain this knowledge and understanding, the more the people and the world can heal in love peace and understanding as we are all united. We should all take time in knowing and understanding ourselves so that we can empower those who don’t and the world can heal

Nazir Jan Dharamsi

Yearning to learn the new science ideas.

Gerald Mukuria

A word from a humanistic human being is worth more than gold. God bless you

Yemi

Excited to learn!

Marianne Hopkins

Sounds like a good idea, we are divided by so many things, which cause the collapse of a society. By being a bit more real about the impact we have, on our friends, family, house, environment, world, etc, we become protecters of the world not abusers of it. I will probably not read your book, but to be frank, things need to change, and often it’s the people, not the lightbulb🐲🐒🐲🎃🏁🦊🧚🧚🧚🤴🐸🐲🐒

Abi

You should read Jeremy’s book Marianne, because it is the fundamental understanding or ourselves that allows change to happen. It makes sense of a world that seems inexplicable and gives us a way forward.

Zaid

It’s great! It helps a lot

Michael

Maybe one or two insight’s, but still a very self contradictory conversation, and still didn’t touch on the real cause of the subject, it was more of a history lesson..

PaulM

In Part 1 of The Interview Griffith provides the scientific explanation for the human condition. He explains that humans' angry, egocentric state was caused by a clash between the emerging conscious mind and the pre-established instinctive system. Griffith says, "the gene-based, natural selection process only gives species instinctive orientations to the world, whereas the nerve-based, conscious mind, which is able to make sense of cause and effect, needs understanding of the world to operate. There is some history, but it is illuminating. In Part 2 Griffith discusses prominent thinkers (stretching back to pre-science) who have recognized that the human condition was caused by the elements of instinct and intellect within us.

Pascal Clement

This is a remarkable breakthrough which can help huge progress in solving human conflicts. I hope world transformation movement will rapidly be known around our planet!

PaulM

Yes, THE most important interview!

Joseph

A truly amazing interview. The perfect pathway to the truth about our human condition. From beginning to end it is information that brings clarity and light to the understanding of human behaviour; past, present and our future. Most encouraging and inspirational.

WB

Break all the contradictions of self-interest to altruism, selfish to altruistic to absolutely seamless.

Christopher Hall

We ABSOLUTELY can have been in that cooperative state AND competitive and aggressive too. You’re looking at Bonbo’s and excluding other chimps. We ARE animals. That’s why we are the way we are. I’m just waiting for God to turn up now...

WTM Admin

The evidence, as presented in chapter 5 of FREEDOM, is that bonobos represent a far better model of our human ancestors than chimpanzees. As is explained in FAQ 1.2, in the absence of the fully accountable, true understanding of the human condition — the explanation for why we behave divisively instead of cooperatively and lovingly — it makes sense that we humans needed to come up with some excuse in order to cope with the negative implications of our behaviour. And so we came up with the excuse that our ‘human nature’ is really no different from that seen in the animal kingdom; that we humans are competitive, aggressive, and selfish because of a need to reproduce our genes. Further, descriptions of human behaviour, such as egocentric, arrogant, inspired, depressed, deluded, pessimistic, optimistic, artificial, hateful, mean, immoral, guilt-ridden, evil, psychotic, neurotic, alienated, etc, all recognise the involvement of our species’ unique fully conscious thinking mind — that there is a psychological dimension to our behaviour. Humans have suffered not from the genetic-opportunism-based, non-psychological animal condition, but the conscious-mind-based, psychologically troubled human condition. You can read more about the false ‘savage instincts’ excuse in Freedom Essays 2 and 14.

Barry R.

Really interesting and captivating

Simon C Hoare

So how do we collectively free humanity?

Genevieve

We just need to continue getting the explanation of the human condition out into the public arena Simon. As Jeremy explains in chapter 9.9 of FREEDOM, “it is going to come as an enormous relief for the planet and for humankind — in fact, it is going to make all the difference — that, through the finding of understanding of why humans are good and not bad, we can finally let go of our selfish, egocentric, have-to-prove-our-worth, materialistic, power-fame-fortune-and-glory-seeking way of living and take up the transformed, human-condition-liberated, selfless existence.”

Sharon

AMEN

Christine Brain

Really makes sense. Let us all truly love and heal

Fionnuala Gannon

Excellent. Understanding given to our uniform psychoses and path forward through it.

Tim Jephcott

A very thorough description of our corrupted condition, but disappointingly a complete avoidance of who and what we are, as defined by people such as Deepak Chopra or Eckhart Tolle, among hundreds of others. A great book obviously, well promoted.

WTM Admin

In Part 3 of THE Interview, Jeremy explains that our human instincts are loving and cooperative - that is our natural state; and in Part 4, it is explained how, with the human condition now solved, all humans will be able to return to that state, but with understanding, in a fully conscious way. Writers like Tolle and Chopra simply advocate you just stop thinking, ignore thoughts about the past and future and just focus on the present moment, but that’s an abandonment of the fundamental responsibility of having a conscious, thinking mind! You can read more about these ‘false starts’ in Freedom Essay 33, which includes a discussion of Tolle’s work; and FAQ 6.5 which explains the difference between the WTM and pseudo-idealistic movements (in addition to the aforementioned Part 4 of THE Interview).

Magnus

Outstanding presentation. Thank you so much for sharing this information which will help so many people in this quintessential evolution of consciousness and the human species at large.

Arnold Fellendans

I watched the interview with great interest and pleasure. An article in the Scientific American of March 2020 might not only enhance the ideas presented by Jeremy Griffith, but may even show a route which can accelerate the whole process. This article describes how myeline stores our knowledge in our brain: very, very firmly. And myeline also makes it possible to collect different elements of knowledge, stored in different parts of our brain, extremely rapidly so that we can use it without any noticeable delay, ideal to jump to conclusions. What the article does not mention is the fact that biological phenomena known under the label of autopoiesis or complexity, forces us to maintain our knowledge also very firmly, since essential for our status, and that also in groups, so providing us with paradigmata. Making people conscious of these effects of myeline, can give Jeremy’s endeavour an desirable accellaration.

Vanitha Reddy

Interesting and informative, thanks

Andre

As with all wonderful finds, this find tells all about where we come from, but almost nothing about where this takes us. I would prefer to know more about the benefits

WTM Admin

Hi Andre, Part 4 of THE Interview explains how understanding of the human condition makes possible the psychological rehabilitation of the human race; and our FAQs 1.4 – 1.6 and chapter 9:9 of Jeremy’s definitive book FREEDOM explain just how quickly this knowledge can transform the world.

Andre

This interview has given me a lot of food for thought. I have long felt that us humans lack the full understanding of the lives we live and the reasons behind our differing ways of life. It sounds like this may have the answers to my questions. I look forward to learning more.

Shawn

This is worth watching

Oksana

Humans are such that not everyone would want this. Its really sad, tragic.

WTM Admin

It may take some time for people to realise that this breakthrough is what it says it is (as with any new scientific breakthrough in history), but once this catches on — through people recognising the importance of it — the infectious enthusiasm and selfless love it liberates will spread like wildfire. Oksana, our response to Andre above contains links you may find helpful to where the WTM and Jeremy explain just how quickly this knowledge can transform the world.

Wow, I’ve never heard the Bible’s revealing of the nature of man, from beginning to end, explained as “a new science” before. Well done!!

Brad

This should be taught in schools, would save alot of people

Alison Lockhart

Just before the author said Bonobo I thought that was what he was going to say. It’s too difficult to explain on one comment but I feel like this has been my lifes work finally said out loud. As though what I have searched for over and over again has now been spoken. I’m just so in awe of the simplicity and vitally the so obvious truth. I commend you, this may sound strange but balance and blessings may just return now 😊🌱

How we move forward

Joseph Wood

Craig does a great job on this interview, and biologist Jeremy Griffith explains the “human condition” and how we overcome it in 4 sections. This is Jeremy’s definitive work, and through this interview will start to gain momentum world-wide. It is much needed and just in time to guide us away from the destructive path we are presently on. Freedom is the most profound book since the bible, now with the redeeming truth about us humans.

Maria Posholi

This is the eyes opening book we have been waiting for. Humanity is the only way to get through this

Pete Sadler

After many years of reading and studying the work and ground breaking insights of Biologist Jeremy Griffith, I believe The Interview of Jeremy Griffith by Craig Conway is an outstanding introduction to understanding the Human Condition and how with true understanding of ourselves and others true world peace is definitely possible. Let me assure you it will be the most satisfying thing you could ever do and will start your journey to true enlightenment.

Helle Borchsenius

Seems true to me. I really would like to understand more. Been a serious student of a Course in Miracles for some time. And the need for a Creator or God is then outdated with this new theory? Just a question

WTM Admin

We appreciate your interest Helle. With regard to your question, we recommend reading WTM FAQ 6.3 which explains that the great founding prophets of religion actually looked forward to the arrival of the reconciling understanding of the human condition — which means supporters of religion shouldn’t see Jeremy’s scientific demystification of religious teachings as undermining of faith, but as religious fulfillment! Also, there is a huge difference between this understanding and the ‘Course in Miracles’, which this comment on Video/Freedom Essay 9 by subscriber Lesley Davies illustrates: “I can now see why A Course in Miracles didn’t work for me. I completed the 365 day course three years running to try and heal myself from deep depression and anxiety. After reading essay 15 [Freedom Essay 15: ‘How your life can immediately be transformed’] and studying Freedom it becomes clear that without the explanation of WHY we are so upset ACIM can only act as a sticky plaster with the ’scream’ still going on underneath.” Please also see FAQ 6.5 ‘Is this just another self-help, New Age, pseudo idealistic movement?’.

Interesting, would like to hear more.

John

Super interesting! But how long will it take... We lived under these angry feelings for so long. It is kind of integrated in our DNA.

WTM Admin

Thanks John. Jeremy Griffith explains humans’ angry and alienated behaviour is not a product of unchangeable savage animal instincts within us, but the result of a psychosis, caused by the clash between our instinct and intellect, and a psychosis IS changeable as it can be healed through understanding. As he explains in chapter 8:16E of FREEDOM, there is some genetic adaptation to upset, but it is miniscule compared with our all-loving instinctive soul, developed over the millions of years that we were living lovingly and cooperatively before the human condition emerged. To quote the end of that chapter “Even the upset that is now instinctive, in our genes, will not be an issue because when our capacity to love is finally liberated, as it can now be, it will effectively make all our upset—both psychological and instinctive—disappear without a trace. It is all history now.” So this transformation is certainly happening! The incredible Commendations on our homepage and also our fabulous Transformation page illustrate this.

Neuroplasticity of the brain allows for treatment of psychosis and neurosis. Our upset state, our human condition, can be healed!

WTM Admin

Hi Warren, neuroscience gives us tools to manage our damaged upset selves through understanding the neuroplasticity of our brains but it does not address the human condition itself. Biologist Jeremy Griffith gives us an understanding of, and solution to, the actual source of our damaged upset human condition and this is what is so significant and transforming about his work.
