Very nice, except Jeremy was very wrong about “the Left” and “the Right.” The truth is that there is no “culture of the Left” or the right. There are many different cultures and spectrums of each. There are people all along the political spectrum who are addicted to dogma, as well as people who seek knowledge and morality.
Plus, not everyone thinks one or the other of their instincts and reasoning are bad. Some were not indoctrinated with the notion of original sin and don’t feel guilty.
Similarly, not everyone has a problem with instincts vs reasoning. Some people accept they have both and take responsibility for their instincts. There are even people who take responsibility for both their instincts as well as their error-prone reasoning.
WTM Admin
Thank you for your consideration and thoughts Rand. Biologist Jeremy Griffith explains in THE Interview that all humans are born with loving moral instincts but now variously suffer from the human condition — a universal psychosis caused by a clash between our instinct and intellect. He further explains that while we couldn’t explain our corrupted, psychologically upset condition we had no choice but to live in a state of almost complete denial of the issue, to the point effectively of being unaware of it (see FAQ 1.16 about the initial ‘deaf effect’ this fear can cause). But now we can understand the source of our upset and that it was the price humans had to pay for searching for knowledge we can at last confront the human condition and relieve the subconscious fear of the human condition and the guilt and shame we carry for departing from our all-loving instincts. Jeremy’s work fundamentally lifts the ‘burden of guilt’ from the human race. It establishes that we are good and not bad after all by resolving the conflict between our intellect and instinct and thereby reconciling our divided selves (see FAQ 1.5 ‘Why is understanding the human condition important to my life?'). As psychiatrist Professor Harry Prosen, a former President of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, wrote: “the beauty of Griffith’s treatise is that the healing starts at the macro level of the universal human condition; the healing of the shame and blame that the whole human race has suffered from…It brings the greater context and love to all human psychosis and suffering, and then, from under the umbrella of that safe position, everyone can gradually work inwards to their particular experience of all the imperfections in human life that have now, finally, been made sense of” — see FAQ 1.34.
In terms of politics Jeremy’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition allows us to understand the real merits and liabilities of both the left and right wing. His work certainly recognises the destructive brutality of the right-wing; indeed he brings understanding to the whole extremely destructive angry, egocentric and alienated human condition. He also recognises the failing of the Left, which is that its dogmatic insistence on cooperative, selfless and loving behaviour stifled and oppressed the freedom of expression and individualism needed to find knowledge, ultimately self-knowledge, the redeeming understanding of our seemingly destructive human condition that thankfully he has now found and presents in his book FREEDOM. Basically his work brings profound understanding to both sides, which, as mentioned ultimately brings to an end the whole ugly business of politics. This is fully explained in our FAQs about politics.
Rand
I read the essay- you don’t have to reiterate his message that there’s a frequent conflict between instinct and intellect. Rereading my comment, I don’t understand why you wrote that extremely long first paragraph.
There is probably less “dogmatic insistence” on the left than on the right, due to less adherence to dogmatic religions. There are probably similar amounts of search for knowledge and self-knowledge, though now that right-wing extremists have demonized science and education, there might be less on the right.
The left has no “dogma of cooperation.” It’s just a value which is stressed because of our society’s imbalance in favor of ownership, forsaking the commons. It’s a radical-right invention, which you seem to have bought into, that the left “stifled and oppressed the freedom of expression and individualism needed to find knowledge.” Making the statement with no justification is, frankly, bizarre. Plus, it’s unnecessary. Similarly, much of the right doesn’t have “destructive brutality.” I suggest staying away from these, or signposting them with better qualifiers, such as, saying these are right-wing views, rather than implying they’re true.
From the essay, Griffith does NOT heal “the shame and blame that the whole human race has suffered from.” While this could be possible, it’s not going to be done by a theory aimed at adults. It’s natural for every child to have a “fall from grace.” To prevent this, parents, or perhaps schools, will have to catch it early and help the child learn otherwise.
You wrote: “Jeremy’s work ... establishes that we are good and not bad after all”
This strengthens the problem, the whole good-bad paradigm. Yes, there are ways to raise kids so that much of the badness and shame is avoided, but kids are very quick to create meaning. They can easily accidentally create themselves as bad or worthless.
WTM Admin
We are sorry you did not find our reply helpful, Rand. There is a lot to take in here, but essentially what Jeremy Griffith is presenting is the psychological basis of the left and right wings of politics from the context of humanity’s corrupting search for knowledge. Understanding this context is critical, otherwise there can be a tendency to make overly-literal interpretations of what ‘the search for knowledge’ entails. Essentially, those on the right wing of politics are voting that society should be allowed to cater for the anger, egocentricity and alienation that continuing the search for knowledge creates, while those on the left are voting for restricting that anger, egocentricity and alienation — one side is sympathetic to the corruption of self that the search for knowledge creates, the other is unsympathetic toward it. We suggest, again respectfully, that this deeper analysis allows not only the philosophical basis of the left and right to be understood, but also the apparent anomalies that you mention. It really is a new lens through which to view politics, one that comes from the basis of the human condition being understood. And so there is no political agenda in Griffith’s work. His only focus is to end human suffering at its source by explaining our ‘good and evil’-stricken human condition and reconcile all the issues that impact our lives, including politics, as our FAQs About Politics make clear.

Will this take a century and a half to sink in. I hope not. Kindness is productive in the long term. Can humans see past the immediate gains to long term benifites? One hopes so.
Thanks for the interview. Bless. Peace n joy.☮️🌏
WTM Admin
Thank you very much, Marc. While it will take generations to completely heal the human race, as Jeremy says in Freedom Essay 15, “the particular undeniable consequence of the arrival of understanding of the human condition of the transformation of our lives from living selfishly and competitively to living selflessly and cooperatively is going to eventually catch on as being the right response now for everyone and when it does, it will spread like wildfire across our planet, and save the world. And it is not a revolution that involves warfare and bloodshed like so many revolutions in the past, but a peaceful revolution that is driven by irrefutable knowledge/understanding. We humans are conscious beings and what consciousness needs is understanding, and now we have it. Ultimately, we humans respond to knowledge—anything less was bound to be ineffective. This is the real and lasting transformation that the human race has lived in hope, faith and trust would one day occur. It is the revolution of our minds.”

But…that’s not happening. Things are exponentially worse. Do we have to go through another world war before people have had enough of endless suffering? The utopia described will never happen unless everyone on earth receives these messages simultaneously. We’ve gone too far. We will destroy ourselves before we regain our freedom.
WTM Admin
It is true that the state of the world is dire, but take heart, Alice, because once this liberating understanding catches on, it will sweep across the world very quickly. And as you can see from the daily ecstatic responses on our homepage, the relief and excitement of finally be able to make sense of human life is already turning into a tidal wave of world-saving support!! As Part 4 of THE Interview and FAQ 1.40 explain, while the world is fast approaching a point of no return, this understanding will turn things around incredibly quickly, because it explains and solves the underlying cause of all our selfishness, anger and egocentricity. I’ve been trying to find this for some time now. And I had to lose myself for it to materialize. And my friends don’t believe anything they can’t hear, feel ,and see. But the more we begin to understand, it’s still against what we’ve been led to believe. I love the world, but once high population of humanity is present,it gets cruel. And ugly.
Avie Meshbesher
Very interesting perspective. If such a transformation could be achieved in many many many generations, and people were to find in themselves a basic human decency that lacks today in the majority of people, I do believe there will still be some genetically programmed people who are outliers, and programmed differently to be “evil”, cruel, sadistic, etc. But if this healing is indeed possible then they will be, as I said, outliers of the human population and not the norm. I am not sure how long this type of transformation would take, certainly not within my lifetime, but perhaps there is still hope for this very fascinating theory to take root amongst us humans. I will definitely share this perspective with others, most notably, a few psychiatrists I know.
WTM Admin
Thanks for your considered response Avie. We suggest that the more you digest Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation, the more you will realise how accountable it is in getting to the source of all humanity’s psychological upset, which in the extreme, produces people, even sadists etc, who are addicted to having power over others; see our FAQ 4.2 ‘How does this rehabilitate what we historically term ‘evil’’, which explains, “At long last we have the reason for humans’ capacity for shocking acts of cruelty, sadism, hate, murder and warfare—we now know the source of the dark volcanic forces in us humans.”
With regard for the time it will take for the upset within us to be completely healed, as Part 4 of THE Interview explains, it will take generations for that to happen, but it also stresses importantly we can be immediately free of its affects. At last we can understand our behaviour has been driven by a deep insecurity about our fundamental goodness or worth and so now that our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living. ‘Legitimately’ because we have the first principle science which liberates us to be honest about our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it. So instead of being focused on power, fame, fortune and glory, all our energies will be freed to truly work together on doing whatever it takes to end the suffering and save our world. How this healing is immediately open to us all is further explained in Freedom Essay 15 ‘How our lives can be immediately transformed’ and the Transformation section of our website is brimming with invaluable insight and personal affirmations.

WTM Admin
Hi Jack, sorry to hear about your issues, but very pleased that Jeremy Griffith’s biological explanation of the human condition is resonating with you. With regard to religion, this explanation reconciles science and religion by bringing biological understanding to pre-scientific concepts. In terms of Christianity and Christ, Jeremy considers the Bible to be a repository of extremely rare denial-free truth, containing all the truth about human life albeit from that pre-science view, and he has written about Christ’s life and its phenomenal importance in humanity’s journey in Freedom Essay 39. You would also find our FAQs about religion very interesting.

Wow, I’m absolutely amazed
Moki kiwa Whareaitu
Would you be able to organize for this to be explained in an indigenous way to help understanding it. Thankyou
WTM Admin
Thanks for your feedback Moki. We suggest that the fundamental explanation is very simple but, as explained in THE Interview, it does open up the historically off-limits subject of the human condition so people can initially struggle to access or ‘hear’ what is being explained. FAQ 1.16 further explains this initial ‘deaf effect’. However, where there are language barriers or specific cultural references that will help convey the ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation, then what we find is that people such as yourself who can understand the explanation can act as intermediaries, and convey this liberating breakthrough to indigenous communities.
With special regard to those peoples, what is so extraordinary about this information is that it means we can at last explain that the more innocent or sheltered ‘races’ (ethnic groups) have not been as exposed to humanity’s heroic battle to find knowledge as less sheltered races, and so they aren’t as psychologically upset as those less sheltered races. So, more sheltered races have more affinity with our instinctive soulful, cooperative way of living and nature and can still access that knowledge & wisdom. However, all humans are now part of the extremely upset stage of humanity, H. sapiens sapiens, and are therefore nowhere near as innocent as humans were some 2 million years ago when the battle of the human condition first emerged, and so this explanation of our ‘corrupted’ condition applies to indigenous peoples, just as much as it does to everyone else. Also, most significantly, what we can now understand is that despite the differing levels of upset due to everyone’s different encounters with humanity’s heroic battle to find knowledge, we are all equally good.

WTM Admin
While religions contained extraordinary truth about human life, it was all from a pre-scientific view, and that ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that clarifying difference means we can now understand that we had to defy our instincts, which is why this great breakthrough is described as ‘redeeming’. It follows that by finding the good reason we had to defy our instincts, we can reconcile ourselves with them, because all our defensive behaviours (our anger, egocentricity and alienation) are now redundant. We no longer need them because we have the real defense for why we had to defy our instincts. We recommend reading FAQ 6.3 ‘Does this undermine religion?’ where it is explained that, “The great founding prophets of religion actually looked forward to the arrival of the reconciling understanding of the human condition—which means supporters of religion shouldn’t see Jeremy’s scientific demystification of religious teachings as blasphemy, but as religious fulfillment!”

Better title for book - “HOPE for Humanity”.
“Freedom” to make duality choices has been humanity`s down fall
WTM Admin
There is a lot to think about here, Jack. The main thing we learn from understanding the human condition is that the conscious mind had to search for knowledge, in order to fulfil its potential. So, we can now see that the destruction and suffering brought about by the advent of freedom was, although tragic, absolutely necessary. Finally, however, we have the understanding that is needed to reconcile and rehabilitate humanity, and an amazing future beckons, free of the human condition. Which is why Jeremy’s book is called FREEDOM: The End of the Human Condition. It is exactly right.

Does aging bring us to this simple realization? As I no longer believe anyone is really bad. But that we each fight our own internal battle to BE PRESENT, and allow others to be present, real, themselves, human.
WTM Admin
Hi Deanna, thanks for your comment. Certainly we grow wise as we grow older, learning, as you say, that no-one “is really bad”. But ultimately, in order to bring about an end to the “internal battle”, we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy Griffith presents. Having this core mystery and problem about human behaviour solved ends all the conflict and suffering in human life at its source, and provides the now urgently needed road map for the complete rehabilitation and transformation of our lives and world! We , use the term
WOKE! to describe our understanding of what would change the dreadful conditions of humans...simply stated we can choose to respect all organic life as equal inhabitants of this planet..we humans can live on plant based diet..but are addicted to meat based diet..that would be a beginning..
WTM Admin
Hi Harold, as THE Interview explains, the only way we could legitimately “change the dreadful conditions of humans” and return to our original cooperative and loving state, where all of nature was respected, was by answering the essential question of why, when the ideals of life are to be cooperative, loving and selfless, are we so competitive, unloving and selfish? ‘Legitimately’ because at last we have the first principle-based science which actually resolves our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it and then trying to “choose” to behave respectfully. This is what biologist Jeremy Griffith’s treatise does and why it is heralded as being able to save the world. Having this core mystery and problem of our behaviour solved ends all the conflict and suffering in human life at its source, and provides the now urgently needed road map for the complete rehabilitation and transformation of our lives and world, so it couldn’t be a bigger breakthrough.
Also in Part 4 of THE Interview Jeremy explains the politically correct, ‘woke’ movement is not about understanding our condition — rather it is about denying and escaping it. To quote: “...the new age movement, the politically correct ‘woke’ movement, and all the other idealistic movements, were actually all false starts to a human-condition-free world because the upsetting battle to find knowledge, ultimately self-knowledge, the psychologically relieving understanding of why we are good and not bad, still had to be completed. In fact, while dogmatically insisting that everyone should be cooperative and loving could make you feel that you were doing good and be superficially psychologically very relieving, such insistence on ideal behaviour denied people the freedom of expression and individualism they needed to be able to continue the all-important upsetting search for knowledge. These movements were pseudo idealistic movements that stifled and oppressed the search for the understanding of our corrupted condition that was needed to actually free us from that state. They were regressive, not progressive as they deluded themselves they were...” We recommend THE Interview and also FAQ 6.5 ‘Is this just another self-help, New Age, pseudo idealistic, superficial-treatment-of-psychosis type movement?’, as both explain the important and critical difference between Jeremy’s biological explanation of the human condition and pseudo-idealism.

What a load of tosh. Sorry can’t get past the first episode.
WTM Admin
The human condition is the underlying problem in all human affairs so in explaining it aspects of human life, like politics, are naturally addressed and therefore relevant. We suggest watching the entire interview Chris because if you do it is clear there is no bias involved. What is presented is accountable first principle biological explanation as all the commendations Jeremy Griffith’s work has received from eminent scientists and thinkers attest, including from Professor Harry Prosen (a former president of the Canadian Psychiatric Association) who said, “I have no doubt Jeremy Griffith’s work is the holy grail of insight we have sought for the psychological rehabilitation of the human race”. In terms of politics Jeremy’s explanation of the human condition allows us to understand the real merits and liabilities of both the left and right wing. Basically his work brings profound understanding to both sides, which ultimately brings to an end the whole ugly business of politics. This is fully explained in our FAQs about politics. We also recommend Jeremy’s book, Death by Dogma which includes an analysis of Marxist thought. In it Jeremy emphasises that while it is easy to identify with the ideal of everyone being cooperative and loving, the whole objective of the human journey was to find understanding of why humans have not been cooperative and loving and instead so divisively competitive and aggressive. That is the great riddle of the human condition that had to be explained. Now at last we can understand why we humans have been competitive, aggressive and selfish, and, most wonderfully of all, by revealing that reason, the need for that divisive behaviour is ended.

I agree with his explanation of the human condition and it explains why I have always been a conservative but I never had the selfishness that all my friends had in order to be financially wealthy like they are. Even when they in a sense screwed even me to farther their own success even though it took away from my success. I never held it against them and their actions never stopped me from helping them succeed in life. Some how I knew the human condition existed without knowing what it was and dealt with it in a logical and right way. I guess I valued my friendships more than I valued my own success and financial freedom, which I feel is the cause of all the greed in the world. Thanks for airing the interview, I will be sharing this with all my friends and family.
WTM Admin
Thank you for your comment John, it’s wonderful you are inspired to share THE Interview with your friends and family! The human condition has been the underlying problem in all human affairs and now it is solved we can see that is what has truly been driving our selfish, greedy and power-hungry behaviour. As biologist Jeremy Griffith explains when humans developed a conscious mind some two million years ago, a battle unavoidably developed between it and our already established cooperative and selfless instincts. The result of this conflict between our instinct and intellect was an undeserved sense of guilt and insecurity that caused us to become psychologically upset — angry, egocentric and alienated — a state we sought to alleviate through a competitive, selfish and aggressive bid for the reinforcement we could gain from winning power, fame, fortune and glory. But now that we can explain and understand this conflict and the guilt it produced, all those insecure, defensive, egocentric behaviours are obsoleted, brought to an end, and we free ourselves from the human condition! We think you might enjoy reading FAQ 1.40 which addresses the questions of ‘How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’. It explains that “Even those who were most committed to defensively seeking validation through gaining power and material goods, including those entrenched in positions of power, will quickly realise how empty and obsolete that strategy is now that we have the fully accountable, psychosis-addressing-and-solving, real biological explanation of the human condition that proves our worth at the most fundamental level.” So take heart John as basically, so exciting and relieving is this breakthrough and the freedom from the human condition that is now on offer, that everyone will want it, and so it will catch on like wildfire and this is already happening!

Can’t wait
Todd
I never understood my disgust with us humans,
I always “knew” we were good!
We can do it again.
WTM Admin
Hi Todd, yes despite our competitive and selfish behaviour, we humans have always intuitively believed we were fundamentally good, but we have never been able to explain this contradictory, conflicted condition?! Ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why we are fundamentally good—answer the age-old question of why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents here. Now not only can we now understand that our original instinctive orientation is loving and cooperative, we can also understand that our competitive, aggressive, destructive, even seemingly ‘disgusting’ behaviour was an unavoidable, indeed necessary, part of human life. This understanding defends our so-called ‘dark side’ and explains that despite all appearances to the contrary, all humans are ‘good’. And by explaining the very good reason why our intellect had to defy our instincts, it makes redundant our defensive behaviours of anger, egocentricity and alienation, allowing us to return to the loving and cooperative state we crave! Importantly, this breakthrough explanation doesn’t condone or sanction the horrendous atrocities humans can commit (what historically has been termed ‘evil’) rather, through bringing compassionate understanding to the source of humans’ upset behaviour, it gives us the power to ameliorate and thus subside and ultimately eliminate it. We suggest FAQ 1.38 ‘Aren’t some people just born psychopathic, or even ‘evil’? / How does this explanation rehabilitate people capable of ‘evil’ behaviour? / Does this condone ‘evil’ behaviour?’

I’m looking forward to this video. I hope that it helps people understand their default views, and reactions especially those who only follow foundational beliefs and use those beliefs solely for to determine how they will have successful outcomes (job status, popularity, social acceptance etc.) All of the fake actions and all the insensitive insinuations they project to appear like they are superior etc….
WTM Admin
We suggest you won’t be disappointed after you watch THE Interview Tawanda! What is so important about biologist Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition is that it finally explains the real reason for why humans’ competitive and power-hungry behaviour became an unavoidable, indeed necessary, part of human life. He explains when the conscious mind went in search of knowledge a conflict between our cooperative instincts and intellect broke out, leading to an undeserved sense of guilt and insecurity that caused us to become psychologically defensive, angry, alienated and egocentric — the upset state we refer to as the human condition, a state we sought to alleviate through a competitive, selfish and aggressive bid for the reinforcement we could gain from winning power, fame, fortune and glory. Proving we were better than someone else gave us artificial validation and reinforcement to counter the deep insecurity we felt about having to become self-corrupted. And so competition, sustained by the incentives of materialism and capitalism, are what maintained humanity’s heroic search for knowledge, ultimately for self-knowledge. With our goodness and worth now biologically established, we no longer need to be preoccupied with proving our goodness and worth. Solving the human condition solves all the confusion, frustration and suffering in human life at its source so we can actually stop the destruction of ourselves and save the world. We suggest our FAQ 1.3 which presents a very brief summary of the key ‘instinct vs intellect’ concept, FAQ 1.6 titled ‘Why does understanding of the human condition solve everything?’ and FAQ 1.40 answers the questions ‘How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?'

The only thing missing in this explanation is God, and the fact that the only time that Adam and Eve realised their self consciousness was after they disobeyed Gods command. When they did that, then they realised they were naked.
WTM Admin
Hi Alberto, Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition brings biological understanding to religious accounts of our condition, which means we can at last reconcile science and religion. For instance, in THE Interview he explains ‘God’ as Integrative Meaning, which is the Negative-Entropy-driven, ordering, integrative, cooperative, unconditionally selfless and loving theme or purpose or meaning of existence (see FAQ 6.2 ‘What is God’). Also Jeremy’s treatise does bring new insight to the story of Adam and Eve, clarifying that while in the pre-scientific story Adam and Eve were portrayed as ‘bad’ or even ‘evil’ to take the fruit of knowledge, and treated as ‘sinful’, we can now understand that humans were ‘good’, even heroic, to search for knowledge, even though it caused us to become psychologically upset angry, egocentric and alienated sufferers of the human condition. As Jeremy says in Part 2 of THE Interview, “‘No, no, that story got it wrong’. Adam and Eve are actually not just good but the heroes of the whole story of life on Earth.” What science can now add to that pre-scientific description of the human condition is that our instincts in effect criticised the emerging conscious mind’s search for knowledge, but importantly, we can now understand that the conscious mind was right, or ‘good’ to defy our instinctive self in order to fulfil its great potential to manage life. While religious assurances, such as ‘God loves you’ in Christianity, provided comfort, they failed to explain WHY we are lovable, and it is that missing explanation that this breakthrough provides. And significantly, by bringing biological understanding to pre-scientific concepts it at last reconciles science and religion — but rather than threatening religions, what people discover is it is the fulfilment of a time that all the great prophets looked forward to when we could actually explain ourselves (see FAQ 6.3 ‘Does this undermine religion/God’).

I think the human condition cannot be completely solved by saying that humans arent evil. It will help a bit i think, but sometimes humane still be evil
WTM Admin
We suggest that the more you digest Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation, the more you will realise how accountable it is in getting to the source of all humanity’s psychological upset, which in the extreme, produces people who are capable of what we have described as ‘evil’. Of course this breakthrough explanation doesn’t condone or sanction the horrendous atrocities humans can commit rather, through bringing compassionate understanding to the source of humans’ upset behaviour, it gives us the power to ameliorate and thus subside and ultimately eliminate it, see FAQ 1.38 ‘Aren’t some people just born psychopathic, or even ‘evil’? / How does this explanation rehabilitate people capable of ‘evil’ behaviour? / Does this condone ‘evil’ behaviour?’.

Makes perfectly good sense. What have been the critical levers that has led our conscious mind to our current situation. Does the Culture of home, family, work .... and the egocentric drive for success play a role
WTM Admin
Thanks for your comment Glenn. As is explained in THE Interview, the ‘instinct vs intellect’ clash is what caused the human condition, which is manifest in our psychologically upset angry, egocentric and alienated behaviour. Of course, after some 2 million years (which is how long our species has been conscious), this instinct vs intellect clash now pervades and shapes all of our culture and everything we do. In fact, that upset ‘accumulates’ in the sense that someone born into a world that is already upset, will be traumatised and psychologically upset by that ‘historical’ upset, and then in turn pass that upset on to the next generation and so on. Which means that the particular “culture of home, family, work” can have a dramatic impact on an individuals exposure to the human condition, and therefore their subsequent levels of egocentricity and ‘drive for success’ in order to try to validate themselves. You might be interested in FAQ 1.37 ‘How much of our upset is caused by our own search for knowledge and how much is caused by the accumulated upset already in the world?’

Hi Jeremy, thank you so much this wonderful analysis and explanation of the human condition. I am sure you are aware that all these have been thoroughly treated and explained in Hindu religion and philosophy. I am sure you are aware of the oft-quoted phrase, “vasudev kutumbakam” - “the whole world is a family”. The Upanishads make this idea clearer by stating that one needs to achieve the state where the ‘l’ is merged with the ‘You’. Thank you once again for your beautiful expose. Stay blessed!
WTM Admin
Thanks Santosh. With regard to Hinduism, while religions contain all manner of truths about human life, it is all from a pre-scientific view. Ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish - why are we not ‘one big family’; why is the ‘I’ not merged with the ‘You’. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents in THE Interview and his book FREEDOM. We suggest FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this original or new?’ which explains the unique significance of Jeremy Griffith’s work.

In Charles Darwin notes just before he died he wrote I was wrong. Evolution will never be more than a theory.
WTM Admin
Some people have promoted the idea that on his death bed Darwin denounced natural selection, however it is not correct. The idea originates from a story told by Lady Elizabeth Hope to a devotional meeting in 1915, 30 years after Darwin’s death. Even ignoring the 30 year delay, the actual words that Lady Hope claims Darwin uttered do not reveal that he disowned his theory of natural selection. According to Lady Hope, Darwin said, “I was a young man with uninformed ideas. I threw out queries, suggestions, wondering all the time over everything; and to my astonishment the ideas took like wildfire. People made a religion of them.”
It also needs to be pointed out that nowhere in his autobiography, written in the years before his death, does Darwin disown his theory.
What is of much more importance is that since Darwin’s death, accumulating evidence has only cemented the truth of natural selection. To that point where, as was reported in Scientific American in 2009, “No educated person any longer questions the validity of the so-called theory of evolution, which we now know to be a simple fact. Likewise, most of Darwin’s particular theses have been fully confirmed, such as that of common descent, the gradualism of evolution, and his explanatory theory of natural selection.” (Ernst Mayr, Darwin’s influence on Modern Thought)
It is worth considering that with the human condition solved, a lot of things can be demystified and explained properly, and that does include ‘evolution’. We can now understand and admit that ‘development’ is a more accurate word than ‘evolution’, for while evolution implies that organisms do change or evolve it avoids acknowledging that there is a direction and purpose to that change, which is to develop the order of matter, a process that is driven by the physical law of Negative Entropy. Until we could defend our apparently divisive human condition, we have not been able to admit to this Integrative Meaning of existence, and so mechanistic science in particular has not been able to admit that evolution is a ‘developmental’ process not a random one. You can read more about this in Jeremy’s Freedom Essay 25: ‘The truthful biology: the real story of the development of life, including humans’. Similarly, we can finally understand that ‘God’ is our deification of the underlying theme of all existence of the integration of matter. You can read more about this topic in FAQ 6.2.

Thank you Nancy. One of the great benefits of understanding the human condition is that everyone can now appreciate everyone else with great empathy. To quote molecular biologist Dr Anna Fitzgerald from her commendation of this work: “because Griffith’s work establishes the equal worth or goodness of all humans we can now understand the different roles that men and women have traditionally played in the human journey and this is actually the unlocking point, this is what brings about deep empathy for each other, it heals the divide” — see Freedom Essay 9 about ending the war between the sexes.

We over the pat 100 plus years have been torn apart by the people who ruled our government, loss of moral code, separation from GOD. To examine people now, after that fact, Is to say we progressed these childish behaviors as a product of natural progress. We have not evolved in a normal fashion, We are broken, by design. No one can claim to fix or redirect a loss of moral code that was created by evil rulers of this world.
WTM Admin
Thank you for your comment Mike and we hope the following thoughts help with your consideration of this treatise. THE Interview explains all humans are born with loving moral instincts but we all now variously suffer from a psychosis due to the human condition, not just the overtly destructive “evil rulers of the world”, and as you digest this redeeming understanding you will realise that it is safe to connect with that fact. The issue of whether we are fundamentally good or bad has been the most unbearably depressing and terrifying of subjects to face, and until that question could be answered, which it has in THE Interview, we have lived with a feeling of unworthiness, insecurity, shame and guilt and, necessarily, in almost total denial of the human condition, so it does take a while to fully appreciate the extent of our denial.

Amazing explaination of Freedom for Human condition which as of today speaks about how mankind has grown and gradutated to become the most corrupted & selfish race by simply receiving gift of mind & intellect (Freedom to choose) as against the animals. Mankind by freely using this gift has fed their instincts in becoming savage with agressive behaviour. This inturn has given birth to a whole lot of turmoil within the state of our psychlogical being that has a concious mind, which is gene based and in the course of time becames the dictator with the help of nerve based misunderstanding with the influence of the outside world that we live in. Mankind was actually created to be peacful and morally good & loving. Having reached this understanding there is now always the great hope to reverse these conditions and get back to the the original state for the purpose for which we are created to live in love, peace and Harmony. Bible has it all to show us this path to reach the fertile soil and uproot all the miss-understanding to become a tree of life that never dies.
WTM Admin

Jeremy’s treatise actually reconciles science and religion by bringing biological understanding to pre-scientific concepts. You might be interested in our FAQs about religion. FAQ 6.2 for example, explains that, “Obviously what was desperately missing was the reconciling understanding of our upset behaviour and the Godly ideals; reconciling understanding of the human condition in fact—which is exactly what Jeremy Griffith presents us with.”

As psychiatrist Professor Harry Prosen, a former President of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, wrote: “the beauty of Griffith’s treatise is that the healing starts at the macro level of the universal human condition; the healing of the shame and blame that the whole human race has suffered from…It brings the greater context and love to all human psychosis and suffering, and then, from under the umbrella of that safe position, everyone can gradually work inwards to their particular experience of all the imperfections in human life that have now, finally, been made sense of” — see FAQ 1.34.In terms of politics Jeremy’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition allows us to understand the real merits and liabilities of both the left and right wing. This is fully explained in our FAQs about politics.I read the essay- you don’t have to reiterate his message that there’s a frequent conflict between instinct and intellect. You wrote: “Jeremy’s work ... establishes that we are good and not bad after all” This strengthens the problem, the whole good-bad paradigm. Yes, there are ways to raise kids so that much of the badness and shame is avoided, but kids are very quick to create meaning. They can easily accidentally create themselves as bad or worthless.
Agreed, but love can literally change the world and the human condition!

Heals my current conscious mind.... Thank you. Great!
But…that’s not happening. Things are exponentially worse. Do we have to go through another world war before people have had enough of endless suffering? The utopia described will never happen unless everyone on earth receives these messages simultaneously. We’ve gone too far. We will destroy ourselves before we regain our freedom.
Fantastic
And ugly.
Thanks for your considered response Avie. We suggest that the more you digest Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation, the more you will realise how accountable it is in getting to the source of all humanity’s psychological upset, which in the extreme, produces people, even sadists etc, who are addicted to having power over others; see our FAQ 4.2 ‘How does this rehabilitate what we historically term ‘evil’’, which explains, “At long last we have the reason for humans’ capacity for shocking acts of cruelty, sadism, hate, murder and warfare—we now know the source of the dark volcanic forces in us humans.”With regard for the time it will take for the upset within us to be completely healed, as Part 4 of THE Interview explains, it will take generations for that to happen, but it also stresses importantly we can be immediately free of its affects. It’s amazing
Found it very interesting and challenging. Looking forward to ideas, reading and learning all about this very exciting and interesting ideas. I am 93 years old raised for years about Catholic ideas. HAVE MANY INTERNAL ISSUES CONFRONTING ME AS I PREPARE FOR NEXT STAGE.
Would you be able to organize for this to be explained in an indigenous way to help understanding it. Thankyou
Also, most significantly, what we can now understand is that despite the differing levels of upset due to everyone’s different encounters with humanity’s heroic battle to find knowledge, we are all equally good.Second complete seeing
I’m excited to listen and learn about what all these people are so astonished by about who we are and why we are. Love deep inside spoken easily and understanding.

Hey, that is wonderful. I’m super interested, but I thought I was getting the book to start reading it and I don’t think I got it so if you’re still giving it away, I’d love to read it. Thank you very much. This is a wonderful work. I can’t wait to see it ciao.

Better title for book - “HOPE for Humanity”. “Freedom” to make duality choices has been humanity`s down fall
So true
This is extremely important and very educative.
love this
Does aging bring us to this simple realization? As I no longer believe anyone is really bad. But that we each fight our own internal battle to BE PRESENT, and allow others to be present, real, themselves, human.
It couldn’t be a bigger breakthrough
I appreciate you bringing in reality closer to my understanding. It’s the truth needed for our freedom. It’s a beautiful world but terrible without understanding self - human nature and environment.
Wow, it’s that simple! Thank you!
Thought provoking and mind blowing. I need to watch again to understand the situation more.
Its a lot off things to anderstand cause i am whit french langage but i anderstand a lot by my hart i will revues this video again its very interesting Thank you

Wow Out of this world.
We , use the term WOKE! to describe our understanding of what would change the dreadful conditions of humans...simply stated we can choose to respect all organic life as equal inhabitants of this planet..we humans can live on plant based diet..but are addicted to meat based diet..that would be a beginning..
They were regressive, not progressive as they deluded themselves they were...” We recommend THE Interview and also FAQ 6.5 ‘Is this just another self-help, New Age, pseudo idealistic, superficial-treatment-of-psychosis type movement?’, as both explain the important and critical difference between Jeremy’s biological explanation of the human condition and pseudo-idealism.Thank you Jeremy, I’m not bad, I’m basically good.and will carry this with me for the rest of my life, and will see others in a sympathetic way, thank you again.!
Excellent
Outstanding worth sharing world wide. Much thanks bless
Why introduce right and left wing? Or Marxism? Irrelevant content unfortunately revealing your own political bias. “Yep. That makes sense, Jeremy” Er, actually it doesn’t. Poor old Adam the Stork! He’s just a bird. What a load of tosh. Sorry can’t get past the first episode.
Brilliant.
The human condition is an eye opener to think beyond what we have been told to believe about humanity. Thanks for the revelation.
Look forward to reading the book

Enjoying the interview
I am about to listen to it Am very interesting as we need to find change to our present situation Thanking you
I agree with his explanation of the human condition and it explains why I have always been a conservative but I never had the selfishness that all my friends had in order to be financially wealthy like they are.
Can’t wait
I never understood my disgust with us humans, I always “knew” we were good! We can do it again.
A thrilling wave of inspiration washed over me! It sparked clarity on so many questions I’ve pondered for years, shedding light on our deepest desires and revealing the exhilarating journey toward understanding the human experience.
Powerful
So profound and empowering.
I’m curious

I am a human aspirant … I want to understand the human condition and its nature fully. It appears these interviews grant me the possibility. Thank you.
We send you all our encouragement Justin to investigate this explanation because very day more and more people are discovering the astonishing fact that biologist Jeremy Griffith has actually SOLVED the human condition! Excitement and meaning — based on liberating and truthful understanding of ourselves and our world — is now on offer! Yes, the best place to start is to watch THE Interview at the top of the World Transformation Movement homepage — HumanCondition.com — and from there the homepage guides you through the steps to pursue your interest.
Yes that’s about the truth for sure
I have enjoyed listening to Jeremy appear
The only thing missing in this explanation is God, and the fact that the only time that Adam and Eve realised their self consciousness was after they disobeyed Gods command. When they did that, then they realised they were naked.
Fascinating
Fantastic info
I have enjoyed listening to Jeremy Griffith on his topic and would like to know more about it as well as his work on the Human Condition. Thanks again for your insight, Mr. Griffith Kind regards, Stephan

We absolutely need it now
I think the human condition cannot be completely solved by saying that humans arent evil. It will help a bit i think, but sometimes humane still be evil
Fascinating discourse
I love you brothers and sisters, and I hear your voice and it is so beautiful I can’t control my happiness
I love this true finding because I have tried using my mind power to sometimes heal myself.
I have been looking for some of these answers my whole life. Thank you for the knowledge.
Thank you so much I have learned a lot. I’ll listen more than once, thank you so much...
Bull---t!
Makes perfectly good sense. What have been the critical levers that has led our conscious mind to our current situation. Does the Culture of home, family, work .... and the egocentric drive for success play a role
Every one needs to hear this
Absolutely amazing.
The interview blew my mind, it’s so amazing
Something is really happening. Opening the minds of the people about things that never been told
Very interesting!
You’re exactly right‼️ Thanks for the validation 💫
WOW! THANK YOU JEREMY. THIS IS PURE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH. WE ARE NOT BAD AS WE THOUGHT WE WERE AFTER ALL..TIME TO LIVE POSITIVE AND SHAKE OFF ALL NEGATIVITY.
Good it is no doubt!
Great book
Very interesting and enriching.
Yes. Yes.
Exciting information.
Thank you for your help! This world needs it for sure!
Thank you for spreading this everywhere
Agree congratulations
Perfect
In Charles Darwin notes just before he died he wrote I was wrong. Evolution will never be more than a theory.
People made a religion of them.”It also needs to be pointed out that nowhere in his autobiography, written in the years before his death, does Darwin disown his theory. What is of much more importance is that since Darwin’s death, accumulating evidence has only cemented the truth of natural selection. To that point where, as was reported in Scientific American in 2009, “No educated person any longer questions the validity of the so-called theory of evolution, which we now know to be a simple fact. Likewise, most of Darwin’s particular theses have been fully confirmed, such as that of common descent, the gradualism of evolution, and his explanatory theory of natural selection.” (Ernst Mayr, Darwin’s influence on Modern Thought)It is worth considering that with the human condition solved, a lot of things can be demystified and explained properly, and that does include ‘evolution’. You can read more about this topic in FAQ 6.2.Very helpful!!! Every second worth listening. For the human condition and reclaiming our soul..
Essential and Great 👍👍👍
Really interesting and I want to learn and know more
Wishing to explore this understanding

I’m in the United States Army Deployed to At-tanf Garrison Syria And my Husband sent this to me this will help our troubled marriage Thank you, GOD Bless you
Thank you Nancy.
This is the most interesting and understandable view I have ever heard of the human species! All truth!
Excellent research and helpful to mankind
Very impressive
I think this may be good for you to watch!
While Christianity and other religions contain all manner of truths about human life, it is all from a pre-scientific view. Ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy Griffith presents.Jeremy’s treatise actually reconciles science and religion by bringing biological understanding to pre-scientific concepts. You might be interested in our FAQs about religion. FAQ 6.2 for example, explains that, “Obviously what was desperately missing was the reconciling understanding of our upset behaviour and the Godly ideals; reconciling understanding of the human condition in fact—which is exactly what Jeremy Griffith presents us with.”I love this
