This is Freedom Essay 15

How understanding the human condition
can immediately transform your and
every other human’s life and save the world

Written by Jeremy Griffith, 2017

What is explained in this Freedom Essay (an outline of which was presented in Video/F. Essay 5) is more important than anything that is explained in any of the other F. Essays, aside from the actual explanation of the human condition that is presented in Video/F. Essay 3.

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

The finding of the biological explanation of the human condition makes possible the immediate transformation of your and every other human’s life from a human-condition-stricken state to a human-condition-free life of unimaginable happiness and excitement.

As this fully accountable, psychosis-addressing-and-solving, real biological explanation of the human condition (that was presented in Video/F. Essay 3) reveals, when we humans became fully conscious some two million years ago a battle for the management of our lives unavoidably broke out between our already established gene-based, naturally-selected instinctive orientations and our newly emerged nerve-based, understanding-dependent, self-adjusting, fully conscious mind. Unable to explain and understand why we had to challenge our instincts, we became psychologically retaliatory, defensive and insecureupset sufferers of the angry, egocentric and alienated human condition. But having now finally found the explanation for why we had to challenge our instincts, all the retaliatory, defensive and insecure upset anger, egocentricity and alienation can subside and heal. Understanding relieves and replaces the need to be retaliatory, defensive and insecure. As the great psychoanalyst Carl Jung was forever saying, ‘wholeness for humans depends on the ability to own our own shadow’our ‘shadow’ being the dark angry, egocentric and alienated aspects of our lives that we can now ameliorate with understanding. Humans can finally be rehabilitated from a psychologically upset existence to secure ‘wholeness’, health and happiness.

Professor Harry Prosen, former President of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, summarised the healing powers of this human-race-saving understanding of the human condition when he said: ‘I have no doubt this biological explanation of the human condition is the holy grail of insight we have sought for the psychological rehabilitation of the human race.’ (Read Prof. Prosen’s Introduction to the significance of FREEDOM in F. Essay 19.)

Prof. Harry Prosen, Former President, Canadian Psychiatric Association

Professor Harry Prosen

It’s true that while we now have the psychologically relieving understanding to rehabilitate the human race, the complete return to ‘wholeness’, health and happiness will take a number of generations. This is because it usually takes years of psychological healing for all the insecurities, confusions and misunderstandings and their effects to be replaced and repaired with understanding, so it follows that in the case of the largest psychosis of all of the human condition, that healing process will be a generational process.

HOWEVER, while our species’ psychological rehabilitation will take a number of generations, what is of immense importance and is so spectacularly wonderful is that every human can immediately know that he or she is fundamentally good and not bad, and that this knowledge puts each of us in a very powerful position because it means we can legitimately decide not to live in accordance with the upset within us.

Adam Stork - from living with the trauma of the human condition to living free of it

In the Adam Stork analogy this is the transition from the tortured angry, egocentric,
alienated state to the human condition-free state. See Video/F. Essay 3 for the explanation
of the human condition, including the Adam Stork analogy.

The logic behind making this decision is irrefutable: now that the great goal of the whole human journey of conscious thought and enquiry is achieved and we have found understanding of our conflicted and distressed human condition, all the old retaliatory, defensive and insecure behaviours of anger, egocentricity and alienation that we had to employ to cope while we couldn’t defend ourselves with understanding are no longer needed. They are obsoleted, brought to an end. In fact, with this knowledge of the human condition now found, it would be an act of total irresponsibility, indeed madness, to continue down that old, insecure, defensive and destructive road. The truth is, there is nothing in the way now of every human taking up a magnificent, unburdened, human-condition-free, transformed life!

And, gloriously, what happens when we give up our old way of living and take up the new way of living that understanding of the human condition has made possible, is we transition from a competitive and selfishly behaved individual to a cooperative and selflessly behaved person, a truly integrative part of humanity. Even though we are not yet free of the psychologically upset state of our own personal human condition, we can immediately have a change of attitude and decide not to live out that upset state that remains within us. The overall effect in our lives is that, despite our retention of the upset state of the human condition, we are effectively free from its hold and its influence, which is an absolutely fabulous transformation to have made in an instantin one simple decision!

You and every other human can, as it were, put the issue of all your upsets/corruptions in a ‘suitcase’, attach a label to it saying ‘Everything in here is now explained and defended’, and simply leave that suitcase behind at the entrance to what we in the World Transformation Movement (WTM) call the Sunshine Highway, and set out unencumbered by all those upset behaviours into a new world that is effectively free of the human condition. (Watch Jeremy Griffith explain how the Transformed Way of Living is adopted in Video/F. Essay 33.)

A road extending to the horizon over rolling green hills toward a brilliant rising sun.

Most significantly, this new Transformed Way of Living is fundamentally different to all the previous ways in which we abandoned our upset life and lived instead in accordance with more cooperative and selfless principles. As is described in F. Essay 35, there has been a progression of increasingly dishonest, deluded and dangerous ways of adopting a more cooperative and selfless way of livingfrom religion to socialism/communism to New Ageism to feminism to environmentalism to politically correct post-modernism. And as is explained in great depth throughout Video/F. Essay 14 and F. Essays 34, 35 & 36, what was increasingly dishonest, deluded and dangerous about all these movements was that they weren’t just promoted as ways of restraining upset, but as actual solutions to the upset state of the human condition. As the Adam Stork story in Video/F. Essay 3 is finally able to make clear, we humans had to be prepared to suffer becoming upset angry, egocentric and alienated while we searched for knowledge, ultimately for self-knowledge, understanding of the human condition. Therefore, dogmatic insistence on cooperative and selfless behaviour oppressed the freedom we needed to continue the upsetting search for knowledge. And to claim that dogmatic compliance with cooperative and selfless behaviour was the solution to upset behaviour was pseudo idealistic because real idealism depended on continuing the upsetting search for knowledge until we found the relieving understanding of the human condition. Understanding not dogma was the answer; it was our species’ goal and destiny. However, once that relieving understanding of the human condition was found, as it now has been, this situation fundamentally changes. Suddenly it’s no longer pseudo idealistic to insist on cooperative and selfless behaviour, because the upsetting battle to find understanding of ourselves has been won. So while all previous forms of abandoning our upset life were fundamentally irresponsible and pseudo idealistic, abandoning our upset life is now not only legitimate, it is the only way to live. The differences between the Transformed Way of Living and all other previous ways of abandoning our upset life are fully described in chapters 9:5 and 9:6 of FREEDOM. (As mentioned, F. Essays 14, 34, 35 & 36 explain the immense danger of left-wing dogma, with F. Essays 14 & 36 in particular explaining how the legitimate transformation that understanding of the human condition makes possible is the only way to save Western civilisation.)

Collage of images representing religion, communism, new age, gender equality, environmentalism and post-modernism

F. Essay 35 described the progression that has taken place over the last 200 years
to increasingly dishonest and deluded and dangerous forms of pseudo idealism

Now that the upsetting search for understanding of the human condition is complete, this transformed cooperative loving and selfless way of living will be taken up by everybody, bringing a complete end to upset behaviour. It stops upset behaviour in its tracks because there is no longer any justification for that behaviour to continue. Quite suddenly the whole human race becomes cooperative, loving and selfless, because there is no reason not to. All forms of competition, such as competitive sports, no longer take place. Trying to make loads of money so we can smother ourselves with material reinforcement no longer happens. Excessive preoccupation with how we look and dress ends. Essentially, focus on self stops and focus on the welfare of others and the world starts. We change from living selfishly to living selflessly.

The situation now that the human condition is solved and upset behaviour no longer has to occur is that practising upset behaviour and pursuing our old artificial ways of reinforcing our sense of worth unnecessarily only upsets and distresses us more; it merely feeds the now obsoleted monster of our insecure condition. Everyone, and the environment, needs relief from our egocentricity. Egocentricity has done its job; it is now retired.

Basically, preoccupation with achieving power, fame, fortune and glory in order to artificially bring us relief from the insecurity of our condition is obsoleted because we now have the real relief for that insecurity of first-principle-based biological explanation of our species’ fundamental goodness. Artificial ways of reinforcing ourselves are finally able to be replaced by the real reinforcement of the understanding of ourselves.

How quickly and completely this transformation is made obviously depends on the individual’s and the community’s degree of upset and insecurity. (F. Essay 28 explains how differences in levels of upset and insecurity can now be admitted, and how those differences are a result of how long the individual or community, or race, etc, had been subjected to life under the duress of the human condition.) The more upset and insecure the individual or the community, the faster and more complete the transition needs to be. For the less upset and insecure, the slower and thus less disruptive the transition can afford to be, but even for those who can afford to make a slower transition, they will soon realise that the transformation is unavoidable and should urgently be made.

It is this particular undeniable consequence of the arrival of understanding of the human condition of the transformation of our lives from living selfishly and competitively to living selflessly and cooperatively that is going to eventually catch on as being the right response now for everyone and when it does, it will spread like wildfire across our planet, and save the world. And it is not a revolution that involves warfare and bloodshed like so many revolutions in the past, but a peaceful revolution that is driven by irrefutable knowledge/understanding. We humans are conscious beings and what consciousness needs is understanding, and now we have it. Ultimately, we humans respond to knowledgeanything less was bound to be ineffective. This is the real and lasting transformation that the human race has lived in hope, faith and trust would one day occur. It is the revolution of our minds.

A gold key floating in space, orientated to be inserted in a key hole in the forehead of a woman.

Initially many people will think that life without the artificial reinforcement and relief for our now highly insecure and embattled lives from achieving success in competitions and acquiring material luxuries will be unbearable and unworkable. Initially, many will say, ‘It’s all very well to argue that our goodness and worth has been established at the fundamental level through understanding, but, as you have pointed out, that understanding will take generations to fully absorb and end all the insecurities within us, so aren’t we going to need the old artificial reinforcements we derived from achieving the likes of power, fame, fortune and glory while we are going through the absorption process? For example, when communism deprived people of the chance of achieving reinforcement from material fortune and glory, the people’s motivation for living was taken away and their societies foundered, so won’t trying to live without all our old artificial means of reinforcement similarly make our lives unbearable and dysfunctional? Even if, as you mentioned, we are able to slow the transition up somewhat to living without artificial reinforcement, isn’t any effort to live without it while we are still variously upset and insecure going to fail?’ Basically, as is explained in paragraphs 1208-1210 of FREEDOM, people will initially procrastinate about moving to the new ‘Transformed Way of Living’.

Drawings by J Griffith showing procrastination and transformation

What is missing from this kind of thinking is an appreciation of how awesomely wonderful it is to be free of the responsibility and burden of having to continue with the corrupting search for understanding of the human condition. It is true that when people experienced a religious conversion from living out their upset and instead deferred to a faith, or when people wholeheartedly joined a communist commune, or even a hippy commune, they did, to a degree, experience what it is like to be free of having to live in a mean and brutal competitive and selfish world where everyone is living out their insecure, upset, human-condition-afflicted angry, egocentric and alienated inclinations, but, as we can now clearly understand, those were situations where humanity’s great battle to find the redeeming understanding of the human condition was still to be won. This means that what these people were adopting and advocating were only pretences at living free of the burden of the human condition. They were, as was explained earlier (and is done more thoroughly in Video/F. Essay 14 and F. Essays 34, 35 & 36), dangerously deluded, pseudo idealistic, false starts to a human-condition-free world. In fact, what they were doing was so unreal it has seriously discredited what living free of the human condition is actually like. The transformation to a life that is actually free of the battle to find understanding of the human condition that is now available is a state of such relief, happiness and excitement it is almost more than the human body can endure. When we are ALL working together at last to care for each other and the world in a fully justified, no-irresponsibility-involved, all-other-ways-of-living-are-now-illegitimate, the-old-competitive-and-selfish-world-is-finished-with, the unshackled fellowship, happiness and excitement will be so good it will sustain everyone ten times over! Leaving the old human-condition-embattled world that the human race has had to live in is like breaking out of jail; better than that, it’s like being able to leave a cesspit of poisonous spew and excrement, because that in truth was how compromised, empty, deficient, soul-destroyed and horrible our human-condition-embattled lives have been. That old world really has nothing to offer now that the gates to the fabulous new human-condition-resolved, transformed world have been flung open. At this link (transformation/#transformation-affirmations) you can watch any of the other WTM members describing their transformation, and you’ll see something of what is on offer now. (Note, following the final Freedom Essay is a series of these personal Transformation Affirmations.)

Drawing by Jeremy Griffith of a jumping man with the text ‘WE ARE FREE’

As I wrote in paragraph 1166 of FREEDOM, ‘the excitement and relief of being effectively free of the human conditionthe joy and happiness of being liberated from the burden of our insecurities, self-preoccupations and devious strategising; the awesome meaning and power of finally being genuinely aligned with the truth and actually participating in the magic true world; the wonderful empathy and equality of goodness and fellowship that understanding of the human condition now allows us to feel for our fellow humans; the freedom now to effectively focus on repairing the world; and, above all, the radiant aliveness from the optimism that comes with knowing our species’ march through hell has finally ended and that a human-condition-free new world is comingCAN NOW TRANSFORM EVERY HUMAN AND THUS THE WORLD.’

The World Transformation Movement could be described as the most idealistic movement that has ever been, but that is because the human condition has been solved and it therefore now can and should be that idealistic and optimistic about our species’ future. We humans have won our freedom from the human condition. The way we have been living is finished with, it’s over. There is no longer any justification for it. A new way of living and world has been bornand, given how psychologically exhausted we humans now are, and how much devastation we have caused, its arrival comes only just in time!

Please please please, can the world hear this, because time is running out. Thats my prayer.

    • Barbara on January 4, 2018 at 12:03 pm

Yes. That is my concern also. Our Beautiful Planet, is hurting and unwell…
It is said, we are ‘running out of Time’ and that, The End Times, have already begun.
If we need several generations, to turn things around, how can that be ?
How does the Planet Earth heal in time ?
We may not be here….in which case ?
I’m only on Page 4 of my Freedom…but can’t wait, and appreciate already , just what an enormous Gift it is, and how grateful I am it came into my life.
I’ve always had a ‘saying ‘ circling in my head, and have occasionally passed it on.
‘When the scholar is ready, the Book will appear !’
This is not necessarily only applicable, to books, as such, but in the case of ‘Freedom’ and myself, it certainly is.

  • Ash on June 26, 2017 at 5:46 pm

This surely has to be the best news ever to hit planet earth. What more could you ask for than para 1166?

  • Annie on June 27, 2017 at 7:26 am

What an extraordinary journey humans have been on and how glorious a gift we all now have in being able to leave the psychological damage of that journey behind and move forward free of the burden of not knowing if we are fundamentally good or bad because we are all GOOD and we are all FREE!! These words in this email are golden and sum up how we are immediately transformed from living selfishly to living selflessly: “But while our species’ psychological rehabilitation will take a number of generations, what is of immense importance and is so spectacularly wonderful is that every human can immediately know that he or she is fundamentally good and not bad, and that this knowledge puts each of us in a very powerful position because it means we can legitimately decide not to live in accordance with the upset within us.”

I’d always considered Bob Marley a ‘new-age’, dope smoker whose message is just to chillax and be carefree which effectively means nothing and achieves nothing but when I read a famous quote of his recently “Emancipate yourself from mental slavery none but ourselves can free your mind…” and I related it to Griffith’s biological treatise it finally had true meaning. I realised that that ‘mental slavery’ of which we are all tortured by, we are now truly able to be emancipated from – but we actually have to use and implement the explanation in our lives. Otherwise it’s pointless. It’s no good being thrown a life jacket if you don’t put it on, without use, it’s mere existence is futile. So, as Griffith writes above our “psychologically retaliatory, defensive and insecure” state, our “angry, egocentric and alienated” behaviour can now “subside and heal”… if we let it.

  • Willow on July 2, 2017 at 3:14 pm

Another amazing email – these words: ‘We humans have won our freedom from the human condition. The way we have been living is finished with, it’s over. A new way of living and world has been born — and, given how psychologically exhausted we humans now are, and how much devastation we have caused, its arrival comes only just in time!’ I also just love the imagery, just beautiful!

  • Matt on August 9, 2017 at 12:11 pm

Hey I liked email 5 with Mr Tony Gowing, and I like this one too. Oh boy, the more I think about it, this one hits it right out of the park. Yeh, and that distinction between ‘pseudo idealism’ (what a great description) and this transformation is important. I dont really know what more to say about this email. It is an avalanche of logic. Wow. WE ARE FREE. Just go with the flow.

  • Cynthia Negrete on August 14, 2017 at 4:31 am

This is a lot of information but does make sense. What is so frustrating about being human…is the ones who need to come to this conclusion…will be putting up the biggest fights! The ones entrenched in their culture, religions, etc..etc….I believe most humans try to do good and want a simple life…love, work, homes, travel…have new experiences…its the minority that are so ego based that do a lot of damage still.

I had a thought this week…if females did rule the World, we would have evolved past this money system a long time ago! Money is so entrenched in our reality….can we imagane a World without it? Now…it always boils down to these pieces of paper that keep us slaves!!

  • Susy on August 14, 2017 at 4:44 pm

I relate to your comment Cynthia because I would have made a similar one once, but the human condition exists in us all, it is universal. We all have within us an extraordinary capacity for love/ ‘good’ and a capacity for hate/ anger/ ‘evil’, and this is what we need to bring UNDERSTANDING to, to make any change to all the destruction we see around us and within us.
This is an important quote from para 271 of Freedom, “…And it can now be understood that this capacity for inhumanity exists in us all—as the author Morris West so bravely acknowledged in his memoir, A View from the Ridge: ‘brutalise a child and you create a casualty or a criminal. Bribe a servant of the state and you will soon hear the deathwatch beetles chewing away at the rooftrees of society. The disease of evil [now able to be understood as upset] is pandemic; it spares no individual, no society, because all are predisposed to it. It is this predisposition which is the root of the mystery [of ‘evil’ that is now explained]. I cannot blame a Satan, a Lucifer, a Mephistopheles, for the evils I have committed, the consequences of which have infected other people’s lives. I know, as certainly as I know anything, that the roots are in myself, buried deeper than I care to delve, in caverns so dark that I fear to explore them. I know that, given the circumstances and the provocation, I could commit any crime in the calendar’ (1996, p.78 of 143).
And I’ll make another amazing statement for a once-feminist, through this information the WTM presents, I have been able to understand that men have been doing the most heroic job on the planet, albeit one that causes immense upset. There has been a great battle going on on this planet (which women have been unavoidably blind to) to find understanding of ourselves for 2 million years (a simple explanation of this is found in this essay above) and it fell on men’s shoulders to carry this out. The significance of this breakthrough is that finally that understanding of ourselves has been found and we can finally make sense of all the anger, egocentricity and general horror, in fact it is revealed there has been the most amazing, glorious reason for it all. That’s what leads us out of there — understanding not dogma. Humanity has tried the path of trying to just ‘make the world ideal’ that you suggest (and I would have once) for generations and it has failed, it isn’t leading us anywhere but actually the wrong direction (as is mentioned above in this email, and in more detail in essay 35). In terms of materialism and it’s importance, para 1224 of ‘Freedom’ is worth reading as it is revealed as an unavoidable consequence of this great heroic battle. Now the battle to find understanding is won a whole new peaceful, equal, solution-based, transformed world opens up for all humans and it’s breathtakingly wonderful as this essay above describes. There’s a lot of ‘blasphemous’ stuff here Cynthia to swallow from our various positions, so if you ever want to discuss it more I am active on the Forum on this website. There is so much to discuss and learn with this whole new amazing paradigm!

You certainly have a right to be skeptical Bill, big claims they are indeed, but what is so significant about Jeremy Griffith’s books is that they present a first-principle, rational, testable, scientific understanding of the human condition that finally makes sense of this paradox of the human condition, how we humans are good when we appear to be the complete opposite, which makes possible the transformation described in the above essay. We encourage you to discover for yourself, the irrefutable logic of Jeremy’s actual instinct vs intellect explanation of the human condition which is briefly summarized in F. Essay 3 here: or further in the booklet, Transform Your Life And Save The World. I should also say the WTM is a not-for-profit organisation and makes all its material freely available for everyone to access on its website at

I have been discussing the the broader topic of human behaviour, our condition and the nature of existence with my brother Sam for a number of years and admit that it has at times been difficult to ‘wholly’ embrace the information now at hand.

As a Father of 4, friend to many, husband to 1 (thank God!), owner of a business and much more in life it’s been difficult to allocate the time and effort required to better understand and appreciate the significance and truth of what is on the table.

I’m getting there slowly but surely but also wanted to say great work guys. You are absolute hero’s and an inspiration to those of us who occasionally hit a brick wall but know we must keep moving forward.

    Regards, Ari

  • Ari Akritidis on April 14, 2018 at 7:57 am

Bill if you’re still listening, I don’t think you’re malicious or inappropriate at all.

When my brother first introduced me to the concepts of the human condition and Jeremy’s work by way of ‘A Species in Denial’ I read the whole book in 3 weeks and understood absolutely nothing. I said to Sam, words to the effect, that is a poorly written book, explains nothing and makes no sense. I didn’t even find a definition of what the human condition was in over 500 pages of reading and really concluded it was a total waste of my time.

The problem was that I read the book reluctantly and without an open mind for ‘learning’. I now know my resigned brain was intent on denying the information. I remember saying to him back then, I don’t really care or need this information. I have a great wife, nice home, my health, good friends and generally love life (I’ve always been a glass half full sort of person). I’ll make it regardless.

What a load of crap! We are an intelligent species and of course we need to understand our nature and our purpose. WIthout knowing why we’re here, it’s inevitable that we will self-destruct and take everything in our path. That’s precisely where we’re headed as we speak.

After 12 months of listing to my brother, I thought I’d read the book again. Well my God! Wow! It was like I read a different book. The human condition was clearly articulated on page 27 (I think), and the book made alot more sense. And so my 10 year journey begun. Nearly every criticism I made about the book was incorrect. It was like I was blind the first time I read it. I couldn’t believe it.

My personal experience is that it is not easy to understand, accept and apply the concepts in the early stages without alot of nurturing, support and explanation from others. I’m lucky I had my brother who just kept chipping away otherwise I too would probably have walked away.

After 10 years of listening to him babble on day in day out, I think I’ve made it. I’m free. I’m totally free mate and let me tell you, it’s the best feeling in the world, even better than when Collingwood won the Grand Final in 2010!.

My advice to you. Give it another go. Start with the Adam Stork storey because it makes so much sense that the problem begun with the inherent conflict between our instinctive self and our intellect (search for knowledge). Think about how you feel when you are in close contact with nature (hiking, fishing, camping, waterfalls, lighting a night time fire) and if you agree that you feel happy in that environment, then you’re half way there because that is our natural home and that’s where it all begins. Good luck.

  • Roger on April 15, 2018 at 2:10 pm

I just wanted to say I really hope Bill is still watching because that was such an honest and genuine attempt to help Ari.
I can relate to nearly everything you had to say and agree entirely that reading the book with a willingness to understand it, not necessarily agree but to understand, is a critical point and the Adam Stork story was also the take off point for me, just the simple 1 page analogy.
Ari I think you’ve given Bill exactly the kind of help your brother gave you and I hope that Bill hangs in there … keeps learning more by reading material or watching videos and in the end feels the awesome freedom that you’re talking about.
Thanks so much for that comment Ari, because hearing the story of a particular person from start to finish (or well down the track) like yours is really helpful / inspiring.

    • Tommy on April 28, 2018 at 12:21 pm

Hello to you Sarrah! I really agree with your sentiments. It is an amazing situation now that biological explanation of ourselves exists, finally all the confusion, madness and suffering is made sense of — finally we can actually biologically understand that we are good and not bad. It has been such a long and arduous journey for humanity … but we are alive as you say, humanity has made it to our destiny of self-enlightenment thanks to these reconciling understandings. And yes ‘so many possibilities’ open up now, they are real and endless, a whole new world free of the human condition exists right now, it IS heaven on Earth and it’s on for young and old!

I just wonder why you single out the mention of communism as a faux solution to the issues that we face. Do you then see a form of capitalist system as the answer in the new way of doing things? I wonder as, after all, we are here today in capitalistic systems that have wreaked havoc upon us. Maybe the healing of the human condition offers us a new way of living and being.

    • Susan on July 28, 2018 at 9:52 am

Hi Nigel. Thank you for your interest in the WTM. Yes now that we have understanding, reconciling and redeeming understanding of the human condition, a whole ‘new way of living and being’ does open up for all humans. However, as Jeremy explains in FREEDOM, to be able to move on from the human condition it is first necessary to get the truth up about every aspect of our troubled human condition, including the nature of politics. We recommend you read Freedom Essays 14 and 34 Nigel as they expand on the topic of the merits and liabilities of both the left and right wing in society and in doing so Jeremy explains the real danger the left wing dogma poses for the human race. Thankfully, as Jeremy says, understanding of the human condition brings to an end the whole ugly business of politics. To quote a little from Freedom Essay 34, “As summarised in paragraph 1136 of FREEDOM, the final irony of the saga of humanity’s great journey from ignorance to enlightenment is that the ideal world that the left-wing was dogmatically demanding is actually brought about by the right-wing winning its reality-defending, freedom-from-idealism, corrupting-search-for-knowledge battle against the freedom-oppressing pseudo idealistic dogma of the left-wing. Yes, with the freedom-from-dogma right-wing’s search for understanding of the human condition completed, the justification for the egocentric power-fame-fortune-and-glory-seeking way of life espoused by the right-wing ends, replaced by the ideal-behaviour-obeying attitude that the left-wing sought. In this sense, when the right-wing wins we all become left-wing; through the success of the philosophy of the right-wing, we all adopt the ideal values sought by the philosophy of the left-wing—but, most significantly, this time we are not abandoning an ongoing battle, we are leaving it won.” And leaving it won we can now do, the new solution-based paradigm this information opens up is simply amazing, truly and legitimately liberated we all are!

Interesting ‘take’ on Marxism. Marx reckons capitalism exists and is necessary to give our world the technological advances and progress we all benefit from. Inevitably, the competitive nature of capitalism leads to it’s own destruction and in it’s defeat, it is replaced with socialism. However, you are suggesting that the right-wing materialist philosophy defeats the left-wing idealist philosophy and we all become left-wing ?

        • Susan on January 24, 2019 at 2:41 pm

Hi Ronald. While it is true that capitalism promotes technological advances and progress, the real reason for its existence is, as Jeremy explains in Part 7:3 of ‘Freedom: Expanded Book 1’ for example, that capitalism, and the exchange of money and capital it facilitated, provided the relief, reward and distraction of materialism/material goods without which humans would not have been able to cope with and carry on their upsetting, idealism-defying, heroic search for knowledge. Certainly, as Marx identified, the competitive nature of capitalism would eventually lead to it becoming too corrupt, and it would be replaced by more left wing structures, but most importantly, that doesn’t mean that the right wing approach was wrong. As Jeremy says in par 1119 of ‘FREEDOM’, ‘So while the greed of capitalism is certainly causing immense suffering and devastation, it is not greed that is taking the world to the brink of destruction, as everyone has been told’. No, we had to find understanding of the human condition if destruction was to be averted, and the right wing, by allowing egocentric, materialistic behaviour, fostered that search, whereas the left wing inhibited it.
You will also be interested to read the whole of Freedom Essay 34 Ronald, which is where the quote above comes from, and the prior paragraph says: ‘So while pseudo idealism has given idealism a bad name and horribly discredited the real start to a human-condition-free world, now that the understanding of the human condition needed for that real start has been found, the great transformation of the human race from the upset state of the human condition can and has legitimately begun—and with that understanding of the human condition found, the delusion of the left-wing is exposed and the work of the right is completed, which thankfully brings an end to the whole ugly business of politics.’ So yes with the human condition explained and thus ended, along with all its consequences including politics, we do all become ‘left wing’ but not with any delusion or dogma involved. The future is all about self-knowledge and understanding. As Jeremy says in FAQ 6.5 which explains how the WTM is entirely different from new age movements, humans must ‘understand their way to freedom’.

How timely that I should find this guidance. I have questioned and pondered about human behaviour since I was a teenager. Keen observer of human and my own self, I came up with many hypotheses in attempt to explain that confused egocentric creature. When I went through a serious burnout and depression I was forced to go deeply inward to find simplicity and my humaness. What this book teaches is exactly what I am attempting to do at this moment. I am returning to my goodness and what a gift to have found this book to guide me. Thank you!

  • Barbara Brown on November 26, 2018 at 5:09 am

This all sounds so wonderful! When I was 13 I had a dream. The charge given in the dream was that if I could find civilization not only will my life be longer and better but so will everyone else’s. (It takes about 20 minutes to share the very visual and narrated dream – much longer if I add insights gained over my 56 years since.) I have spent my whole life searching, creating, thinking, experimenting and applying what I have learned to my “mission”. When the egotism, greed, frustration, disappointment, and anger would arise, often I have been able to switch the circumstances by consciously remembering my mission, and following the feelings of empathy, compassion and insight on how to respond (i.e. they no not what they are doing”). Yet, I also often come to a point of knowing more could be achieved toward finding civilization if only I knew where, or who to go to for guidance – or to give them the opportunity to use their talents and skills to complete the specific tasks to benefit others.
So, how can I complete my transformation and provide for my family, help others, and maintain my food, shelter and ultimately “FIND CIVILIZATION.” (803-968-0388)

    • Tommy on November 26, 2018 at 11:54 am

What a wonderful dream and mission you have had through your life Barbara. Reading it I thought you would enjoy very much the quote from Olive Schreiner that Jeremy uses in his book ‘Freedom Expanded’. I won’t quote it here because it is too long, but Jeremy’s introduction to it is as follows (and you can find the quote at the link at the end): ‘Olive Schreiner, a famous South African writer who, on her deathbed in 1920, wrote a deeply reflective essay in which she was able to recall her childhood struggle with the issue of the human condition. She told how, as a little girl ‘not yet nine years old’, she was overcome with distress about all the selfishness, meanness and cruelty in the world. Remarkably, while Schreiner wasn’t able to find understanding of all the wrongness in human behaviour, she did manage to achieve, through the inspiring beauty of nature, some peace of mind by realising that a greater meaning did lie behind all the apparent wrongness and suffering in human life.’
And yes your search to ‘find civilisation’ has been fulfilled through this biological understanding of ourselves, the human condition has been solved! We can all finally know our fundamental goodness and that the whole journey of life has been an incredibly heroic and worthwhile one. This knowledge puts humanity in an incredibly powerful situation and a whole new world and civilisation opens up across the planet. Redeemed, reconciled transformed and united we all leave the barren grounds of the human condition into a whole new world of freedom! All we have to do is spread this information far and wide so everyone has heard about it and that starts with continuing to digest and becoming familiar with the ideas themselves. On the homepage it says that the first 4 videos are key and that’s a great place to start Barbara. I hope you continue as it really is the most incredible time to be alive!

      • Ruby on August 19, 2019 at 8:39 am

It helps explain why we continue do what we know is wrong, whilts also at the same time can be loving and looking out foe the needs of others.
But how do we forgive ourselves when our conscience condems us. Its a dailt battle enen if just being over comptitive to win a game.

        • Tommy on August 19, 2019 at 9:34 am

The amazing significance of this biological explanation for me Ruby and Anna is that it brings understanding to WHY we do ‘wrong’, why we are so competitive, selfish and upset as a species when the ideals, and our own instincts, are to be so cooperative and loving. This FAQ is a brief description of Jeremy’s explanation of the human condition which I think you will both find helpful ( as well as watching the first few videos on the homepage. The more familiar you get with these ideas the more you will see for yourself that there is actually a wonderful reason for all the upset in the world, the ‘good’ and ‘evil’ in humans is now biologically explained and reconciled, our instincts no longer ignorantly condemn our intellect, and the intellect no longer has to prove it’s worth. We can finally know in the deepest part of ourselves that we are loveable and we are worthwhile. We can know that our psychological upset (and subsequent strategies to cope) was the price humans had to pay for searching for knowledge and that the human story presents the greatest, most heroic story ever told. That is the macro truth that looks after all humans now and we can treat our bruised and broken selves with great compassion and kindness. And the best part is that with this understanding of ourselves, our upset can now ALL end! Absolutely all of it, all fear and pain, all the suffering, selfishness, hatred, competitiveness, all our coping mechanisms all goes because they obsoleted with this self-understanding. The human mind finally understanding and we can be at peace, and an amazing future opens up for us all now all together again. I dearly hope you can both hold on to that.

        • Anna on January 30, 2020 at 5:34 am

That’s what I need to know, Ruby.. What if you have been running away all your life, using drugs, sex, alcohol and ending up in abusive relationships trying to avoid facing life… So hurt and damaged that you are shunned and avoided, but also too ashamed and frightened to even try to join the dance once more., all you want is for the pain to go away and sleep

    • Susy on December 20, 2019 at 4:56 pm

Just had to add a comment Ron that it’s great to hear of your enthusiasm but I thought it might be important to stress that the transformation that this information brings about is very different to anything that has come before it like with religions or the new age movements as this Essay touches on. The differences are much more thoroughly explained in Part 3 of Jeremy’s book “Transform Your Life” where he outlines the six fundamental differences Of note, is that this transformation is all knowledge driven, it actually represents the end of faith and dogma, as this Essay says “Understanding not dogma was the answer; it was our species’ goal and destiny.” And it’s also so clear that there was a lot of dishonesty and delusion involved in deferring to a religion and the new age movements but this transformation is virtually free of both. This understanding of the human condition is incredible mind-food, and just so fulfilling and empowering, I dearly hope you keep absorbing it!

AT LAST, the real instruction book for our species!
in the words of John Lennon,
“Imagine all the people, living life in peace”
“Imagine no possession, I wonder if you can?”
    ” A brotherhood of man”
” I hope someday you’ll join us, and the world will live as one.”
This book and wonderful essays tells us how.

Great reading thank you. I can now see why A Course in Miracles didn’t work for me. I completed the365 day course three times. After reading this it becomes clear that without the explanation of why we are so upset it could only act as a sticky plaster with the ’scream’ still going on underneath.
