Every truth is Spiritual

WTM Admin

The study of the human condition is the realm of inquiry where science and religion overlap, so now that we can biologically explain the human condition, the role that religion, and the spiritual aspect of life, is also demystified; and it is revealed that not only are the universal ideals that religion has upheld for humanity confirmed, but we also now have the fully rational, compassionate and redeeming explanation for our divisive upset behaviour. Great wisdom can be found in some spiritual teaching, but ultimately our thinking mind needed understanding—specifically, scientific understanding of why when the ideals are to be loving and selfless are we so competitive and selfish? This is what Jeremy Griffith’s treatise does and why it is heralded as the breakthrough that can save the world. You can read about the reconciliation of science and religion that is now possible in FAQ 1.15 and FAQ 6.2.

Marshall Bertram

Profoundly simple once explained and as assuredly as accurate as mathematics

WTM Admin

Yes, the explanation of the human condition is completely logical and accountable and is based on biological first-principles. And there is not an analysis or ramification that doesn’t logically follow from that core explanation of the human condition. Truly this is the end of faith and the beginning of knowing.

Bill Shelton

How are we going to get the whole human population together to try and understand the human condition. Wonderful interview.

WTM Admin

Thank you, Bill. Yes, finally being able to understand the human-condition-battle between our instinct and intellect is immensely relieving and once people gain an appreciation for how all-clarifying, all-reconciling and all-liberating this knowledge is, it will spread quickly. As with any new scientific breakthrough it will take time to reach the whole world but with enough people developing a deep appreciation and desire to support it our problems will be solved very quickly (see FAQ 1.6), and as the ecstatic responses at the top of our homepage show, every day more people are discovering the astonishing explanatory power of this understanding. You might like to join the excited discussion taking place by registering for our live events with Jeremy Griffith and join our popular WTM Facebook Group.

Excellent interview

Graça Souza

Fantastic explanation. Eve was really the name of the first women ...??

WTM Admin

Thanks Graça. As Part 2 of THE Interview explains, the story of Adam and Eve is a pre-scientific metaphor for the emergence of consciousness and its clash with our pre-established, cooperative loving instincts, resulting in humans becoming psychologically upset or ‘sinful’ or ‘evil’ (so shouldn’t be taken literally). However, significantly we can now understand, from scientific first principles, that ‘Adam and Eve’ were ‘good’ to search for knowledge, not bad or ‘evil’; we humans are actually the absolute heroes of the whole story!

Is it possible that the Australian Aboriginals were living in a world not fully dominated by consciousness when the white people arrived? Were they living in a garden of Eden avoiding the need to steal from the tree of knowledge? The need to understand cause and affect somewhat overshadowed by the Dreaming explanation of the world. It would be good to understand better why they lived the way they did which was so different to how much of the rest of the world lived. At the very least we should recognize how important understanding their culture may be if we are to move towards a more nurturing culture that recognizes the finite nature of our resources and how we share them. I would like to see aborigional elders and thinkers get involved in this discussion before it is forgotten.

WTM Admin

At last with Jeremy Griffith’s instinct vs intellect explanation of the human condition we can understand that while all humans are now fully conscious and part of the extremely upset stage of humanity, H. sapiens sapiens, and are therefore nowhere near as innocent as humans were some 2 million years ago when the battle of the human condition first emerged, there are more innocent or sheltered ‘races’ (ethnic groups), like the Australian Aboriginals, who have not been as exposed to humanity’s heroic battle to find knowledge as less sheltered races, and so they aren’t as psychologically upset as those less sheltered races. So yes, more sheltered races have more affinity with our instinctive soulful, cooperative way of living and nature, however they are still fully conscious and very psychologically embattled. However, most significantly, despite the differing levels of upset due to everyone’s different encounters with humanity’s heroic battle to find knowledge, we are all equally good. You might like to read our FAQ 9.1 about how this puts an end to racism and for a testimonial on the power of this knowledge to end racism, we recommend the presentation from Franklin Mukakanga, of Zambia, in Video/Freedom Essay 8.

Guy McKinnon

You are the true saviour of the human race! Thankyou

WTM Admin

Thanks for your comment Guy. Just to clarify, as is explained in Part 2 of THE Interview it is science that is the saviour or liberator of mankind. Craig Conway summarises that, “science’s discovery of the way genes and nerves work has finally made it possible for the liberation of humanity from the horror of the human condition”, to which Jeremy Griffith replies, “Yes, that is the essential truth: science is the liberator, the so-called ‘messiah’ or ‘redeemer’ of humankind, as we always hoped it would be!”

Those narrative and thought system of humans as aggressive was not bought by all cultures but typically Europeans who aggressively destroyed Africa through the slavery and high appetite to take all the God’s given resources. This aggression can be found in America, Australia, Canada, South Africa, India and Africa where Europeans have been destroying. Africans are not that same backgrounds of aggression and greed.

WTM Admin

Whilst various cultures and individuals have recognised humans’ cooperative and loving origins, the truth is that all humans are now to some extent psychologically upset, and therefore are all variously angry, aggressive and egocentric. Certainly there are different levels of upset, for example between Africans and Europeans etc, but when you factor in that different individuals and Ethnic groups have different levels of exposure to the human condition (due to their circumstances, some individuals or races have been more sheltered than others), you can see that the basic instinct vs intellect clash does account for all the different levels of aggression (in fact different levels of psychological upset) we see around the world. Most importantly, the key, compassionate insight that upset is not ‘bad’ allows us to reconcile the more upset with the less upset, which puts an end to all prejudices, see FAQ 9.1 about racism for example. We also recommend the presentation from Franklin Mukakanga, of Zambia, in Video/Freedom Essay 8.

James baird

I have a question!! What if an individual is born into a world of no love or nurture ie: unwanted, how do these people change their depressive consciousness, I’m not the only one!!

WTM Admin

Thank you for your question James. The human condition has been such a deeply tragic journey full of so much unthinkable pain and suffering, especially for children, it really is almost too much to bare. What is significant about being able to understand the human condition is we no longer have to be burdened by the fundamental question we all have struggled with of whether we are good or bad anymore because our fundamental goodness as a species has been biologically established (which THE Interview and Video/Freedom Essay 3 summarises). That macro truth looks after all humans now and we can treat ourselves with great compassion and love ourselves at last because we now know that what happened to us as infants was not because we weren’t good enough or that we were unlovable but rather because the human condition caused a level of upset in humans that was so great they weren’t able to give the love our instincts expect. You may find psychiatrist Professor Harry Prosen’s response to the question ‘How does understanding the human race’s condition help with an individual’s depression and psychosis? helpful – see FAQ 1.34; and FAQ 1.35 ‘Does this heal anxiety?’ is also extremely helpful. Explaining the human condition necessarily exposes the level of upset within ourselves and the world and importantly we don’t have to overly confront that upset within us as FAQ 1.19 ‘A caution about the danger of over-exposure / Advice for people with mental health issues’ summarises.

Peaks my interest! Want to read. I’ve been crazy all my life..could you put some light on that...most of time on island all my own. Thank you

WTM Admin

As THE Interview explains all humans suffer, to varying degrees, from the universal psychosis caused by the clash between our instinct and intellect which significantly can be healed through understanding. Understanding why, when the ideals are to be loving and selfless, are we so competitive and selfish, gives us the ability, for the first time, to understand every aspect of human behaviour including our immense loneliness. As distinguished psychiatrist Professor Harry Prosen (who wrote the foreword to Jeremy Griffith’s definitive book FREEDOM) said: “What Griffith is presenting is understanding of the source insecurity that the whole human race suffers from for having destroyed our species’ innocent soul. It is a universal self-blame that his understanding at last provides healing insight into. All human behavior is saturated with that universal insecure, depressing state and resulting anger, egocentricity and alienation that has developed from it, but we finally have the compassionate foundation insight needed to dismantle all that ‘upset’/psychosis. So the real psychotherapy of our collective and individual psychoses can begin” see FAQ 1.34.     Also, as THE Interview stresses we no longer have to be burdened by the fundamental question of whether we are good or bad because our core goodness as individuals and as a species has been biologically established. We can understand humans’ psychological upset was the price we had to pay for searching for knowledge and that the human story presents the greatest, most heroic story ever told. So we can bring great compassion and kindness to ourselves and others and we don’t have to overly confront the upset within us which is important for everyone to be mindful of (as FAQ 1.19 ‘A caution about the danger of over-exposure / Advice for people with mental health issues’ summarises).

Bonobos are not peaceful. They still FIGHT and kill one another. They only keep in line because the females will kill them if they don’t.

WTM Admin

While there are remnants of selfish reciprocity, sexual opportunism and aggression in bonobo behaviour, as indicated in THE Interview they are extraordinarily nurturing, and extraordinarily gentle and cooperative. When comparing them with the far more violent chimpanzees for example, the leading anthropologist and bonobo researcher Brian Hare observed that, “There has never been a recorded case in captivity or in the wild of a bonobo killing another bonobo”. Jeremy Griffith further evidences how cooperative and loving bonobos are in chapter 5 of his book FREEDOM and explains bonobos demonstrate the nurturing based love-indoctrination process that created our cooperative instincts, the ‘voice’ or expression of which is our conscience. The conditions required for the love-indoctrination process are very rare and it was dependent on the society being matriarchal in order to contain sexual opportunism and select for more cooperative mates. The evidence is that of all the primates, only our ancestors completed the love-indoctrination process, and it is this that distinguishes humans from other primates and animals. (see also see FAQ 5.2 ‘What do bonobos tell us about our own evolutionary heritage?’). Without the defence of our own aggressive behaviour we have not been able to admit how cooperative bonobos actually are.

Kim S

I was once advised my our great aunt who was a nun, to solve a potentially hostile situation you must “ kill them with kindness” When I actively used this advice, it really worked. People had the most difficult time being upset with you when all your interactions were loving and kind. Eventually they became more loving and kind. This fully supports the breakthrough ideas I have heard in this interview. Thanks

Trevor Pule Letshabo

Thanks for this amazing information.

Jan de Graaf

Interesting. One part of the puzzle found. When are we /you ready for the next?

WTM Admin

What is so extraordinary about Jeremy Griffith’s treatise is that it logically and accountably defends human selfishness and egocentricity. It is that defence of our ‘dark side’, through finding the good reason that we had to defy our instincts, that means all our defensive behaviours (our anger, egocentricity and alienation) are now redundant. We no longer need them because we have the real defense for why we had to defy our instincts. Certainly it will take some generations for all our hurt and trauma to subside, but people can immediately choose to behave in line with a set of principles any time they want – they do it all the time in religions (although the ‘change of heart’ this information allows is based rational scientific knowledge, not faith). This is the essence of the transformation that is now available. To fully heal the human race will take generations, but everyone can immediately choose to live in accord with that understanding, which is what is so immensely exciting – see FAQ 4.1 to read all about the Transformed State.

Rich

I would interested to know if he has read a book called “ Becoming Supernatural” By Dr. Joe Dispenza ? The human experience on how common people are doing the uncommon. We all have the ability to use our brains in a different way because we all are not using it in the way we were all designed and modelled not molded. The human connection of being human is to master your own condition and become someone who is in control of their health and thoughts in meditation that fire the brain to think in the parallel with their own body… I would suggest that Mr, Griffith read the above to further his interest in humans . He is sort of on the right track ! I’m not arguing with what he’s talking about!!

WTM Admin

Hi Rich, Jeremy Griffith’s work is the complete opposite to what Joe Dispenza presents; and Jeremy’s actually writing two new essays which will explain the huge difference between his instinct vs intellect treatise and theories put forward by Dispenza and others. As THE Interview explains it is our destructively behaved, so-called human condition that really has to be dealt with if we are to solve the world’s problems and heal the human race. To do this we had to answer the age-old question of ‘why, when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless, are we so angry, competitive and selfish?’, and this required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents. You may find FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this idea original or new? / How does this instinct vs intellect explanation of the human condition differ from other theories that recognise these elements?’ of interest.     These forthcoming essays are Freedom Essays 63: ‘Pseudo Therapy/Healing’ and 64: ‘Real Therapy/Healing’. Essay 63 will explain there are many approaches that seek to heal and therapise human psychoses but they are all coming from an extremely dishonest and superficial, human-condition-avoiding, pseudo therapising angle, and this does include the work of Dispenza and many others, and Essay 64 will present the human-condition-confronting, honest, true, genuinely effective therapy/healing that understanding of the human condition now makes possible.

Very interesting. I have often struggled with the notion of being a lost soul, floating in a vast universe, on a planet with billions of troubled humans....and how to change this feeling. This could be it...a deeper understand of the current human condition should allow change for the better. How can we teach this to children and each other?

WTM Admin

Thank you very much for your comment, Chris. Yes, this desperately needed biological understanding and solution to the human condition needs to be introduced to everyone everywhere, and the good news is that interest and support is rapidly growing, as evidenced by the number of new World Transformation Movement (WTM) centres around the world. Question: What is this interview about? An answer: It is a conversation that gives consideration to waking up from a Nightmare and experiencing the feeling of finding yourself in a cozy bed, warm and calm, the morning sun gently casting light into your familiar room and the smell of hearty breakfast in the air. With this, a slow realization that everything is in respective order. Very exciting ideas - I had been grappling with trying to define the existential crisis I perceive surfacing in most societies globally over the past years - and this interview came with a persuasive and illuminating contribution for doing just that - by locating it as a consequence of darwinian evolution since the beginning of, or more accurately, the emergence of, the human species. I need to listen to the interview again and/or review more material on the humancondition.com site because I still struggle to see how we go from here. How does a convincing and rational explanation actually help in a situation where I see the deliberate promotion of irrationality and the deliberate and disinforming ´demonisation´ of multiple sectors of the global population by a significant sector of the most powerful and privileged of the human race which senses the threats to its established position from such rationality? Seems like an impossible catch-22 - so I need to understand more - I hope I can find it on this site!

WTM Admin

Thank you very much for your interest, Tom. As with any new scientific breakthrough in history it will take time to gain mainstream acceptance, and from there break through the bastions of power in the world. However, with support from those who appreciate this understanding, the truth is that this redeeming, uplifting and healing explanation of the human condition is SO liberating and SO exciting that it won’t be long be everyone realises that it is completely pointless to keep trying to compensate for their insecurity through the pursuit of power, fame, fortune and glory.     You might be especially interested in FAQ 1.40, which addresses the questions of ‘Aren’t the problems of the world too overwhelming to ever be fixed? / Isn’t it too late to save the world? / How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’. It explains that “Even those who were most committed to defensively seeking validation through gaining power and material goods, including those entrenched in positions of power, will quickly realise how empty and obsolete that strategy is now that we have the fully accountable, psychosis-addressing-and-solving, real biological explanation of the human condition that proves our worth at the most fundamental level.”

I’m just a retired police sergeant and I was heavily involved in survival training for officers. I’m not a trained psychologist although I’ve been certified as a human behavior expert in Superior Court of California. I started researching behaviors to help police officers avoid traps and pitfalls of negative behaviors. I believed there had to be a single motivating factor. All living things had one mandate, survival. The methods for survival were the same, food, procreation, shelter, and protection from predators. That was physical but once humans developed a self awareness survival of the psychological self became the overwhelming motivation to survival. This is a sense of our importance to other human beings and the world around us. We are always attempting to maintain or add to our positive sense of self-worth, personal value. This lecture is the closest I’ve seen that validates the theory I have had for behaviors for a number of years. Thank you, Scott Landsman Ret. Sgt LAPD

Thanks for enlightenment. Understand now.

Indian Summer

How does justice fit into this biological analysis? Do we ask victims of injustice simply to forget the wrong and go into therapy?

WTM Admin

Thank you for your comment. As Jeremy acknowledges and explains throughout his work, the angry, egocentric and alienated human condition has caused immense brutality, pain and suffering between humans—between different sexes, religions, ethnicities, generations; it has been one long horror story.     Children could seek reparation from their parents, women could seek reparation from men, different races could seek reparation from those that repressed them. In fact, those who became corrupted from participating in the search for knowledge could supposedly seek reparation from the more innocent who hadn’t suffered as much upset from searching for knowledge. It’s all been absolutely horrific, but what matters now is that we can, through the reconciling and redeeming and rehabilitating explanation of the human condition, finally understand the source of the psychological upset that drove those injustices and bring an end to it. For present generations this means we can at last be honest about all the horrors, because the human condition has been defended at its very source, and even more importantly, the human race can leave behind its whole upset history as compassionately dealt with.     Importantly, as FAQ 1.38 explains, this understanding of why we became upset as a species does not condone or sanction the horrific violence and injustices humans can commit, rather, through bringing understanding to humans’ upset behaviour, it gives us the power to ameliorate and thus subside and ultimately eliminate it.     The significance and profundity of Jeremy’s explanation of the human condition takes some time to absorb, Indian Summer, but the more you do absorb it, the more you realise just how all-redeeming, all-reconciling and all-liberating it is.

Stephen Banks

The World needs a check up!

WTM Admin

We couldn’t agree more Stephen, and that is why Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition is heralded as the biological breakthrough that will ‘save the world’ because only by addressing the source of our selfish psychological upset could real and lasting change come to the world. As Professor Harry Prosen, a former president of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, has said: “I have no doubt Jeremy Griffith’s work is the holy grail of insight we have sought for the psychological rehabilitation of the human race.” You might be interested in reading more in FAQ 1.6: Why this solves everything.

David Fretheim

I think both you and Noam Chompski are brilliant but the mistake that you make is dividing the world into republican and Democrat. We will never save the world by dividing the world into 2 separate camps that hate and bad mouth each other.

WTM Admin

Jeremy Griffith’s biological ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition allows us to understand the real merits and liabilities of both the left and right wing. His work certainly doesn’t excuse the right-wing for its corrupting behaviour, nor unfairly focus on the failing of the left, which is that its insistence on ideal behaviour had the effect of oppressing the search for knowledge, but rather brings a profound understanding to both sides which ultimately will bring an end to the whole ugly business of politics. This is fully explained in our FAQs about politics.

A whole new outlook, and insight to being at one with Nature... and understanding our Natural Behaviour, and how we’ve been brainwashed to believe our natural instincts are bad habits, and how that has lead to so many psychological problems, causing a wide spectrum of mental health conditions, and extreme upset in the Human Species.... I’ve found this interview very interesting...a very intelligent gentleman.

WTM Admin

As THE Interview explains until we could understand our human condition—that is, understand why we humans are competitive, aggressive and selfish, so psychologically upset, when our instincts are actually to be cooperative, loving and selfless—all we sensibly could do was practice almost total denial of it. Thankfully, with this now biologically explained, that denial can end and we can legitimately return to a world that is loving and harmonious. You might be interested in reading more in FAQ 1.6: Why this solves everything.

Kameela Hays

Thought provoking. I so want to believe that we were all good loving people and then evil took over and that we can become good again. Looking around at the state of the world today I’m not as optimistic. But food for thought.

WTM Admin

Thank you for your comment Kameela. We suggest that the more you digest Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation, the more you will realise it is not overly optimistic but rather how realistic and accountable it is in getting to the source of all humanity’s psychological upset, which in the extreme, produces psychopathic behaviour, see FAQ 4.2 How does this rehabilitate what we historically term ‘evil’. You might also be interested in FAQ 1.40 which addresses the questions of ‘Aren’t the problems of the world too overwhelming to ever be fixed? / Isn’t it too late to save the world? / How can you hope to transform the world?'

Sedmy Peace

There will always be evil in this world, that was the way it was created or modified...

As THE Interview explains, humans are born with loving moral instincts but we all now variously suffer from a psychosis due to the human condition and, in the extreme, that psychologically conflicted upset state produces extremely destructive behaviour, or what has historically been called ‘evil’. Of course this breakthrough explanation doesn’t condone or sanction the horrendous attrocities humans can commit rather, through bringing compassionate understanding to the source of humans’ upset behaviour, it gives us the power to ameliorate and thus subside and ultimately eliminate it, see FAQ 1.38 ‘Aren’t some people just born psychopathic, or even ‘evil’? / How does this explanation rehabilitate people capable of ‘evil’ behaviour? / Does this condone ‘evil’ behaviour?’. As the late Professor Harry Prosen, psychiatrist and former president of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, said: ‘I have no doubt Jeremy Griffith’s biological explanation of the human condition is the holy grail of insight we have sought for the psychological rehabilitation of the human race.’
