Thumbs up for sure!

Combining the knowledge and instinctive understanding of the many aspects of the Human Condition that the most brilliant and insightful men of hundreds of generations have obtained and shared with the world (much of which I have learned but always left with questions or believing to misleading theories) and getting it one step further, Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of our good nature, our past and the reason behind the beginning of our destruction as a kind (which now can be over) is truly freeing, it will change the way you think and progressively, as it becomes more and more spread,it will change the world. It seems to be the truth about ourselves we have been searching since the creation of our consciousness, the moment when everything changed for the worse, but also for the better for us and life on earth, especially now that Jeremy Griffith discovered and shared with us this truth. Mindblowing!!!

David Wheeler

Fascinating? Only if you are desperate to explain mankind’s basic problems by excluding or ignoring God.

WTM Admin

Jeremy Griffith’s work doesn’t ignore, exclude or contradict a belief in God, or Christianity. It simply brings biological understanding to all those pre-scientific concepts. In fact, Jeremy considers the Bible to be a repository of extremely rare denial-free truth, containing all the truth about human life albeit from a pre-science view. Although this is science, it is based on a ‘Godly’ nature in the sense of recognising, like all the great religions do, that we humans once lived in a pre-human-condition-afflicted state of original innocence where we were perfectly instinctively orientated to the cooperative, selfless, loving, ‘Godly’ ideals of life; ‘God’ being explained as being the personification of integrative meaning of life; see Freedom Essay 23. We also think you might find our FAQs about religion of interest, especially FAQs ‘What is God’ and ‘Does this understanding undermine religion’.

Fred

So it boiled down, in the end, to do what you think is good for you, not the crowd, and make everyone right wing because left wingers are living in fantasy and dangerous.

WTM Admin

Hi Fred, Jeremy Griffith’s work opens up a new way of thinking so it takes a little time to fully absorb this new paradigm – and the human condition does present the ultimate paradox! The biological ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition allows us to understand the real merits and liabilities of both the left and right wing. His work identifies that the problem of the right-wing is its destructiveness, however, through its support of egocentricity and selfishness, it does encourage the search for knowledge to continue. However the left wing’s insistence on ideal behaviour had the effect of oppressing and thus regressing, not ‘progressing’, the all-important search for knowledge. Most importantly, this understanding brings a profound understanding to both sides which ultimately will bring an end to the whole ugly business of politics. This is fully explained in our FAQs about politics.

Just completed reading chapter one of “Freedom...” and went to my computer to see the recommended intro videos and couldn’t find them but I will not give up - had to get the book after seeing the interview and I will never be the same - my thirst for knowledge on this subject only starting to be quenched - thank you

WTM Admin

It’s wonderful that you’re reading FREEDOM, Kari, and that this understanding is resonating with you so strongly. The Introductory Video Series appears on our homepage here, which we highly recommend, with (in addition to THE Interview) The Great Guilt and Videos 1 – 4 & 14 being key. Very fasinationg. Looking at consciousness from this view as control to be right is such a huge part of the destruction of this planet

Thank you!

Leaving God out of your explanation leaves man to his own dependence. A sorry, lonely, joyless place to be. There is a way that seems right to man, the end therein brings destruction. From the book of Proverbs

WTM Admin

Although this is science, it is based on a Godly nature in the sense of recognising, like all the great religions do, that we humans once lived in a pre-human-condition-afflicted state of original innocence where we were perfectly instinctively orientated to the cooperative, selfless, loving, ‘Godly’ ideals of life; ‘God’ being explained in as being the integrative meaning of life. We suggest that the more you digest this explanation, the more you will see that it does not rob life or explanations of life of its ‘spiritual’ dimension. We thought you might find our FAQs about religion of interest, in particular FAQ 6.7 ‘How can a scientific explanation ever hope to account for and encompass the great ‘spiritual’ dimension we know exists in life? / Isn’t ‘spirituality’ beyond a purely rational explanation?’

Dave Ord-Hume

Fantastic thanks for explaining it. 🙏

Travis Royal

Amazing

Xiomara Leo n

Wow just wow super interesting definitely going to share share share. This is beyond amazing.

Ms Christie Shea

I thought this was useless, the concept of why it came about with his stork analogy but what did it solve nothing, what does it fix and the ways to fix it. Some people are not even bothered by these things or the “human condition ”. Neither does this really describe what is meant by that term , why it needs fixing?, its not redeeming, uplifting and it definitely doesn’t match your statement that one must listen to this the very most important information that I’d ever hear. So where does it explain how they can use this to heal and fix this problem according effecting us

WTM Admin

The human condition, which is the astronomical guilt we all carry for having destroyed our original all-loving, innocent state, has historically been a terrifying subject, so discussion of it can be difficult to ‘hear’. We recommend reading and/or watching Jeremy Griffith’s presentation, The Great Guilt, which outlines more comprehensively the definition of our human condition, and why engagement with the subject can be initially hard to grasp.     Part4 of THE Interview, which is titld ‘How does the psychological rehabilitation of the human race that the arrival of understanding of the human condition finally makes possible actually occur?’ is devoted to explaining how this understanding heals and transforms our lives.

Sean O Domhnaill

Absolutely fascinating. I can’t wait to hear more. Thank you for sharing. God Bless. Dr Seán Ciarán Ó Domhnaill, Irish Republic

John Tidwell

Thank you! This has been very enlightening. I’ve been thinking, reading and contemplating these ideas and issues for years. It seems to me that the law of reciprocity (the Golden Rule) is the only law or rule that humanity needs. It can serve as a bridge between our natural instincts and our intellect. The Golden Rule is simple but deep enough to apply to all of our endeavors. It exists in all cultures. I love the idea that we are naturally good. Thanks for that explanation. And the fact that freedom is necessary.

WTM Admin

Thanks for your comment John. ‘The Golden Rule’, as with all religious teachings, has played a very important role in reminding us of the ideals and ensuring that human behaviour did not become overly angry, egocentric and alienated. However in order to fundamentally bring peace to the human condition we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy Griffith presents in THE Interview and his book FREEDOM. This is what allows genuine reconciliation between the our moral, altruistic instincts, and our psychologically upset intellect. Through explaining the very good reason why our intellect had to defy our instincts, it makes redundant our defensive behaviours of anger, egocentricity and alienation, bringing true peace to our condition. We thought you might find our FAQs about religion of interest.

Norma J Higginbotham

I wanted to say that I absolutely love and admire the work that Jeremy Griffith and his assistants have presented here in this phenomenal piece of “ human artistry of condition”, Freedom, The End of the Human Condition!! I have sought understanding life and its many alienating answers to the many questions I was seeking since I was 33 years of age. I set out to understand myself so innately as to have a better understanding of others and the many modalities life presented us as a human species. I love the way the content was laid out...it definitely is a form never used before. I wanted to say thank you for this, for what may seem complexe for others, form in which this information was presented. It helped in bridging the gaps of my understandings I so struggled in obtaining. My mind is truly blown away and its function is so much more organized. I have ascended!! Thank you again!!

Pam Morisset

Interesting

Omar brown

What you are doing is beyond magnificent we as humans need to know where we are from.

Maria Lenahan

I have just downloaded the book because I found your interview fascinating. Thank you

Thanks , I am ready , and felt this as far as I can remember begining life ... People thought I was crazy, nuts and so on thank you thank you and thank you let’s spread the link so the planet can finally come to reality and stop the make believe living. Along with wishing, hoping and so on . Let’s live the real way of human way of life and stop the lies ... Yeaaaaa AAA!!!.

Jeannine Spinner

Understanding is great, but all the evil does exist and some tend to want to exist with it, so what do you do with that? Do you really think understanding could change evil?

WTM Admin

We suggest that the more you digest Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation, the more you will realise how accountable it is in getting to the source of all humanity’s psychological upset, which in the extreme, produces people who are capable of what we have described as ‘evil’. Of course this breakthrough explanation doesn’t condone or sanction the horrendous atrocities humans can commit rather, through bringing compassionate understanding to the source of humans’ upset behaviour, it gives us the power to ameliorate and thus subside and ultimately eliminate it, see FAQ 1.38 ‘Aren’t some people just born psychopathic, or even ‘evil’? / How does this explanation rehabilitate people capable of ‘evil’ behaviour? / Does this condone ‘evil’ behaviour?’. As the late Professor Harry Prosen, psychiatrist and former president of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, said: ‘I have no doubt Jeremy Griffith’s biological explanation of the human condition is the holy grail of insight we have sought for the psychological rehabilitation of the human race.’

Bube

I’ve watch a couple of Jeremy Griffith(JG) videos and have even brought his book “Freedom The End of Human Condition”. To get a better idea of what he’s thinking! Having just started the the books first Chapter had me glued to his ideas and thoughts. I was looking not only at my own identity but that of ancestors. I wanted to believe in a almighty God but have some of my own ideas which I find quite different in what JG is saying. Just this afternoon I mentioned to my Son in-law that I was reading this Freedom book about the Human Condition and I like some of his ideas and thoughts but not everything he says or thinks do I agree with him. I let him review the book and after a few minutes he saids this to me. He thinks that this writing from JG has religious connotations in it and that he doesn’t believe in God. I was disappointed in statement because up to this point in my readings of Freedom I haven’t read anything the mentioned Religion. I what to read and perceive my own thoughts first to see what I believe before making any statements. But I was raised as a Catholic and believe that their has to be almighty God, Spirit, Supreme mean, who knows all there is to know my we as human beings our here on earth, to be born, live a life and die! Can JG have all the answers that humans ever had about this question?

WTM Admin

Take your time Bube - there is a lot to digest! With regard to your son-in-law’s comment, there is no religious element to this understanding, it is rational, accountable science, however, because the human condition is humans’ capacity for so-called ‘good and evil’ it is therefore the realm of inquiry where science and religion overlap. And although this is science, it is based on a Godly nature in the sense of recognising, like all the great religions do, that we humans once lived in a pre-human-condition-afflicted state of original innocence where we were perfectly instinctively orientated to the cooperative, selfless, all-loving, ‘Godly’ ideals of life; ‘God’ being briefly explained in THE Interview as the personification of the integrative meaning of existence. We recommend our FAQs about religion especially FAQs ‘What is God’ and ‘Does this understanding undermine religion’.

Donna

Oh my goodness, I have been going through the stages and just been questioning and questioning and questioning, and this has answered so many questions. Yes, I have a way to go, but now have direction in where I want to go. Instead of trying to figure it out all the time, it hit my heart, and this is exactly what I’d like to do with my life. I was searching and I found.

Maria Lenahan

So far this gentleman has cleared a lot of my thinking. I want the book.

WTM Admin

The book version of THE Interview is free on our homepage here (along with Jeremy Griffith’s other key books including his definitive book FREEDOM: The End Of The Human Condition) to read online or download. You can also download the free Kindle version from Amazon. Otherwise you can purchase hard copies from Amazon or other good bookstores.

Dr Chandra Shekhar Prasad Vaishya

I appreciate well and freely explained human biology by Jeremy Griffith. 👍

LaMar Lemmons

The Gnostic Christians make the same observations where God is a metaphor for Instinct and the devil is a metaphor for the drive for knowledge.

KIMBERLY ONEAL

Finally something worth listening to.

Allan Ray Parmley

Long overdue, and wanted by so many. My hope is the people will accept it openly, and practice it daily. So over time it will push out the corruption and negativity so rampant today. Thank you, thank you ! A. Parmley, France

Kerstin Elisabeth Sandkvist

This is a wonderful possibility for mankind of today to really understand and be able to reach much more knowledge of ourselves and our earthly companions together with new days surprises and happenings due to our newborn awareness of our growing importance for one another and the animals and nature around us. We can look forward to a thrilling and maybe dangerous time all along, but we know now that we are much more free to act the best we can with both old and new friends.

Kenneth Taylor

In self examination I am understanding and I am listening.

Nigel Spencer-Barnes

I want to go and live with the bonobos since listening to your piece

WTM Admin

Yes, we can now appreciate just how sensitive and loving bonobos are. But just to be clear, having the human condition explained doesn’t cause a retreat to a bonobo like state, loving as that may be, but a progression of the human species into a conscious, fully reconciled, cooperative and loving state. As the poet TS Eliot wrote, “‘We shall not cease from exploration / And the end of all our exploring / Will be to arrive where we started / And know the place for the first time’”.

Laure Betts laure

Glad to discover this

Graeme Dean

Ok I get the basics of this but as far as I can see, although we may understand the human condition the original conflict will always be there. The genetic instincts will always be in conflict with the nerves quest for knowledge. Just because we understand the cause doesn’t solve the problem. We would need to modify the genetic makeup to allow for the nerves to search for knowledge without causing conflict. Similar to how science has modified genetics so that our immune system doesn’t attack foreign genes that are beneficial to our health

WTM Admin

Thanks for your comment Graeme. There is no need to modify our genetics. The issue is with how the conscious mind interprets our instincts' attempts to influence our behaviour. As is explained in our FAQ 1.36, “Having the redeeming, reconciling explanation of why our conscious mind had to defy our original ideal-behaviour-insisting instinctive self or soul does not mean our instincts will stop continuing to seek to impose their selfless, loving and cooperative orientation. However, being able to now understand the very good reason why the conscious mind has to search for knowledge means that these instinctive directives will no longer be interpreted by the conscious mind as ‘criticism’, and so it will no longer be psychologically upsetting; indeed our instinct’s/conscience’s feedback will forevermore be wonderful ‘guidance’.”

Eila

Intressting.. 'Mindblowing.. Where do humanity go from this.. ??

WTM Admin

Humanity becomes FREE of the burden of the human condition as solving it solves all the confusion, frustration and suffering in human life at its source! We can now understand our behaviour has been driven by a deep insecurity about our fundamental goodness, so now that our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living. This is the rapidly transforming effect of being able to understand the human condition, however because it presents a huge paradigm shift in our thinking it does take a little time to fully grasp. FAQs 1.4 to 1.6 are helpful as they talk about the far-reaching practical applications of this understanding. Also, joining our WTM Community Facebook Group is also highly recommended because there is so much helpful, practical and inspired discussion taking place there about this immensely relieving knowledge!

Alfredo Santos

GOOD INSIGHT ON THE HUMAN CONDITION. IT MADE A SHIFT IN MY THINKING OF THE WORLD AND MY PLACE IN IT. THANK YOU.

Bonnie

Just started listening and I look forward to hearing more. Very interesting and exciting

Daniel Kortlan

It was brilliant and engrossing, changed my worldview completely

Len Hoare

This is all well and good. But what if 5% of the population is actually bad (psychopaths) through genetics and this causes all the problems humanity faces?

WTM Admin

Thank you for your thoughts Len. As THE Interview explains all humans are born with loving moral instincts but we now variously suffer from a psychosis due to the human condition and, in the extreme, that psychologically conflicted upset state produces extremely destructive behaviour, including extreme states of egocentricity and narcissism, known as psychopaths or power addicts. Of course this breakthrough explanation doesn’t condone or sanction the horrendous attrocities humans can commit rather, through bringing compassionate understanding to the source of humans’ upset behaviour, it gives us the power to ameliorate and thus subside and ultimately eliminate it, see FAQ 1.38 ‘Aren’t some people just born psychopathic, or even ‘evil’? / How does this explanation rehabilitate people capable of ‘evil’ behaviour? / Does this condone ‘evil’ behaviour?’

Great dissemination of information based on true research..heart felt and carefully given..Thank you..one love

Susan

It blows my mind that this theory is just coming to the forefront now. It’s so obvious that mental illness is epidemic and that mental healthcare is sadly grossly lacking!!!

Elab

I’m far from convinced this is either as new or as simple as is portrayed. Nor that predatory species, ourselves or any others, existed in a state of love for and with their prey. As the interview goes on the bible, divine and god increasingly enter into the picture. And the central hypothesis of an original loving and innocent soul is repeated. But in fact we have no real proof that existed. Once we begin to deal in ‘one truth’ that saves the world surely we are back on the path to a single dogma? Rather than a ‘many ways up the mountain’ thinking that allows a multiple approach. And what started purporting to be science based now reveals itself as being outside the modern scientific consensus. No more gurus - no more saviours.

WTM Admin

Thank you for the thoughtful comment Elab. What is being presented is rational, accountable explanation of the human condition. It should be treated much as you would Darwin’s explanation of natural selection - it either makes sense or it doesn’t. So without insisting that this is it or not, we would suggest that ultimately there wont be ‘many ways up the mountain’, there will just be one scientific explanation of our condition, just as there is only one explanation of the variety of life on earth.     With regard to evidence of a cooperative past, the whole of FREEDOM evidences that we emerged from a loving, sensitive past, not a savage, ‘red in tooth and claw’ past as is commonly held. For example, see analysis of the fossil record in chapter 5:5; see evidence from primatology in chapter 5:6, including similarities between our ancestors Ardipithecus and bonobos; see analysis of the relatively innocence of so-called primitive peoples, such as the San Bushmen and the Australian Aborigines, as well as evidence from mythology of a ‘golden age’ of innocence (for example, in chapter 2:7); see also evidence provided by the astonishing sensitivity to paleolithic rock painting (see chapter 8:11C); indeed, all of chapter 8), is a revealing application of the ontogeny (of our individual original loving innocence) recapitulate phylogeny (of our species' original loving innocence) principle.

Columbus Serrano Jr.

Great man true kind .for shoo

Barbara Harrison

This makes soo much sense to me too bad it took 2 million years to figure it out. I pray to the heavens that this will be accepted as all the worldly things that are placed in front of us each day, if not Humanity as we know it will kill each other off!

Grace Fay bamford

Very interesting ...looking forward to learning more!

Barry

This has been the basics of AA literature since the beginning…. Nothing new here!

WTM Admin

Certainly AA ‘12 Steps’ contains truth about our psychologically upset state, however it is not a scientific understanding. Ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy Griffith presents in THE Interview and his book FREEDOM. We suggest FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this idea original or new? which explains the unique significance of Jeremy’s work.

Erkan Djemal

I’d like the transcript to read through so I can have a better understanding.

WTM Admin

Hi Erkan, thank you for your interest. THE Interview is available to read as a transcript here or you can purchase copies from bookshops, including Amazon. There is much to consider and absorb so re-watching or reading THE Interview is exactly what we recommend people do in any case!

Mr Keith Lambert

Wow this has blown me away , very interesting and very deep but it does make sense

Sue fowler

Fantastic thank you

Melanie Mathers

And the truth shall set you free

WTM Admin

Religion has allowed us to be honest about our psychologically upset ‘sinful’ state, but we now have the rational, accountable scientific defence of our ‘fallen’ state, the truth of which does set us free. Please see our FAQs that clarify the difference between the work of Jeremy Griffith and the WTM, and religions.

Fri Ponski

Stating that there’s tension in human minds created by the conflict between instinct and reasoning is not a bad hypothesis. It might even be true. But even so, I fail to perceive the alleged unfathomable potential of the assertion. Doesn’t it feel a little too simplistic to be so loudly celebrated as the solution to humanity’s pain and suffering? I mean, before we pop the champagne cork and say goodbye to all of our common problems for good, maybe someone should first substantiate the claim? As in, prove it’s actually a fact and, much more importantly, demonstrate if and how this abstract idea can affect any practical changes in our current predicament. It seems to me a bit far-fetched to state that the centerpiece of humanity’s problems is simply that humans, tortured by guilt, are doing bad things out of misplaced anger… As if all the warmongers of this world are just waiting for someone to tap on their shoulder and tell them that they are fundamentally good people, to suddenly see them repurpose all their tanks in so many gigantic flower pots. If what is revealed by the interview is as life-altering as Mr. Griffith claims it is, shouldn’t it be a cakewalk from now on? The heart of it isn’t very complex: once stripped of all repetitions and justifications, the central idea is simple and fits in a very short email. And if this idea contains such self-evident blinding truth, why are we not seeing more lives altered by this? Why do we not hear the thunder from the waves of facepalms clapping all around the planet? Why, at this very moment, aren’t Putin and Zelensky making passionate love to the sound of “Kalinka”? If something as insignificant as a new flashy pair of rapper-promoted sneakers can take the world by storm in a week, shouldn’t we feel the effect of (drumroll) “The Solution To The Whole Human Condition”, even just a little bit? Because from where I stand, I can’t say that I am.

WTM Admin

Thank you for your thoughts Fri. As WTM FAQ 1.9 ‘Should people be sceptical’ explains, Professor Harry Prosen, a former president of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, has endorsed the significance of Jeremy Griffith’s treatise, saying “I have no doubt Jeremy Griffith’s biological explanation of the human condition is the holy grail of insight we have sought for the psychological rehabilitation of the human race.” So while initial scepticism is warranted about the astonishing claims being made about this work the amazing fact is that they all withstand scrutiny. A person can begin reading the book and the more they read into it the more they will realise the claims being made are actually true as is evidenced by the ecstatic responses at the top of our homepage and the outstanding commendations this work has received from eminent scientists and thought leaders, here on our homepage. Also see FAQ 1.7 ‘What scientific support does this work have?’     In terms of why this critical new science isn’t yet mainstream Jeremy Griffith answers this question in Part 2 of THE Interview when he points out that the issue of the human condition has been such a denied and off-limits subject that confronting it represents the “biggest of all blasphemies”, and how “science progresses funeral by funeral” when it comes to supporting big paradigm shifts like this, see FAQ 1.4.     We suggest that when people appreciate just how psychologically ‘upset’ humans now are after 2 million years of unjust condemnation from our instincts, how murderous-with-rage we actually are, they begin to appreciate the depth of guilt and shame we carry and therefore the scale of the relief at long last being able to understand WHY we have been capacity for shocking acts of cruelty, sadism, hate, murder and warfare. What is so extraordinary about Jeremy Griffith’s treatise is that it logically and accountably defends human selfishness and egocentricity. And on reflection, it does become apparent that all the dysfunction and destruction in the world are manifestations of the psychologically upset state of the human condition. And so what is so powerful about the explanation of the human condition is that by solving our insecure state at its source, it brings an end to all the terrible, and seemingly overwhelmingly “complex” problems that beset the problem – indeed it is the only way to bring an end to all those symptoms of our psychologically upset condition. So in a world fast going crazy from the effects of the human condition, this is the now desperately needed reconciling understanding that brings about a new world for humans FREE of the agony of the human condition. This is the understanding that ends human suffering at its source, and unites the human race. see FAQ 1.5 and FAQ 1.6.     As Part 4 of THE Interview, titled ‘How does the psychological rehabilitation of the human race that the arrival of understanding of the human condition finally makes possible actually occur?’ explains it will take a number of generations for the upset within us to be completely healed but it also stresses importantly we can be immediately free of its effects. Certainly there is habituation to overcome and humans do find change difficult but now that our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living. ‘Legitimately’ because we have the first principle science which liberates us to be honest about our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it. So instead of being focused on power, fame, fortune and glory, all our energies will be freed to truly work together on doing whatever it takes to end the suffering and save our world. See FAQ 1.40 which addresses the questions of ‘How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’ and FAQ 1.38 ‘How does this explanation rehabilitate people capable of ‘evil’ behaviour?’.

Jose Ramon Sanchez

I agree with the overall story about how our natural instinct has been repressed by our intellect. I disagree that our intellect did not exist in our hunting gathering stage. Intellect existed then but it was not dominant. It played second fiddle to instinct because we still lived in a world constructed by nature. Intellect began to dominate as our world began to be constructed by human intellect. We tried to give equal billing to instinct and intellect at first. But the social world we had constructed got larger and more dominant. Thus, the present conundrum of immoral and selfish intellect.

WTM Admin

Thank you for your comment Jose. There is no suggestion that the intellect did not exist in our ‘hunter-gatherer’ stage. In fact, in Part 3 of THE Interview Jeremy Griffith explains how we became fully conscious some 2 million years ago, which is at the very dawn of the hunter-gatherer stage. He refers the viewer to chapter 7 of his definitive book FREEDOM which further explains how and when consciousness emerged in humans. In ch 7:3 for example, the fossil record is examined, and shows the sudden increase in the size of the brain case, and by inference the brain’s volume—itself an indicator of consciousness—occurred around 2 million years ago. (A quick snapshot of this emergence of consciousness is given in the Development of Mental Cleverness graph that appears in ch 8.11C of FREEDOM.) So around 2 million years ago is when we began attempting to manage our lives from a conscious basis, a development our all-loving but dictatorial instincts tragically resisted, which led to us becoming psychologically upset (see Part 1 of THE Interview using the Adam Stork story). This clash between instinct and intellect is the source reason our intellect became dominant and repressed our instincts. Over time this conflict intensified, particularly with the advent of agriculture and domestication of animals, which brought humans into close conflict and accelerated the increase in psychological upset (anger, alienation and egocentricity), causing our intellect to repress our loving moral instinctive self or soul even more. You might be interested in reading ch 8:7 of FREEDOM, in which Jeremy explains hunting and killing of animals wasn’t driven by the need for protein-rich food, rather it was the first great expression of men’s upset, anger and egocentricity or our human condition upset state.

It is also available to purchase as a beautifully bound colour booklet, the details of which are given here on our website.

Steve

The bible already answers this question. Full stop

WTM Admin

Thank you for your comment Steve and we certainly respect people’s religious views. It is important to mention for readers of these comments that Jeremy Griffith’s work doesn’t contradict a belief in God or Christianity, or the Bible’s content. It simply brings biological understanding to all those pre-scientific concepts, see FAQ 6.3 ‘Does understanding of the human condition undermine a faith in religion or God?’

Wayne Keith Edwards

It’s so good to know the truth

Freida Metcalf

Do we have the right leadership to get us were we need to be and will greed overcome doing the right thing

WTM Admin

Hi Freida, what is so extraordinary about Jeremy Griffith’s instinct vs intellect explanation of the human condition is that it defends our so-called ‘dark side’. We can understand the battle between our intellect and our cooperative instincts caused us to become psychologically angry, alienated and egocentric, the upset state we refer to as the human condition. Now that we can understand this conflict all those insecure behaviours, such as greed, are obsoleted, brought to an end, and we free ourselves from that state and can legitimately return to a cooperative way of living. We suggest FAQ 1.40 which addresses the questions of ‘How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’ It explains that “Even those who were most committed to defensively seeking validation through gaining power and material goods, including those entrenched in positions of power, will quickly realise how empty and obsolete that strategy is now that we have the fully accountable, psychosis-addressing-and-solving, real biological explanation of the human condition that proves our worth at the most fundamental level.”

This message needs to be shared all across the world. The real solution !!! WOW

Paul Tchue

Finally here is the explanation Thank You so much Mister Jeremy

Doreen Sawyer

Truly fascinating and educational, it is such a shame that I am learning all this information and education at the age of 78. How better would it of been if I had been told this as a child, but it has been all this time living with the state of life as we were told was normal. It has taken a very long time being explained and taught, as a child it would of been so very enlightening, explained so much that seemed to me as a child wrong, but that this was just the way things were.

WTM Admin

Thank you for your heartfelt comment Doreen. As THE Interview explains the human condition has been the most terrifying of subjects because it is the issue of whether we are fundamentally good or bad as a species. So much so we have necessarily lived in almost total denial of it and got on with the noble but corrupting task of searching for knowledge. Now that knowledge is found, and our fundamental goodness is biologically established, we can finally start talking the truth about our upset condition and why adults had to deny what “seemed to children to be so wrong”, which will be so relieving to children who will no longer be bewildered by the silence of the adult world. What heals the world is the honesty that is now available. Now that we have redeeming understanding denial is no longer necessary and we can talk to children about the unavoidable journey of the human condition and how corrupted we’ve become, and that honesty is what will heal their troubled minds. We suggest you now watch or read The Great Guilt (which follows THE Interview) as it further explains the immense guilt and shame humans have been carrying for corrupting our original instinctive self or soul—our child within—and how we can now legitimately move on from the human condition and be free of that burden (click here to access it).

James Foster

My mind was blown away. Never have I seen anything of that caliber in my 51years on this planet. Amazing

James Vane

At last all is revealing. We are remembering. Let the truth be known. Thank you.💖🙏

Irene

Very interesting. So how is this troubled human condition going to be resolved?

WTM Admin

Thanks for your question Irene. Resolving the human condition solves all the confusion, frustration and suffering in human life at its source because we can now understand our behaviour has been driven by a deep insecurity about our fundamental goodness. So now, with this knowledge, our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living. This is the rapidly transforming effect of being able to understand the human condition, however because it presents a huge paradigm shift in our thinking it does take a little time to fully grasp. FAQs 1.4 to 1.6 are helpful as they talk about the far-reaching practical applications of this understanding. Joining our Facebook Group is also highly recommended because there is so much helpful, practical and inspired discussion taking place there about how this immensely relieving understanding resolves our troubled state!

כתוביות בעברית יעזרו להפיץ את המידע [Hebrew subtitles will help spread the information [translated from Hebrew)]

WTM Admin

Hi בטי גרוסמן, subtitles are available on all our videos, including THE Interview and its companion presentation The Great Guilt, using the closed captions or subtitles function (just click on the ‘cc’ icon at the bottom of the video player/window and select your language). We appreciate the difficulty accessing these understandings in languages other than English, so we have created a translations page on our website where you can find key publications in Dutch, French, German, Greek, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish and Afrikaans. These translations have been produced by the wonderful efforts of the WTM’s ever-expanding global network of support to help spread this information! Unfortunately we don’t yet have any Hebrew translations, but we hope to in the near future!

I laughed and I cried.

Bryan Godfrey

Human kind is the only specie that we know of, that has stepped out side nature and the natural order of things, he made weapons, that gave him an advantage, over his predators, from that moment on his life expectancy continued to increase, his predators could no longer keep his numbers in check, as a result, man kind started on a long journey to his own extinction. We Are now coming to the end of that journey, If the contents of the book could bring peace and harmony though out the world, it would only result in an increase, In human population, and bring extinction, one step nearer, the planet is finite, human population is infinite, all the war, disease, and atrocities, has not succeeded in keeping it in check, it is pretty obvious, there is not much time left, if we make 2100 it will be hell on earth, I worked this out over sixty years ago,

WTM Admin

Jeremy Griffith’s work explains that issues such as overpopulation; environmental destruction; resource depletion are merely symptoms of a deeper problem and will not fundamentally change at all until we solve this dilemma of the human condition—our insecure, guilt-ridden, defensive capacity for ‘good’ and ‘evil’—and bring self-understanding to the human situation. This interview provides the ideal summary presentation to watch Jim, and you might also find FAQ 1.6 ‘Why does understanding of the human condition solve everything?’ helpful.

Gideon Mwenda

I have always been waiting for the real truth, the power of the light behind the current human condition.

Leo

With turmoil, devastation and polarity in the world and humans behaving in a non-loving and selfish way this is the only true answer that will lead humanity at of the hell hole that it’s currently in. Thank you for bringing this humanity life saving light into the world.

Lothe Venter

Very interesting. We are all aware the human race are deteriorating all over the world. Something is wrong with human behavior in general. People are getting more and more aggressive. People are upset and getting more upset by the minute. In South Africa it seems lately that quite a number of people has NO consciousness whatsoever. Does this theory of human psychoses differ between cultures? Or are we all the same with the same human instincts but different levels of intellect and different levels of “psychology” issues due to our different frame of references?

Steve Szapka

makes so much sense

Constantine S. Prokidis

Beautiful if we could change to a better understanding each other, but it will be very difficult if not impossible, hence in this situation and world we live we find our only salvation is our religion and to follow the teaching of the bible that gives comfort and peace

WTM Admin

It can take some deeper digestion to see the full significance of at last being able to make sense of the great paradox of the human life, namely how we humans are good when we appear to be the complete opposite. But what it means is that now that our goodness has been biologically established we no longer have to continue to try and prove ourselves, which was the source of all our selfish, egocentric behaviour, and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living — and this is the rapidly transforming and healing effect of being able to understand the human condition.

Dr. Zvisinei Meki

Explanation of cruelty thru biology!! Makes me wanna cry to phantom that this is whitewashing the past by using biology....can I ever forgive what I went through...no what I am going through? Biology or no biology some people were so cruel to others!!!! It takes more than this explanation to rationalize it...

WTM Admin

We are sorry to hear of the terrible experiences you have had to go through Dr Meki. The human condition has caused such unthinkable pain and suffering it is almost unimaginable. It does take time to digest, but what THE Interview presents is not an attempt to rationalise cruelty or ‘evil’ but explanation of the source responsible for the psychologically conflicted upset state that produces extremely destructive behaviour. / Does this condone ‘evil’ behaviour?’

Robin Pringle

It’s got my attention?

WTM Admin

It certainly is transformative Zvidinei because at last we have the truth about humans that frees us from our fundamental insecurity about our self worth, bringing true peace and happiness to our lives, which is just so utterly relieving and liberating!! Our homepage guides you through the steps to learn more and visiting our Transformation page is a must as it further illustrates how having the core mystery and problem about human behaviour of our human condition explained, we can rehabilitate and transform our lives and world. We also encourage you to join our Facebook Group, as we feel sure you will find the extraordinary discussions taking place there most helpful and inspiring.

Caesar

Wow mind boggling

Nancy Erwin

Very informative

Josephine Miller

I must be really thick,not got a clue,what he’s saying,can someone explain it to me easier.Thanx.

WTM Admin

Thank you for your feedback Josephine. While great care has been taken to present the information as quickly and simply as possible (which is done in Part 1 of THE Interview) explanation of the human condition can be initially difficult to access. This is because it has been the most terrifying of subjects to face as it is the issue of whether we are fundamentally good or bad as a species, and we have necessarily lived in almost total denial of it. We suggest looking at The Great Guilt where Jeremy Griffith explains this initial ‘deaf effect’ and how to overcome it. Also FAQ 1.3 presents a very brief summary of the key ‘instinct vs intellect’ concept.

Bosten

This is actually rather intriguing. I got this on a YouTube ad when I was watching NileRed, and I thought to myself “yo this seems like a absolute crap”, and I looked at the website, and no registration required and the video interview was right there and I was like “damn”. So I watch the interview and it made some very important points and analogies that just stuck to my brain. I will be definitely thinking this over.

WTM Admin

It’s great to have your interest Bosten and thank you for your forthright comment. Yes, the work of the WTM is a scientific pursuit and was not created for profit, so all of our information and materials (including books, videos and podcasts) are provided absolutely free of charge on our website HumanCondition.com with no email registration required. Jeremy Griffith’s fully accountable, first-principle-based biological understanding of the human condition has also received outstanding commendations from leading thinkers and scientists, which you might like to read on our homepage here.

Dave

Too much

Charlotte Andreasen

I think it all rings a bell, Christian or not, and makes me think of what Jesus is told to have tried to tell us.

WTM Admin

Glad to see that it is resonating with you Charlotte. While Christianity and other religions contain all manner of truths about human life, it is all from a pre-scientific view. Ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy Griffith presents which actually reconciles science and religion. You may find these FAQs helpful in your consideration: FAQ 1.3 ‘What is biologist Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition?’ and FAQ 1.15 ‘If this is biology, why are there religious references?’
