Sylvia Saxon

As a liberal progressive, I watched this interview with great interest, excited to hear this theory which so seemed to align with my beliefs, but more than that explain the biological reason I hold them. The more I heard, the more I wanted to share it far and wide, (though I knew, my conservative friends, would find far too much of it flew in the face of what they believe...) Imagine my surprise when, at the end, you launched into your belief that: "The Left’s dogmatic insistence that everyone behave in a cooperative and loving way makes its advocates feel good but it oppresses and stifles the freedom of expression and individualism needed to find knowledge, ultimately self-knowledge, the redeeming understanding of the human condition that actually brings about a cooperative and loving world.” Wow, REALLY? Have you not considered that those of us who encourage “a cooperative and loving” existence just might have already come to believe and embrace what you describe as the solution!?

WTM Admin

Please persevere Sylvia. It does take some time to get your head around the paradox of the human condition, and in particular, how it applies to politics. We recommend Jeremy’s latest book, Death by Dogma, which is freely available here on our homepage. It sets out clearly the biological reason for why left-wing ideology is so dangerous. It also summarises the whole history of pseudo idealism going back to when the upset state of the human condition first emerged some 2 million years ago. In it Jeremy emphasises that while it is easy to identify with the ideal of everyone being cooperative and loving, the whole objective of the human journey was, as mentioned, to find understanding of why humans have not been cooperative and loving and instead so divisively competitive and aggressive. That is the great riddle of the human condition that had to be explained, and what is finally revealed with Jeremy’s biological explanation is that there has been an all-important, good reason for that divisive behaviour. It’s always been easy to side with idealism and denigrate realism, but now at last we can understand the real world humans have been living in where we have had to be competitive, aggressive and selfish, and, most wonderfully of all, by revealing that reason, ending the need for that divisive behaviour. Yes, that is the final paradox of the human condition: through the right wing upholding the selfishness needed to persevere with the search for knowledge, we all now become left-wing (as it were, although the truth is that the whole ugly business of politics is now brought to a close).

Frederick

“Yes, that is the final paradox of the human condition: through the right wing upholding the selfishness needed to persevere with the search for knowledge, we all now become left-wing (as it were, although the truth is that the whole ugly business of politics is now brought to a close).” Why do you assume the search for knowledge is right wing?

WTM Admin

The central tenet of Jeremy Griffith’s instinct vs intellect explanation of the human condition is that the conscious mind’s search for knowledge drew criticism from our pre-established instincts causing us to become psychologically upset angry, egocentric and alienated. The right-wing supports the search for knowledge because through its support of materialism and selfishness and individualism it caters to and supports the egocentricity and self-corruption that the search for knowledge causes. The left-wing on the other hand, through its insistence upon the cooperative ideals, inhibited the egocentricity and selfishness that enabled the search to continue. The logic is straightforward, however it does flip everything we assumed, and so it does take time to get your head around it. You might find FAQ 6.6 of interest.

Very interesting interview, thank you both. I do worry that most of our world leaders (especially here in the UK) have not benefitted from a loving upbringing. Most of our ‘leaders’ in the UK have been brought up by a nanny and then sent off to boarding school - hardly a loving, caring start to life. This means these unfortunate people, who are making decisions for all of us, are unable to empathise or understand real life from a compassionate angle. This does not bode well for us in light of the planetary emergency we find ourselves in; the climate crisis needs swift action but our world ‘leaders’ are not acting in an appropriate manner. I wonder if we need a complete political system change; politics in the UK is archaic and corrupt because a small group of people who all went to the same school, devoid of a mother’s love and a caring upbringing are running the show and maybe citizens' assemblies would be a good way forward.

WTM Admin

Thank you very much for your interest Susan. It does take some time to digest, but the more you absorb this information, the more you realise that it is the only thing that can end all the dysfunction in our political system, in the way we raise our children, in the damage we are doing to the environment, etc etc, because you realise that they are all manifestations of humanity’s preoccupation with having to prove its worth; they are all manifestations of the human condition. We have been corrupted through governments and religion. We have been told how to live and think, and if we don’t follow the rules then you will be punished. Now science has caught up with the truth, we may be able to right the wrongs and heal the planet.

WTM Admin

Yes, science has finally explained the human condition, and the liberation it brings is just extraordinary. Being able to understand the human condition, we can now see that everyone has suffered from it, and all our institutions, including governments and religion, have been a manifestation of our insecure, psychologically upset condition. Very interesting, following our instincts is natural and sometimes it could be for the best or for the worst. Acquiring knowledge, having a difference of opinion can help us achieve a better understanding of who we really are.

I was just listening to one of your interviews and I have a few questions: what is the evidence for the selfless and loving nature of humans before consciousness? Or framing it differently, in what way do “bonobos provide the perfect evidence for how our distant ape ancestors became cooperative and loving”? (especially considering they evolved either as a branch out of chimpanzee populations or from a common ancestor with chimpanzees) Also, considering psychology - as all other science, apparently - emerged only around 150 years ago...what is your basis for assessing rates of psychosis and alienation from 2 million years ago?

WTM Admin

Thank you for your questions Rui. With regard to bonobos, there is no suggestion that human’s are descended from bonobos, however, what is being suggested is that bonobos have encountered the same conditions and are going through the same process that our distant ancestors did, and therefore provide an extraordinary insight into our distanct ancestors. The evidence for this is bonobos’ similarity to those ancestors, as well as similarities in the environment. In chapter 5:5 of his book FREEDOM, Jeremy Griffith includes an analysis of the hominin fossil record (particularly Ardipithecus) that evidences that on the basis of physique, intelligence, small canines, bipedality the bonobos present a very accurate model of our human ancestors; and there is also analysis from paleoanthropologists on the environment inhabited by those ancestors, demonstrating its similarity to the territory south of Congo River that the bonobos currently inhabit (see chapter 5:6 for more about bonobos).     Regarding the relative lack of psychological upset in our ancestors, the whole of FREEDOM evidences that we emerged from an innocent past, not a savage, ‘red in tooth and claw’ past as is commonly held. For example, see analysis of gentleness of so-called primitive peoples, such as the San Bushmen and the Australian Aborigines, as well as evidence from mythology of a ‘golden age’ of innocence (for example, in chapter 2:7); see also evidence provided by the astonishing sensitivity to paleolithic rock painting (see chapter 8:11C); indeed, all of chapter 8), is a revealing application of the ontogeny recapitulate phylogeny principle. You might also be interested in FAQ 1.2 about why humanity has embraced the idea that we have ‘savage instincts’ derived from a savage past.

Fantastic…. How to transform these nice words and advice to reality?? Not easy at all

WTM Admin

Once people gain an appreciation for how all-clarifying, all-reconciling and all-liberating this knowledge is its implementation happens quickly as you can see from the ecstatic responses at the top of our homepage! What is so challenging and hard is breaking through the historic fear we understandably have to discussion of the human condition and also the resistance humans have to change (see Video/Freedom Essay 1). So, as with any new scientific breakthrough in history, it will take time to implement the change universally (see FAQ 1.7) but once this information gets a foothold through enough people developing a deep appreciation and desire to support it our problems will be solved very quickly! As THE Interview explains instead of us being preoccupied with proving ourselves artificially (through seeking power, fame, fortune and glory) all our energies will be freed to truly work together and focus on doing whatever it takes to end the suffering in all the corners of the world (you can read more about how this solves everything in FAQ 1.6. So exciting and relieving is this freedom from the human condition that everyone will want it so it will catch on like wildfire and this is already happening! Apart from the excited responses our homepage shows the rapidly growing appreciation and support for the WTM with outstanding commendations from thought leaders and WTM Centres all over the world! Also, every day more people join our WTM Facebook Group and register for our live events with Jeremy Griffith and others to share in this transforming knowledge!

This to me sounds like a truly salvaging truth of who we are. I consider myself and others who will hear this message truly lucky to be around during this time.

I have nothing to give at the moment monetarily, but I do feel inclined to leave a comment because Jeremy is nice enough to allow folks to print this info for free. Every Human being has a responsibility to God because he has put us here on earth and given us all the gift of life. We have to understand what it means to be a part of the Human species and finally take care of the planet and ourselves. Amen

John Paul

This just goes deeper & deeper & deeper, like dawn devouring darkness, amazing!

CATHIE

So you are saying that if people are accepted on their own terms they will be good people. Psychosis can be cured? really......... there are a lot of people that need to be cured ....I think people need more nature in their lives, walking through nature sans music and cell phones

WTM Admin

There is a lot to digest here, but yes, there are lot of people that need to be cured – the human condition is universal. And it is true that nature can bring us back into contact with our repressed instinctive self, but ultimately we needed to explain why we lost contact with it and became such a psychologically disturbed species. It is this understanding that Jeremy has provided with his explanation of how our emerging conscious mind came into conflict with our instinctive self. Now that we have the real defence and reinforcement of our fundamental goodness, all our artificial defences and reinforcements are obsoleted, they are no longer needed. So yes, understanding does heal a psychosis, because ultimately, that psychosis was based on the conscious mind wrongly believing that it ‘bad’ to disobey our instincts. See FAQ 1.5 about why this heals everything.

Claire Wright

Great interview. Learning who we are is so interesting. Everyone should watch this.

Lincoln Jackson

Interesting ideas. Just not buying the idea we’re so different from animals. Animals are more primitive but I don’t believe show more aggressive tendencies than humans. Maybe instinctive but that doesn’t really mean anything negative. Look how we damage the planet? Would a ‘concious’ human do that? You’re claiming they would because of all the morals and ethics we have. Well, yes we have them, but mostly when it comes to our own species, just like any other animal. The answer to our aggressive tendencies comes from the way our caregivers raised us. Disciplinarian and punitive conditioning, creates destructive behaviour because it robs the child of the chance to be valued as an individual. 80% of a child’s conditioning is developed in the first 4 years of their life. The ‘human condition’ could be refined to meaning the ‘child’s condition’. There’s the answer to most of your behaviour. How did Mum and Dad treat me.

WTM Admin

The point that Jeremy is making is not that animals are more aggressive than humans, but that the source of human aggression is not instinctive like other animals; it is psychological. As you rightly say, this aggressive behaviour is largely created through dysfunctional conditioning in childhood, but the great question that raises is, why we haven’t been able to adequately nurture our children? Where in our evolution did it go wrong? It is this core question of the source of all the dysfunction in human life that Jeremy has answered with his explanation of how our emerging conscious mind came into conflict with our preestablished instincts, making us psychologically upset. (You might be interested in chapter 8:16C of Jeremy’s definitive book FREEDOM, which talks about the absolute importance of nurturing, and how if it is compromised, it creates destructive behaviour in subsequent generations. Of course, as Jeremy writes in that chapter, it is not parents fault; they, like everyone else, have been dealing with the human condition. Jeremy writes: “Parents can now understand that their inability to adequately love their offspring is not their fault, but the product of the ever-accumulating levels of upset in the human race as a whole that resulted from our species’ heroic 2-million-year search for knowledge, specifically for self-knowledge, understanding of why we conscious humans are good and not bad.”)

If this world did not change a bit in all the five thousand plus years of recorded history and equal number of years of theories and models of the human condition (sciences, religions, philosophies, mysticism, social experiments as communism and fascism, cults...) , why can we expect it to change now? The assumption that we are basically good hardly explains the grim facts - the more likely explanation of world history events is that we are mad and the only remedy is a straitjacket. And at this stage it hardly matters what is the source of the madness.

WTM Admin

Yes, the ‘facts’ of human life are ‘grim’, but to suggest that they are explained by humans being basically good does not do Jeremy Griffith’s treatise justice. No, the grim facts of human life can now be understood through understanding that after 2 million years of searching for knowledge, we, as a species, are now so psychologically upset by the battle between instinct and intellect that we have reached a point, where we are, as you say, basically mad. Indeed, we are now so psychologically upset that the future of the human race is in the balance—Freedom Essay 55: Endgame for the human race addresses this issue.     The reason we can expect it to change now, when it never has in the past, is that Jeremy Griffith’s treatise at last answers the essential question of our so-called ‘good and evil’-stricken human condition—why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish, so much so that we are destroying ourselves and our world? Now that we have the real defence and reinforcement of our fundamental goodness, all these artificial defences and reinforcements of gaining power, fame, fortune and glory are obsoleted, they are no longer needed. Having this core mystery and problem about human behaviour solved ends all the conflict and suffering in human life at its source, and provides the now urgently needed road map for the complete rehabilitation and transformation of our lives and world! See our Transformation page to read more about the Transformation that this information brings about.

Psychology has been on the back burner for over 100 years.

WTM Admin

Yes, as Jeremy writes in Chapter 1:1 of his definitive book FREEDOM, humanity has been unable to breach the great impasse of explaining our apparently non-ideal condition. As Jeremy writes, “Of course, in the absence of understanding, we had no choice but to come up with some excuse for why we are the way we are in order to cope with the negative implications of being divisively instead of cooperatively behaved, but we do all in truth know that the old ‘animals are competitive and aggressive and that’s why we are’ defence simply doesn’t hold water—it doesn’t explain our psychologically distressed human condition and so cannot end the pain, suffering, conflict and confusion that plagues this planet. And that is where the human race has been stalled, waiting in an increasingly distressed state for the real explanation for our psychologically troubled human condition that will finally make sense of the riddle of human life. That is, until now—because it is precisely that human-mind-liberating, psychosis-relieving REAL explanation that this book at last delivers.”

I watched and listened to your online interviews. What absolute rhapsody did I feel. Frank Aguilera

It’s a well-meaning presentation. Both gentlemen seem to be truly good people. However, around the minute 15 or 16 of the interview, Mr. Griffith states that violent, aggressive selfish reactions are not evil, but that the subject is merely upset. Please forgive me for making this extrapolation: does that mean the Grand Inquisitor who burned at the stakes 20 or 30 people in a single day, did that evil act only because he was upset? One can be upset with the world all day long, and never hurt even a fly. Aren’t you being too easy on evil behavior? Still, I’ll continue to watch this kindly thought-out video to the end. Thanks for your choice of subject matter.

WTM Admin

Thank you very much for your consideration Frank. Yes, it is difficult to understand how some of humanity’s terrible acts could be the result of being pschologically upset, but I suggest that when you appreciate just how ‘upset’ humans now are after 2 million years of unjust condemnation from our instincts, you will begin to see that in certain circumstances that upset does account for terrible acts of ‘evil’. As the Australian author Morris West so bravely acknowledged in his memoir, A View from the Ridge: ‘brutalise a child and you create a casualty or a criminal. Bribe a servant of the state and you will soon hear the deathwatch beetles chewing away at the rooftrees of society. The disease of evil [now able to be understood as upset] is pandemic; it spares no individual, no society, because all are predisposed to it. It is this predisposition which is the root of the mystery [of ‘evil’ that is now explained]. I cannot blame a Satan, a Lucifer, a Mephistopheles, for the evils I have committed, the consequences of which have infected other people’s lives. I know, as certainly as I know anything, that the roots are in myself, buried deeper than I care to delve, in caverns so dark that I fear to explore them. I know that, given the circumstances and the provocation, I could commit any crime in the calendar’     Yes, as is explained in FAQ 1.38 “we can now see why our species has not just been ego-centric, but ego-infuriated, even ego-gone-mad-with-murderous-rage for having to live with so much unjust criticism/guilt, for some 2 million years. At long last we have the reason for humans’ capacity for shocking acts of cruelty, sadism, hate, murder and warfare—we now know the source of the dark volcanic forces in us humans.”

At last! It’s been publicly acknowledged and my unbearable, life long suffering can finally come to an end. I am ETERNALLY GRATEFUL to Consciousness and its ability to recognise me, my needs, and finally coming to my rescue, to resolve this tragedy. The life as human had brought nothing else then pain and misery. No joyful experiences could compensate for the crime, no happiness could heal the wound of me being stolen from my Origin. Ever since my horrifying childbirth I wished nothing else then to be brought back Home. Thank You for Your Awareness! May PEACE become the norm and REASON stay in Hell

WTM Admin

The human condition has been such a deeply, deeply tragic journey which has caused so much mental pain and anguish. What is so significant about Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition is we no longer have to be burdened by the fundamental question of whether we are good or bad because our core goodness as individuals and as a species has been biologically established. We can understand humans’ psychological upset was the price humans had to pay for searching for knowledge and that the human story presents the greatest, most heroic story ever told. We can at last understand the source of our upset and bring great compassion and kindness to ourselves and others and, most significantly, we don’t have to overly confront the upset within us—see FAQ 1.19 ‘A caution about the danger of over-exposure’.

Brent Crafford

In the pursuit of understanding, scientists closely examine matter and events both near and far. They see that all matter comprises forces and particles that are subject to the intelligent space within which they traffic and only present when observed. Scientists see regularity in these events and use maths and physics in an attempt to explain same, but readily admit it’s limitations in achieving understanding. The intelligent space between the sub-atomic particles occupies over 95% of the universe and facilitates all of matter. Whilst this intelligent space presents as “nothing”; perhaps the same nothing from whence the universe was born, it is certainly not nothing and is in fact something quite astonishing. Let us call it consciousness, a greater understanding, awareness and appreciation of the connectedness of all things, quantum entanglement as it were, together with the inherently uncertain nature of things. Within each human being lies a vast amount of (potential) awareness, untapped because of the perceived disconnect between the manifest human and the essence of being human. Eckhart Tolle and Sadhguru to name a few have also identified the extensive state of the human dysfunction and insanity. It is truly a wonder and a boon that an enlightened Mr Griffiths presents the truth, the light and the way in an understandable, cohesive, inclusive and loving fashion. Thank you Mr Griffiths and Kind Regards Brent Crafford

WTM Admin

Thank you for your comment Brent. Yes, there is a huge distinction between Jeremy Griffith’s work and that of people such as Ekhart Tolle and Sadhguru. While they did, as you say, identify the extensive state of human dysfunction and insanity, they focus on teaching us to restrain and transcend our anger, alienation and selfish egocentricity, whereas the obvious truth is we needed to resolve it at its source, provide the “understandable, cohesive” explanation, and that is the great breakthrough Jeremy’s work presents. The sad truth is that transcending our condition as prescribed by Tolle and Sadhguru was ‘pseudo idealism’, and in fact, was just leading to greater and greater dysfunction. You can read more about the difference between Jeremy’s work, and ‘pseudo idealism’ in FAQ 6.5.

I am thrilled with your explanation of the human condition and have shared your interview with Facebook friends and family. You have instilled hope in my heart. I will order your book.

Professor Robyn T. Australia

Brilliant awakening of past to present, thank you for your skills and wisdom. Have been “with and beside” women with their newborns, young babies, toddlers and preschool children for over 60 years to present. The instinctive knowledge of self in my world is constantly overridden, the skills to listen and observe waning. I would so much like to learn more from your wisdom of maternal self knowledge and instincts. Warmest regards.

Michael John Dodgen

Certainly brings much hope in anyone’s life who has been struggling to understand the cause and reason for so much suffering and pain endured by so many people who live on such a beautiful planet given to us by a higher being... In my case GOD ALMIGHTY. Finally “ food for our SOULS”.

WTM Admin

Yes, this breakthrough understanding does bring extraordinary hope to our planet! It is worth saying that because this is a scientific treatise, many originally think Jeremy’s work undermines faith, but the more you digest it, the more you come to realise this demystification of life doesn’t contradict our spiritual experiences but rather only enhances and fulfills them. We recommend looking at all our FAQs about religion especially FAQs ‘What is God’ and ‘Does this understanding undermine religion’ and ‘How can a scientific explanation ever hope to account for and encompass the great ‘spiritual’ dimension we know exists in life?’. There is so much to consider and adjust to, and so we hope you are patient.

WTM Admin

Thank you very much for your comment Robyn. Yes, there is so much of our maternal, nurtured past that still lives within us, that we can at last admit now that the human condition has been explained. We recommend chapter 5 of Jeremy’s definitive book FREEDOM (summarised in FAQ 5.2), which is about The Origin of Humans’ Unconditionally Selfless, Altruistic, Moral Instinctive Self or Soul, and also chapter 6.13 about how nurturing again becomes a priority.     Beyond that, our homepage HumanCondition.com provides the perfect road map to pursue your interest in this immensely relieving understanding—and it’s all free! This includes registering for our live, interactive presentations with Jeremy Griffith, watching our Introductory Video series and accessing Jeremy’s key books. As well we encourage people to join our Facebook Group where there is much interesting and excited discussion taking place.

In Humanity at this stage in time People want more than they need so as Jeremy said there is conflict in us for what is right or wrong, Good or bad. Humanity must learn this to live and for all life to live

WTM Admin

What is so extraordinary about this breakthrough is that we can now understand the fundamental reason why people ‘want more than they need’; we can now understand the source of greed and materialism. When the conscious mind went in search of knowledge a conflict between our instinct and intellect broke out, leading to an undeserved sense of guilt and insecurity that caused us to become psychologically defensive, angry, alienated and egocentric, the upset state we refer to as the human condition—a state we sought to alleviate through a competitive, selfish and aggressive bid for the reinforcement we could gain from winning power, fame, fortune and glory. But now that we can explain and understand this conflict and the guilt it produced, all those insecure, defensive behaviours are obsoleted, brought to an end, and we free ourselves from the human condition (see FAQ 1.6).

Dr. Juana Peralta Franco

A deep thought that made a conjunction between the theories of human existence: Creation and evolution. God bless you!! Great point to think about. This book could bring solutions in understanding human behaviour and guidance for wellbeing of all persons.

Prof.Peter

We have to consider that the the human knowledge has been build on Theories not on facts or truth! To change what we experience is obviously Love! where there is Love non of what we experience would be existing...But what we experience is destruction and are busy to master it! The only change the human being got is some one or some knowledgeable people to intervene ! some intervening has taken place to help the human being to wake up ..to take into there hands what other want to destroy! The answer still is Love....will it reach any one or seems this to be impossible?

Cesar Romero

Absolutely brilliant and remarkable exposition of the need to evolve or perish in denial of reality.

John

Maybe there is hope!

Snežana Levstik

Dear Jeremy, you are one of the geniuses...now we can finally be what we already are. thank you. gratitude.

Jose polanco

Does that mean all the negative and consequently inappropriate behavior of the human being is a result from the human feeling guilty of being knowledgeable or inquisitive?

WTM Admin

Yes, we can now understand that when the conscious mind went in search of knowledge a conflict between our instinct and intellect broke out, leading to an undeserved sense of guilt and insecurity that caused us to become psychologically defensive, angry, alienated and egocentric. But what is so extraordinary, is that we now know that all that ‘negative’ and ‘innapropriate’ behaviour was absolutely warranted – we had to become angry, alienated and egocentric to carry on the battle to find understanding. And the wonderful thing is that now that we can explain and understand this conflict and the guilt it produced, all those insecure, defensive behaviours are obsoleted, brought to an end, and we free ourselves from the human condition (see FAQ 1.5).

Maureen Adair

Groundbreaking, enlightening, totally understandable. Look forward to getting Jeremy Griffith’s book.

And yes indeed finally someone who agreed with me theLeft Wing is dangerously artificial!!! I have been saying that ALL ALONG!!!

WTM Admin

David Filmer

Groundbreaking is an understatement، a human condition training for unconditioning the programming that society has instilled for AT least thousands of years۔

Gloria Cooper

Excellent! Thank you for illuminating the path forward for those lost in the shadowy world of violence and division.

Very hard to keep up, with We just need to learn how to love one and other, less hate Then the world will be a better place.

Carina

Imagine the dilemma when an animal who is a meat eating predator starts to become conscious and no longer wants to kill another animal for survival. Surely that animal will start to try and eat things that fits its new state of understanding and compassion better. Slowly, but surely all animals who become more conscious will become plant eaters.

WTM Admin

As is explained in chapter 7 of Jeremy’s definitive book FREEDOM, the love indoctrination process is required to liberate consciousness. And, as is explained in chapter 5.4 of FREEDOM, love indoctrination required ideal nursery condition, and, “This entailed uninterrupted access to food, shelter and territory, for if any element was compromised, or other difficulties and threats from predators excessive, then we can assume there would have been a strong inclination to revert to more selfish and competitive behaviour. The successful nurturing of infants therefore required ample food, comfortable conditions and security from external threats over an extended period.” In the case of both our human ancestors and bonobos, that ample food was supplied by fruit and plants, but it is true that consciousness would bring with it a love of other living things and a loathing of killing.

Thank ‘You’ … an amazing, simplified introduction to the Human Condition. It’s Boxing Day here in the U.K. and for me personally to ‘listen’ to your understanding to the Truth is truly what the whole World is looking for.

Mahammed Shaik

I Loved the presentation. Is there no place for a divine being in this concept. And the caring and loving nature of the bonobo tribe that you mention is not because of their consciounsnous because they remain instinctive.

WTM Admin

Hi Mahammed, thank you for your comment and questions. Yes, as Jeremy explains in chapter 5.4 of his book FREEDOM the caring and loving nature of the bonobos was created by the love indoctrination process, and initially this behaviour is instinctive, but it has a side effect which is that it liberates consciousness (see chapter 7), and we can see this emerging consciousness in bonobos.     With regard to the divine in this concept, Jeremy does demystify ‘God’ as Negative Entropy, but we suggest reading FAQ 6.2, which explains that “If we humans are 2 million years hurt, damaged and wretched, as in truth we are, then the loneliness of our situation has been absolutely astronomical, and so it follows that the comfort we have derived from a metaphysical view of ‘God’ has also been immense. Obviously then, the scientific/‘laws of physics’ demystification of ‘God’ is going to seem very inadequate in terms of embodying all the attributes that we have imbued ‘God’ with. But, in fact, all the attributes we have imbued ‘God’ with—‘His’ lovingness of our fallen state, ‘His’ reassurance that if we are as true to him as we can be all will be okay in the end, ‘His’ kindness towards all forms of suffering, ‘His’ essential ‘goodness’, ‘His’ ‘bigness’ in every sense; namely ‘His’ universality, ‘His’ omnipotence (all-powerfulness), omnipresence (all-presentness) and omniscience (all-knowingness)—are actually now confirmed and reinforced by our ability to understand ‘Him’; but this sudden demystification of ‘God’ may take some time to adjust to. In fact, in fairness to how much we 2-million-years-corrupted humans have needed the support of a metaphysical ‘God’, almost everyone should expect some shock and resistance to have to work through when absorbing the scientific explanation of ‘God’.”     We also recommend looking at all our FAQs about religion especially FAQs ‘What is God’ and ‘Does this understanding undermine religion’ and ‘How can a scientific explanation ever hope to account for and encompass the great ‘spiritual’ dimension we know exists in life?’. There is so much to consider and adjust to but, we suggest, people come to realise this demystification of life doesn’t contradict our spiritual experiences but rather only enhances and fulfills them.

I look forward to seeing your videos and interviews! Best Wishes and Merry Christmas 🎄 , Michael

This guy is smart, but the real answer to our problems is God, the Bible tells us every thing we need to know, and how to solve it! Just simply read it and live it, it’s called self control thu God’s help!

We need this reality check of truth!!

Michael Richard Laman

Brilliant analysis and compelling information about what humans do and how they interact with each other. We are in dangerous world. We must develop better ways of cooperation and understanding or we will perish.

Janet Cunningham

You say that man created the concious mind to add to his instinct .It caused us to fall from grace. Intellect led them to Sin, bad state. Condemnation. You say that the Garden of Eden story is a metophor. The conflict within us is the trouble. Present human condition. A blessed golden period was lost. YOU SAY SCIENCE has revealed this in the last hundred and fifty years. The Holy Scriptures records this thousands of years ago, does it not?

WTM Admin

While Christianity and other religions contain all manner of extraordinarily profound truth about human life, it is from a pre-scientific view. Ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents in THE Interview and his book FREEDOM. What Jeremy is putting forward is that for there to be a fundamental change in our human situation we had to understand the human condition – humans’ capacity for good and evil – from a biological perspective.

Karin Jensen Lille

Good input,Thanks...!

Sounds like a plan, unfortunately we have a scientific community that follows the money and corrupt governments.🤷‍♂️ However, I am ever hopeful that we can somehow make this a reality. 🙏

Francisco Ibanez

I like all this proposition. Thank a lot for all what you are doing.

Vojkan Trifunovic

I like the theory. However i don’t like the politization at the end. If this theory is to gain traction, it shouldn’t pick political sides, but be all-inclusive.

WTM Admin

Regarding your concerns about Jeremy’s explanation of politics, the threat to humanity posed by the Left Wing is due to the fact that its dogmatically imposed pseudo-idealism puts freedom of thought and the search for understanding in the gravest of danger. However, with the freedom-from-dogma right-wing’s search for understanding of the human condition completed by the finding of understanding of the human condition, the justification for the egocentric power-fame-fortune-and-glory-seeking way of life espoused by the right-wing ends, replaced by the ideal-behaviour-obeying attitude that the left-wing sought. We recommend Jeremy’s latest book, Death by Dogma, which is freely available here on our homepage.

Kim Hartnett

It is without question, this is a brilliant interview. I was hooked from the very start. Thankyou from Australia 🇦🇺

Berta

Thank you for this interview. I always knew that understanding of human condition will set everyone free-individually and collectively. And again the development of tools to be able to understand (which has been a need of it’s own to justify (understand) the understanding), is a blessing, a freedom. Thanks for this work as well. I have only left with an unanswered question – Is it true that the ability of a human with so called Narcissistic traits, has ceased to exist and therefore there’s no hope for them to be freed from them?!

WTM Admin

Thank you for your comment Berta. We can now understand that the instinct vs intellect battle resulted in humans’ psychologically upset state and, in the extreme, that upset produces narcissistic behaviour. What is so utterly exonerating and psychologically healing about our ability to now understand this is that we can finally appreciate that there was a very good reason—indeed heroic reason—for such dark volcanic forces in us humans. Importantly, as this FAQ explains, this understanding of why we became upset as a species does not condone or sanction such extremes of selfishness, rather, through bringing understanding to humans’ upset behaviour, it gives us the power to ameliorate and thus subside and ultimately eliminate it, see our FAQ 1.38.

Dr. Cheryl Brown

Massively insightful, finally!!

MONICA LABUSCHAGNE

Lisa Alexander

I love that as Margaret Mead said the reason humans survived thru tough times was BECAUSE of our kind caring nature’s...we wouldn’t leave the weak and injured to die, we picked them up and carried and nurtured them.... I also think that the civilizing process ruins us...social mores, expectations, rules and regulations, conformity thwarting us...love ya work...

WTM Admin

Yes, we can now admit that we have loving, compassionate instincts, derived from the nurturing based love-indoctrination process (that Jeremy Griffith explains in THE Interview and see FAQ 5.2). However, what is so extraordinary about what Jeremy is presenting, is that we can now understand why humans had to become angry, egocentric and alienated, and it wasn’t through becoming civilized. We can now understand that a conflict between our instinct and intellect led to an undeserved sense of guilt and insecurity that caused us to become psychologically defensive, angry, alienated and egocentric, the upset state we refer to as the human condition—a state we sought to alleviate through a competitive, selfish and aggressive bid for the reinforcement we could gain from winning power, fame, fortune and glory. But now that we can explain and understand this conflict and the guilt it produced, all those insecure, defensive behaviours are obsoleted, brought to an end, and we free ourselves from the human condition (see FAQ 1.5).

Tatrow Claudia

I have absolutely enjoyed this interview!!! I can absolutely understand and agree with this. I am blessed and I have always said “there has to be an answer ” and I am now satisfied.

Mark Young

Going thru them changes, something big is going on. Enlightenment or oblivion - will we even see the dawn?

WTM Admin

In terms of your pertinent question ‘will we even see the dawn?’, it is certainly the 11th hour, but as Jeremy Griffith explains, once this solution to the human condition takes off, this information will turn things around almost overnight, see FAQ 1.4. We recommend Jeremy’s Freedom Essays about ‘Do we fail or do we make it?’ (see F. Essays 55—58). These present a fearlessly honest analysis of the state of the world followed by how the extraordinary transforming power of this information can save the world.
