Part 2.15  “We gotta help the people out, right now”, and that is what we can all do now!

All these exceptionally honest thinkers and artists that have been mentioned in this book have been extremely helpful in evidencing all that is being explained—for which myself and all of us in the WTM are eternally grateful. However, after all the confronting truth that we have been wading through in this presentation that explains the human condition, it would be good to return to discussing how fabulously exciting the world for humans can be now that the fabulous transformation of the whole human race from living with the agony and horror of the human condition to living free of it can occur.

Given the serious plight of the human race now, it is firstly highly appropriate to include these next four paragraphs from what I said last year in my 2024 presentation Sermon On The Beach about the timeliness of the human-race-redeeming and transforming new way of living for the human race that understanding of the human condition finally makes possible.

The world is becoming so horribly messed up and dysfunctional that now, despite our historic practice of maintaining a positive, everything-is-okay outlook, more and more people are being able to let that delusion go and accept that this world-disintegrating situation can’t go on and that a fundamental change has to occur. As Professor Harry Prosen wrote in his Introduction to my book FREEDOM, ‘I think the fastest growing realization everywhere is that humanity can’t go on the way it is going.’ Just recently, the renowned podcaster Joe Rogan was talking about the world having reached this completely exhausted state where we desperately need a new, more loving and honest ideology that a human-condition-confronting-not-avoiding, truthful thinker like Jesus Christ would present, saying, ‘I think as time rolls on people are going to understand the need to have some sort of belief in the sanctity of love and truth. And a lot of that [those values] comes from religion…​Ethics are based on our moral compass and we all have one, but that’s not necessarily true [anymore], we need Jesus!’ (7 Feb. 2024). This led to another well-known podcaster, Russell Brand, agreeing with Rogan, saying, ‘Yes, I do think we need a return of Jesus Christ…​We need clarity, honesty, open-mindedness and a real alternative in the political sphere…​I’d certainly like to see some new independent movements challenging these old institutions’ (7 Mar. 2024).

Two years earlier, in 2022, in one of his podcasts, the Scottish historian and archaeologist Neil Oliver expressed identical sentiments about how the political Right and Left have become meaningless for people and they are looking elsewhere, saying, ‘So it’s not Left and Right, it’s become right and wrong, good and bad. For a lot of people…​they’re trying to understand what the rules [for a new ideology] might be, and where help might be found. So people are invoking myths like [the prophesised return of King] Arthur and people who had faith in [the prophesised ‘second coming’ of] Jesus Christ, both those stories take you to the same place that, “cometh the hour, cometh the man”. People are looking to and hoping for a time when an Arthur or a Jesus will come back to right the wrong, it’s amazing! Many people all around the world are feeling betrayed and let down by those [leaders and institutions] to whom previously they would’ve looked for safety. It’s suddenly like finding a loving parent revealed as the opposite of a loving parent, an abusive parent, and people’s faith in the structures and the institutions of society have been rocked and for a lot of people that faith might never come back, and they’re looking to put their faith in something else. I think that’s why you get a lot of people talking about alternatives, because a lot of people want to start again, a lot of people want to start alternative institutions’ (3 Sep. 2022). In 2023 the YouTuber and author Kevin A. MacLean similarly pleaded for the return of King Arthur at the end of his documentary Who Are The Welsh?, saying, ‘The need for Arthur’s return couldn’t be greater, and I’ll be watching for him’ (28 Jan. 2023). I talk about how the finding of the human-race-saving redeeming explanation of our corrupted human condition represents the fulfilment of the prophecy of the return of King Arthur-like, relatively innocent, Celtic, soul-strong, denial-defiant courage and leadership in paragraph 1036 of FREEDOM, and about the fulfilment of the prophecy of the ‘second coming’ of Christ-like, innocent, sound and loving truthfulness in paragraphs 1278-1279 of FREEDOM, and in Freedom Essay 39.

So, despite all the historic denial, more and more people are waking up from all the delusion and denial that has owned human life and are admitting this end play, human-condition-stricken situation has now arrived. And once a person understands this information, understands that the human condition has been explained, they actually know that there is another way we can live; they actually know that ‘a real alternative’ ‘new independent movement’ based on ‘the sanctity of love and truth’ that Rogan and Brand called for, and an ‘alternative institution’, ‘not Left and Right’ but based on ‘right and wrong, good and bad’ values that Oliver called for, is available, which is exactly what the Transformed Way of Living represents.

Yes, the truth absolutely is that the human race has reached this end play situation where the old aggressive, dishonest, human-condition-denying, power and glory way of living is finished with, it’s no longer viable, and we need an alternative, and, blow me down, there is an alternative that is all-solving and all-wonderful, so everyone has to let go of that old absolutely exhausted and absolutely obsoleted way of living and take up the alternative Transformed Way of Living—and when they clearly face and accept that truth and as a result actually decide to, and do, take up that way of living, they will, at that moment, suddenly experience how incredibly relieving and exciting it is to be living in the all-solving and all-exciting Transformed Way of Living! In paragraphs 1198-1200 of FREEDOM I described how when St Paul let go his attachment to his resigned dishonest way of living and decided to live in support of Christ, his ‘conversion experience’ of relief was so great he fell off his donkey and went blind for three days. Well, as I mentioned earlier in paragraph 217, now that we can live in support of the actual human-race-transforming understanding of the human condition, the relief and happiness is so incredibly great it is like falling off the back of a thousand donkeys and of our eyes being so flooded with tears of happiness we won’t be able to see out of our eyes for months!

after he let go of his struggle with the human condition

Earlier in paragraph 188 the rock band U2’s 1997 song Staring At The Sun described how unbearably confronting the metaphorical light of the sun has been of our corrupted condition, but the sun is also an appropriate metaphor for the liberating light of understanding of our corrupted condition, which is why it has been used in many songs that anticipate the arrival of that redeeming understanding. In Freedom Essay 45 I present a collection of these immensely inspiring songs which, for example, includes Jimi Hendrix’s 1970 song Hey Baby (New Rising Sun) from his wonderfully titled album First Rays Of The New Rising Sun (cover below). In the song, Hendrix imagines encountering a radiant figure that is ‘gonna spin and spread around peace of mind; and a whole lotta love to you and you!’. He asks her ‘where do you come from?’, and she says ‘the land of the new rising sun [a human-condition-free world]’. Hendrix then gives voice to the urgent need to resolve the human condition: ‘we’re gonna go cross the Jupiter’s sands, and see all your people one by one! We gotta help the people out, right now; that’s what I’m doing here, all about.’ The song concludes with Hendrix’s plaintive appeal: ‘Please take me [to this fabulous place of freedom from the human condition]!’

Well, it is absolutely true that ‘We gotta help the people out, right now’, AND THAT’S WHAT WE CAN ALL NOW DO. I will include here again the words of WTM founding member Tony Gowing and the poet T.S. Eliot from the end of Part 1, and now add the counsel of R.D. Laing, the honest words of Christ, and the insight of author and philologist J.R.R. Tolkien.

Tony Gowing said about the fabulous, dreamed-of-and-now-coming-true, great transformation of the human race that ‘We don’t have to be ashamed. We don’t have to shake our fists at the heavens anymore and prove to everyone and everything that they have been wrong about us. First-principle science has proven that we are worthwhile; that we are gloriously heroic beings. It had to be the way it’s been—there was no other way—but it’s all over now. The relief of finally being able to understand floods through our whole being; the anger and frustration dissipates; all the bullshit, falseness and lies end. We can finally love ourselves and participate in the world instead of constantly fighting it. No longer preoccupied with proving our self-worth, we will finally have the room in ourselves to properly help others; to selflessly participate in stopping the suffering everywhere we look.’

Yes, this is the dream of the awesome transformation that R.D. Laing was referring to (see paragraph 149) when he wrote, ‘True sanity entails in one way or another the dissolution of the normal ego, that false self competently adjusted to our alienated social reality: the emergence of the “inner” [unresigned, denial-free, soulful] archetypal mediators of divine power, and through this death a [transformed] rebirth, and the eventual re-establishment of a new kind of ego-functioning, the ego now being the servant of the divine, no longer its [necessary] betrayer.’ And ‘an intensive discipline of un-learning is necessary of anyone before one can begin to experience the world afresh, with innocence, truth and love’.

To describe the fabulous transformation that is now available to everyone using Christ’s honest description (see paragraph 152) of our horrific human-condition-stricken state: this is the end of having ‘baptized your souls in the water of darkness’, and being ‘drunk with the [angry] fire and full of bitterness’, and of having ‘walked by your own [deranged] whims’.

This is the end of our being ‘soaked with the sense of exile’ from ‘Eden’ that J.R.R. Tolkien recognised that we ‘long for’ when he wrote, ‘We all long for Eden, and we are constantly glimpsing it: our whole nature at its best and least corrupted, its gentlest and most human, is still soaked with the sense of exile’ (The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien, ed. Humphrey Carpenter, 1981).

And yes, finally, at last, T.S. Eliot’s anticipation of our return home has become a reality—back to a state of human-condition-free sanity, peace, togetherness and happiness, but this time as fully conscious beings. As he described our heroic journey, ‘We shall not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.’

So that ends this description of what the human condition really is, and of the transformed world that understanding of it makes possible.
