This is an enlightening and uplifting view of the Human Condition. The entire human race would benefit greatly by giving consideration to and by acting/reacting our behavior in accordance with this point of view. Thank you for your presentation.

Extremely important breakthrough.
Deborah Hale
Are you humans are in this predicament because of sin
WTM Admin
Hi Deborah, we certainly respect people’s religious views and Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition doesn’t actually contradict a belief in God or Christianity. It simply brings biological understanding to all those pre-scientific concepts which allows us to fundamentally understand what sin is, where it comes from and how we are not bad for having become self-corrupted – this is, in fact, the very essence of Jeremy’s treatise. For example, in Part 2 THE Interview explains how the story of Adam and Eve is a pre-scientific metaphor for the emergence of consciousness and its clash with our pre-established, cooperative loving instincts, resulting in humans becoming psychologically upset or “sinful” or “evil”. However, significantly we can now understand, from scientific first principles, that ‘Adam and Eve’ were ‘good’ to search for knowledge, not bad; we humans are actually the absolute heroes of the whole story! This understanding fundamentally lifts the ‘burden of guilt’ from the human race. It establishes that we humans are good and not bad after all. With this understanding we can finally end our psychologically troubled “fallen” human condition — it couldn’t be a bigger breakthrough. This is further explained in our FAQ’s about religion.

A completely new out look on the human Condition. It should be taught in schools.
It can be the foundation for the long awaited for evolution of the human race. Thank you
Robert Lawrence
I have read much of Mr. Griffith’s work with interest. I believe he thinks of mankind as coming from an
almost perfect past and now descending into a crude and non-spiritual present. My reading of history would suggest the opposite. My hope would be that,in time, evolution will improve the brain of ‘man’such that our fear of differences will abate. One very religious person recently told me, ’Forget about evolution,it is only man’s adoption of Godly principles that will save us.'
Good luck with that!
WTM Admin
Thank you for exploring some of Jeremy Griffith’s work Robert. As is explained in THE Interview this critical new science does introduce a new scientific paradigm, based on confronting rather than the historic practice of avoiding the issue of the human condition, which leads to so many new concepts such as that the human race lived in an original state of innocence (see Freedom Essays 2 & 4), that nurturing created our moral soul (see Freedom Essay 21), and that there is an integrative meaning to existence (see Freedom Essay 23). We respectfully suggest that the more one digests this understanding, the more they realise that the ‘instinct vs intellect’ clash, and resulting psychologically upset state, is fundamental to any understanding of human behaviour. It is important to point out that because we were unable to defend our non-loving, divisive behaviour, admitting our core instinctive orientation was to be loving and cooperative left us unbearably condemned, and so mechanistic science employed the false excuse that we have ‘savage instincts’ like other animals. This is explained in THE Interview and further in FAQ 1.2 ‘How does science currently explain the human condition?’ But this breakthrough instinct vs intellect explanation of the human condition brings compassionate and thus safe understanding to all human behaviour – including why the horror of prejudice has existed under the duress of the human condition and, most importantly, finally brings it to an end (see FAQ 9.1). As distinguished psychiatrist Professor Harry Prosen (who wrote the introduction to Jeremy’s definitive book FREEDOM) said: “What Griffith is presenting is understanding of the source insecurity that the whole human race suffers from for having destroyed our species’ innocent soul. It is a universal self-blame that his understanding at last provides healing insight into. All human behavior is saturated with that universal insecure, depressing state and resulting anger, egocentricity and alienation that has developed from it, but we finally have the compassionate foundation insight needed to dismantle all that ‘upset’/psychosis. So the real psychotherapy of our collective and individual psychoses can begin” (see FAQ 1.34).
So Jeremy’s is not putting forward that we have “now descended into a crude and non-spiritual present”. Ultimately, only rational understanding of the human condition “will improve the brain of ‘man’” as Jeremy explains in chapter 9:6 of FREEDOM, “we needed brain food not brain anaesthetic; we needed knowledge—specifically the dignifying, uplifting, healing, ameliorating, relieving, peace-bringing understanding of the human condition. Anything else was an abrogation of the fundamental responsibility that came with our greatest capacity and nature’s greatest invention: our species’ fully conscious, thinking, self-managing, self-adjusting mind.” Also see FAQ 6.7 ‘How can a scientific explanation ever hope to account for and encompass the great ‘spiritual’ dimension we know exists in life? / Isn’t ‘spirituality’ beyond a purely rational explanation?’
In terms of the religious person’s comment you mention the human condition is the study of humans’ capacity for so-called ‘good and evil’ and is therefore the realm of inquiry where science and religion overlap, so in explaining the human condition religion is demystified and explained. Jeremy’s treatise actually reconciles science and religion by bringing biological understanding to pre-scientific concepts. With regard to religious doctrine, with this explanation we can understand the more upset people became, the more they needed to try to obey or “adopt” the “Godly” ideals or “principles” of life that religions taught, but the problem was such condemnation of upset behaviour could be extremely terrorising and oppressive. Obviously what was desperately missing was reconciling understanding of our upset behaviour and the Godly ideals; reconciling understanding of the human condition in fact — which is exactly what Jeremy presents us with. So no longer does anybody have to be terrorised by religious dogma. They can understand what such religious doctrine was providing and the great role religions played in humanity’s journey (see FAQ 6.3 about understanding religion).
Marla Perry
I’m glad that I stumbled your videos. Sociology plays a role in understanding how the environment influences us on a mental level. There is plenty of research that couples biology and sociology to examine the environmental effects on our mental, physical, and emotional health.
WTM Admin
That’s wonderful you’ve come across our videos Marla and the best way to begin is to watch our four Introductory Videos on our homepage starting with this interview. In this presentation Jeremy Griffith explains our human condition is a psychological condition derived from our biology (summarised in FAQ 1.29). So we can now understand our mental health issues are not a product of environmental influences or conditioning but the result of a universal psychosis, caused by the clash between our instinct and intellect (see FAQ 1.44 ‘What is the source of the mental health epidemic’). And, significantly, a psychosis is changeable as it can be healed through understanding so the solution is simple and all-powerful. As distinguished psychiatrist Professor Prosen’s wrote about the healing power of this explanation: “What Griffith is presenting is understanding of the source insecurity that the whole human race suffers from for having destroyed our species’ innocent soul. It is a universal self-blame that his understanding at last provides healing insight into. All human behavior is saturated with that universal insecure, depressing state and resulting anger, egocentricity and alienation that has developed from it, but we finally have the compassionate foundation insight needed to dismantle all that ‘upset’/ psychosis. So the real psychotherapy of our collective and individual psychoses can begin” (see FAQ 1.34 about how this helps our mental health).
Rod Butterss
Thank you for the interview, a massive topic and so informative. I guess I have a lot of exploration ahead. Thank you.
PS I believe those primates were vegetarian is there anything in that. ?
WTM Admin
Hi Rod, it’s great to learn you found THE Interview so informative. As Jeremy Griffith points out in Part 2 of this interview, the issue of the human condition has been such a denied and off-limits subject that confronting it represents the “biggest of all blasphemies” so it does take a little time to consider all that is presented.
We assume the primate you are asking about is the bonobo Jeremy discusses in THE Interview. These cooperative and gentle primates mainly have a vegetable diet but studies show that they do occasionally capture and eat small game to supplement their diet with protein; however they do not routinely hunt down and eat large animals such as colobus monkeys, like common chimpanzees do.
As is explained in THE Interview bonobos represent a close model of our human ancestors and evidence the ‘love indoctrination’ process that accounts for both their cooperative behaviour and that of our ancestors – this is fully explained in FAQ 5.2 ‘What do the nurtured and cooperative bonobos tell us about our own evolutionary heritage?’ However, as is explained, bonobos have not yet completed the ‘love indoctrination’ process which explains why there are vestiges of meat eating (and sexual opportunism) in their behaviour. In contrast, skull examinations of early hominins the australopithecines reveal they were vegetarian, which is just one of the pieces of evidence that our ancestors actually did complete the love-indoctrination process, and became completely loving and cooperative. (In chapter 5:5 of his definitive book FREEDOM, Jeremy presents the evidence for our loving and cooperative past, including reduced canine size, which is particularly relevant as it is universally accepted as an indication of reduced aggression. The evidence has lead the prominent anthropologist C. Owen Lovejoy to write that “our species-defining cooperative mutualism can now be seen to extend well beyond the deepest Pliocene [well beyond 5.3 mya]”. )
It is worth noting that the reason humans later went on to develop meat eating and hunting some 2 million years ago was because of their upset psychology (see Jeremy’s definitive book FREEDOM chapter 8, especially chapter 8:7). You might also find this WTM blog article ‘The ancient human diet and why we departed from it’ of interest.

Greg Gulluman
Maybe science would eventually eliminate this egocentric attitude that we human beings instinctively associate with our sub conscious mindset.
WTM Admin
Hi Greg, this critical new science does eliminate our egocentricity by explaining that it’s source is driven by our psychology rather than competitive instincts. Biologist Jeremy Griffith explains in this interview that all humans are born with all-loving, selfless instincts but we now suffer from a universal psychosis caused by the clash between our instinct and intellect. We became psychologically defensive, angry, alienated and egocentric, or psychologically upset, because of our conscious mind’s necessary, and indeed heroic, search for knowledge. Significantly however we can “eliminate” this psychological upset, as Jeremy explains in Part 1 of THE Interview, “it is actually really good news that our behaviour is due to a conscious-mind-based psychologically troubled condition because psychoses can be healed with understanding. If our competitive and aggressive behaviour was due to us having savage instincts then we would be stuck with that born-with, hard-wired, innate behaviour.” So now that we can explain and understand this conflict, all those insecure, defensive behaviours are obsoleted, brought to an end, and we free ourselves from the human condition. It couldn’t be a bigger breakthrough!! See FAQ 1.4 ‘How does being able to understand the human condition end the upset anger, egocentricity and alienation of the human condition?’

A lot of us don’t take Charles Darwin very seriously, as he was so focused on the material aspect of Evolution, seemingly ignoring the spiritual side of it. Some of us know that we are little consciousnesses, evolving through myriad lifetimes on this world and other worlds before we came here. Between physical lives, we spend time learning in some version of “Heaven” or some version of “Hell”(the lower astral plane, written about in Dante’s Inferno, depicted in paintings by Hieronymus Bosch), before we get the opportunity to reincarnate and continue with our spiritual development and evolution, hopefully improving ourselves each lifetime. And no one can remain Evil indefinitely, since all derives from Universal Spirit, which some label as Father-Mother God, Shiva-Shakti, Alpha-Omega, etc. I’ve watched and listened to some of your videos, but have not been able to discern any indication of these spiritual aspects in your outlook, which I consider as vital. For trying to understand everything too strictly from the material perspective, which Darwin apparently did, does not work well.
WTM Admin
It is important to mention that Jeremy Griffith’s work doesn’t contradict a belief in God or many mystical accounts of humanity and its struggles. It simply brings biological understanding to all those pre-scientific concepts. And so, although this is science, it is based on a Godly nature in the sense of recognising, like all the great religions do, that we humans once lived in a pre-human-condition-afflicted state of original innocence where we were perfectly instinctively orientated to the cooperative, selfless, loving, ‘Godly’ ideals of life; ‘God’ being explained in as being the integrative meaning of life. We suggest that the more you digest this explanation, the more you will see that it does not rob life or explanations of life of its ‘spiritual’ dimension. We thought you might find our FAQs about religion of interest, in particular FAQ 6.7 ‘How can a scientific explanation ever hope to account for and encompass the great ‘spiritual’ dimension we know exists in life? / Isn’t ‘spirituality’ beyond a purely rational explanation?’

Thanks for your interest Tammy and yes, as Jeremy Griffith explains the world is facing the terrifying end play threat of terminal levels of psychosis which is certainly daunting. However, humanity’s uptake of the explanation of the human condition has a fast finish as the selflessness it liberates in people will not only quickly solve all the problems on the planet but the excitement and joy it brings means everyone will want to get on board as quickly as they can (see FAQ 1.5)! And so even though we haven’t yet reached the tipping point we are well on our way as you can see from the excitement and relief in our daily ecstatic responses to THE Interview! Also, on our homepage, you can see the rapidly growing appreciation and support for Jeremy Griffith’s work with outstanding commendations from thought leaders and WTM Centres opening all over the world!

When Adam n Eve disobeyed to not eat the apple from the tree, God banished Adam n Eve from Eden. Isn’t that a lesson or teaching them, feelings of being condemned, upset, n punished? Thank you.
WTM Admin
As Jeremy explains in Part 2 of THE Interview: “the Biblical story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden that Moses wrote so long ago in about 1,500 BC actually perfectly describes the psychologically upsetting battle that emerged between our instincts and conscious intellect. It says Adam and Eve/we humans took the ‘fruit’ (Genesis 3:3) ‘from the tree of knowledge’ (Gen. 2:9, 17) and were ‘disobedient’ (the term widely used in descriptions of Gen. 3). In other words, we developed a conscious mind and free will. But in that pre-scientific story it says Adam and Eve then became ‘evil’ (Gen. 3:22) perpetrators of ‘sin’ (Gen. 4:7) because they became angry, egocentric and alienated, and as a result Moses said they were ‘banished…from the Garden of Eden’ (Gen. 3:23) state of cooperative and loving innocence.” With the benefit of science, thankfully we can now explain that they, we humans, weren’t bad at all; in fact, we are the heroes of the story of life on Earth! You might be interested in the WTM’s FAQs about religion which explain that religion deserves praise for being a repository of extremely rare denial-free truth, containing all the truth about human life albeit from a pre-scientific view.

Very interesting scientific talk about mankind’s biological future! Thank you!
Congratulations!
Makbere Osom Jacob
The human condition has been amply and inexplicably explained and I am in complete agreement with the author for certainly humanity is slave to his knack for dominance. The world leaders, the big nations and world powers are clearly sick of power to expand, exploit, dominate and control and manage borders and the resources beyond their boundaries. The UN is unabashedly in the lead in this psychiatry of mankind overseeing senseless wars and even supervising man-invented pandemics. We are all sick and less human than we ought to be. Everyone needs this book.
WTM Admin
Thanks Makbere. Yes, the powers that be have failed to solve the human condition, but we would point out that those in power or the institutions that appear to run the world are just a reflection of what we all suffer from - the human condition is a universal condition. With regard to the human condition having been “inexplicably explained”, it is true, that while we couldn’t explain our angry, destructive behaviour, we haven’t been able to admit, so finally having someone confront it and explain does seem “inexplicable”. But we can now understand that someone sufficiently nurtured, and therefore innocent of the corrupted state of the human condition, could face it, and therefore solve it. We recommend chapter 9:11 of Jeremy’s definitive book FREEDOM for more on this.
Margaret Diana
This is quite impressive, quite an eye opener. I am quite optimistic to hear, learn more and gain understanding by delving into the human condition.
Roger
Over the past 5 years I have vested my time and attention on reviewing my life and taking a full measure of accountability for the many harms, lies and denials that I put forth in the name of selfishness and protecting myself from the the denial of truthfulness. All of it seems to be opening up and some days are diamonds and some days are stone, and some days a bad time won’t leave me alone.
Your work comes across like being on the edge of scientific miraculousness, and that if only we acknowledge your thesis, then all might be well. It has taken me decades to open up to the interior truth of my human condition. At 81 I remain open to seeing-hearing-touching- learning and applying the life lessons that free my heart and soul.
What I don’t get in your thesis is this, what real life events have you had to encounter that have been a part of your pathway of life struggles? Or is this reality simply not part of the scientific story, a story that has historically honored head, while ignoring heart. Oops, I’m woke again and glad for the awakening.
You are the author of this. What is your life story in this talking narrative? What made a difference for you?
am open to understanding and
WTM Admin
Thank you for your thoughts Roger. For an understanding of who Jeremy Griffith is, and how he was able to confront and solve the riddle of the human condition, we recommend Jeremy’s biography, or for a summry, Professor Harry Prosen’s Introduction to Jeremy’s definitive book FREEDOM, in which he writes, “...How could humans possibly be considered good when all the evidence seems to unequivocally indicate that we are a deeply flawed, bad, even ‘evil’ species? But as my profession has taught me only too well, for most people, trying to think about this ultimate of questions of whether humans are fundamentally good or not has been an unbearably self-confronting exercise. Indeed, while the term ‘human condition’ has become fashionable, its superficial use masks just how profoundly unsettling a subject it really is. Again, the truth is, the issue of the human condition has been so depressing for virtually all humans that only a rare few individuals in history have been sound and secure enough in self to go anywhere near what the human condition really is. So for Jeremy to so freely and accurately talk about it as he does in this book, he clearly must be one of those rare few. Nurtured by a sheltered upbringing in the Australian ‘bush’ (countryside), Jeremy’s soundness and resulting extraordinary integrity and thus clarity of thought, coupled with his training in biology, has enabled him to successfully grapple with this most foreboding of all subjects for the human mind of the human condition and produce the breakthrough, human-behavior-demystifying-and-ameliorating explanation of it.”

We have it in ourselves to make the change needed. If we do not change, we will probably destroy the Human Race and this planet.
WTM Admin
We aren’t sure if you fully understand what has been presented Rob, but up until now it actually hasn’t been ‘right’ to make the “change needed” while the corrupting journey to find understanding had yet to be completed. We have ‘had’ to be angry, egocentric and alienated because that has been the price for finding knowledge. What is so extraordinary about Jeremy Griffith’s treatise is that it logically and accountably defends human selfishness and egocentricity and with this defence of our ‘dark side’ now achieved all our defensive, destructive behaviours are now redundant. We no longer need them because we have the real defence for our psychologically upset behaviour. This is the essence of the transformation that is now available; everyone can immediately choose to live in accord with that understanding, which is what is so immensely exciting – see FAQ 4.1 to read all about the Transformed State.

Jeremy’s Theory of understanding Humanity 2 million years ago and Humanity now. He elaborated the condition of Darwin’s theory which is in conflict with the Creation in the Bible, the latter was absorbed by humanity to now and the evolvement of science. EPIC !
Stewart Kotler
Neanderthals were extremely violent they had bigger brains and that part of the brain that was superfluous had meant to the aggressive violent behavior of the Neanderthals to evolution and natural selections the actual brain of humans shrunk during this evolutionary period
WTM Admin
Thank you for your comment Stewart but the evidence is that Neanderthals were not extremely violent and aggressive, they were sensitive and peaceful. As presented in THE Interview the core of Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition is that humans have a cooperative, loving instinctive heritage, not a brutish, savage and aggressive one, and that the source of our aggression is a psychosis that has been compounding ever since the instinct and intellect clashed some 2 million years ago. It follows then that the further back in history we go, the less psychologically upset our ancestors were. As is mentioned in THE Interview, the anthropologist C. Owen Lovejoy reported that “our species-defining cooperative mutualism can now be seen to extend well beyond the deepest Pliocene [which is well beyond 5.3 million years ago]”. In chapter 8 of Jeremy Griffith’s definitive book FREEDOM, the whole human journey is explained, showing that humans lived in a cooperative state for at least 5 million years before the emergence of the human condition some 2 million years ago. It is this period of our history that emerges as an instinctive memory of a ‘Golden Age’ as recorded by writers such as Hesiod, Plato and Moses.
In chapter 8:11C of FREEDOM, and especially paragraph 830, Jeremy beautifully explains how much ‘creative and spiritual sensitivity’ was demonstrated by these early Homo species, as shown through the fossil remains including “a Neanderthal burial site at the Shanidar Cave in Iraq…contains traces of pollen grains, indicating that bouquets of flowers were buried with the corpses. The creative and aesthetic sense of our ancestors of nearly half a million years ago, as indicated by the pigments and paint grinding equipment, suggests that the creative and spiritual sensitivities demonstrated by the Neanderthals were in existence long before their time.” A discovery in 2024 showed that a Neanderthal band cared for a child with Down Syndrome until it was 6 years old – not violent and aggressive behaviour at all! A reduction in brain size in Homo Sapiens accounted for through changes in overall body size; not suprisingly some parts of the Homo brain associated with higher cognition functions have actually increased in size.
Finally, Jeremy explains that Homo Sapiens displaced other species through being more psychologically upset angry, egocentric and alienated. In Part 3 of THE Interview Jeremy explains how consciousness developed some 2 million years ago as a result of nurturing or the love-indoctrination process and refers the viewer to Chapter 7 of FREEDOM for a comprehensive explanation. Since then there has been only one major development going on and that was the psychological one. As more upset examples of Homo emerged they inevitably displaced more innocent, older versions, just as in our own time more ‘primitive’ races have been displaced by the more upset. You might be interested in paragraph 907 of chapter 8:15 of FREEDOM, which discusses “Anthropology now evidences this progression in upset, with the more innocent Neanderthals [which lived from 400,000 to 40,000 years ago], Denisovans, Flores man and Red Deer Cave people being replaced around this time by more upset modern humans.”

“Please help this critical new science by sharing the above video and making an appreciative comment about it” ?????
Are only appreciative comments allowed? Isn’t that so called cherry picking? Aren’t none-appreciative and critical comments necessary for the advancement of scientific ideas?
In my opinion all this is hogwash without any supportive evidence whatever! Instead of citing diverse ancient philosophers and outdated beliefs of bonobo behaviour, why not present scientic research—if any—supporting your ideas?
WTM Admin
We certainly respect your right to an alternate view, Etienne, but your comment is uninformed as comments on this long thread, and all our other threads of comments, reflect a fair representation of the feedback we receive. This includes counter opinion, and critical and negative feedback, however, we do reserve the right to moderate the comments to ensure the thread is as constructive as possible, as is explained on our website. Also Jeremy Griffith’s biological treatise of the human condition has received significant scientific evaluation, and, subsequent to that, scientific support from eminent scientists and thinkers (see here on our homepage) but is not yet widely accepted by the mechanistic scientific establishment. This is not unexpected given it is a human-condition-confronting, holistic and induction-derived scientific work; see our FAQ 1.7 ‘What scientific support does Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition have?’.
When you say ‘outdated beliefs of bonobo behaviour’ if you are referring to the 2024 study, led by Boston University’s Dr Maud Mouginot, about bonobo aggression, we recommend reading our FAQ 5.2 titled ‘How did we humans acquire our all-loving, unconditionally selfless moral conscience?/ What do the nurtured and cooperative bonobos tell us about our own evolutionary heritage? / How do you account for reports that bonobos hunt and kill, and even that male bonobos are more aggressive than chimpanzee males?’. You will see there an analysis of that report, including that ‘the types of aggression counted were often mild…[and]…there is a world of difference between bonobo and chimpanzee ‘aggression’: male chimpanzees use violence to coerce females into sex, regularly kill competing males, practice infanticide and form troops that raid and kill members of neighbouring chimpanzee groups; whereas in bonobo society, females rule and choose their mates, males bicker but have never killed another bonobo, and whole groups mingle peacefully with neighbouring groups.’
It needs to be emphasised that the subject of the human condition that Jeremy Griffith’s treatise addresses is the most important but also the most difficult and thus contentious of all subjects for humans to address because it deals with the ultimate confronting issue of ‘self’. When the renowned Harvard biologist E.O. Wilson wrote, ‘There is no grail more elusive or precious in the life of the mind than the key to understanding the human condition’ (The Social Conquest of Earth, 2012, p.1), he was making this point that while ‘understanding the human condition’ is the most ‘precious’ ‘grail’ of science, it is also the most ‘elusive’ ‘grail’ because the subject is the most difficult of all subjects for humans to engage with. It therefore has to be expected that Jeremy’s treatise on the human condition can cause hostile unfair attacks on it.
With that consideration in mind, we strongly recommend that anyone, such as yourself, who has concerns about the scientific validity of Jeremy’s treatise on the human condition, read FAQ 1.10 as it addresses the full range of criticisms his treatise has attracted from those accustomed to science’s prevailing human-condition-avoiding, mechanistic paradigm—answering as it does, the questions of ‘Why does mechanistic science ignore, even attack, Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition? / Is this pseudo-science? / If this is real science, why isn’t it published in ‘peer-reviewed’ journals? / Does this treatise present new data and is it testable; in fact is it science at all? / Is this treatise inductive or deductive science? / What historical evidence is there for the ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation? / How does science confirm the ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation? / Does the treatise have ‘explanatory power’?/ Is this a ‘non-falsifiable’, circular argument?’

I understand your view but it still works out to a concious choise of how we behave towards others usually for our own benefit or to seem to fit in
WTM Admin
Hi Gladys, it does take a little time to fully absorb the significance of finally being able to explain the human condition. What it means is we now have the ability, for the first time, to understand every aspect of human behaviour and our behaviour will change naturally as a result. As THE Interview explains all humans are born with all-loving moral instincts but now variously suffer from a psychosis due to the human condition caused by the conscious mind’s necessary search for knowledge. In Part 3 especially Jeremy evidences this key biological distinction that humans suffer from the conscious-mind-based, psychologically troubled human condition, not the genetic-opportunism-based, animal condition. And, most importantly, as Part 4 explains a psychosis can be healed with understanding, so our psychologically upset human nature (or selfish behaviour) is fixable or changeable—not unchangeable, which is what it would essentially be if our competitive and aggressive nature was instinctive; if it was something that is in our genes and we were born with. That is the power of this understanding but you are right in the sense that people still need to choose to use it but the more people do, the more people will want to, as that choice brings a complete and permanent end to our insecurity-driven selfish behaviour, completely transforming humans into secure and happy beings, which is further explained and illustrated on our Transformation page!

That’s marvellous Theresa that Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ treatise has touched you so deeply and yes we can legitimately return “home” to our original cooperative, loving and nurturing instinctive selves because the human condition has been confronted and solved! It is only with the intellect defended for why it had to defy our loving instincts and become angry, egocentric and alienated, do we have the foundation to truly become “whole” again; that is, return to that non-upset ideal state or home we’ve longed for, but with understanding, in a fully conscious way; as the poet T.S. Eliot anticipated, “We shall not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time” (Little Gidding, 1942). Also, now we can biologically explain what our soul is we are sure you will enjoy reading FAQ 1.26 ‘What is soul, have we all got one, has it been repressed, and if so, how do we rehabilitate it?’.

Poisoning of young minds through religion is what has historically retarded human progress. Something that didn’t spring to my mind until around my 30th birthday thanks to child indoctrination inflicted on me by my adult senior educators.
My experiencing of life has led me to conclude religion is nothing but a sac of sh*t!
I’m fine with Darwin Mk I.
WTM Admin
Hi D Franklin, the human condition is the study of humans’ capacity for so-called ‘good and evil’ and is therefore the realm of inquiry where science and religion overlap, so in explaining the human condition religion is demystified and explained. Jeremy Griffith’s treatise actually reconciles science and religion by bringing biological understanding to pre-scientific concepts. With regard to religious doctrine, with this explanation we can understand the more upset people became, the more they needed to try to obey the ‘Godly’ ideals of life that religions taught, but the problem was such condemnation of upset behaviour could be extremely terrorising and oppressive. Obviously what was desperately missing was reconciling understanding of our upset behaviour and the Godly ideals; reconciling understanding of the human condition in fact—which is exactly what Jeremy presents us with. So no longer does anybody have to be terrorised by religious dogma. They can understand what such religious doctrine was providing (even though it could be hurtful) and the great role religions played in humanity’s journey (see FAQ 6.3 about understanding religion). What is also so significant and relieving about Jeremy’s explanation is we no longer have to be burdened by the fundamental question of whether we are good or bad because our core goodness as individuals and as a species has been biologically established. We can know our psychological upset was the price humans had to pay for searching for knowledge and that the human story represents the greatest, most heroic story ever told. So with these understandings we can be free from the human condition at last!!

As long as we think that other cultures are savage because their looks or culture are different, or they live closer to nature, and we that it makes us superior to them because of that we will never be able to see our own flaws in behavior.
WTM Admin
We suggest that as you digest this ‘instinct vs intellect’ understanding of the human condition you will see that it gets to the bottom of why there has been prejudice between cultures. at last we can understand that while all humans are now fully conscious and part of the extremely upset stage of humanity, H. sapiens sapiens, and are therefore nowhere near as innocent as humans were some 2 million years ago when the battle of the human condition first emerged, there are more innocent or sheltered ‘races’ (ethnic groups), and there are races that have been more exposed to the battle than others, which resulted in endless prejudice where the more innocent would think the more upset were ‘bad’, and the more upset would be confronted by the less upset and oppress them in return, creating all sorts of mental anguish and trauma. However, the key, compassionate insight that upset is not ‘bad’ allows us to reconcile the more upset with the less upset, which puts an end to all prejudices and oppression; in other words, despite the differing levels of upset due to everyone’s different encounters with humanity’s heroic battle to find knowledge, we are all equally good. You might like to read our FAQ 9.1 about how this puts an end to racism and for testimonials on the power of this knowledge to end racism, we recommend the presentations from Franklin Mukakanga and Refentse Molosiwa in Video/Freedom Essay 8.

This relieves people from the human condition resulting from biblical teachings. People of other faiths do not believe that humans are fundamentally bad. Like Islam and Judaism, probably Budhism and Hinduism as well and perhaps others that I don’t know about.

Thanks for your thoughts, Em. As THE Interview explains, the source of the human condition is the ‘instinct vs intellect’ clash; and we can now appreciate that religion has played a significant role as both the custodian of honesty about the ideal state and our ‘fall’ from it; as well as a means of solace for those exhausted by the corrupting journey to find the liberating understanding of condition took place. Certainly all religions provide different slants on our condition depending on the state of the society in which they exist, with some focussing on humanity’s ‘fallen state’ more than others; however, as author Richard Heinberg says (quoted in THE Interview): “Every religion begins with the recognition that human consciousness has been separated from the divine Source, that a former sense of oneness… has been lost… everywhere in religion and myth there is an acknowledgment that we have departed from an original… innocence and can return to it only through the resolution of some profound inner discord.” It is this resolution of the source of the separation and discord that Jeremy Griffith’s instinct vs intellect explanation of the human condition provides and why it is praised as such a great breakthrough by thought leaders and the general public around the world which you can see here on our homepage.

FAQ 1.3 presents a very brief summary of the key ‘instinct vs intellect’ concept. Essentially, when we humans developed a conscious mind some 2 million years ago, a battle unavoidably developed between it and our already established cooperative instincts. The result of this conflict between our instinct and intellect was that we became psychologically defensive, angry, alienated and egocentric – the upset state we refer to as the human condition. But now that we can explain and understand this conflict, all those insecure, defensive behaviours are obsoleted, brought to an end, and we free ourselves from the human condition.

In Part 3 of THE Interview Jeremy Griffith explains how we became fully conscious which developed as a result of nurturing or the love-indoctrination process. The glaring question when considering the question of how humans became conscious is why no other animals have developed it, given it is such an incredible advantage. Answers to this have suggested that it is because the brain is too energy ‘greedy’, however that does not stand up to scrutiny; natural selection reguarly selects for incredibly costly adaptations, such as a peacocks tail. No, Jeremy explains that developing consciousness depended on overcoming the competitive, selfish ‘animal condition’ and becoming orientated to selflessness, so if a species is still preoccupied with selfish, competitive dominance, as other animals are, they can’t become fully conscious. He refers the viewer to chapter 7 of his definitive book FREEDOM which provides a comprehensive explanation — a summary of which is in FAQ 5.4.

While it takes some time to digest, we suggest that what is unique about Jeremy Griffith’s work is that he has answered the essential question of why, when the universal ideals are to be integrative are we so disintegrative? Our endeavours in philosophy, psychology and biology have failed, until now, to provide a truthful, real, fully accountable, genuinely clarifying explanation. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents here.

This is an enlightening and uplifting view of the Human Condition. The entire human race would benefit greatly by giving consideration to and by acting/reacting our behavior in accordance with this point of view. Thank you for your presentation.
Extremely important breakthrough.
Are you humans are in this predicament because of sin
I’m so grateful for the wonderful insights that are being shared in this interview.

Common sense which is not so common anymore
A completely new out look on the human Condition. It should be taught in schools. It can be the foundation for the long awaited for evolution of the human race. Thank you
I have read much of Mr. Griffith’s work with interest. I believe he thinks of mankind as coming from an almost perfect past and now descending into a crude and non-spiritual present. My reading of history would suggest the opposite. My hope would be that,in time, evolution will improve the brain of ‘man’such that our fear of differences will abate. One very religious person recently told me, ’Forget about evolution,it is only man’s adoption of Godly principles that will save us.' Good luck with that!
So the real psychotherapy of our collective and individual psychoses can begin” (see FAQ 1.34).So Jeremy’s is not putting forward that we have “now descended into a crude and non-spiritual present”. / Isn’t ‘spirituality’ beyond a purely rational explanation?’In terms of the religious person’s comment you mention the human condition is the study of humans’ capacity for so-called ‘good and evil’ and is therefore the realm of inquiry where science and religion overlap, so in explaining the human condition religion is demystified and explained. They can understand what such religious doctrine was providing and the great role religions played in humanity’s journey (see FAQ 6.3 about understanding religion).I’m glad that I stumbled your videos. Sociology plays a role in understanding how the environment influences us on a mental level. There is plenty of research that couples biology and sociology to examine the environmental effects on our mental, physical, and emotional health.
Thank you for the interview, a massive topic and so informative. I guess I have a lot of exploration ahead. Thank you. PS I believe those primates were vegetarian is there anything in that. ?
Hi Rod, it’s great to learn you found THE Interview so informative. As Jeremy Griffith points out in Part 2 of this interview, the issue of the human condition has been such a denied and off-limits subject that confronting it represents the “biggest of all blasphemies” so it does take a little time to consider all that is presented. We assume the primate you are asking about is the bonobo Jeremy discusses in THE Interview. These cooperative and gentle primates mainly have a vegetable diet but studies show that they do occasionally capture and eat small game to supplement their diet with protein; however they do not routinely hunt down and eat large animals such as colobus monkeys, like common chimpanzees do.As is explained in THE Interview bonobos represent a close model of our human ancestors and evidence the ‘love indoctrination’ process that accounts for both their cooperative behaviour and that of our ancestors – this is fully explained in FAQ 5.2 ‘What do the nurtured and cooperative bonobos tell us about our own evolutionary heritage?’ However, as is explained, bonobos have not yet completed the ‘love indoctrination’ process which explains why there are vestiges of meat eating (and sexual opportunism) in their behaviour. Owen Lovejoy to write that “our species-defining cooperative mutualism can now be seen to extend well beyond the deepest Pliocene [well beyond 5.3 mya]”. )It is worth noting that the reason humans later went on to develop meat eating and hunting some 2 million years ago was because of their upset psychology (see Jeremy’s definitive book FREEDOM chapter 8, especially chapter 8:7). You might also find this WTM blog article ‘The ancient human diet and why we departed from it’ of interest.Ooh"my gracious, where’s you were all that time, that’s actually we’ve need this man is come to save the world everyone needs to listening to this,I really appreciate your work’s I that’s takes you alots of time to bring it out,may god continue to bless you and give you more knowledge to come
I’m looking forward to hearing what he has to say.
Maybe science would eventually eliminate this egocentric attitude that we human beings instinctively associate with our sub conscious mindset.
Very good
Well sir, thank you for your dedication work and the results have been mind blowing; now I understand the not only our mother love but nurturing of behaviour of community of group around us, which became conscious of our minds and actions. Thanks for sharing I’m looking forward of reading your book Mr Griffith.
Excellent work...

Wow. Thank you
When Adam n Eve disobeyed to not eat the apple from the tree, God banished Adam n Eve from Eden. Isn’t that a lesson or teaching them, feelings of being condemned, upset, n punished? Thank you.
I am so impressed with the interview. The positivety and exitement touch me. I see it as a wonderful break-through for everyone.
Very interesting scientific talk about mankind’s biological future! Thank you! Congratulations!
This is quite impressive, quite an eye opener. I am quite optimistic to hear, learn more and gain understanding by delving into the human condition.
What made a difference for you? am open to understanding and
Thank you for your thoughts Roger.
Awesome Interview. The absolute definition of Mankind and the nature of humanity.
Thank you!
This is already making good sense and I feel I must learn more. Thankyou ppl
Wow!!! 🌹❤️🔥
I have always wondered why we are stagnant in our thinking, afraid as if we had reached our last place in our cerebral rigours, and boom another biological Martin Luther.
After watching the interview, I was touched and excited. How I wish everyone would feel the same way and PREPARED FOR THE RAPTURE that will SOON take Place!!!
Very impressive indeed, I think it is a new break through for us humans. I really appreciate to have a electronic copy please. I am from Papua new Guinea 🇵🇬 Merry Christmas.

We have it in ourselves to make the change needed. If we do not change, we will probably destroy the Human Race and this planet.
THANK you 😊
Wonderful insightful information 👏
Brilliant
Jeremy’s Theory of understanding Humanity 2 million years ago and Humanity now. He elaborated the condition of Darwin’s theory which is in conflict with the Creation in the Bible, the latter was absorbed by humanity to now and the evolvement of science. That makes the difference. Thanks Jeremy for your observations related to Darwin’s Theory now sharing to the world the conditions of humanity millions of years ago.
This is a wonderful revolutionary feat. Way to go.. so when Adam gets the win which he so desperately wanted it’s a release of dopamine in our reward center in the brain which is basically addiction. Hmm so profound
Certainly there are biochemical flow-on effects of being able to understand the human condition at last, but the real relief comes from understanding that we are basically good. It is the ability to understand that brings profound relief from all manner of anxiety such as our need for distraction.
Fascinating
Yes everyone can benefit... but need to talk to someone to understand more

EPIC !
Neanderthals were extremely violent they had bigger brains and that part of the brain that was superfluous had meant to the aggressive violent behavior of the Neanderthals to evolution and natural selections the actual brain of humans shrunk during this evolutionary period
You might be interested in paragraph 907 of chapter 8:15 of FREEDOM, which discusses “Anthropology now evidences this progression in upset, with the more innocent Neanderthals [which lived from 400,000 to 40,000 years ago], Denisovans, Flores man and Red Deer Cave people being replaced around this time by more upset modern humans.”Very insightful 👏

I don’t know what to say except it all makes sense
Jeremy Griffith’s analysis lacks sufficient insight into the fact that the essence of existence is mystery and that the instantiant existant exists in and as this mystery observing it from the condition within it that is it.
Leo, we suggest that the more you digest this explanation, the more you will see that it does not rob life or explanations of life of its ‘spiritual’ dimension.

The information was intriguing, want to know more.
This is the answer humans need to understand the human condition and try to change its course.
This is not unexpected given it is a human-condition-confronting, holistic and induction-derived scientific work; see our FAQ 1.7 ‘What scientific support does Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition have?’.When you say ‘outdated beliefs of bonobo behaviour’ if you are referring to the 2024 study, led by Boston University’s Dr Maud Mouginot, about bonobo aggression, we recommend reading our FAQ 5.2 titled ‘How did we humans acquire our all-loving, unconditionally selfless moral conscience?/ What do the nurtured and cooperative bonobos tell us about our own evolutionary heritage? / How do you account for reports that bonobos hunt and kill, and even that male bonobos are more aggressive than chimpanzee males?’. You will see there an analysis of that report, including that ‘the types of aggression counted were often mild…[and]…there is a world of difference between bonobo and chimpanzee ‘aggression’: male chimpanzees use violence to coerce females into sex, regularly kill competing males, practice infanticide and form troops that raid and kill members of neighbouring chimpanzee groups; whereas in bonobo society, females rule and choose their mates, males bicker but have never killed another bonobo, and whole groups mingle peacefully with neighbouring groups.’It needs to be emphasised that the subject of the human condition that Jeremy Griffith’s treatise addresses is the most important but also the most difficult and thus contentious of all subjects for humans to address because it deals with the ultimate confronting issue of ‘self’. It therefore has to be expected that Jeremy’s treatise on the human condition can cause hostile unfair attacks on it.With that consideration in mind, we strongly recommend that anyone, such as yourself, who has concerns about the scientific validity of Jeremy’s treatise on the human condition, read FAQ 1.10 as it addresses the full range of criticisms his treatise has attracted from those accustomed to science’s prevailing human-condition-avoiding, mechanistic paradigm—answering as it does, the questions of ‘Why does mechanistic science ignore, even attack, Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition? / Is this pseudo-science? / If this is real science, why isn’t it published in ‘peer-reviewed’ journals? / Does this treatise present new data and is it testable; in fact is it science at all? / Is this treatise inductive or deductive science? / What historical evidence is there for the ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation? / How does science confirm the ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation? / Does the treatise have ‘explanatory power’?/ Is this a ‘non-falsifiable’, circular argument?’Very great explanation of our human origin Thanks Mr Jeremy
I understand your view but it still works out to a concious choise of how we behave towards others usually for our own benefit or to seem to fit in
Hi Gladys, it does take a little time to fully absorb the significance of finally being able to explain the human condition.
This is a mouthful of truth truthfully told by this author. An amazing way to make a tricky situation so easy to understand.
This information is so much appreciated!
It was an excellent and enlightening interview
Listening to this spoke to my soul with its Truth! It felt like I had finally come Home!! Just Yes after Yes and more Yes! We are all of a piece/peace, and the Workd is Our Creation—second by second, minute by minute through each choice we make of Our personal energetic, spoken and unspoken, Input into The Creation of Our Reality!! Thank you so much for your generosity and sharing your wisdom. I pray it will stimulate all who hear it to take up their piece of the whole and make it vibrate at whatever level of Love & Appreciation for it they truly Feel from their Soul Out as far as infinity reaches—-Mwah!!
This revelation is astonishing, mind-blowing and it positions man on the expected knowledge.
Never give on HOPE for us ALL!!!
Certainly food for thought. Very worth listening to. There is hope for the human race, after all.
That’s really nice to know thank you 😊
Poisoning of young minds through religion is what has historically retarded human progress. Something that didn’t spring to my mind until around my 30th birthday thanks to child indoctrination inflicted on me by my adult senior educators. My experiencing of life has led me to conclude religion is nothing but a sac of sh*t! I’m fine with Darwin Mk I.
Stunning
Surprisen. [Surprising (tr. from German)]
Hope for us all!
Excellent! I have been digging beyond the surface of exploring this topic as a means to better understand the basics that the human species has so screwed up life for individuals, families and communities across the globe, the only species that deliberately systematically destroyed. Its habitat....
As long as we think that other cultures are savage because their looks or culture are different, or they live closer to nature, and we that it makes us superior to them because of that we will never be able to see our own flaws in behavior.
A much needed balm. Every one should hear this at least once.
Great 👍
Thank you for your very insightful messages. I applaud the both of you for bringing these messages to life.
This is a fantastic and wonderful explanation. Thanks
You may be interested in our FAQs about the demystification of religion may be of interest.Interesting and informative
What is it
FAQ 1.3 presents a very brief summary of the key ‘instinct vs intellect’ concept.
Thanks for sharing, love it, I need to read this book.
I want to read the book.
It’s great you want to read Jeremy Griffith’s book FREEDOM which is free on our homepage here to read online or download. (You can also download the free Kindle version from Amazon, otherwise you can purchase hard copies from Amazon or other good bookstores.)
I want to read this book
Thank you. ❤
Great
This was such a needed and fresh explanation of the human condition.
I find the account of the emergence of consciousness unsatisfactory.
Absolutely Awesome.
I am 82yo I feel an acception to this subject or reception there of. Retired Psy. Nurse I am !
Real and satisfying
It the most eye opening interview I ever heard, release yourself from condemnation, the fear of sin and together with one purpose to the heal our planet and all that live here.
Excellent interview, very enlightening
I’m glad to stumble on this mind boggling revelation of the solution to the human condition. Wow, it’s really amazing.
Thanks for understanding and being honest this is the #1part of healing
Thankyou for bringing clarity and a simple explanation to the World. Love this. ❤️
You have brought clarity to humanity.
I am certain that you folks don’t understand what Mind Consciousness Peace and Freedom is!!! Enlightenment simply is the ability to see each moment as it really is. The solution to hierarchies war poverty and molesting is to give all life from birth till passing truth in knowledge, equality and abundance without ever war poverty or molesting. Without question, we are the answers.
Great
Agreed. Great insights here about the human condition... Very fascinating... We got to lose ourselves to find ourselves. Love it all the way. I need to hear more like such.
