I love Dostovesky! I LOVE Dostovesky!

WTM Admin

Yes Kara, Fyodor Dostoevsky certainly was a great Russian novelist! For those who aren’t aware in THE Interview biologist Jeremy Griffith includes a wonderful description of the incredible sensitivity and togetherness that our bonobo-like ape ancestors lived in, prior to us becoming conscious and the upset state of the human condition emerged, given by Dostoevsky when he penned this intuitive remembrance of that wonderful existence: “The grass glowed with bright and fragrant flowers. Birds were flying in flocks in the air, and perched fearlessly on my shoulders and arms and joyfully struck me with their darling, fluttering wings. And at last I saw and knew the people of this happy land. They came to me of themselves, surrounded me, kissed me. The children of the sun, the children of their sun—oh, how beautiful they were!…Their faces were radiant…in their words and voices there was a note of childlike joy…It was the earth untarnished by the Fall; on it lived people who had not sinned…They desired nothing and were at peace; they did not aspire to knowledge of life as we aspire to understand it, because their lives were full. But their knowledge was higher and deeper than ours…but I could not understand their knowledge. They showed me their trees, and I could not understand the intense love with which they looked at them; it was as though they were talking with creatures like themselves…and I am convinced that the trees understood them. They looked at all nature like that—at the animals who lived in peace with them and did not attack them, but loved them, conquered by their love…There was no quarrelling, no jealousy among them…for they all made up one family” (The Dream of a Ridiculous Man, 1877). How enthralled and excited would Dostoevsky have been with this critical new science that explains how humans acquired our instinctive moral conscience or soul!! You might find these FAQs fascinating Kara: FAQ 1.26 ‘What is Soul’ and FAQ 5.2 ‘How did we humans acquire our all-loving, unconditionally selfless moral conscience?’

This is a stunning and brilliant analysis and treatise of the human condition! The trick will be to find a way for people to buy the idea that we are in a psychotic state that can be corrected by understanding. I’m already on board!

WTM Admin

It’s great to have you on board Michael!! Once people get through their historic fear of looking into the human condition they quickly see explanation of it brings profound relief and excitement precisely because our psychotic behaviour isn’t genetic and therefore can be corrected with understanding (see FAQ 1.1 ‘What exactly is the human condition? / And why have humans been so fearful of it? / And why do most people suffer from a ‘Deaf Effect’ when they try to read or listen to discussion of the human condition?’). As Jeremy Griffith explains in Part 1 of THE Interview: “And it is actually really good news that our behaviour is due to a conscious-mind-based psychologically troubled condition because psychoses can be healed with understanding. If our competitive and aggressive behaviour was due to us having savage instincts then we would be stuck with that born-with, hard-wired, innate behaviour. It would mean we could only ever hope to restrain and control those supposedly brutal instincts. But since our species’ divisive behaviour is due to a psychosis, that divisive behaviour can be cured with healing understanding. So that is very good news. In fact, incredibly exciting news, because with understanding we can finally end our psychologically troubled human condition. It’s the understanding of ourselves that we needed to heal the pain in our brains and become sound and sane again.” The other good news is this fear or initial ‘deaf effect’ people can have to analysis of the human condition can be overcome allowing people to easily access the solution to the human condition. This is illustrated in The Great Guilt that causes the Deaf Effect presentation, that follows THE Interview, where people talk about how they overcame the deaf effect and Jeremy further explains just how relieving and healing finally being able to understand the human condition is and how it actually lifts The Great Burden Of Guilt from the human race!

Listen, just listen.

Zlatko Ovcina

Our brain is cloud of concessions and non-concessions.

WTM Admin

Hi Zlatko, thank you for your comment. The good news is biologist Jeremy Griffith explains that our self-interested, compromising behaviour is not instinctive, rather it is psychological in origin, the result of a clash between our emerging conscious mind, and pre-established loving instincts. Most importantly, psychoses can be healed with understanding, so that’s the importance of the psychosis-addressing-and-solving, explanation of the human condition presented in THE Interview — it brings a complete and permanent end to our insecurity-driven behaviour, clears our mind and completely transforms all humans into secure, generous and happy beings, see FAQ 1.3 ‘What is biologist Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition?’

Greg Pickard

I believe it

Ofelia M. Ulloa

I truly enjoyed this interview! To reach this transformation of the human condition is to find the universal language that touches everyone’s heart.....and that is through music: the universal language of the heart ❤️! Let’s touch the world through this wonderful tool....we need it...it will transform our souls, our essence....our loving nature. When we give love....our response will also be loving. Don’t you think?

WTM Admin

It’s wonderful to learn you enjoyed THE Interview Ofelia! What Jeremy Griffith presents is immensely interesting and relieving but it introduces a massive paradigm shift in how we view ourselves and our world so it does take a little time to fully grasp. The transformation is based on the biological explanation of the human condition. We can now understand that our behaviour has been driven by a deep insecurity about our fundamental goodness, so now that our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to our soul’s natural way of living and be loving and selfless (see FAQ 1.4 ‘How can everyone’s lives be immediately transformed?’ and FAQ 1.26 ‘What is soul’). ‘Legitimately’ because we have the first principle science which liberates us, allowing us to be honest about our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it (FAQ 6.5 explains this critical difference between Jeremy’s work and the New Age Movement). This rapidly transforming effect is certainly something to celebrate with music and song but music isn’t the source of the lasting transformation this information brings about. You might find Jeremy’s Freedom Essays about what we can now understand about art most revealing, see Freedom Essay 44 ‘Art makes the invisible visible’ and Freedom Essay 45 ‘Prophetic Songs — and the symbolism of the rising sun’.

Kaminiel Abraham Danniel

Very VITAL INFORMATION.

Javier De La Garza

This is brilliant and makes so much sense,I use to say “It’s sad that whatever it is that we evolved from we can still act uncivilized towards each other, that we still have that animal instinct in us.” If everyone in the world could just smile at the same time Imagine the positive outcome that would come after.

WTM Admin

Yes Javier that is how most people thought before they watched THE Interview — that our uncivilised behaviour was due to us having animal instincts but as biologist Jeremy Griffith explains in this interview that was just a convenient excuse while we searched for this critical new science. We can now understand that all humans are born with all-loving, moral instincts but we now suffer from a universal psychosis caused by the clash between our instinct and intellect. We became psychologically upset and alienated from our original selfless state because of our conscious mind’s necessary, and indeed heroic, search for knowledge. Now we have this psychosis-addressing-and-solving real explanation of our destructive and brutal behaviour we can legitimately smile again because we can be honest about our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it (FAQ 6.5 explains the huge difference between Jeremy’s work and the New Age Movement).

Louis Pasquarello

How do you explain the ability of people to connect through meditation to great truths that all humans accept as true, without researching the progress in psychological, theological and philosophical agreeing disciplines? How do people meditate and reach deep understandings of the world’s great moral truths?

WTM Admin

Meditation and other practices have been necessary and invaluable tools in helping us manage and cope with our psychological upset under the duress of the human condition. They calm the troubled mind and help us access our truthful moral soul (see FAQ 1.26 ‘What is soul, have we all got one, has it been repressed, and if so, how do we rehabilitate it?’) but these techniques don’t address and solve the agony of the human condition. Fundamentally they are about escaping the pain in our brains, rather than directly addressing and dealing with the cause which Jeremy’s treatise does. Our conscious minds ultimately needed rational, reconciling understanding of our conflicted selves (the core issue of the human condition) to truly heal and re-unite with our truthful soul, so it is only now with Jeremy’s scientific explanation of the human condition that we can relieve ourselves of our psychologically upset state or condition and stop the destruction of our world and the disintegration of society that is happening everywhere we look. This critical difference is explained in FAQ 6.5 ‘Is this just another self-help, New Age, pseudo idealistic, superficial-treatment-of-psychosis type movement?’

Douglas Pepple

Insightful, game positive changer. The whole world must read this.

Well, have watched such an incredible, amazing yet profound solution for what has been ailing humanity for centuries, rehabilitating human condition, without so many words, anyone would simply take interest for the obvious reason, it has been a real bother ever since creation, I am personally grateful not only for Jeremy for expounding the subject so well but also for the solutions to humanitarian persistent crisis

Thomas Skaggs

That’s putting yourself in the place of God. The psychology of the illogical way of saying man is by nature going to become better and wisdom will rule the day . Out of all that’s going on today what is going to happen with humanity how can we sensibly we can stop and control ourselves and others behavior?

WTM Admin

We are respectful of everyone’s beliefs, but do suggest that while religions contained extraordinary truth about human life, it was all from a pre-scientific view, and that ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that clarifying difference means we can now understand that we had to defy our instincts, which is why this great breakthrough is described as ‘redeeming’. It follows that by finding the good reason we had to defy our instincts, we can reconcile ourselves with them, because all our defensive behaviours (our anger, egocentricity and alienation) are now redundant. We no longer need them because we have the real defense for why we had to defy our instincts. We recommend reading FAQ 6.3 ‘Does this undermine religion?’

Aylisa Hicks

While interesting, to say “mind-blowing ”is a huge stretch for me. It is not hard at all to my conscious, unconscious, physical, spiritual, cognitive, emotional, mental,or any state you can imagine, “self” to know that mankind is innately good. But to think that by now, “revealing” this truth, that somehow we can, “solve” the human condition, is lunacy at its best. I know it was mentioned that it’s been 2 million years of this rage and lack of understanding, and evil and blah, blah, blah boiling beneath the surface because our quest for knowledge about the human condition was seen as, “bad” so therefore it will take generations and, “ some time” for the, “healing” of mankind to take place. Ok, now that you’ve explained what I, and a great many people, have always known, which I might add, has been the case throughout history as well, just because YOU( a white man) says it, it NOW makes it VALID? Typical. How do we start this healing? What’s amazing and truly mind-blowing to me, is the testimonials of the people SAYING,( if in fact they were real people and not AI ) how this interview was MIND-BLOWING, AMAZING, A BREAKTHROUGH, ETC. I kept waiting and waiting, thinking, surely there’s got to be more than some biologist stating the obvious, to be the, “BREAKTHROUGH ” to,“SAVING” mankind. So let the healing begin! On my count, 1, 2, 3, GO! What? It hasn’t started yet? Why not? Because the powers that be,especially the billionaires, in this current Trump, right wing, MAGA nation who have shown that integrity, compassion, humanity, and LOVE do not exist, will NEVER agree to this ideology! Because in their minds they are good Christians(Nationalists).Power, greed, money and mediocrity rule the day,and you STILL can’t explain away racism, slavery and genocide, as part of the human condition when mankind couldn’t hold back the rage boiling beneath the surface.( 400 years ) Really? I doubt my words will be shown, because I’m not praising this interview, also typical.

WTM Admin

While it takes some time to digest, we suggest that what is unique about Jeremy Griffith’s work is that he has answered the essential question of why, when the universal ideals are to be integrative are we so disintegrative? Our endeavours in philosophy, psychology and biology have failed, until now, to provide a truthful, real, fully accountable, genuinely clarifying explanation. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents here. We suggest FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this original or new?’ and Video/Freedom Essay 4, which expands further on other thinkers (both ancient and contemporary) who have recognised instinct and intellect elements involved in creating the human condition. This is of great importance because having found the good reason that we had to defy our instincts means all our defensive, ‘bad’ behaviours (our anger, egocentricity and alienation) are now redundant. There couldn’t be a bigger breakthrough. As psychiatrist Professor Harry Prosen, a former President of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, wrote: “the beauty of Griffith’s treatise is that the healing starts at the macro level of the universal human condition; the healing of the shame and blame that the whole human race has suffered from…It brings the greater context and love to all human psychosis and suffering, and then, from under the umbrella of that safe position, everyone can gradually work inwards to their particular experience of all the imperfections in human life that have now, finally, been made sense of” — see FAQ 1.34 ‘How does understanding the human race’s condition help with an individual’s depression and psychosis?’

Explain unscientific racism that controls the colonial world, the west looting Africa, and feel good about it.. You too are a victim of this psychopathy..

WTM Admin

This breakthrough instinct vs intellect explanation of the human condition establishes the equality of all humans and brings compassionate and thus safe understanding to ALL of human behaviour — including why the horror of racism has existed under the duress of the human condition and, most importantly, finally brings it to an end, see FAQ 9.1 ‘How do you explain racism?’. For a testimonial on the power of this information to end racism, we recommend watching/reading the presentation from Franklin Mukakanga of Zambia, and Refentse Molosiwa from Mahikeng, South Africa, in Video/Freedom Essay 8.

I found this presentation to be an excellent source for the Truth.

Carol Robinson

I am waking up and know a lot we have been taught in schools are lies and blinding our thoughts. Our history and science is all fraudulent. This site is good to help us know where we really came from.

WTM Admin

Yes, in THE Interview it is explained that the idea that we have ‘savage instincts’, an idea that most people adhere to and which is widely taught, is not right – the truth is that our instinctive legacy, and therefore our species' history, is loving, cooperative and compassionate. With this compassionate understanding of our current corrupted condition we can now admit the truth about our loving past because it no longer condemns us.

Jesus Rhernandez

Amazing understandable like 1 2 3 with easy humane as a humane can be love love love it thank you so much

Connie Baker

A little verbose I’ll have t read that a few times!

WTM Admin

Thanks Connie, that is certainly what we recommend. Its worth bearing in mind though, that great care has been taken to present the explanation as quickly and simply as possible (which is done in Part 1), however THE Interview also explains the very nature of the human condition means discussion of it can be initially difficult to access. This is because historically the issue of whether we are fundamentally good or bad has been the most terrifying of all subjects to face, and so we have necessarily lived in almost total denial of it, which means our minds can initially struggle to hear and absorb discussion about it. Wonderfully however, this ‘deaf effect’ can be overcome with patient perseverance and everyone can access this most wonderful of all gifts of understanding the human condition! See our FAQ 1.16 which includes the question ‘please send me an executive summary so I have some idea of what you’re trying to say?’.     Also, FAQ 1.3 presents a very brief summary of the key ‘instinct vs intellect’ concept. Essentially, when we humans developed a conscious mind some 2 million years ago, a battle unavoidably developed between it and our already established cooperative instincts. The result of this conflict between our instinct and intellect was that we became psychologically defensive, angry, alienated and egocentric – the upset state we refer to as the human condition. But now that we can explain and understand this conflict, all those insecure, defensive behaviours are obsoleted, brought to an end, and we free ourselves from the human condition.

FREDRICK O. GOGO

This is absolutely an eye opener, this should be available in Medical and other high learning institutions. Furthermore a simplified version should also be developed and published for the Gen zs learning.

WTM Admin

Thanks very much Frederick. We just wanted to say that the issue with Gen Z not being able to ‘take in’ or ‘absorb’ this information is not because it is not simmple, but because, as explained in THE Interview, it does open up the historically off-limits subject of the human condition, so people can initially struggle to access or ‘hear’ what is being explained. FAQ 1.16 further explains this initial ‘deaf effect’. However, as momentum grows, everybody will shake off their fear of this subject, and realise that what is being offered is not only simple to understand, but the compassionate and redeeming explanation for our corrupted state that humanity has been searching for for so long.

Brilliant!..

Kola Fue

I have a general basic idea of what you were explaining in the interview, and felt such a great sense of relief to hear this. The world we live in today, the pain and suffering in human kind around the world, then on the other hand the rich and famous world with millions and billions of dollars, shows a world devided, lack of compassion for those so much less fortunate. I had a recent conversation with my close friend, and said, imagine if every country in the world was led by a female president;war would end, poverty will end, we would create a more loving and peaceful world for our children to feel safe, a world where our children of today and generations to follow to thrive and be the best they can be to make this world a better place. Creating a kind world we all share, care and love one another. God is Good❣️

WTM Admin

There is a lot to digest here Kola, but we hope you persevere, because it does provide the ulimate answer to why there is so much “pain and suffering around the world”. The answer hasn’t been to replace men with women because it turns out that men have been engaged in the most important task on the planet, which is to defy our instincts and continue the corrupting search for knowledge, because in the end, it was only this knowledge that could bring peace to our divided state. So what is so significant about the explanation of the human conditon that Jeremy Griffith is presenting is that this understanding defends our so-called ‘dark side’ and explains that despite all appearances to the contrary, all humans are ‘good’. And paradoxically, by explaining the very good reason why our intellect had to defy our instincts, it makes redundant our defensive behaviours of anger, egocentricity and alienation, allowing us to end the perpetuation of our destructive behaviour!

Joseph cue

This revelation is quite mind-boggling. It needs to be explored Deeply and digested thoroughly in our most sincere understanding of our human mind. The best ever

Dimakatso

The human condition is easily solved by self awareness and unconditional positive regard for others. Another important point is to have emotional intelligence meanwhile everyone learns the above two - self awareness and unconditional positive. One scholarship indicated that everyone is the process of becoming they could be, there is no need to pull each other down because everyone is practically in their process. Once one understand this you only remain in awe of everyone because they are trying their best to be the best. A healthy mind is then born from this, we can only support one another to become the best at individual level. Imagine what the collective would be like if we all develop this healthy mind.

WTM Admin

Thank you for your thoughts Dimakatso. In THE Interview biologist Jeremy Griffith explains what our mind needs is the answer to the age old question of humanity’s extremely paradoxical nature: why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish?! Without this answer we have heroically tried different techniques for calming, restraining, repressing, and even transcending our psychologically upset human condition, including trying to embrace a positive self-aware or mindful mindset. This has been very valuable in managing our upset, but none of them have stopped the destruction of our world and the disintegration of society that is happening everywhere we look. The reason is because they don’t solve the human condition and they can’t because they don’t deal with the source of our species’ corrupted condition and bring relieving understanding to it. This is what Jeremy’s treatise does and why it is heralded as the biological breakthrough that can save the world. To quote from our FAQ 6.5 which explains this critical difference between Jeremy’s work and self-help or new age type movements, “There has been much talk of the need to love each other and the environment, but the real need on Earth has been to love the dark side of ourselves, to find reconciling and redeeming understanding of our species’ extraordinary capacity for brutality, selfish indifference to others, hate, anger, oppression, meanness, cruelty, devastation and destruction—to explain the psychological origins of our deeply distressed so-called human condition and by so doing heal our troubled souls and set ourselves free from our 2-million-years corrupted condition.” So our mind needs answers or knowledge—anything less was bound to be ineffective. What this critical new science provides os the real and lasting transformation that the human race has lived in hope, faith and trust would one day occur. It is the revolution of our minds.

Kim

Wonderful insights. Allowing us to thank our elders, our forebears, our ancestors. Instead of an omniscient god. Much as the first nations of Australia do. And giving a renewed appreciation of my own heritage.

WTM Admin

Yes Kim these are absolutely wonderful insights that explain our origins from some 12 million years ago! At last we can explain the entire human journey and the fundamental goodness of humans which reconciles and unites all races and cultures and certainly brings a deep appreciation our own heritage. We can now understand that the human race started out innocent and then became increasingly corrupted as a result of the heroic search for knowledge. This key insight allows us to understand that indigenous ‘races’, who have been relatively sheltered from humanity’s heroic battle to find knowledge, will be more ‘innocent’, or less psychologically upset, than those ‘races’ more exposed to the battle. This explains why indigenous peoples have so much affinity with humans instinctive cooperative way of living, their ancestors and the natural world; however, even indigenous peoples are only ‘relatively’ innocent, because all humans are now part of the extremely upset stage of humanity, H. sapiens sapiens, and are therefore nowhere near as innocent as humans were some two million years ago when the battle of the human condition first emerged. But, what is most significant, is that despite the differing levels of upset due to everyone’s different exposure to humanity’s heroic battle to find knowledge, we can now understand that we are all equally good! Jeremy Griffith’s treatise also reconciles science and religion which demystifies abstract concepts such as God and explains, from first principle biology, that God or the nature or meaning of life is integration or order, see FAQ 5.3 ‘What is the meaning of life? / What is the Integrative Meaning of existence? / What is God?’

Also, we understand the astonishing statements made about Jeremy Griffith’s work, such as Professor Prosen claiming it “solves the human condition and saves the world”, warrant initial scepticism however these statements withstand scrutiny because this is all 100% logic — which is explained in our FAQ 1.9 ‘Should people be sceptical of the claims made about biologist Jeremy Griffith’s work?’

Una explicación tan clara que parece haber estado siempre a la mano [An explanation so clear that it seems to have been close at hand all along (translated from Spanish)].

WTM Admin

Yes Hector, the explanation of the human condition unravels and makes sense of the whole seemingly impenetrable and insoluble confusion of human life—and does so in such a simple way—it does appear ‘self obvious’ or evident. It brings to mind Thomas Huxley’s famous response to Darwin’s idea of natural selection: ‘How extremely stupid of me not to have thought of that!’ However, In THE Interview Jeremy answers the question of, ‘if the ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation is so obvious, why weren’t we taught this at school?’; and similarly our FAQ 1.14 explains that the answer to the question of, ‘Why aren’t these ideas mainstream?’, is that the human condition has historically been an off-limits subject, and as a result people can find it initially difficult to take in or ‘hear’ discussion of it.     You may already be aware of all our Spanish translations, including THE Interview and some of Jeremy Griffith’s books, including his main book FREEDOM, but if not they are on our homepage or visit our Translations page. Also, we have a WTM Centre in Madrid which was founded by David Garcia and the website includes David’s absolutely wonderful and helpful video where he so clearly relays his experience in discovering Jeremy Griffith’s scientific breakthrough. It’s narcissistic personality disorder no empathy or care for others. They hurt the people they are supposed to love. Emotional abuse is real Empaths kind loving behavior they twist everything to make it our fault. Psychopaths need help badly cause they think they are perfect. Emotionally immature people all about self. No grey matter in brain. I’ve looked into this past 5 years cause it’s crazy 24 years married to one mirrored me in beginning not his true self mask fell off when mad upset not get his way. Like arguing with a toddler. Thanks for sharing

WTM Admin

Thank you for your thoughts April. As THE Interview explains all humans are born with loving moral instincts but we now variously suffer from a psychosis due to the human condition and, in the extreme, that psychologically conflicted upset state produces extremely destructive behaviour, including extreme states of egocentricity and narcissism, known as psychopaths or power addicts, see chapter 8:16D of Jeremy Griffith’s definitive book FREEDOM. Of course this breakthrough explanation doesn’t condone or sanction the horrendous atrocities humans can commit rather, through bringing compassionate understanding to the source of humans’ upset behaviour, it gives us the power to ameliorate and thus subside and ultimately eliminate it, see FAQ 1.38 ‘Aren’t some people just born psychopathic, or even ‘evil’? / How does this explanation rehabilitate people capable of ‘evil’ behaviour? / Does this condone ‘evil’ behaviour?’. Also Jeremy further elaborates on this need for power, control and domination in Freedom Essay 62 where he gives a full presentation of the entire human journey and how understanding of the human condition now makes possible the real therapy and rehabilitation of the human race so we hope that brings you comfort and hope April.

This is really great news! Biology and psychology combined have played the fantastic role in elimination of human ill health for better life. Revert to the garden of Eden has seemed positive and possible through Jeremy’s profound ideology and explanation. Wish to know more especially brief, short and sharp format.

WTM Admin

Yes this certainly is great news Lucas!! What is unique about Jeremy Griffith’s work is that he has answered the essential question of why, when the universal ideals are to be integrative are we so disintegrative? Our endeavours in philosophy, psychology and biology have failed, until now, to provide a truthful, real, fully accountable, genuinely clarifying explanation. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents here which makes possible the psychological rehabilitation of the human race. For instance in Part 3 of THE Interview Jeremy explains that our human instincts are loving and cooperative – that is our natural “Garden of Eden”-like state; and in Part 4, it is explained how, with the human condition now solved, all humans will be able to return to that state, but with understanding, in a fully conscious way. To learn more our homepage provides the perfect guide to all our introductory material and we also have an extensive FAQ facility, for example FAQ 1.3 provdies very brief summary of the key ‘instinct vs intellect’ concept.

Enjoying your presentation. Very thought-provoking.

Joye Rethinam

The bible that was written in 1500 BC talks about soul and spirit which are non-physical. Science could not grasp it so far. Without spirit, soul and God, human life is meaningless, purposeless and science is also meaningless. Humans have the freewill to seek truth and find it in true God. The truth sets human beings free from envy, hate, anger etc and the truth sets love, peace and joy. Jesus is the truth, the way to the ideal life of humanity.

WTM Admin

We certainly respect people’s religious views Joye but it is important to mention that Jeremy Griffith’s work doesn’t contradict a belief in God or Christianity. It simply brings biological understanding to all those pre-scientific concepts. In fact Jeremy considers the Bible to be a repository of extremely rare denial-free truth, containing all the truth about human life albeit from a pre-science view. You may find our FAQs about religion intereesting, especially 6.2 ‘What is God’ and 6.3 ‘Does this understanding undermine religion’. Jeremy also considers Christ to be one of the greatest, most sound (still able to access the truthful world of his soul), denial-free thinking prophets in history and has written about Christ’s life and its phenomenal importance in humanity’s journey in Freedom Essay 39. We also suggest our FAQ 6.7 ‘How can a scientific explanation ever hope to account for and encompass the great ‘spiritual’ dimension we know exists in life? / Isn’t ‘spirituality’ beyond a purely rational explanation?’ which is most revealing and addresses your main point.

Denis Fowler

My thoughts on our human condition I believe are due to the main faults, greed and envy, just look at politics or corporate entity’s, just follow the money.unwillingness to share without making a profit, and it goes on and on. It will be interesting if these interviews can alter my mind.

WTM Admin

Thank you for your thoughts Denis and yes we encourage you to consider what is presented here in this interview. What is so extraordinary about this breakthrough is that we can now understand the fundamental reason people become greedy and envious; we can now understand the source of our greed, and more generally, materialism. When the conscious mind went in search of knowledge a conflict between our instinct and intellect broke out, leading to an undeserved sense of guilt and insecurity that caused us to become psychologically defensive, angry, alienated and egocentric — the upset state we refer to as the human condition, a state we sought to alleviate through a competitive, selfish and aggressive bid for the reinforcement we could gain from winning power, fame, fortune and glory. This is the underlying source of our greed. But now that we can explain and understand this conflict and the guilt and insecurity it produced, all those defensive behaviours are obsoleted, brought to an end, and we free ourselves from the human condition, see our FAQ 1.6 ‘Why does this understanding solve everything’. You may also find our FAQ 1.40 helpful titled ‘Aren’t the problems of the world too overwhelming to ever be fixed? / Isn’t it too late to save the world? / How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’

Lateef

Appreciated. Inspiring, brilliant, well articulated, academic. Greek “civilization” worldview. Western human condition.

WTM Admin

Thank you for your comment Lateef and it is wonderful to have your interest. We would clarify that the human condition is a universal condition all humans and therefore cultures and societies suffer from to varying degrees. As the distinguished psychiatrist Professor Harry Prosen (who wrote the Introduction to Jeremy Grffiths’s definitive book FREEDOM) said: “What Griffith is presenting is understanding of the source insecurity that the whole human race suffers from for having destroyed our species’ innocent soul. It is a universal self-blame that his understanding at last provides healing insight into. All human behavior is saturated with that universal insecure, depressing state and resulting anger, egocentricity and alienation that has developed from it, but we finally have the compassionate foundation insight needed to dismantle all that ‘upset’/psychosis. So the real psychotherapy of our collective and individual psychoses can begin”, see FAQ 1.34.

Maralyn Reed-Wood

My take on this is mankind is approximately 10,000,000 years old and has faced extinction several times. Every time the survivors crawled out of their underground hideaways, they brought with them enlarged negative emotions: more fear, more competition for basic needs, more anger and more anxiety. Unfortunately, each time, the survivors would be, like the survivors of the mountain plane crash, the ones who were prepared to even eat their own flesh. This caused our general “fall from innocence “. Survival has become the most important human condition

WTM Admin

In Part 1 of THE Interview biologist Jeremy Griffith explains that the idea that we have ‘savage‘, ’survival of the fittest' instincts, an idea that most people adhere to and which is widely taught, is not right and is the main excuse we have had to use until we had the real defence for our condition. Jeremy evidences the truth is that our instinctive legacy is cooperative and selfless or as he describes it in Part 2 a “state of cooperative and loving innocence”. He explains that genetic selfishness normally means that animals have to be competitive in order to ensure that their genes reproduce or survive. However in Part 3 of the interview Jeremy explains that our ancestors overcame this genetic selfishness through the love-indoctrination process and developed love and cooperation, a process the fossil record and the bonobos evidence. Significantly, Jeremy’s work reveals our “fall from innocence” is not a product of unchangeable survival animal instincts within us, but the result of a psychosis, caused by the clash between our instinct and intellect. And a psychosis is changeable as it can be healed through understanding—a revelation that transforms the human race. We suggest FAQ 1.3 ‘What is the explanation’ and FAQ 5.2 ‘How did we humans acquire our all-loving, unconditionally selfless moral conscience?/ What do the nurtured and cooperative bonobos tell us about our own evolutionary heritage?’

Jeremy Griffith’s supposedly “biological” explanation of the human condition is a recapitulation of the the position taken in Buddhism, and indeed in the Veda’s thousands of years earlier. The underlying “reality” is the non-dual state where there is a profound freedom from negative control by conceptual judgements.

WTM Admin

While Buddhism and other religions contain all manner of truths about human life, it is all from a pre-scientific view. Ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents in THE Interview and his book FREEDOM. We suggest FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this original or new?’ which explains the unique significance of Jeremy Griffith’s work.

ron woods

your generalising aggressive ? how many cobbers did you grow up with are or were aggressive i can only think of ?2 theres no such case ? we ? i dont understand -

WTM Admin

Hi Ron, we suggest the more you digest this presentation, the more you realise that the human condition is behind all our actions and motivations, including our aggression. The point is that all our behaviours, whether anger, or preoccupation with ourself, or striving for approval or success, or greed, or even attempts to feel good about ourselves by ‘doing good’ etc etc, are symptoms of our insecure, human condition afflicted state. It follows that if you address that underlying insecurity, then all our other artificial sources of reinforcement will be removed. And that is what this understanding does – it addresses and solves that core insecurity about our self-worth.

Beverly Robinson

I’m truly amazed. Speechless (almost). I don’t even know how I got to this interview but so grateful I did. The explanation of the human condition makes sense. In fact I felt like I’ve been in this discussion for a long time. Thank you. Indeed we are in a dark place in this world. Shall we all start this discussion on the daily?

WTM Admin

Hi Beverly, it’s wonderful you’ve watched THE Interview and it’s resonated with you so deeply. A common reaction when people hear the explanation of the human condition for the first time, is that the explanation rings true — that despite our competitive and selfish behaviour, we have always intuitively believed we were fundamentally good, but we have never been able to explain this contradictory, conflicted condition. That is the great breakthrough Jeremy Griffith presents here — and it is bringing light to the darkness you speak of! We encourage you to keep exploring our website; you’ll see at the top of the homepage — HumanCondition.com — that it states ‘WHAT NEXT after watching THE Interview?’ and guides you through the steps to pursue your interest. We would particularly encourage you to join our booming Facebook Group because there is so much helpful, practical and inspired discussion taking place there night and day about this immensely relieving knowledge!

Robert Ede Cooper

Thank you Jeremy and WTM. I have listened to this again today. The explanation of the emergence of our human condition makes complete sense. Harry Prosen’s words recommending this work are absolutely compelling. Upset continues to build up in our world and the relevance and importance of this first principle biological explanation grows daily.

Marieta Swart

Thanks so much for an excellent enlightening of the human condition.

George Watson

Not quite news, but many have guessed that the inmates are in fact, running the asylum. Clearly the idea our ‘bad’ behavior as a species isn’t so hereditary or genetic, as there have always been plentiful examples of humankind that are not monsters of primitive savagery. So one immediately looks at functional causation influencing the thinking mind - pretty much the study of the social sciences - sociology, psychology and psychiatry. We’ve known for a very long time that exposure to wealth, and associated power and privilege, is addictive, and creates an obsession that mitigates against all norms, morals and even instinct. Greed, as we know it among the Wealthy is an Obsessive Sociopathic illness, rendering the victim soulless by normal definition. The mechanism that sustains and perpetuates the immorality of the Wealthy is the simple fact of reward. With money and power comes the ability to remove any consequences for bad behavior. And with enough money and power, and collusion among the Wealthy, society can be totally manipulated and controlled, to the benefit of the Wealthy. There is no real magic bullet or ‘revelation’ that will end this cycle of wealth and obsessive greed. Breaking it by limiting individual or group wealth, and power, is the only final solution to humanity’s susceptibility to great wealth and it’s addictive qualities. Treating the Plutocracy as a dangerously ill cult of sociopaths would be a realistic approach to solving this problem. But that stands about the same chance we would expect as outright revolution... the Wealthy will fight to the death of every Working Class person before giving up their power and privileges. This is the history of mankind for the last 7 or 8000 years, and there’s no reason to expect a change under modern circumstances. It’s not that we don’t know. Without effective leadership, the cure is beyond the imagination and will of the ordinary person, not driven by obsessive greed and it’s sociopathology.

WTM Admin

While it takes some time to digest, we suggest what is presented here answers the fundamental question of why humans are greedy; why the wealthy want to control the poor; why people are hungry for power over others; why that is addictive. What is absolutely unique and groundbreaking about Jeremy Griffith’s work is that he has answered the essential question behind all the examples you list of why, when the universal ideals are to be integrative are we so disintegrative? Our endeavours in philosophy, psychology and biology have failed, until now, to provide a truthful, real, fully accountable, genuinely clarifying explanation. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents here. We suggest FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this original or new?’ and Video/Freedom Essay 4 which expands further on other thinkers (both ancient and contemporary) who have recognised instinct and intellect elements involved in creating the human condition.     You may also find our FAQ 1.40 helpful titled ‘Aren’t the problems of the world too overwhelming to ever be fixed? / Isn’t it too late to save the world? / How can you hope to transform the world? – In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful?’. It is explained there that even those who are most committed to seeking validation through gaining power and wealth, including those entrenched in positions of power, will quickly realise how empty and obsolete that strategy is now that we have the fully accountable, psychosis-addressing-and-solving, biological explanation of the human condition that establishes our worth at the most fundamental level.
