Yes, humanistic psychology does focus on the belief that all people are inherently good, but as you say couldn’t prove it. That is the great breakthrough Jeremy Griffith’s treatise represents. Astonishingly, with the core mystery and problem about human behaviour of our so-called ‘good and evil’-stricken human condition understood we can immediately be free of our upset state! What this means is that even though the world is approaching terminal alienation and terrible damage has been done to the environment, the selfless love and energy that this redeeming, reconciling and rehabilitating explanation will generate will spread like wildfire and solve our problems very quickly. As Jeremy Griffith explains in THE Interview, and also in his book FREEDOM chapter 9:9 titled ‘How the Transformed Lifeforce Way of Living will quickly repair the world’, instead of being preoccupied with power, fame, fortune etc, all our energies will be freed to truly work together and focus on doing whatever it takes to end the suffering in all the corners of the world. Selfishness was the problem, but selflessness is the key to fixing everything quickly. I believe there are many more people that are aware of the contents of this book without having read it. All is contained in collective conscience and if we use communal mind empathy will win through. We have been lied to and been forced to think this through. Most significantly, in the first edition of The Origin of Species Charles Darwin left it undecided as to whether those individuals that reproduced more could be viewed as winners, as being ‘fitter’. Thank you for your comment Angela. Yes the only way back to ‘Eden’ is to understand and fully appreciate why we left it! Understanding why the intellect had to search for knowledge and defy our innocent instinctive self means all our insecure, defensive behaviours are obsoleted, brought to an end, and we free ourselves from the human condition!

The question of the human condition is WHY do we no longer love one another—why when the universal ideals are to be loving and selfless are we so competitive and selfish? It is this crux question that Jeremy Griffith answers and in doing so explains the paramount importance nurturing has played in human development. What is astonishing is now the human condition is solved we can understand it has been humanity’s necessary preoccupation with finding knowledge that has compromised our ability to nurture and now that preoccupation ends nurturing will again become humanity’s central focus. You have articulated a common reaction which is very understandable Jacob. Finally being able to explain the human condition, understand the source of the 2 million years of psychological upset in the human race, does present a massive paradigm shift in our thinking which takes time to absorb. The best next step is to explore our homepage HumanCondition.com. You’ll see there, following this interview, a series of videos that elaborate on what’s been presented in THE Interview—so there’ll be some repetition, but going over the concepts in more detail does help with the understanding and absorption of them. Also, the first video warns us of our historic fear of the subject of the human condition and the resulting ‘deaf effect’ that often initially causes (see FAQ 1.16). So it can take a little patience ‘to get your head around it’ but it’s well worth it as you can see from the daily ecstatic responses on our homepage—people everywhere are so relieved to finally be able to make sense of human life!!

As THE Interview explains all humans are born innocent with loving moral instincts but ‘psychotic man’ is caused by the psychological upset that resulted from a clash between our emerging conscious mind and those pre-established instincts. Thank you for your comment and yes it will be so incredible for children to have access to this knowledge and learn about the heroic human journey and where all subjects will be associated under the broader subject of what it means to be human. Actually Jeremy Griffith has written an entertaining but meaningful little book for children, titled A Perfect Life! which is presented in Freedom Essay 52. And of course the Adam Stork story presented in THE Interview, and which is also beautifully presented with illustrations and animation in Video/Freedom Essay 3, is a very simple analogy and easy to grasp for everyone including children. Also FAQ 1.27 explains why the WTM doesn’t focus on trying to reach children and adolescents and also why the breakout of truth about the human condition has to begin with adults.
