Beautiful ❤️ Thank you .. strangely I’ve had many of the same thoughts ... I have a degree in Psychobiology from UCLA

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Thank you for your feedback Martin, we greatly appreciate your interest. In THE Interview it is discussed that elements of the human condition have been recognised by many thinkers throughout history but ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy Griffith presents in THE Interview and his book FREEDOM. You might like to read/watch our FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this idea original or new?' and Video/Freedom Essay 4, on other thinkers who have recognised the instinct and intellect elements involved in creating the human condition.

Now what

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Hi Jeannette, solving the human condition, as biologist Jeremy Griffith has done, solves all the confusion, frustration and suffering in human life at its source. We can now understand that our behaviour has been driven by a deep insecurity about our fundamental goodness, so now that our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living. ‘Legitimately’ because we have the first principle science which liberates us to be honest about our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it (FAQ 6.5 clarifies this is not another new age-type false start to a new world that can’t and doesn’t last). This is the rapidly transforming effect of being able to understand the human condition, however because it presents a huge paradigm shift in our thinking it does take a little time to fully grasp. Our FAQs 1.4 to 1.6 are helpful as they talk about the far-reaching practical applications of this understanding and for the most detailed explanation of the transformation that is now possible we recommend Jeremy’s two seminal presentations on the topic: The Great Transformation and Sermon On The Beach. This couldn’t be a bigger breakthrough as in a world fast going crazy from the effects of the human condition, this is the now desperately needed reconciling understanding that brings about a new world for humans FREE of the agony of the human condition. This is the understanding that ends human suffering at its source, and unites the human race, see our FAQ 1.6 ‘Why does understanding the human condition solve everything?’.

Please dont come up with religious bs... I want to buy that book..I am very skeptic!

FIX THE WORLD Admin

This understanding and the FIX THE WORLD organisation which supports it, is the antithesis of a religious system. Biologist Jeremy Griffith presents an accountable scientific, first principle-based, rational, testable understanding of the human condition. The extraordinary claims about Jeremy’s work — such as that it solves the human condition and can fix the world — naturally invite initial scepticism. Yet they stand up to scrutiny as what he presents is 100% logic. This is discussed in our FAQ 1.9. In our experience people come to appreciate the truth of these claims and their forthright honesty in indicating where the solution to our problems lies — as the ecstatic responses that flow in each week to THE Interview, and the commendations Jeremy’s work has received from eminent scientists and thinkers attest. People can explore all these here on our website. With regard to religion, in THE Interview Jeremy discusses that while religions contain all manner of truths about human life, it is all from a pre-scientific view, and now with this explanation we can at last reconcile science and religion by bringing biological understanding to these pre-scientific concepts.

Also you can freely access all Jeremy’s books here on our website. As well you can download free Kindle versions from Amazon. If you are particularly after a hardcopy of Jeremy’s books they are available to purchase from Amazon and other good bookstores.

Thanks for your explanations.

Penny La Vasseur

How do we make everyone hear, listen and then practice these truths. We are responsible for murdering planet earth and we have to take personal responsibility for this.We should not be given the chance to go to another planet until we clean up the one we were gifted with. HOPEFULLY IT’S NOT TOO LATE

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Thank you for your comment Penny. In Part 4 of THE Interview ‘How does the psychological rehabilitation of the human race actually occur?’ biologist Jeremy Griffith explains it will take a number of generations for the upset within us to be completely healed but it also stresses importantly we can be immediately free of its effects. Certainly there is habituation to overcome and humans do find change difficult but now that our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living. ‘Legitimately’ because we have the first principle science which liberates us to be honest about our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it. So instead of being focused on power, fame, fortune and glory, all our energies will be freed to truly work together on doing whatever it takes to end the suffering and fix the world. Also our FAQ 1.40 answers the questions ‘Aren’t the problems of the world too overwhelming to ever be fixed? / Isn’t it too late to save the world? / How can you hope to transform the world?’. We also suggest Video/Freedom Essay 5 as it is all about the transformation this explanatory power liberates in humans: “Really, the transformation of the world is already a fait accompli, a certainty—sure, it will take a little time to get started, but what will win the day is logic. Humans are thinking, rational beings so when all the logic points in one direction then there is really no choice but for every single human to take that path, and eventually they will. It will be slow for a start because humans hate and resist change, but nonetheless change does happen when an idea’s time has come… And with all the crises and suffering and mental agony in the world now, this idea’s time has most certainly come! So, as more and more people catch on to this logical, rational, fully accountable explanation of the human condition, the transformation will begin to sweep the world. When the word gets out about this awesome breakthrough there’s going to be an absolute stampede—it’s going to be on for young and old!”. And this is happening! Just read the ecstatic responses THE Interview is receiving on our FIX THE WORLD homepage and scroll down to see the rapidly growing appreciation and support for this critical new science with outstanding commendations from thought leaders and FIX THE WORLD Centres all over the world!     What is so important about this critical new science is that it finally explains the real reason for why humans’ selfish and destructive behaviour became an unavoidable, indeed necessary, part of human life. This understanding defends our so-called ‘dark side’; and by explaining the very good reason why our intellect had to defy our instincts, it makes redundant our defensive behaviours of anger, egocentricity and alienation, allowing us to return to our natural loving state. Importantly, as our FAQ 1.38 ‘Aren’t some people just born psychopathic, or even ‘evil’? / How does this explanation rehabilitate people capable of ‘evil’ behaviour? / Does this condone ‘evil’ behaviour?’ stresses, this understanding of why we became upset as a species does not condone or sanction the horrific violence and injustices humans can commit, rather, through bringing understanding to humans’ upset behaviour, it gives us the power to ameliorate and thus subside and ultimately eliminate it. This removes the burden of guilt from humanity so it couldn’t be a bigger breakthrough or revelation!

Jeremy Griffith came as a sigh of relief to me amid all these nonsense that have saturated virtual public space . It seemed to me that there was no hope of finding any GREAT TEACHING like this . I strongly recommend all my students not only watch these videos BUT CAREFULLY LISTEN TO THIS PROFESSOR before it is too late .

Skipper

I’m no scientist, I will say I’m excited hearing about the cure to the human condition is what I call it. Hopefully this breakthrough in reality spreads to the world to understand. I’m afraid that this generation is hooked deep in the denial drug. Getting some to understand seams light years away. Thank you for airing this information we can pay it forward spread love and kindness. Truth and honest sensible explanation truly can not be denied.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Hi Skipper, this breakthrough explanation or “cure to the human condition” as you rightly say is certainly something to get excited about so it is wonderful to have your interest! Yes without the cure denial of the human condition has understandably become almost universal now which Jeremy explains at the end of Part 2 of THE Interview where he includes a graph recognising the ever-increasing level of upset in the world has virtually doubled in recent times. He says: “While we’ve had to live in denial of our corrupted, psychologically upset condition while we couldn’t explain it, the truth is that on a graph showing the ever-increasing levels of upset in humans, those levels, especially of psychosis and alienation, have been increasing so rapidly lately that the line tracking their rise is near vertical with the amount of upset virtually doubling now in each new generation!”. But take heart Skipper because yes “truth and honest sensible explanation truly can not be denied” as is confirmed from the thousands of impressive commendations on our website from thought leaders and members of the public, and the over 80 FIX THE WORLD Centres that have opened across the globe, the relief and excitement of finally being able to make sense of human life is turning into a tidal wave of world-saving support!! As Part 4 of THE Interview and FAQ 1.40 explain, while the world is fast approaching a point of no return, this understanding will turn things around incredibly quickly, because it explains and solves the underlying cause of all our selfishness, anger and egocentricity. We also recommend reading Freedom Essay 15: ‘How understanding the human condition can immediately transform your and every other human’s life and save the world’.     We encourage you to pursue your interest Skipper, just go to top of our FIX THE WORLD homepage at HumanCondition.com, it states ‘WHAT NEXT after watching THE Interview?’ and guides you through the ways to do that. It’s very important and interesting

Ronny

Wonderful interview that really transforms generations, l’m happy that your teachings have enabled me and some other readers to be in a position to fix the world.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Yes Ronny solving the human condition really does transform our lives and provides the understanding and inspiration to fix the world! Explanation of the human condition solves all the confusion, frustration and suffering in human life at its source. We can now understand that our behaviour has been driven by a deep insecurity about our fundamental goodness, so now that our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living. ‘Legitimately’ because at last we have the first principle-based science which liberates us to be honest about our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it. This is the rapidly transforming effect of being able to understand the human condition, see our FAQs 1.4 to 1.6 about the far-reaching practical applications of this understanding. Also for the most detailed explanation of the transformation that is now possible we recommend Jeremy’s two seminal presentations on the topic: The Great Transformation and Sermon On The Beach.

Karen Majorowski

So inspired that I discovered this man’s work. Have been promoting the evolution of consciousness, ie according to the Maya for past 20 years and it truly aligns with what was revealed in this amazing interview. My heart overflows with appreciation. Maybe not in my life time but when science understands this powerful message the human condition can and will change. Trusting we won’t destroy each other before that can come about.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

We can be optimistic Karen. While this necessarily has a slow start, humanity’s uptake of the explanation of the human condition has a fast finish as the selflessness it liberates in people will not only quickly solve all the problems on the planet, including teaching other people about this redeeming information, but the excitement and joy it brings means everyone will want to get on board as quickly as they can (see FAQ 1.5)! As Jeremy Griffith explains in his book FREEDOM chapter 9:9: “Although this new world for humans, which the World Transformation Movement has been established to facilitate, will, as has been stated, have a slow beginning because humans initially find it difficult even taking in or ‘hearing’ discussion about the human condition, once the WTM is discovered, word of it and what it offers every human and the world will spread like wildfire.’”

Jack Cameron

Don’t care much about all this stuff .............

Jay F Fisher

I listened to Mr Jeremy Griffith’s interview, as being conducted by Craig Conway, twice and found it fascinating. Not only do l want to learn more, moving to Australia or New Zealand for me would be a logical next step. I want to live in a more positive environment where such views are expressed.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Thank you for your appreciative comment Jay. While this necessarily has a slow start, humanity’s uptake of the explanation of the human condition has a fast finish as the selflessness it liberates in people will not only quickly solve all the problems on the planet but the excitement and joy it brings means everyone will want to get on board as quickly as they can (see FAQ 1.5)! And so the whole world is going to be talking about these understandings before long and the internet, will be put to a truly noble purpose, which is to allow this information to spread to everyone. But we are already well on our way as you can see from the excitement and relief in our daily ecstatic responses to THE Interview! On our homepage, you can see the rapidly growing appreciation and support for Jeremy Griffith’s work with outstanding commendations and reviews from thought leaders and over 80 WTM Centres around the world, with more opening all the time!

I never heard anything about jermy griffith or this very brilliant human condition until a few weeks ago and have consumed myself in all of this im 55 years of age and lived in my head for most of that but have always felt deep deep down that there was something more we humans was something more and this jermy griffith as got this ulitamte truth of our existence the WORLD wont fix any of our prodlems but we as humans can fix the WORLD by fixing our human condition and no thank you is enough to all of jermy griffith’s work

Steve

Please don’t tell me you actually haven’t heard of Carl young and his teacher Freud. I guess people in Australia are way behind America because we knew this 120 years ago plus some years duh.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

We recommend reading FAQ 1.47 “How does Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition differ from the theories of Freud or Jung?”, as it explains how Jeremy’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition varies with Jung’s and Freud’s work.     In his definitive presentation of this understanding, FREEDOM: The End Of The Human Condition, and other works, Jeremy acknowledges Freud’s courageous recognition that humans carry negative, repressed elements of our personality, a ‘repressed unconscious’. However, beyond that, there is very little similarity between Jeremy’s explanation of the human condition and Freud’s thinking. Freud believed that the ‘ID’, our unconscious, instinctive mind, contained primitive selfish ‘savage’ urges that the conscious mind or ‘ego’ has to control, whereas Jeremy has now explained that our instinctive self is completely loving and cooperative, and that our aggressive and selfish behaviour is psychological in origin, the result of a clash between our instincts and intellect. Freud also believed that our morals are learnt and held by the superego, whereas Jeremy has now explained that they are the expression of our loving, cooperative moral soul or instincts. By starting from the false basis that we have ‘savage instincts’ that the ego had to control and mediate meant that Freud was not able to explain the ultimate source of human’s psychological problems.     And likewise, we can now see that Jung’s great discovery of the shared-by-all ‘collective unconscious’ also failed to acknowledge what our ‘collective’, shared-by-all, instinctive ‘unconscious’ actually is, which again is our species’ instinctive memory of once living in a cooperative and loving state. Jung was also able to highlight a clash between instinctual drives and consciousness, but he did not explain the source of the clash (which is that our instincts were intolerant of our conscious mind’s experiments in self-management) or that the fundamental nature of our psychosis was our conscious mind’s repression of our loving and cooperative instincts.     So while Freud and Jung made great contributions to humanity’s journey toward self-understanding, what Jeremy Griffith has provided in THE Interview is the all-important clarifying, redeeming, reconciling and psychologically rehabilitating explanation for why the conflict between our instincts and our consciousness occurred. This this longed for explanation of the source of our upset, and the key to rehabilitating all the subsequent manifestations of the human condition. Which is why Professor Harry Prosen, a former President of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, said, ‘I have no doubt this biological explanation of the human condition is the holy grail of insight we have sought for the psychological rehabilitation of the human race.’

What is our problem

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Herman, the following is from our FAQ 1.1 ‘What is the human condition?’: "It is not uncommon for people to think that the term ‘human condition’ refers to the state of poverty and inequality and other practical hardships and imperfections in human life, but such problems are only superficial manifestations and aspects of the human condition. Much less superficial interpretations of what the term human condition means are that it refers to ‘the riddle of why we humans are competitive and selfish not cooperative and loving’, and ‘the issue of good and evil in our make-up’, and even, ‘the issue of why we are the way we are’. However, the human condition is actually a much, much deeper issue than even these last interpretations.     As I explained in THE Interview and in all my other presentations, we humans once lived in a nurtured-with-unconditional-love, cooperative, selfless and loving innocent state, which the bonobo species of ape is presently on the threshold of achieving (see FAQ 5.2 ‘How did we humans acquire our all-loving, unconditionally selfless moral conscience?’ for the explanation of how we humans acquired our moral instinctive self or soul). If we stand back and think about this original cooperative, selfless and loving state and then think about how competitive, selfish and aggressive we humans are now, the contrast between the two states couldn’t be greater. And if we think about that extreme contrast and then think about the situation we have been stuck in for some 2 million years, which is the approximate time we humans have been fully conscious and at war with our instincts (see FAQ 1.3), where we haven’t been able to explain our so-called ‘fall from grace’, the corruption of our original all-sensitive and all-loving, innocent instinctive self or soul, then how deeply traumatised with guilt and shame must we humans have been all that time! Certainly, we learnt to block the horror of this situation out of our mind, but that has been the underlying psychological predicament we humans have been enduring. So having had to live with this insufferable, unbearably depressing guilt and shame for having destroyed the magic world of our soul is what the human condition really is!—and what the instinct versus intellect explanation we now have of the human condition finally relievingly explains (again, see FAQ 1.3)."

Gerald Roelants

What parts of our behavior can be attributed to hormonal imbalances brought about from dietary intake, or socio economic conditions? Claiming it to arise or be controlled through conscious choice trivializes the process.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

We would suggest that rather than “trivializ[ing]” the process, what is presented is the fundamental, core, profound explanation of the source of our angry, egocentric and alienated condition. The following are highly respected psychiatrist Professor Prosen’s words about how powerful our psychology is in causing our behaviour. He wrote: “While we can expect instances of neurochemical/neurobiological based conditions, in my experience we can’t underestimate how much our psychology affects our biology. What Griffith is presenting is understanding of the source insecurity that the whole human race suffers from for having destroyed our species’ innocent soul. It is a universal self-blame that his understanding at last provides healing insight into. All human behavior is saturated with that universal insecure, depressing state and resulting anger, egocentricity and alienation that has developed from it, but we finally have the compassionate foundation insight needed to dismantle all that ‘upset’/ psychosis. So the real psychotherapy of our collective and individual psychoses can begin” (see FAQ 1.34 ‘How does this help with an individual’s depression and psychosis?’).

Excellent interview. It kinds remind me about the book I have read and study: “If Nietzsche were a Narwhal” where the author Justin Gregg explains that our complex Human Intelligence and consciousness May be a burden than a blessing, because unlike animals, humans have the capacity to experience a fear of death (or death anxiety), the ability to to justify and rationalise war, violence and genocide. Nietzsche both wished he was as stupid as a cow so he wouldn’t have to contemplate existence, and pitied cows for being so stupid that they couldn’t contemplate existence. Nietzsche spent his life challenging the Nature of truth and morality, famously declaring God to be dead, and grappling with the problem of meaninglessness and nihilism. But his body of work came at a terrible Price. In his personal life, he was a hot mess, the quintessential example of how too much profundity Can literally break your brain. Justin Gregg calls humans the Why Specialists. Whereas other animals learn by association, humans Can additionally learn through inference. For him, this demarcates a boundary. That our understanding of cause and effect is the source from which everything Else springs, which is the skill at the root of all our achievements. But animals can make fantastically useful decisions without the need for asking why things happen. Causal reasoning has sent us Down some Dark and dangerous paths in the past, from the humoral theory in medicine to Scientific racism. However, our morality does not prevent us from justifying to ourselves atrocities such as homophobia, racism, and even genocide. So what good are morals? He considers them another byproduct of e.g. language, theory of mind, and our why specialism. Unfortunately you can’t unlink these things. You cannot have that laundry list of positive cognitive skills without the negative consequences.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Various of thinkers have tried to explain why humans are so psychologically troubled, and Justin Gregg is one of the more recent to attempt it. But his account ultimately misidentifies the cause. He correctly sees that human self-awareness brings anxiety — but he stops there, and doesn’t attempt to plumb the real depths of the guilt and shame that characterise the human condition.     In If Nietzsche Were a Narwhal, Gregg argues that unlike other animals, we humans are able to reflect on our lives, anticipate the future, and recognise our mortality—and this creates anxiety, dissatisfaction and existential unease. In his view, animals are better off because they lack this reflective intelligence; they simply live, whereas humans are trapped in a mind that can’t stop questioning, worrying and seeking meaning.     Jeremy Griffith’s breakthrough is to show that while instincts can only orient behaviour, the conscious intellect has to understand and experiment. In doing so, it came into conflict with those instincts, producing the insecurity and defensiveness that underlies all human dysfunction. That is the true biological explanation of the human condition.     And with our goodness biologically established, we no longer need to be preoccupied with proving our worth. Solving the human condition solves all the confusion, frustration and suffering in human life at its source so we can actually stop the angry destruction of ourselves, each other and the planet and save the world.     This explanation also reframes the issue of the fear of death. As Griffith explains, fear of death is not the cause of our psychological distress, but a consequence of it. When humans lived in a state of instinctive harmony—secure, unalienated and fully engaged with life — death was not a source of anxiety. It only became a problem once we became psychologically upset and self-focused. In that sense, fear of death follows the emergence of the human condition; it doesn’t explain it. And if the underlying condition is resolved, the fear associated with it diminishes as well.

Eliane Joly

Extremely interesting

linda wheatman

We’re decendants of chimpanzees. Thats all you need to know.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Hi Linda, Jeremy Griffith explains the key biological distinction between humans and other animal species is that humans suffer from the conscious-mind-based, psychologically troubled human condition, not the genetic-opportunism-based, animal condition. And so the source of our selfish aggressive behaviour is not ‘savage’ animal instincts such as the common chimpanzees display. Jeremy discusses in Part 2 of THE Interview, and in more detail in his definitive book FREEDOM (chapter 5), that the cooperative and gentle bonobo chimpanzee represent a far better model of our human ancestors than the common chimpanzee. Both share approximately 99% of their DNA with humans, however bonobo physiology, bipedality, environment, intelligence and reduced canine size, better match our human ancestors. Reduced canine size is particularly relevant as it is arguably the outstanding features of the hominin clade, and universally accepted as an indication of reduced aggression. Fossil evidence of our cooperative past, including reduced canines, has lead the prominent anthropologist C. Owen Lovejoy to write that “our species-defining cooperative mutualism can now be seen to extend well beyond the deepest Pliocene [well beyond 5.3 mya]”. No, our selfishness and aggression is not instinctive in origin; all the evidence shows that our instinctive heritage is cooperate.     Also in Part 3 of THE Interview Jeremy explains how the selfish process of natural selection was able to create loving selflessness in our forebears through nurturing or, as Jeremy termed it ‘love-indoctrination’ (also see FAQ 5.6 ‘How did selflessness become instinctive’). We evolved from the common ancestor of apes, as did all the other existing apes, however our human ancestor occupied ideal nurturing conditions which allowed the nurturing based love-indoctrination process to occur. We can see the same process occurring with bonobos, who diverged from common chimpanzees some 2 million years ago (see FAQ 5.2 ‘What do the nurtured and cooperative bonobos tell us about our own evolutionary heritage?’).

Brenda West

FIX THE WORLD Something Positive! Rehabiltation of the Human Condition! Some say people today, have savage instincts; a selfish, competitive, animal nature, and some are TOO aggressive and controlling. This Can be Cured with Understanding and Healing by Working towards a more Emotional Consciousness. People can be cured by working towards Psychological Re-habilitation by gaining back our Moral instincts towards a more Co-operative, Collaborative, Loving, Gentle, and Empathetic World.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Yes Brenda we can cure our human condition through understanding our biology and that we have moral, cooperative and loving instincts! Significantly Jeremy Griffith explains in this interview that our selfish and competitive behaviour is not driven by us having ‘savage’ instincts as it is in the animal kingdom but rather it is the result of our upset psychology. In Part 3 especially Jeremy evidences this key biological distinction that humans suffer from the conscious-mind-based, psychologically troubled human condition, not the genetic-opportunism-based, animal condition. And, most importantly, as Part 4 explains a psychosis can be healed with understanding, so our psychologically upset human nature is fixable or changeable—not unchangeable, which is what it would essentially be if our competitive and aggressive nature was instinctive; if it was something that is in our genes and we were born with. As you are seeing this is such a significant breakthrough as we finally have the means to psychological rehabilitate and FIX THE WORLD! You might like to watch or read Jeremy’s Video/Freedom Essay 2 and Video/Freedom Essay 14 which further explain this critical biological distinction.

THE Interview explains all humans are born with loving moral instincts but we all now variously suffer from a psychosis due to the human condition and, in the extreme, that psychologically conflicted upset state produces psychopathic behaviour. Importantly, this breakthrough explanation doesn’t condone or sanction the horrendous atrocities humans can commit (what historically has been termed ‘evil’) rather, through bringing compassionate understanding to the source of humans’ upset behaviour, it gives us the power to ameliorate and thus subside and ultimately eliminate it. We suggest FAQ 1.38 ‘Aren’t some people just born psychopathic, or even ‘evil’? / How does this explanation rehabilitate people capable of ‘evil’ behaviour? / Does this condone ‘evil’ behaviour?’ and FAQ 1.40 ‘How can you hope to transform the world? / Won’t the greedy and power hungry simply ignore this?’, which explains that even those who are most committed to seeking validation through gaining power and wealth, including those entrenched in positions of power, will quickly realise how empty and obsolete that strategy is now that we have the fully accountable, psychosis-addressing-and-solving, biological explanation of the human condition that establishes our worth at the most fundamental level.     With regard to politics, in his book FREEDOM, Jeremy explains the twin political problems we have are the brutality of the right-wing’s need to continue the corrupting search for knowledge free from too much condemning idealism, and the left-wing’s dishonest and deluded dogmatic imposition of pseudo-idealistic politically correct values. However, as THE Interview explains, freedom of thought and individualism, sustained by the incentives of materialism and capitalism which right-wing constitutions uphold, are what maintained humanity’s heroic search for knowledge, ultimately for self-knowledge. And so paradoxically it was the right-wing that actually held the moral high ground and the left-wing that posed the real threat to humanity due to the fact that its dogmatically imposed pseudo-idealism gravely endangers freedom of thought and the search for understanding. Now the core mystery and problem about human behaviour of our so-called ‘good and evil’-stricken human condition has at last been solved we can understand the real merits and liabilities of both the left and right wings of politics and bring the whole necessary but ugly business of politics to an end (see our FAQs about politics).

Helo guys. Is an immense privilage for me being able to share time and space with this breakthrough Many other before us did not have the chance so i think we are very fortunate to be provided with such valuable information. On a personal level i have had some undesirable experiences that would be extremly difficult to deal with if not so Jeremy Griffith’s explanation which is is just a different view about the same thing so Ever so greatful to this man..i really am.

sylvia

When I feel a sense of ‘spiritual awareness’ I have a deep need to believe people are fundamentally good. This need ,to believe that humans are ‘good’ has kept me going in life. To not believe in mankind’s goodness or capacity for goodness would, in me and others perhaps, cause a deep depression and unwillingness to carry on in difficult moments. To point out, as you have done, that man is good, gives all mankind hope and ability to change his habits, thoughts, and thus change the world.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Thank you for your thoughtful words Sylvia – it’s wonderful Jeremy’s work is resonating so deeply with you. Yes, despite our selfish and destructive behaviour, we have always intuitively believed we were fundamentally good, but we have never been able to explain this contradictory, conflicted condition. That is the great breakthrough presented here. Using first principle-based biology, Jeremy explains why the intellect had to defy our cooperative ‘good’ instincts and become psychologically upset, or (apparently) ‘bad’. And it was only by bringing compassionate understanding to our dark side that we could free ourselves from the human condition and bring lasting change to ourselves and the world. As you have brilliantly recognised, now that our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living. There couldn’t be a bigger breakthrough!

Susannah

Thank you for sharing your message very interesting indeed Kind regards from Holland Park West Queensland Australia 🦘

Lyn

I have listened to some of the Human Condition story. However some of us have wondered for most of our lives how we manage to allow the most destructive human beings to get into power. It’s great to have an understanding of why. But to change how we allow destructive people to roam freely causing death and destruction when most of us would like to lead quite natural lives raising children and growing old is the real question that has not been answered!

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Thanks Lyn. / Won’t the greedy and power hungry simply ignore this?’ To read about the psychology behind the creation of psychopathic, ‘power-addicted’ and narcissistic behaviour, see chapter 8:16D of Jeremy’s definitive book FREEDOM.

How do I get amongst it

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Brittany, we have over 80 FIX THE WORLD Centres around the world. These Centres are mostly based online at this pioneering stage of our project’s development, rather than physical locations. Our Facebook Group, however, has no physical boundaries and is proving to be a very effective platform — to maximise interaction amongst our global supporters; for everyone to benefit from each other’s questions and responses, and from our guidance; and most importantly, it’s a vehicle for people to contribute to the growing momentum and building of a critical mass of support for FIX THE WORLD. We also wanted to mention that the FIX THE WORLD Community page on our website is a handy resource and guide for how to get involved and support these world-saving understandings. And of course, there is our How To Help page, which has a ton of wonderful initiatives everyone can take!

This has some useful insights - have listened 60% through a few times ; found it a little convoluted - but I think I have the basics from it

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Great care has been taken to present the explanation as quickly and simply as possible (which is done in Part 1), however THE Interview also explains the very nature of the human condition means discussion of it can be initially difficult to access. This is because historically the issue of whether we are fundamentally good or bad has been the most terrifying of all subjects to face, and so we have necessarily lived in almost total denial of it, which means our minds can initially struggle to hear and absorb discussion about it. Wonderfully however, this ‘deaf effect’ can be overcome with patient perseverance, which you are doing John, and everyone can access this most wonderful of all gifts of understanding the human condition! See our FAQ 1.16 which includes the question ‘please send me an executive summary so I have some idea of what you’re trying to say?’.

I enjoyed your intellectual analysis however it doesn’t align with my beliefs. I’m a Christian & follow God’s teachings. Thank you. God bless.🙏♥️

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Jeremy Griffith’s work doesn’t ignore, exclude or contradict a belief in God, or Christianity. It simply brings biological understanding to all those pre-scientific concepts. In fact, Jeremy considers the Bible to be a repository of extremely rare denial-free truth, containing all the truth about human life albeit from a pre-science view. Although this is science, it is based on a ‘Godly’ nature in the sense of recognising, like all the great religions do, that we humans once lived in a pre-human-condition-afflicted state of original innocence where we were perfectly instinctively orientated to the cooperative, selfless, loving, ‘Godly’ ideals of life; ‘God’ being explained as being the personification of integrative meaning of life; see Freedom Essay 23. We also think you might find our FAQs about religion of interest, especially FAQ 6.3 ‘Does this understanding undermine religion’.

Edith Matare

The only resistance we might come across are the the rich and ritualists otherwise to convince them will take time to convince them🙏🙏

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Certainly there is habituation to overcome and humans do find change difficult but at last we can understand our behaviour has been driven by a deep insecurity about our fundamental goodness or worth and so now that our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living. ‘Legitimately’ because we have the first principle science which liberates us to be honest about our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it. So instead of being focused on power, fame, fortune and glory, all our energies will be freed to truly work together on doing whatever it takes to end the suffering and save our world. How this healing is immediately open to us all is summarised in FAQ 1.5 ‘Why is understanding the human condition important to my life?’ and FAQ 1.40 addresses the questions of ‘How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’.

Edith Matare

I have been interested in the information which has opened up my mind and understanding on this research . I do think there will be an understanding and appreciation soon or later on your in this information globally and might change the human health lifestyle 👍👍🙏🙏💃💃

Linda Ayres

Most important ideas since I read Denial of Death

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Thank you very much for your comment, Linda. For those that aren’t aware, Denial of Death is a book by Ernest Becker which basically says that the human condition, our selfish, egocentric state, is a result of our fear of death. However, what we can now understand is that our fear of death is a consequence of human condition, not its cause. As Jeremy explains in Part 5.2 of Freedom Expanded Book 1, however, “When we were innocent we were so in tune with everything around us and so happy inside and so alive that death was not an issue. Death is only an issue when we live a wretched life, where we become so selfish that it matters if we die or not. Fear of death is a product of selfishness, which in turn is a product of alienation, which in turn is the loss of the generosity and meaning we once had before we became upset.” Yes, fear of death followed the advent of the human condition, it did not cause it, and when we humans are no longer tortured by the human condition, it will go.

I find this topic very fascinating. I always thought there was more to why we are who we are

The ‘Human Condition’ is a term discussed frequently by the Tibetan Buddhist teachers.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

While Buddhism and other religions contain all manner of truths about human life, it is all from a pre-scientific view. Ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents in THE Interview and his book FREEDOM.

Bwengye David Davis

A new transformation.

Ray

My wife has long referred to humanity as “A FLAWED SPECIES” This project and book may finally explain it!

FIX THE WORLD Admin

It certainly does. And what is so significant about Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition is that it defends our so-called ‘dark side’ and explains that despite all appearances to the contrary, all humans are ‘good'!

Sylvan Mfam

Very good understanding of the biblical and psychoanalytical foundations for understanding the choatic human conditions and how the knowledge of the human biology can significantly help in transforming conditions to restore acceptable human love and harmony. I will like to follow up on this exciting nature / nurturing analytical discourse as it contributes to explain decaying human moral conditions and how to transform the moral compass to a harmonious living of self and society.

Tony

Isn’t this a rehash of Freud’s Ego vs Superego?

FIX THE WORLD Admin

There is a fundamental difference between Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition and Freud’s theory of the Id, Ego and Superego. While Jeremy acknowledges Freud’s courageous recognition that humans carry negative, repressed elements of our personality, a ‘repressed unconscious’, beyond that, there is very little similarity. We recommend our FAQ 1.47 ‘How does Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition differ from the theories of Freud or Jung?’

I am so impressed. I wish everyone could listen to the interview

Blair

How to get 8 billion pre-frontal cortices to grasp just how much aggregate pain and suffering experienced by human beings would instantly vanish if no human ever intentionally harmed another human in any way for any reason. A unique type of fear that all humans labor under (that a fellow human might harm me) would be lifted. The life energy used to grapple with that fear would be freed up to more effectively and collectively deal with non-human challenges like disease, natural disasters, accidents . . . . I agree with the diagnosis of a species wide psychosis (I think of it as the “Great Sickness.”) However, because it takes so few harmers to disrupt entire populations, I am less than sanguine that such a non-harming utopia will come about without thousands more generations of psychological evolution. Thank you for discussing this. Gotta start somewhere. BTW, the World doesn’t need fixing, we do.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Thanks for your thoughts Blair. Yes, we agree, the only way to fix the world is to fix us humans. As Jeremy Griffith says, “To fix all the runaway problems we are surrounded by–in fact, to stop the destruction of our world and the disintegration of society that is happening everywhere we look–we have to fix the cause of the problems, which is us humans. We are the problem–our out-of-control egocentric, selfish, competitive and aggressive behaviour.”     You argue that there will always be “harmers to disrupt entire populations”, however, we suggest that the more you digest Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation, the more you will realise how accountable it is in getting to the source of all humanity’s psychological upset, which in the extreme, produces people who are capable of what we have described as ‘evil’. Of course this breakthrough explanation doesn’t condone or sanction the horrendous atrocities humans can commit rather, through bringing compassionate understanding to the source of humans’ upset behaviour, it gives us the power to ameliorate and thus subside and ultimately eliminate it, see FAQ 1.38 ‘Aren’t some people just born psychopathic, or even ‘evil’? / How does this explanation rehabilitate people capable of ‘evil’ behaviour? / Does this condone ‘evil’ behaviour?’. As the late Professor Harry Prosen, psychiatrist and former president of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, said: ‘I have no doubt Jeremy Griffith’s biological explanation of the human condition is the holy grail of insight we have sought for the psychological rehabilitation of the human race.’
