I have forwarded this interview to all my friends & family because of it’s importance many of whom have struggled to understand the purpose of our existence. This is explained very clearly by Jeremy Griffith & well worth the listen. Thank you for sharing & bringing this thinking to our attention!

Altruism, as an emergent phenomenon exist, not only in humans, but then several other and diverse lines of mammals. The psychological framework of more advanced animals has to manage, conflicting needs and desires; which includes passion, reproduction, fear, hunger, kin selection, etc. I wasn’t aware of any evolutionary biologist believed that there was a psychological conflict as humans needed to suppress some of these needs and desires for the good of the community. Other species, wolves, elephants, whales, and the great apes cooperate regularly in ways in which individuals make sacrifices for the group . There are numerous accounts of animals, taking in orphans and in some cases or orphans of a different species. So it’s clear that mammals, at least, have been regulating their more selfish and destructive instincts pretty far down the evolutionary tree.
This is all been well understood since at least 70s
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thank you for your comment Liam. Certainly, many animals display levels of social cooperation and apparent altruism, including wolves, elephants, whales and other primates. Jeremy does not deny that. The distinction he makes in THE Interview, however, is between those forms of cooperation and the genuinely unconditional selflessness that he argues developed in our human forebears.
As Jeremy explains, cooperation in other animals is normally limited by the genetically selfish strategies of kin selection and reciprocity — helping relatives who share your genes, or helping others where there is ultimately some reciprocal benefit. In that sense, such cooperation can be highly sophisticated while still operating within the normal genetic imperative to reproduce one’s own genes. What Jeremy’s ‘love-indoctrination’ explanation addresses is how humans were able to overcome that normal genetic limitation and develop genuinely selfless, all-loving moral instincts. Bonobos are particularly important in THE Interview because they show that nurturing-based process developing to a lesser degree.
The human condition is not simply a matter of highly intelligent animals having to regulate competing drives such as hunger, fear, reproduction or aggression for the good of the group. Jeremy has explained that a unique psychological conflict arose when our emerging conscious mind began experimenting in self-management in the presence of already-established loving, cooperative instincts. The resulting criticism from those instincts produced the guilt and insecurity that led to our angry, egocentric and alienated condition.
So while animal cooperation and altruism have certainly been studied for many decades, what Jeremy is presenting is a very different explanation: how humans acquired genuinely selfless moral instincts, and then why our conscious intellect came into conflict with those instincts to produce the human condition.
Part 3 of THE Interview, FAQ 5.2 and Freedom Essay 21 explain in more detail how those loving, selfless instincts were able to develop in the first place.

It’s really interesting to know
Gilles
IT’s what the mind of the world needs but yet we the human race will have to wait the evolution pace we are facing, and hopefully not million years,i can understand it and live my life knowing I’m good but so much evil and bad things are happening in this world how can this change happen without being stopped by the evil and cruelty of the world !There is a natural sélection in all living things and my hope is that it happen sooner than later and that this selection evolve thowards love and love alone !
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thank you for your comment Gilles. What is so wonderfully exciting is that we don’t actually have to wait for biological evolution or natural selection to slowly produce a more loving humanity. Our original instincts are already loving and cooperative (see Freedom Essay 21); what has caused our destructive behaviour is the psychologically upset state produced by the human condition. And because that upset is psychological, it can be healed through understanding.
As Jeremy explains, this is not a revolution imposed on people, but a peaceful “revolution of the mind” through the power of logic, knowledge and understanding. We humans are conscious, rational beings, and ultimately we respond to knowledge. Once the human condition is understood, the old angry, egocentric and alienated way of living becomes obsolete, and the transformed, cooperative way of living becomes the logical and immensely relieving response.
And regarding your very understandable concern about the cruelty, greed and power in the world stopping this change, FAQ 1.40 specifically addresses that question: “How are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?” It explains that even those most committed to gaining validation through power and material wealth will eventually recognise how empty and obsolete that strategy is once their fundamental worth is securely established by understanding of the human condition.
So while there is certainly resistance and habituation to overcome, the reality is that we are not waiting for evolution to make us loving — understanding now allows us to return to the loving, cooperative state that is already our deepest instinctive heritage.

The story of the bonobo familial unity is indeed compelling. Please discuss: As a wildlife community, what natural predators do they face and how are these threats to survival are dealt with by the bonobo?
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Yes, bonobos provide a fascinating insight into our own distant ancestors, and evidence the nurturing based love-indoctrination process. As Jeremy Griffith explains, this process requires ‘ideal nursery conditions’. In chapter 5:4 of his definitive book FREEDOM he explains: “The successful nurturing of infants therefore required ample food, comfortable conditions and security from external threats over an extended period.” So what we find with bonobos, is that on their side of the Congo river they do not have many predators. There are snakes and leopards to some extent, but they are not a great threat, and the love-indoctrination process was not imperilled. It is clear, and the evidence is included in chapter 5 of FREEDOM, that our distant ape ancestors developed in a similar environment. Importantly, the further a species advances along the love-indoctrination process, the more selfless it becomes, and so threats would be dealt with selflessly i.e. members of the group would protect the group by putting the groups welfare above that of themselves.

Good morning listened to how to stay young at heart and mentally awake..I never thought about why I have so long at age 90
Reflected over my life and appreciated all of the wonderful moments and gifts I received. Best of all, the ones in my life who opened doors to new adventures for which I am eternally grateful...so many friends have passed away but memories never die.never forget to say thank you to the infinite power whenever a new blessing comes my way. My credo is always be kind and never forget to say thank you for blessings that come my way. It’s intrinsic but ever present. "Love yourself it all starts there.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Yes, it all starts with loving yourself, and what Jeremy’s explanation has finally given us is the understanding that allows us to do that securely and unconditionally.
When all the evidence of human behaviour seems to suggest that we are selfish, competitive, angry and flawed, it has been extraordinarily difficult for humans to genuinely love and accept themselves. What Jeremy’s explanation does is reveal why we had to become that way, and why beneath all that upset we are fundamentally good. That is what removes the deep insecurity and self-condemnation at the heart of the human condition.
Thank you for such a lovely and uplifting reflection, and at 90 years of age it is wonderful to hear such gratitude, openness and enthusiasm for life.

I currently have been having conversations with a friend about the “meaning of life.” What is wrong with people? I totally take responsibility for absolutely everything in my own actions and in my life. My friend and I are feeling that maybe we are part of a small group of people who walk with love and respect and empathy and caring and community. What I have just listened to was amazingly comforting to me. Thank you.

I can’t wait to see it
Sondra
Just wish I was more intelligent. I will hang in and see if I can try to make sense!
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thank you very much for your feedback Sondra. The fundamental explanation is actually very simple and not beyond the most basic of educations, however the very nature of the human condition means explanation of it can be initially difficult to access as it has been the most terrifying of subjects to face because it is the issue of whether we are fundamentally good or bad as a species, and we have necessarily lived in almost total denial of it.
For people new to this concept, we recommend Jeremy’s helpful addition to the THE Interview, the presentation Please, Please, Beware The ‘Deaf Effect!’ Following the transcript of THE Interview, you’ll find the video and transcript of this important second presentation that warns of, and solves, the difficulty virtually everyone initially has taking in or ‘hearing’ analysis of the once—but no longer—unbearably confronting subject of the human condition.

FIX THE WORLD Admin
YES you can watch THE Interview on our YouTube channel or our on our website. It is the best place to begin as in THE Interview Jeremy presents his breakthrough ‘Instinct vs Intellect’ explanation of the human condition. From there, don’t miss its extremely helpful 2026 addition, Please, Please, Beware The ‘Deaf Effect’!, where Jeremy warns of — and presents the solution to — the initial ‘Deaf Effect’ difficulty of taking in or ‘hearing’ analysis of the human condition. Together, these two key presentations provide the ideal introduction to Jeremy’s explanation and can be found at the top of our homepage at HumanCondition.com or on our YouTube channel.
Richard Bridges
Now that made perfect sense to me and since I’m already seeing a psychologist and a psychiatrist the next time that I see each of them I’m going to bring up this concept in your suggestions I think it’s brilliant to say the least it would now all fall back on man’s willingness to look within himself and be willing to change what his intellectual mind and knows is the right thing and based on this interview and I think a lot of people are going to need a professional help and guidance for introspection as well as guided reconstruction of our instincts and to be overshadowed by our intellect which is the way it was meant to be from the beginning I’m sure
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Hi Richard, it is wonderful this understanding is resonating with you and thank you for your comment. Explanation of the human condition opens up an entirely new way of thinking about humans which takes a little time to fully absorb. For instance, biologist Jeremy Griffith explains all humans are born with all-loving, moral instincts, not savage animal instincts, but we now suffer from a universal psychosis caused by the clash between our instinct and intellect. We became psychologically upset and alienated from our original selfless, loving state because of our conscious mind’s necessary, and indeed heroic, search for knowledge. Jeremy also explains in THE Interview the human condition has been the most terrifying of subjects because it is the issue of whether we are fundamentally good or bad as a species. So much so we have necessarily lived in almost total denial of it and got on with the noble but corrupting task of searching for knowledge. However now that knowledge is found, and our fundamental goodness is biologically established, that forbidden realm has now been made safe and our behaviour will change naturally as a result. As Jeremy explains in Part 4 titled ‘How does the psychological rehabilitation of the human race that the arrival of understanding of the human condition finally makes possible actually occur?’: “Well, what this real—and actually very obvious—instinct vs intellect explanation of the human condition fundamentally does is lift the ‘burden of guilt’ from the human race. It establishes that we humans are good and not bad after all. While we are all inevitably variously angry, egocentric and alienated from our different encounters with humanity’s heroic battle to find knowledge, ultimately self-knowledge, understanding of our corrupted condition, we can now know that every human is fundamentally good. And this ability to understand and know there was a good reason why the human race became psychologically upset, is the key, relieving understanding we have been in search of ever since we became conscious some 2 million years ago and our corrupted condition emerged. That is the key relief for our mind—being finally able to understand that we are good and not bad is what brings us the greatest psychological relief of all.” That is the core breakthrough of Jeremy’s explanation, we can now know that our psychological upset was the price humans had to pay for searching for knowledge and that the human story presents the greatest, most heroic story ever told. That is the overarching comforting truth that loves and unites all humans now and we can look after ourselves and each other with great compassion and kindness, and, most importantly, we don’t have to overly confront the upset within us. As psychiatrist Professor Harry Prosen, a former President of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, wrote: “What Griffith is presenting is understanding of the source insecurity that the whole human race suffers from for having destroyed our species’ innocent soul. It is a universal self-blame that his understanding at last provides healing insight into... [trauma caused humans] to establish a disconnect between their conscious rational mind and their repressed subconscious emotional distressed state. So that disconnect or denial isn’t easily eroded, but the beauty of Griffith’s treatise is that the healing starts at the macro level of the universal human condition; the healing of the shame and blame that the whole human race has suffered from, which is non-personal and thus more easily confronted, absorbed and accepted. It brings the greater context and love to all human psychosis and suffering, and then, from under the umbrella of that safe position, everyone can gradually work inwards to their particular experience of all the imperfections in human life that have now, finally, been made sense of” — see FAQ 1.34 ‘How does understanding the human race’s condition help with an individual’s depression and psychosis?’ and also FAQ 1.35 on ‘Does this heal anxiety?’.
We hope this helps with your thoughts Richard and it is important to mention that we do actually caution people, in all our main publications, about the unavoidably confronting nature of the subject of the human condition, because it can be destablising, especially for people with a history of psychological instability or extreme trauma. We urge people to seek or continue the ongoing support of professional help and point out that any information we do provide should not be used as, or as a substitute for, professional counselling so it is excellent you are going to discuss your interest with your psychologist and psychiatrist. This is summarised in FAQ 1:19 ‘A caution about the danger of over-exposure / Advice for people with mental health issues’ which we encourage you to read.

FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thanks Dee. You have finally found what you are looking for. As you keep absorbing THE Interview and the material on our website, you will appreciate the critical distinction between this explanation and the many spiritual approaches people have understandably explored in search of peace. While spiritual practices can help people step back from, quieten or transcend the troubled, egocentric mind, Jeremy’s explanation of the human condition is something different: it explains why that troubled state arose in the first place and resolves it at its source.
We are thinking beings, so ultimately our conscious mind needs rational, accountable answers. What Jeremy’s work provides is the biological explanation for why the clash between our instinct and intellect caused us to become angry, egocentric and alienated, and why our conscious mind was nevertheless fundamentally good and heroic in pursuing knowledge.
So rather than needing to escape or suppress the mind, the mind can finally understand and be reconciled with itself. That is the great unlocking point this explanation provides, and the basis for the lasting personal and global transformation you are looking for.

I have never learnt so much in life, when I listen it’s blown my mind

Fyodor Dostoevsky predated Jeremy . He presented an almost identical view a hundred and fifty years ago. In his “Notes from the underground” his narrator declared that being overly conscious is an actual disease . Instead of living naturally, the highly conscious individual watches himself live leading to psychological distress and alienation and probably what Jeremy described as psychosis
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thank you for your comment. Dostoyevsky was certainly an extraordinary thinker, and, like a number of great thinkers throughout history, he perceived important elements of the human condition with remarkable insight.
However, we suggest that what is unique about Jeremy Griffith’s work is that he has answered the essential question of why, when the universal ideals are to be integrative, are we so disintegrative? Our endeavours in philosophy, psychology and biology have failed, until now, to provide a truthful, real, fully accountable, genuinely clarifying explanation. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents here. We suggest FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this original or new?’ and Video/Freedom Essay 4, which expands further on other thinkers, both ancient and contemporary, who have recognised instinct and intellect elements involved in creating the human condition.
And this understanding also allows us to make an important distinction in relation to Dostoyevsky’s observation that excessive consciousness could be seen as a “disease”. We can now understand that although the emergence of our conscious mind was what precipitated the conflict with our pre-established instincts, consciousness itself was not the problem or a disease. Quite the opposite: our conscious mind had to defy those instincts in order to search for knowledge and understanding, so the conscious mind was ultimately the hero of the story, not the villain.
Jeremy is in fact obviously deeply appreciative of Dostoyevsky’s extraordinary insight. In THE Interview he quotes at length from Dostoyevsky’s The Dream of a Ridiculous Man, describing it as “such a wonderful intuitive remembrance of our species’ bonobo-like time in an alienation-free, all-sensitive and all-loving state of innocence”. Dostoyevsky wrote of a time when people “did not aspire to knowledge of life as we aspire to understand it”, lived without quarrelling or jealousy, and were so loving that even the animals were “conquered by their love”.
Jeremy points out how strikingly this parallels modern observations of bonobos, and how accurately Dostoyevsky intuitively recognised both our original loving condition and the significance of humanity’s later search for knowledge. So Dostoyevsky’s insights are very much acknowledged; what Jeremy’s work adds is the clarifying biological explanation of why that transition to consciousness produced the human condition, and why understanding it finally resolves the conflict.

Some people might find this interesting and helpful. However, because I followed the Orissor philosophy for 28 years, I found nothing new within this video - and nothing helpful.
But thanks very much for sharing!
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thanks for your comment, and for sharing your experience with Orissor. We understand Orissor to be a philosophy that encourages free thinking, questioning established conditioning and beliefs, and applying practical, common-sense thinking to questions about life and its purpose.
While it takes some time to digest, we suggest that what is unique about Jeremy Griffith’s work is that he has answered the essential question of why, when the universal ideals are to be integrative, are we so disintegrative? Our endeavours in philosophy, psychology and biology have failed, until now, to provide a truthful, real, fully accountable, genuinely clarifying explanation.
Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents here. So while there may well be ideas in THE Interview that seem familiar from Orissor or other philosophies, we suggest the crucial new element is this biological explanation of the underlying cause of the human condition — the instinct–intellect clash — and the reconciling understanding it provides.

It is true that the truth that will save mankind is not far from the Bible.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
We welcome your interest Rosemary. While Christianity and other religions contain all manner of truths about human life, it is all from a pre-scientific view. Ultimately what we have needed is to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy Griffith presents which actually reconciles science and religion. You might be interested in our FAQs about religion. For instance FAQ 6.3 ‘Does understanding of the human condition undermine a faith in religion or God?’ explains: “The whole objective of our conscious mind has been to replace ignorance, mystery, superstition and dogma with knowledge and understanding. But, in order to search for knowledge and comply with our almost universal need to deny the human condition, we needed both science and religion. This is because science took up the responsibility of inquiring into the mechanisms and workings of our world in a denial-complying, mechanistic (not-holistic) way, while religion became the custodian of the integrative, ‘Godly’, cooperative ideals of life while the search for the liberating understanding of humans’ ‘fallen’ condition was underway. (Integrative Meaning, which we have personified as ‘God’, is explained in chapter 4 of biologist Jeremy Griffith’s definitive work, FREEDOM: The End Of The Human Condition, and in Freedom Essay 23.)... Obviously what was desperately missing was the reconciling understanding of our upset behaviour and the Godly ideals; reconciling understanding of the human condition in fact” which is exactly what Jeremy presents in THE Interview and his definitive book FREEDOM.

Debora
Love is all we need
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Yes Debora we desperately need love, but as biologist Jeremy Griffith explains in THE Interview until we found the redeeming understanding of our dark side it has not been possible to love ourselves, each other or the world properly. Thankfully that understanding has now been found, and we can finally heal ourselves and fix the world! It might help you to read our FAQ 6.5 ‘Is this just another self-help, New Age, pseudo idealistic, superficial-treatment-of-psychosis type movement?’ which begins, “There has been much talk of the need to love each other and the environment, but the real need on Earth has been to love the dark side of ourselves, to find reconciling and redeeming understanding of our species’ extraordinary capacity for brutality, selfish indifference to others, hate, anger, oppression, meanness, cruelty, devastation and destruction—to explain the psychological origins of our deeply distressed so-called human condition and by so doing heal our troubled souls and set ourselves free from our 2-million-years corrupted condition. And it is precisely that all-important explaining, redeeming, reconciling and liberating understanding of ourselves that is presented in biologist Jeremy Griffith’s work.” Also, most significantly, Jeremy explains what love actually is, which is unconditional selflessness, and why it so important in our lives and in the development of humanity. There is actually a clear theme or purpose or meaning of existence, which is the ordering or integration of matter, a process that is driven by the physical law of Negative Entropy – see FAQ 5.3 ‘What is the Integrative Meaning of life or ‘God?’’. Also Jeremy explains that humans developed moral instincts through prolonged nurturing, which over time hardwired selfless love into our biology — the real origin of our ‘moral soul’ - see FAQ 5.2 ‘How did we acquire our moral soul?’. As well Jeremy has written an essay titled ‘What is Love’ in his book The Book Of Real Answers To Everything! on our website. Hi Blossom, it’s wonderful to have your interest. You can immediately access free copies of THE Interview and FREEDOM (to read, listen to, download and even print) on the FIX THE WORLD homepage under the ‘WHAT NEXT after watching THE Interview?’ section. Also you can freely access all of Jeremy Griffith’s books on our website. As well you can download free Kindle versions from Amazon. If you are particularly after a hardcopy of Jeremy’s books they are available to purchase from Amazon and other good bookstores. You might find our FAQ 1.13 'Is this idea original or new? / How does biologist Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition differ from other theories that recognise these elements?’ fascinating. It explains, as is discussed in THE Interview, many other thinkers throughout history who, like Jeremy, have recognised that our divisive, competitive and aggressive human condition is a product of a clash between our instincts and intellect. However, what was missing from the analysis of all these other thinkers was the ability to explain WHY this conflict occurred. Answering this question, as Jeremy has done, is all-important because it is only this clarifying, redeeming and reconciling explanation of the nature of the struggle between our instinctive self and conscious self that at last brings peace to our divided selves. Also, as author Richard Heinberg wrote (quoted in Part 2 of THE Interview): “Every religion begins with the recognition that human consciousness has been separated from the divine Source, that a former sense of oneness… has been lost… everywhere in religion and myth there is an acknowledgment that we have departed from an original… innocence and can return to it only through the resolution of some profound inner discord”. So it is this resolution of the source of the separation and discord that Jeremy’s instinct vs intellect explanation of the human condition provides and why it is praised as such a great breakthrough by thought leaders and the general public around the world which you can see on our Commendations page on our website.

Judith Stevens Hennessy
We humans can fix this. You are right. A huge mistake is something which is routinely taught in public schools which mesmerizes students into beliving they must COMPETE with eachother. The goal of ‘winning’ one against the other has been inculcated throughout the US educational system, but not every country supports this unhealthy and unloving notion. I am a cultural anthropologist and I know that with the appropriate early childhood teaching society can eradicate the destructive and falsely tauted value of competitiveness with understanding and loving appreciation of ‘human differences’ which is conducive to an atmosphere of ‘oneness’ instead of self centeredness. JSH
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thank you JSH. You are certainly right that competition has become deeply embedded in much of modern society, including education. But THE Interview makes the important point that education is not the ultimate source of our competitive behaviour.
As Jeremy Griffith explains, the real source was the unavoidable clash that developed between our emerging conscious intellect and our already established cooperative, loving instincts. That clash produced the psychologically upset state of anger, egocentricity and alienation that has been compounding ever since — and competition became one of the ways humans sought to prove and reinforce their worth.
It follows that the further back in humanity’s history we go, the less psychologically upset people were, and so the more cooperative and loving they were — something we can still see evidence of in relatively innocent indigenous or so-called ‘primitive’ cultures.
So while education and social structures can certainly encourage or discourage competitiveness, the only thing that could truly end our competitive, egocentric state was the reconciling understanding of why we became that way in the first place. That is the great biological breakthrough presented in THE Interview. With our fundamental goodness and worth now biologically established, we no longer need to keep proving ourselves through competition, and can finally return to a genuinely cooperative and loving way of living.
Greg
Thank you for your excellent response. Thinking further on this there may be a fruitful synthesis of the two approaches: 1.Understand the human being completely — without condemnation. 2. And then investigate the Awareness in which that human being appears. That takes Jeremy’s “understand yourself” and pushes it one question further: “What is the Self that understands?” That, to me, is where the conversation between Freedom and Vedanta becomes genuinely profound. I agree that Jeremy’s approach is the best place to start the enquiry for almost everyone (in the West at least) but I also think that ultimately, a further inquiry into the Self would be the next logical step. Perhaps too (idealistic) big a step for most at the moment but still necessary for total liberation.
As THE Interview explains, all humans are born with an all-loving and compassionate soul or instinctive self, from which our spirituality is sourced, but we became alienated from that original soulful state because of the conscious mind’s necessary search for knowledge. So we suggest that, with further digestion, you may find that liberating us from the psychosis of the human condition does in fact explain and encompass our spirituality, rather than spirituality necessarily requiring a further step beyond this explanation. You might also like to explore our FAQs about the Transformed State which explain how this understanding opens up a whole denial-free, truthful, human-condition-confronting-not-human-condition-avoiding paradigm that frees us from the agony and horror of the human condition and fixes the world! Great understanding of the human condition. Thank you for making us understand that we need to be aware of the deficit within the context of “Freedom”
Greg
Hi Jeremy,
I have learnt a lot by reading your book “Freedom”, thank you.
I also have an interest in Advaita Vedanta so I asked AI to look at your basic ideas and the proposed solution and contrast it with Advaita Vedanta.
It’s conclusion put the relationship this way:
“Griffith offers a theory of how the human ego became conflicted.
Advaita investigates whether the ego is who we fundamentally are.
Advaita:
The deepest problem is ignorance of our true nature as consciousness.
Griffith:
The central problem is the unresolved psychological conflict produced by human evolution and self-consciousness.
And consequently:
Griffith’s freedom is psychological freedom.
Advaita’s freedom is freedom from mistaken identity altogether.
There is no need to choose one over the other. Griffith’s ideas can be interesting at the transactional human level, while Advaita asks the deeper question of what is ultimately real.
And perhaps the most beautiful bridge between them is this:
Understand the person → stop condemning the person → observe the person → discover you are not merely the person → rest as awareness.
That last step is where Freedom meets Turiya.”
I just thought I’d pass this on as an interesting comparison to the ultimate dilemma of human
unrest.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thank you for sharing the comparison Greg. A critical distinction that needs to be made is that Jeremy’s explanation is not simply a description of how the conscious thinking self (note that The Concise Oxford Dictionary defines “ego” as “the conscious thinking self”) or human ego became conflicted; it explains, in rational biological terms, why that conflict arose and, crucially, how understanding it brings the conflict to an end.
The significance is that once our angry, egocentric and alienated state is understood as the psychologically inevitable result of the clash between our emerging conscious mind and our original instinctive orientation, the old burden of condemnation disappears, as does the need for our defensive behaviours. The human condition is reconciled at its source.
So while Advaita seeks freedom through recognising a deeper identity beyond the ego, Jeremy’s work explains that the human ego itself no longer needs to be escaped, suppressed or transcended once it has finally been understood and defended. That is what makes the explanation so transforming: it rationally resolves the underlying conflict rather than asking us to distance ourselves from it.

I love this,it begins with faith self healing...sharing,Love,God ❤️🙏let’s fix the world together 🙏
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Wonderful. But take your time with this Jacinta! Having scientific understanding of the human condition represents a massive paradigm shift in our thinking. We humans have always intuitively believed we were fundamentally good, but we have never been able to explain our contradictory, conflicted condition. Ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why we are fundamentally good—answer the age-old question of why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents here. It represents the end of faith and dogma and the beginning of knowing.

FIX THE WORLD Admin
Hi Wendy, at last we can understand we have been driven by a deep insecurity about our fundamental goodness or worth and so now that our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living. ‘Legitimately’ because at last we have the first principle-based science which liberates us to be honest about our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it. This is the rapidly transforming practical effect of being able to understand the human condition which is fully explained and illustrated on our Transformation page.

FIX THE WORLD Admin
What is unique about Jeremy Griffith’s work is that he has answered the essential question of why, when the universal ideals are to be integrative are we so disintegrative? Our endeavours in philosophy, psychology and biology have failed, until now, to provide a truthful, real, fully accountable, genuinely clarifying explanation. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents here.
In a nutshell, what is being explained is that when we humans developed a conscious mind some 2 million years ago, a battle unavoidably developed between it and our already established instincts. The result of this conflict between our instinct and intellect was that we became psychologically defensive, angry, alienated and egocentric—the upset state we refer to as the human condition. But now that we can explain and understand this conflict, all those insecure, defensive behaviours are obsoleted, brought to an end, and we free ourselves from the human condition. We suggest you listen to THE Interview again, and you will find it very quickly becomes clear.
Finally, the work of FIX THE WORLD is a scientific pursuit and was not created for profit, so all of our information and materials (including books, videos and podcasts) are provided absolutely free of charge on our website (no email required and there is no money involved), see FAQs about FIX THE WORLD. The absolutely astonishing claims made about Jeremy Griffith’s breakthrough explanation do warrant initial extreme scepticism, but the amazing fact is that they all withstand scrutiny, see our FAQ 1.9 ‘Why people can have confidence in the bold claims made about biologist Jeremy Griffith’s work’. Also Jeremy’s work has also received outstanding commendations and reviews from leading thinkers and scientists.

Hi Anita, what Jeremy Griffith presents is all first principle-based, rational, testable, biological explanation of the human condition. It is 100% logically and accountable so you can watch our ideal introductory presentation THE interview (at the top of our homepage) and judge for yourself! This is fully explained in our FAQ 1.9 ‘Why people can have confidence in the bold claims made about biologist Jeremy Griffith’s work’ It might also help you to read the daily ecstatic responses THE Interview is receiving on our homepage and the commendations Jeremy’s work has received from eminent scientists and thinkers (on our Commendations page).
E.V.
I doubt anyone who is not a “thinking” human being or self reflective at the very least,is going to understand or comprehend anything he is saying, unfortunately. I think we all know people like this. The type where you even use the phrase “human condition”…and you’ll see a blank look from them like all they’re hearing is crickets in their head. They go blank, shut off and go back to their games on their device.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Hi E.V. and thank you for your comment. As biologist Jeremy Griffith explains in THE Interview humans have been terrified of the human condition because, without understanding its biological cause, we had no defence against the shame of our corruption of our species’ original cooperative and loving innocent state. So there has been a very legitmate reason for people’s “blank look” and given the world’s escalating mental health crisis and the growing turmoil, conflict and distress everywhere, this understanding could not be more urgently needed! In Jeremy’s extremely helpful addition to THE Interview, titled Please, Please, Beware The ‘Deaf Effect’! (both are available for free at the top of our homepage), that massive problem and its solution is exactly what is described and delivered. Jeremy warns of the difficulty virtually everyone initially has taking in or ‘hearing’ analysis of the once—but no longer—unbearably confronting subject of the human condition. He then shows how patience and perseverance in reading or listening to the all-redeeming explanation of the human condition enables everyone to overcome the ‘deaf effect’ and discover the beyond-description-exciting, life-resuscitating, human-race-fixing, safe new world for the human race! We also suggest our FAQ 1.1 ‘What is the human condition?’.
Tom
Interesting, me being a Disciple of Jesus Christ, this shake a major portion of my foundation of beliefs. Keep an open mind while maintaining my faith in the HOLY SPIRIT.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thank you for your comment Tom and explanation of the human condition does present a massive paradigm shift in our thinking so your approach of keeping an open mind while maintaining your faith is exactly what we recommend people do as this does take time to absorb and reconcile with our current interpretation of the world. We certainly respect people’s religious views and feel it is important to mention that Jeremy Griffith’s work doesn’t contradict a belief in God or Christianity. It simply brings biological understanding to all those pre-scientific concepts which is further explained in our reply to Alice Markewitz directly below. In fact Jeremy considers the Bible to be a repository of extremely rare denial-free truth, containing all the truth about human life albeit from a pre-science view. Although this is science, it is based on a Godly nature in the sense of recognising, like all the great religions do, that we humans once lived in a pre-human-condition-afflicted state of original innocence where we were perfectly instinctively orientated to the cooperative, selfless, loving, ‘Godly’ ideals of life; ‘God’ being explained in as being the integrative meaning of life (see FAQ 6.2 ‘What is God’). And as our FAQ 6.3 ‘Does understanding undermine a faith in religion or God?' explains “Obviously what was desperately missing was the reconciling understanding of our upset behaviour and the Godly ideals; reconciling understanding of the human condition in fact”. So the difference being that we can now with the benefit of science, bring clarifying, first-principle biological explanation to our so-called ‘good and evil’-afflicted human condition and why we had to depart from our original innocence, whilst religion had to rely on metaphor and a more literal interpretation. Also, as we explain in the above FAQ, in dealing with such a historically difficult subject for us humans, these biological explanations of the human condition are, by nature, very confronting and although ultimately represent a fulfilment of religion, they do demystify religious concepts which some people can find very challenging, so we encourage everyone to take their time investigating what’s being presented. For instance this quote reinforces your approach Tom: “...it naturally will take time to absorb and reconcile the two interpretations in our mind. We suggest that what is required is to hold onto your more ethereal, metaphysical faith while patiently continuing to think about all the scientific explanations of our meaning and place in the world—because those understandings (if they are truly accountable, which we are sure all the evidence will indicate they are) will eventually confirm every aspect of your faith.”
Alice Markewitz
After all my Bible Study... precepts for 4 years.... Your information is so valuable!!! Speaks amazing information into my life !
FIX THE WORLD Admin
It is wonderful this understanding is resonating so deeply with you Alice. While Christianity and other religions do contain all manner of extraordinarily profound truth about human life, it is from a pre-scientific view. Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition brings biological understanding to religious accounts of our condition and at last reconciles science and religion (see FAQ 1.15 ‘If this is biology, why the religious references’) which is so valuable and amazing! For instance, as you will have watched, in Part 2 of THE Interview Jeremy explains the Biblical story of Adam and Eve is a pre-scientific metaphor for the emergence of consciousness and its clash with our pre-established, cooperative loving instincts, resulting in humans becoming psychologically upset or ‘sinful’ or ‘evil’. However, significantly we can now understand, from scientific first principles, that ‘Adam and Eve’ were ‘good’ to search for knowledge, not ‘bad’ or ‘evil’; we humans are actually the absolute heroes of the whole story! So this explanation fundamentally lifts the ‘burden of guilt’ from the human race and allows us to forgive ourselves and others and finally end our psychologically troubled human condition—it couldn’t be a bigger breakthrough! You might be interested in our FAQs about religion, especially FAQ 6.3 ‘Does this understanding undermine religion’. Also there are Jeremy’s Freedom Essays 38 – 41 about the demysification of religion which are absolutely fascinating.

Bonobos nurture offspring’s. Humans are corrupted by greed for keeping up with the Jones. We need to allow woman or man the opportunity to nurture their offspring without the fear of going broke. There’s more to this human condition than money.
What is so extraordinary about Jeremy’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition is that we can now understand the fundamental reason why people want more than they need; we can now understand the source of our greed, and more generally, materialism. When the conscious mind went in search of knowledge a conflict between our instinct and intellect broke out, leading to an undeserved sense of guilt and insecurity that caused us to become psychologically defensive, angry, alienated and egocentric — the upset state we refer to as the human condition, a state we sought to alleviate through a competitive, selfish and aggressive bid for the reinforcement we could gain from winning power, fame, fortune and glory. This is the underlying source of our greed. But now that we can explain and understand this conflict and the guilt and insecurity it produced, all those defensive behaviours are obsoleted, brought to an end, and we free ourselves from the human condition, see our FAQ 1.6 ‘Why does understanding of the human condition solve everything?’.
Shauna Lee
Now this will be a way out of murder charges for our human knowledge now they will use that for the cause of our minds to fallow it will probably become now they can prove that that person who kill will get off on due to not responsible for killing some one pled insanities due to human condition and that is going. It will become a dark error of humanity cause a lot of killings will be because of our defective brains. How are we going to get better how are you going to heal that by therapy ! I belive therapy is good to an extent but not in this this new condition there are very few that could help me in my horrible abuse therapy only could go so far not many therapist are qualified in my abuse or some of my friends! Or none that take certain insurance or way out of most people’s pocket book. So the only people that will get to heal is a big pocket book! I truly have to belive in my higher power to keep me sane and to be a citizen of this country and able to live an ok life! I choose to call my higher power god !! We all have to believe in something to get through this hell we are in now but more is to come! Let’s pray this new discovery will help and not hurt!! I will pray it does !!
FIX THE WORLD Admin
We are very, very sorry to hear about the abuse you have suffered Shauna Lee and are appreciative of your interest. Life under the duress of the human condition has absolutely been such a deeply, deeply tragic journey full of so much unthinkable pain and suffering. We firstly wanted to stress explanation of the human condition does not, in any way, condone the horrific acts humans can commit. As THE Interview explains all humans are born with loving moral instincts (not savage animal instincts) but we all now variously suffer from a psychosis due to the human condition and, in the extreme, that psychologically conflicted upset state can produce shocking acts of cruelty, sadism, hate, murder and war. Importantly, this breakthrough explanation does not condone or sanction such horrendous atrocities (what historically has been termed ‘evil’) rather, through bringing compassionate understanding to the source of humans’ upset behaviour, it gives us the power to ameliorate and thus subside and ultimately eliminate it. We suggest our FAQ 1.38 ‘Aren’t some people just born psychopathic, or even ‘evil’? / How does this explanation rehabilitate people capable of ‘evil’ behaviour? / Does this condone ‘evil’ behaviour?’
So the significance of this explanation, and what brings about the change we all long for, is that by bringing reconciling understanding to our conflicted selves we will ultimately be able to truly heal everyone’s psychologically upset condition. We can understand humans psychological upset was the price our species had to pay for searching for knowledge so the human story is the greatest, most heroic story ever told. That macro comforting truth looks after all humans now and we can treat ourselves with great compassion and kindness, and most significantly, we don’t have to overly confront the upset within us. This is summarised in our FAQ 1.19 ‘A caution about the danger of over-exposure’. As the distinguished psychiatrist Professor Harry Prosen (who wrote the Introduction to Jeremy Griffith’s definitive book FREEDOM) said: “What Griffith is presenting is understanding of the source insecurity that the whole human race suffers from for having destroyed our species’ innocent soul. It is a universal self-blame that his understanding at last provides healing insight into. All human behavior is saturated with that universal insecure, depressing state and resulting anger, egocentricity and alienation that has developed from it, but we finally have the compassionate foundation insight needed to dismantle all that ‘upset’/psychosis. So the real psychotherapy of our collective and individual psychoses can begin” (see FAQ 1.34).
Ian
Here it is!
Carol
I believe in this, though how do we get there?
FIX THE WORLD Admin
It is wonderful to have your interest Carol! Solving the human condition solves all the confusion, frustration and suffering in human life at its source. We can now understand that our behaviour has been driven by a deep insecurity about our fundamental goodness, so now that our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living, which is explained in Part 4 of THE Interview. This is the rapidly transforming effect of being able to understand the human condition, however because it presents a huge paradigm shift in our thinking it does take a little time to fully grasp. As well as Part 4 our FAQs 1.4 to 1.6 are helpful as they talk about the far-reaching practical applications of this understanding. For the most detailed explanation of the transformation that is now possible we recommend Jeremy’s two seminal presentations on the topic: The Great Transformation and Sermon On The Beach. It is worth mentioning, in terms of your question, FAQ 6.5 clarifies that this is not another new age-type false start to a new world for humans that can’t and doesn’t last because we have the first principle science which liberates us to be honest about our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it. Also joining our Facebook group (with 120,000 members) is highly recommended because there is so much helpful, practical and inspired discussion taking place there about living with this immensely relieving knowledge!

Oronde Marcellous
The bible shows this account is the flood or preflood or the tower of bable with the k owledge of God or self awareness consciousness before this we were one human family after the tower we have been separate and competition came in and oneness left
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thank you for your comment Oronde. Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition brings biological understanding to religious accounts of our condition, which means we can at last reconcile science and religion. For example in Part 2 of THE Interview Jeremy explains the story of Adam and Eve is a pre-scientific metaphor for the emergence of consciousness and its clash with our pre-established, cooperative loving instincts, resulting in humans becoming psychologically upset or ‘sinful’ or ‘evil’. He then explains “all our religions and most of our mythologies have recognised the basic conflict within us—that the emergence of ‘consciousness’ caused our ‘Fall’ from ‘innocence’”. However, significantly we can now understand, from scientific first principles, that Adam and Eve were ‘good’ to search for knowledge, not ‘bad’; we humans are actually the absolute heroes of the whole story! This is what Jeremy’s treatise establishes and in so doing fundamentally lifts the ‘burden of guilt’ from the human race and allows us to forgive ourselves and others and finally end our psychologically troubled human condition. As FAQ 6.3 ‘Does understanding undermine a faith in religion or God?' explains “Obviously what was desperately missing was the reconciling understanding of our upset behaviour and the Godly ideals; reconciling understanding of the human condition in fact". Also FAQ 1.15 ‘If this is biology why are there religious references’ explains the human condition is the realm of inquiry where science and religion overlap, so naturally in explaining the human condition religious references will be used, and through scientific explanation, finally demystified and reconciled.
So ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents in THE Interview (see FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this idea original or new?’) and why it is praised as such by leading scientists and thinkers around the world, see our Commendations page on our website.
In terms of the Tower of Babel story that you mention, we thought you would find this extract from Jeremy’s book Freedom Expanded: Book 1, Part 10:1 helpful: “It has to be emphasised again what an absolutely exceptional prophet Moses was and what an incredibly important role he has played for humanity. Moses presented the complete denial-free history of humanity—all the major stages that humankind has progressed through. The story of Adam and Eve described how the human race once lived in an uncorrupted, innocent state and then, when we became fully conscious, our upset angry, egocentric and alienated state appeared. Included in this story of the appearance of upset is the acknowledgment that humanity became patriarchal, or male-role led, and the acknowledgment that sex became perverted, with all the consequences of that. Then, in the story of Cain and Abel, Moses acknowledged the emergence of the different degrees of upset, of innocence and alienation, amongst humans, and how the development of upset became so great that the more upset turned on the more innocent and began to oppress, attack and even kill them for their unjust condemnation of the more upset state. The story of Cain and Abel also described how compassion appeared, and how the rapidly developing upset had to be contained or ‘master[ed]’. Then, in the story of Noah, Moses recognised the advent of that most significant of all events in human life under the duress of the human condition of Resignation to a life of denial of the issue of the human condition. The story of Noah also recognised that after Resignation upset intensified to the point where we had to learn stronger forms of restraint and how only prophets with their ability to think truthfully were left to lead humanity in the development of such restraints. Moses then described the first two of the three stages of the prophet-led journey to the liberation of humanity, which was his contribution of the Imposed Discipline of the Ten Commandments and the development of the Religion of deferring to a one true God that Abraham had begun. (Plato contributed the third stage, namely of initiating and orientating the actual search for understanding of the human condition.) With these developments sufficient order and functionality in society could be maintained so as to allow humanity to spread across the world, progress depicted by Moses’ story of the Tower of Babel. In describing the work of the great prophets who preceded him, Moses also provided humanity with a truthful account of their lives. With the ability now to understand Moses’ stories and descriptions of the extraordinary nature and work of prophets we can understand what an absolutely incredible achievement Moses’ contribution to humanity was.”

FIX THE WORLD Admin
It certainly is Philip! As biologist Jeremy Griffith says in Part 4 of THE Interview: "So finding understanding of the human condition brings to an end the insecure, upset, artificial-reinforcement-dependent angry, egocentric and alienated world. A new human-condition-resolved, cooperative, selfless and loving world now emerges. Light comes streaming into the dark cave-like world of denial that we have been living in, and it will all be like waking up from a nightmare!"

This is Amazing we love to love some of us and this is amazing I can not believe the answer was right in front of us the bible is full of answers and God didn’t want humanity to suffer he didn’t want us to know everything that is why he wanted us to be free from Good and Evil. We ate from the tree of knowledge then all of us have been suffering ever since. Now all we have to do forgive ourselves. Thank God lol Thank you for this information.

I had a professor at the community College that always spoke of the human condition! Astonishing work Jeremy Griffith!!

So I have 1 question. What does it mean when I have mentally and physically have been trying to explain this break through to people for about 25 years? Does it mean it has started way before the breakthrough or am I just different than normal?
FIX THE WORLD Admin
As THE Interview explains, despite our competitive and selfish behaviour we have always intuitively believed we were fundamentally good, but we have never been able to explain this contradictory, troubled nature. Most people just spend their lives blocking out that agonising contradiction (see Freedom Essay 30 titled ‘Resignation’); while some people live with an awareness of it, and it may be that you are one of them Justin.
What is unique about Jeremy Griffith’s work is that he has answered this essential question of why, when the universal ideals are to be integrative are we so disintegrative? Our endeavours in philosophy, psychology and biology have failed, until now, to provide a truthful, real, fully accountable, genuinely clarifying explanation. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents here.

I am a Caring good person full of love and I feel at a time when the world is a very sad evil corrupt place to be. So much evil violence towards innocent children. Also starvation ,homeless people cold unwell living in the streets. Drug use, Theft , senseless murders of innocent people. Our world is a living hell. Every day we hear of a young girl or woman bring raped by illegal angry fit young asylum seekers coming off boats into Europe and the hatred in their eyes towards myself a 58 year old grandma is terrifying I am afraid to walk my own streets. They are and have the deaf effect and are demons. We need to be strong and pray for our Lord god to give us the strength we all need to protect our young females in the UK and the rest of the world. I pray even the bad evil humans on this earth open up their ears and hearts and take what you are trying to do on board. However I’m feeling it may be too far gone now. But I will and always will have faith that the world one day will be a better place. And we will live in harmony and love. I just hope I’m here to see it 🙏🏼. I thank you for your hard work and I found every word fascinating and hopeful. I have never in my life listened to anything for an hour and I could not stop listening. I do also believe in science and the way you explain things is so true. Humanity has lost its way. We need the world back on track. Or it will end 😥
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Yes Michelle, as Jeremy Griffith explains, the world is facing the terrifying end play threat of terminal levels of psychosis, manifesting in all the terrible crises that the world is facing, which is certainly daunting.
In THE Interview Jeremy describes and explains the source of the ferociously angry dark side in humans, our ‘volcanic anger’, which has meant we are capable of such horrific acts that you describe. To quote Part 4 “While we have learnt to significantly restrain and conceal—‘civilise’ as we refer to it—the phenomenal amount of upset within us, under the surface we all must be boiling with rage, and sometimes, when our restraint can no longer find a way to contain it, that anger must express itself—hence our capacity for shocking acts of cruelty, sadism, hate, murder and war.” Essentially Jeremy answers the age old question of humanity’s extremely paradoxical nature, how we humans could be good when all the evidence appears to indicate we are bad or even ‘evil’. Most importantly this explanation does not condone or sanction such upset, rather, through bringing understanding to humans’ upset behaviour, it gives us the power to ameliorate and thus subside and ultimately eliminate it.

I love the explanation between instinct and consciousness in understanding this human condition.
Claudia
Calling my unconditional Agape love for my children “selfish” because I unconsciously want to ensure my “genes” continue on is not only insulting, but insanely wrong! I have had to put myself unselfishly aside when what I wanted to do was kick one or more (I have 6) of them to the curb at any given time, is possible only because of my trust and faith in God!
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Hi Claudia, it is explained that the original genetic instinct for maternalism is a naturally selected instinctive orientation that evolved because it promotes the perpetuation of its genes through better protecting its offspring. HOWEVER, in Part 3 of THE Interview it is explained that over time, through the love indoctrination process, maternalism became a case of mothers actively loving their offspring — which was to prove the unlocking point for our species to develop our altruistic, moral instinctive self or soul, and our unique consciousness. You can read more about the nurturing-based love-indoctrination process in Freedom Essay 21.

One cant fix the World only the creator of heaven and earth can intime.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
We certainly respect your faith Cathy, but suggest that while religions contain all manner of truths about human life, it is all from a pre-scientific view. Ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy Griffith presents. You may be interested in our FAQs on Religion.
Part 4 of THE Interview, titled ‘How does the psychological rehabilitation of the human race that the arrival of understanding of the human condition finally makes possible actually occur?’, presents the answer to how this understanding allows us to fix the world. It explains while there is habituation to overcome and humans do find change difficult, at last we can understand our behaviour has been driven by a deep insecurity about our fundamental goodness or worth and so now that our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living. ‘Legitimately’ because we have the first principle science which liberates us to be honest about our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it. So instead of being focused on power, fame, fortune and glory, all our energies will be freed to truly work together on doing whatever it takes to end the suffering and save our world.

Very interesting and absolutely recommendable for one to read again and again
Richard
I find this absolutely fascinating. I’ve been on a search for something I can’t understand for a long time and I think you finally gave me the map to get there.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
It’s wonderful you have come across THE Interview Richard as what it presents truly is the long-awaited scientific breakthrough in understanding ourselves that ends human suffering at its source and unites the human race! As Professor Harry Prosen, psychiatrist and former president of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, said: “I have no doubt Jeremy Griffith’s biological explanation of the human condition is the holy grail of insight we have sought for the psychological rehabilitation of the human race.”
Okon Ononokpono
Thank you, Jeremy for your explanation. It is wonderful
Darren
I’ve extensively studied carl yung I have believed what you’re saying for awhile your further details are further eye opening although I believe today there is a fundamental problem which is 90 percent of the worlds population has a seriously compromised brain chemistry issue due to bad diet thousands of chemicals high stress social media etcetra has a lot to do with today’s insane behavior need to fix this first.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thank you for your comment Darren and it is wonderful you are gaining more and more insight through Jeremy Griffith’s work. Carl Jung was forever saying, “wholeness for humans depends on the ability to own our own shadow”. But we can now see that Jung’s great discovery of the shared-by-all ‘collective unconscious’ failed to acknowledge what our ‘collective’, shared-by-all, instinctive ‘unconscious’ actually is, which is our species’ instinctive memory of once living in a cooperative and loving state. Jung was also able to highlight a clash between instinctual drives and consciousness, however he did not explain the source of the clash (which is that our instincts were intolerant of our conscious mind’s experiments in self-management) or that the fundamental nature of our psychosis was our conscious mind’s repression of our loving and cooperative instincts. So while Jung made a great contribution to humanity’s journey toward self-understanding, what Jeremy has provided in THE Interview is the all-important clarifying, redeeming, reconciling and psychologically rehabilitating explanation for why the conflict between our instincts and our consciousness occurred. This is discussed in our FAQ 1.47 ‘How is this different to Freud and Jung?’.
So we maintain rather than poor nutrition being the cause of our compromised thinking it is the psychosis that the human condition caused in us to varying degrees. As Jeremy says in THE Interview “It makes perfect sense that the extreme guilt and shame from having corrupted our species’ original all-loving, moral, innocent instinctive self or soul would have been so unbearably depressing to think about, and thus so psychologically terrifying to confront, that we had no choice but to live in denial of the issue of our soul-corrupted, ‘fallen’ state, which, again, is the issue of the human condition.” So we’ve lived in incredible psychosis, with ‘osis’ meaning ‘abnormal state or condition’ and ‘psyche’ meaning soul, so psychosis means soul repression—and neurosis, with ‘neuron’ meaning nerves, the conscious mind, so neurosis means the state of upset; so we’ve been psychotic and neurotic. This is illustrated in Jeremy’s new addition to THE Interview titled Please, Please, Beware The ‘Deaf Effect’!, where he warns of — and presents the solution to — the initial ‘Deaf Effect’ difficulty of taking in or ‘hearing’ analysis of the human condition. Both these presentations are free to watch or read at the top of our homepage HumanCondition.com.

Interesting redeeming version and vision of the story of Adam and Eve
FIX THE WORLD Admin
We greatly appreciate your interest Eliane and thank you for your comment. The human condition is the study of humans’ capacity for acts of both so-called ‘good and evil’ it is the realm of inquiry where science and religion overlap, so in explaining the human condition religion is demystified and explained by bringing biological understanding to pre-scientific concepts, see FAQ 1.15 ‘If this is biology why are there religious references?’. So yes Jeremy Griffith brings fresh insight to the story of Adam and Eve which is a pre-scientific metaphor for the emergence of consciousness and its clash with our pre-established, cooperative loving instincts, resulting in humans becoming psychologically upset or ‘sinful’ or ‘evil’. Significantly we can now understand, from scientific first principles, that ‘Adam and Eve’ were ‘good’ to search for knowledge, not bad or disobedient; we humans are actually the absolute heroes of the whole story! It establishes that we are good and not bad after all. To quote Jeremy from Part 2: “You see, not knowing how naturally selected instincts differ from cause and effect-operating consciousness, this story of Adam and Eve becoming conscious could only conclude that the angry, egocentric and alienated condition that emerged when we became conscious was a bad, evil, sinful state, but this scientific presentation says, ‘No, no, that pre-scientific story got it wrong’. Adam and Eve are actually not just good but the heroes of the whole story of life on Earth—because surely the conscious mind is nature’s greatest invention and to be given the task of searching for understanding while the whole world’s condemning you was the hardest and toughest of tasks—because that condemnation was universal.” What THE Interview presents fundamentally lifts the ‘burden of guilt’ from the human race and allows us to forgive ourselves and others and finally end our psychologically troubled human condition — it couldn’t be a bigger breakthrough!
Phillip
Wow!!! Still trying to digest this!
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Yes Phillip explanation of the human condition introduces a completely new paradigm of understanding so there is a great deal to read, consider and digest! Also Jeremy Griffith has created an extremely helpful 2026 addition to THE Interview titled Please, Please, Beware The ‘Deaf Effect’!, where he warns of — and presents the solution to — the initial ‘Deaf Effect’ difficulty of taking in or ‘hearing’ analysis of the human condition. Together, these two key presentations, at the top of our homepage, provide the ideal introduction to Jeremy’s explanation and from there our homepage guides you through the steps to learn more! Sending you all our encouragement and good wishes Phillip.

I have forwarded this interview to all my friends & family because of it’s importance many of whom have struggled to understand the purpose of our existence. This is explained very clearly by Jeremy Griffith & well worth the listen. Thank you for sharing & bringing this thinking to our attention!
Very interesting! I really appreciate this information and your work. The Lord our God bless you!
The questions young people ask but now The adults answers found.
It’s really interesting to know
IT’s what the mind of the world needs but yet we the human race will have to wait the evolution pace we are facing, and hopefully not million years,i can understand it and live my life knowing I’m good but so much evil and bad things are happening in this world how can this change happen without being stopped by the evil and cruelty of the world !There is a natural sélection in all living things and my hope is that it happen sooner than later and that this selection evolve thowards love and love alone !

Good morning listened to how to stay young at heart and mentally awake..I never thought about why I have so long at age 90 Reflected over my life and appreciated all of the wonderful moments and gifts I received.
Thank you.
I can’t wait to see it
Just wish I was more intelligent. I will hang in and see if I can try to make sense!
Remember to love yourself!
Want to get everything from this great man can’t wait to dive in mor and not stop till I’m totally in and through to the other side the better dimension where were compassionate and more togetherness less individually living doing everything for yourself by yourself
can I see this on you tube?
I’m feeling so elevated to have watched this video, this is a life changing, thought provoking and thorough healing of the world, I’m really glad to have encountered this interview.
Thank you so much for this, it all makes sense. Cannot wait to read the book Freedom.
I’m not deaf to it, I’ve been on a spiritual journey it’s taken me down so many rabbit holes. I need to get on board with what you guys do. I need to change my mind needs peace🙏🏻🙏🏻🇦🇺🇦🇺
Exelente explanation

Some people might find this interesting and helpful. However, because I followed the Orissor philosophy for 28 years, I found nothing new within this video - and nothing helpful. But thanks very much for sharing!
I like you people that are knowledgeable and concerned..So am I’d like to know more about your intellectual studies content of special value.please somehow involve me on your trained structure of life healing.

We also recommend our FAQs 1.4 to 1.6 are helpful as they talk about the far-reaching practical applications of this understanding, and for the most detailed explanation of the transformation that is now possible we recommend Jeremy’s two seminal presentations on the topic: The Great Transformation and Sermon On The Beach. Also our FAQ 6.5 clarifies that our ability to heal depended on confronting and biologically explaining our ‘good and evil’ stricken human condition and stresses the huge difference between Jeremy’s work and the new age movement.

I need to watch the interview
That’s great Sylvester! Just go to the top of the FIX THE WORLD homepage, HumanCondition.com, where you can watch THE Interview in which biologist Jeremy Griffith presents his breakthrough ‘Instinct vs Intellect’ explanation of the human condition. Together, these two key presentations provide the ideal introduction to Jeremy’s explanation. Our homepage also guides you through the steps to pursue your interest. This includes subscribing to our mailing list where you will receive one email per week and occasional News Flashes. We also encourage people to join our Facebook Group to learn more about this amazing, human-condition-resolved new world. It is true that the truth that will save mankind is not far from the Bible.
Stop, watch, listen & listen!
Love is all we need
I like your ideas and want to learn more!
Wonderful to hear Steve. After watching THE Interview and its new addition Please, Please, Beware The ‘Deaf Effect’! (which provide the ideal introduction to Jeremy Griffith’s explanation) ideally you would read the two expansions: Jeremy’s mid-length 2025 book The Human Condition and his definitive book FREEDOM. Along with watching or reading those 4 titles, it is very helpful to watch the 3 Intro Videos, which are The Great Guilt that discusses The Deaf Effect with an audience, and the 2 very important videos about how understanding the human condition transforms your life, which are The Great Transformation and Sermon on the Beach. Also, our original, pre-2020 introductory series of 16 videos are very instructive. All these presentations and more are available for free to watch, read or download at HumanCondition.com. Also we encourage you to subscribe to our mailing list (where you will receive one email per week and occasional News Flashes) and join our Facebook Group where people benefit enormously from the general discussion, interaction and support structure provided there.
Interesting !!🙂🧐
This is so required and you have explained this beautifully - I will purchase and read your book Freedom - I have always believed that our Conscious Mind - I call the Conscious Mind the Intellect and the Instinctive Mind or the Sub Conscious the Intelligence and if we UNDERSTAND that we are Immortal Divine Beings having a Temporary Human Beings and if we become AWARE - ACCEPT that we are Good and take ACTION we can LIVE our lives Effectively Fulfilled and Productive as Happy Healthy and Peaceful Being starting NOW and getting out of the Denial circuit that we are conditioned to stay in and evolve to get in touch with our Divine Self fully CONSCIOUS and keeping that condition going forward….. Thank you for this awesome explanation…..
What a beautiful explanation. Thank you very much for the explanation
Amazing, hope to learn more
We humans can fix this. JSH
Thanks Greg, given your particular interest in Advaita (expressed in your comment below) and what you describe as a further inquiry into the Self, you may find this FAQ especially relevant FAQ 6.7 ‘How can a scientific explanation ever hope to account for and encompass the great “spiritual” dimension we know exists in life? / Isn’t “spirituality” beyond a purely rational explanation?’
What a beautiful explanation
I would like to explore this topic more comprehensively
Hi Gary, it’s great you’ve watched THE Interview as it’s the ideal introduction to Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition. From there, at top of our FIX THE WORLD homepage at HumanCondition.com, it states ‘WHAT NEXT after watching THE Interview?’ and guides you through the steps to pursue your interest. This includes subscribing to our mailing list where you will receive one email per week and occasional News Flashes. Omg thank you
Great understanding of the human condition. Thank you for making us understand that we need to be aware of the deficit within the context of “Freedom”
Hi Jeremy, I have learnt a lot by reading your book “Freedom”, thank you. I also have an interest in Advaita Vedanta so I asked AI to look at your basic ideas and the proposed solution and contrast it with Advaita Vedanta. It’s conclusion put the relationship this way: “Griffith offers a theory of how the human ego became conflicted. Advaita investigates whether the ego is who we fundamentally are. Advaita: The deepest problem is ignorance of our true nature as consciousness. Griffith: The central problem is the unresolved psychological conflict produced by human evolution and self-consciousness. And consequently: Griffith’s freedom is psychological freedom. Advaita’s freedom is freedom from mistaken identity altogether. There is no need to choose one over the other. Griffith’s ideas can be interesting at the transactional human level, while Advaita asks the deeper question of what is ultimately real. And perhaps the most beautiful bridge between them is this: Understand the person → stop condemning the person → observe the person → discover you are not merely the person → rest as awareness. That last step is where Freedom meets Turiya.” I just thought I’d pass this on as an interesting comparison to the ultimate dilemma of human unrest.
Thank you this is great information thank you! Save the human! free the slaves!! love you!!
Certainly makes you think. 🤔 Where on Vancouver Island can I get your book? And is there followers of the Human Condition to speak & understand your book with. Plus how will YOUR BOOK help us to understand why the world can help us find Freedom. With WEF/WHO are taking our FREEDOM Away From Us All.

LOVE his philosophy of The Human Condition and growth.
Interesting !
So well said
Typical stuff with not end in sight, how many have been dealing with The Human Condition? & for how long, three four Five millennia so I do not hold out hope for this mystery prize! It’s a money spinner And That Is All.

Yes the best place to start is to watch our ideal summary “masterpiece” presentation THE Interview and its extremely helpful 2026 addition, Please, Please, Beware The ‘Deaf Effect’!. Together, these two key presentations, at the top of our homepage, provide the ideal introduction to Jeremy’s explanation . Happy listening Robert!
Praying this is for real ~
Hi E.V. and thank you for your comment.
Interesting, me being a Disciple of Jesus Christ, this shake a major portion of my foundation of beliefs. Keep an open mind while maintaining my faith in the HOLY SPIRIT.
After all my Bible Study... precepts for 4 years.... Your information is so valuable!!! Speaks amazing information into my life !
I’m so excited about this information! Understanding of the human condition! Anger. Dishonesty…moral instinct? But As a Mother…. I experienced my first REAL Over whelming of what Real love must be!
Bonobos nurture offspring’s. Humans are corrupted by greed for keeping up with the Jones. We need to allow woman or man the opportunity to nurture their offspring without the fear of going broke. There’s more to this human condition than money.
Hi Kaye, thank you for your comment. Yes, in Part 3 of THE Interview, biologist Jeremy Griffith explains the significance of the extraordinarily cooperative and nurturing bonobos to our species development. Also see FAQ 5.2 ‘How did we humans acquire our all-loving, unconditionally selfless moral conscience?/ What do bonobos tell us about our own evolutionary heritage?’
Here it is!
I believe in this, though how do we get there?
So glad I happened upon this. I was questioning life on planet earth and meaning.
The bible shows this account is the flood or preflood or the tower of bable with the k owledge of God or self awareness consciousness before this we were one human family after the tower we have been separate and competition came in and oneness left
Awaking
It certainly is Philip! As biologist Jeremy Griffith says in Part 4 of THE Interview: "So finding understanding of the human condition brings to an end the insecure, upset, artificial-reinforcement-dependent angry, egocentric and alienated world. A new human-condition-resolved, cooperative, selfless and loving world now emerges. Light comes streaming into the dark cave-like world of denial that we have been living in, and it will all be like waking up from a nightmare!"
Amazing and informative
I’m interested that is amazing
Absolutely the Most Important interview For Humanity Ever Recorded ... This Video Should Be Seen By Every Human Alive ... It’s Essentially the Single Most Important Recording I’ve Ever Watched in My Life... As A Biologist Myself I Was Speechless Trying to Explain What I Was Hearing. I Know I Will Be Watching this Again and Again... Thank You to Everyone *involved in The Production of This *incredible Interview For Humanity...I am Grateful...
Enjoyed the part of the interview I listened to and will watch more soon
Human condition. Recognized by so few. Congratulations on sharing Cause and effect of life on earth. Through time we can explain. Continued studying must be done. Thankfully
This is the truth .The truth that we humans are marvelous and wonderful as we are and were meant to be like the bonobos. The development of negative consciousness in human mindset has turned humans to giving false excuses to justify human alienation and fall. Now that we do know the concious truth ,we can individually and holistically begin the reformation of our mindset from this amazing understanding. Don Ranyarta Pomb Polye
Something I have been thinking about my whole adult life
Thank you for this work and thank you for sharing this wonderful knowledge. Remain Blessed.

I’ve not listened to it yet but I will as it is my Favorite topic! I’m a lifetime biology teacher. Jr. High, Sr. High. College, PH.D. Now I am Teaching grandkids to use microscope, etc.
I love the explanation between instinct and consciousness in understanding this human condition.
I’ve not listened to all of it yet but am finding it absolutely fascinating and would love more information on how to get hold of the book freedom and any others regarding the human condition The interview is so overwhelming ive had to stop listey because my brain needs to be more alert but I intend to find the time to continue on my new venture

A very enjoyable listen. I will have to listen again. Thank you for your hard work and for sharing your immense knowledge!
Awesome! Thank you. ❤️
One cant fix the World only the creator of heaven and earth can intime.
I find this absolutely fascinating. I’ve been on a search for something I can’t understand for a long time and I think you finally gave me the map to get there.
Thank you, Jeremy for your explanation. It is wonderful
Excellent info. Very interesting.
Will listen again and again
Interesting redeeming version and vision of the story of Adam and Eve
Wow!!! Still trying to digest this!
Great
