I think this is wonderful and helpful I hope it will help to make my way forward

Dave

One of the most intelligent explanations on good and evil and the essence of mankind I have ever heard! Truly think great beginnings will come for everyone that listens.

Jean Pascal

I am interested because of the comments

cheri mcgraw

I listened and felt words resonate with me. I can’t say I am eilling ro believe all I’ve just been told. But, if true, it would explain much about how I feel inside, about my abdolute dispair in thinking about the world as it is today and even more, what hope is there for tomorrow. These are thoughts I have little time for, when my thoughts are mostly focused on finding a re;iable way to survive. But inapite of myself, something in this makes more sense than acepting the rightness of the world we live in today

WTM Admin

Thank you for your response Cheri which we greatly appreciate as the human condition has been an off-limits subject that’s for sure. This is because without the defence of our fundamental goodness, it has been an unbearably confronting subject that we sensibly had to “have little time for” and get on with life until it was explained. As Jeremy Griffith explains in Part 2 of this interview, “we’ve had to live in denial of our corrupted, psychologically upset condition while we couldn’t explain it”, which required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents here. We recommend re-watching THE Interview and then reading and/or watching Jeremy Griffith’s presentation, The Great Guilt, which outlines more comprehensively the definition of our human condition, and why engagement with the subject can be initially hard to grasp. Both these presentations are available here on our homepage.

Helen

This makes so much sense when you listen to it all. We all need to take this on board and heal.

Judith Shea

I find the basic assumption that mankind began to think of itself as evil because with a larger brain, he started to act outside inherited instinctual behavior, thus at times not following what had become a beatific life, like that of the Bonobos... he wondered why he was not following “tradition” and abandoning the obviously preferable beatific way of life. He couldn’t come up with an answer , not understanding that his species now has a bigger brain with nerves that could “think outside the box.” “How could I choose another way when the natural way is better?” So he started to feel that something was wrong with him. That led him to feel so “upset” and uncomfortable that he started behaving badly. Thinking of himself as evil because he still would not follow tradition, he began to behave in evil ways. He felt so guilty about his poor choice making that he started to use fake ways of feeling better about himself, like putting other people down, competing and winning, grabbing property that was not his, and feeling worse and worse. And this is it, the reason for mankind’s problems. I find that the assumption that all throughout the known history of mankind, people were aware of the concepts of instinctive begavior, or were aware of making a choice not to follow it, and becoming guilty for his own failure, not to be in accordance with any history one can find which describes the inner thinking and consciousness possessed by ordinary humans who after all, are the ones we are looking at who carry “the human condition.” People did NOT EVER think in those terms at all. I am running low on words here. To skip to the end, Mr. Griffith offers no method at all to instill in people’s minds “people are naturally good, not naturally bad, so now I do not feel upset any more and can be good.” How will this be achieved? He provided nothing except “think about it differently now.” Right. Like that’s a workable solution. This is all based on false concepts going nowhere.

WTM Admin

Thank you for your thoughts Judith. As THE Interview explains, despite many thinkers throughout history having recognised the human condition being caused by a clash between our instincts and intellect, what was missing from the analysis of all these thinkers was the ability to explain WHY this conflict occurred. As Jeremy Griffith says in Part 2 of this interview “while all contemporary thinkers have had the benefit of science having revealed the difference between the gene-based and nerve-based learning systems, and have therefore had the means to truthfully explain the human condition, those who did recognise the basic instinct vs intellect elements didn’t take their thinking far enough to actually explain the human condition.” This what is unique about Jeremy’s synthesis. He actually solves the dilemma of human condition of ‘why, when our instincts are to be loving and selfless, are we so competitive and selfish?’ by clarifying the difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, which is that the gene-based learning system (instincts) can orientate a species, but that the nerve-based learning system (intellect) is insightful, and that is the great breakthrough his work represents. This is fully explained in our FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this idea original or new? / How does biologist Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition differ from other theories that recognise these elements?’ Also this work is not based on “false concepts going nowhere”. Jeremy’s biological treatise has attracted the support of eminent scientists and thinkers around the world, see FAQ 1.7. For instance psychiatrist Professor Harry Prosen endorses THE Interview as “the most important interview of all time” and professor of psychology Scott Churchill states “Nothing Dr. Prosen has said about the immense importance of this book is an exaggeration. This is the book all humans need to read for our collective wellbeing.”     In terms of offering a “method” of transformation Part 4 titled ‘How does the psychological rehabilitation of the human race that the arrival of understanding of the human condition finally makes possible actually occur?’, presents the answer. It explains that it will take a number of generations for the upset within us to be completely healed but it also stresses importantly we can be immediately free of its effects. Certainly there is habituation to overcome and humans do find change difficult but at last we can understand our behaviour has been driven by a deep insecurity about our fundamental goodness or worth and so now that our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living. ‘Legitimately’ because we have the first principle science which liberates us to be honest about our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it. So instead of being focused on power, fame, fortune and glory, all our energies will be freed to truly work together on doing whatever it takes to end the suffering and save our world. How this healing is immediately open to us all is summarised in FAQ 1.5 and FAQ 1.40 addresses the questions of ‘How can you hope to transform the world?’.

The battle between the conscious mind and instinctive mind as enveloped in his psychological behavior is a deviation from his normative behavior. This continues conflict is what psychologists are trying to explain.

WTM Admin

There have been many other thinkers throughout history who, like biologist Jeremy Griffith, have recognised that our divisive, competitive and aggressive human condition, our deviation from our “normative behavior”, is a product of a battle between our instincts and intellect. However, what was missing from the analysis of all these other thinkers, including psychologists, was the ability to explain WHY this conflict occurred. Jeremy’s synthesis actually answers this question by clarifying the difference between the way the intellect and instincts work. That is the great breakthrough his work represents and what is unique about his work. You may find FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this idea original or new? / How does this instinct vs intellect explanation of the human condition differ from other theories that recognise these elements?’ of interest.

Brilliant

Advocate Nimain

I am not not well versed in technical terms of science. Can i understand the theory?

WTM Admin

Thank you for your question Advocate Nimain. The fundamental explanation is very simple so you don’t have to be familiar with scientific terms to understand it. As Craig Conway observes in this interview, the central argument is extraordinarily simple but is “so far-reaching in its ramifications” there is a lot absorb and digest which takes a little time and application. So we recommend you read FAQ 1.3 for a brief summary and then watch THE Interview (at the top of our homepage) and from there continue watching our Main Video series that follows THE Interview. Also, please feel free get in contact with us at [email protected] with any thoughts or questions you may have along the way!

Ginny

Interesting but, I would have appreciated some examples of that which he spoke. Instead he made statements without explanation.

WTM Admin

Thank you for your feedback Ginny and we are pleased to learn you found THE Interview interesting. While great care has been taken to present the explanation as quickly and simply as possible there is a lot to absorb so Jeremy Griffith has included as many examples, quotations and references as possible to evidence his arguments in this summary presentation. We do provide a transcript of THE Interview here on our website and this format may be helpful as you can access the quotes and links to references more easily.

Sherry

I didn’t comprehend the interview about the human condition! Could you explain to me on a lower level of explaining, the interview with hat solves The Human Condition and Saves The World!

WTM Admin

Hi Sherry, as THE Interview explains, the human condition is the most fearful of subjects because it’s the issue of whether we are fundamentally good or bad and our fear of this interface can make it hard to understand all that is explained in one viewing. Our FAQ 1.3 presents a very brief summary of the key ‘instinct vs intellect’ concept. Essentially, when we humans developed a conscious mind some 2 million years ago, a battle unavoidably developed between it and our already established instincts. The result of this conflict between our instinct and intellect was that we became psychologically defensive, angry, alienated and egocentric – the upset state we refer to as the human condition. But now that we can explain and understand this conflict, all those insecure, defensive behaviours are obsoleted, brought to an end, and we free ourselves from the human condition. As Craig Conway observes in this interview, while this fundamental ‘genes vs nerves’ explanation is extraordinarily simple, it is ‘so far-reaching in its ramifications’ that there is much to explain. When this is taken into account, it can be appreciated that the 1 hour interview is a very, very concise presentation. We also recommend reading FAQ 1.16 ‘What can’t I understand this?’

Peter Ferguson

Over the last 20 years or so I’ve received an understanding of myself my conscious existence a sudden realization of truth about me who I thought I was and how I became a person I didn’t really like a mostly negative cynical judgmental confused and angry. Three terms of imprisonment gave me alone time to assess deconstruct and revamp my personality to change my reality recognizing my thought patterns my ego conscious and subconscious mind my body and mind connection emotional triggers I learned to love and speak the truth it does set you free. I believe this amazing interview is the next stage of my life journey thank you so much I’m excited and and have a zest for life like I’ve never felt before Spreading the love Kea kaha🤙

WTM Admin

Life under the duress of the human condition has certainly been difficult and now at last we can now understand humans’ psychological upset was the price humans had to pay for searching for knowledge and that the human story presents the greatest, most heroic story ever told. We can biologically explain our fundamental goodness as humans and therefore bring great compassion and kindness to ourselves and each other and, most significantly, we don’t have to overly confront the upset within us — see FAQ 1.4.

Lynne brown

The magnitude of Jeremy Griffith’s Freedom for the human race, is the vital help we need. I think, paradoxically, books by ‘The Joseph Communication’ need to be read and believed first. Information therein will lead believers to both. This will bring the human race peace, happiness and faith for the next thousand years.

WTM Admin

Thank you for your comment Lynne and it is wonderful Jeremy’s work has resonated deeply with you. Empowering our spirituality which ‘The Joseph Communication’ focuses on does provide some relief and comfort but ultimately our thinking mind needed understanding—specifically, scientific understanding of why when the ideals are to be loving and selfless are we so competitive and selfish? Why have we lost our spirituality or the light within? This is what Jeremy Griffith’s treatise does and why it is heralded as the breakthrough that can save the world. We recommend FAQ 6.5, which explains the difference between Jeremy’s explanation and pseudo-idealism or new age spirituality.

Walt Oshinsky

This needs to happen SOON - we are running Out of TIME

WTM Admin

It certainly does Walt and we are working tirelessly to make it happen so come and join us because once this information tips into mainstream awareness through enough people developing a deep appreciation and desire to support it, the selfless love and energy that will generate will solve our problems very quickly because instead of being preoccupied with seeking seeking power, fame, fortune etc, all our energies will be freed to truly work together and focus on doing whatever it takes to end the suffering in all the corners of the world. You might be interested in reading FAQ 1.40 ‘Isn’t it too late to save the world? / How can you hope to transform the world?’ and FAQ 1.20 ‘How can I help the WTM?’

WTM Admin

Absolutely Walt the world is fast reaching its 11th hour, but this understanding will turn things around incredibly quickly because it explains and solves the underlying cause of all our selfishness, anger and egocentricity. We suggest reading our FAQ 1.40 which addresses the questions ‘Aren’t the problems of the world too overwhelming to ever be fixed? / Isn’t it too late to save the world?’.

Oneness of God Oneness of Religion Oneness of Mankind

WTM Admin

Hi Maran, as author Richard Heinberg says (quoted in Part 2 of THE Interview): ‘Every religion begins with the recognition that human consciousness has been separated from the divine Source, that a former sense of oneness… has been lost… everywhere in religion and myth there is an acknowledgment that we have departed from an original… innocence and can return to it only through the resolution of some profound inner discord’. It is this resolution of the source of the separation and discord that Jeremy Griffith’s instinct vs intellect explanation of the human condition provides and why it is praised as such a great breakthrough by thought leaders and the general public around the world which you can see here on our homepage.

Excellent

Stanislaw Gadomski

We are bio-robots programmed by instincts. Consider sexual instincts, dominating the mind, causing irrational behavior. Bees form better than human societies, working for common wellbeing and environment.

WTM Admin

There is a lot to digest here Stanislaw, so we recommend you take your time. In THE Interview, it is explained that the idea that we have ‘savage instincts’, an idea that most people adhere to and which is widely taught, is not right – the truth is that our instinctive legacy is loving, cooperative and compassionate (see more on this in Freedom Essay 21). However, unable to defend our non-loving, divisive behaviour, admitting our core instinctive orientation was to be loving and cooperative left us unbearably condemned, and so we employed the false excuse that we have savage instincts like other animals. As Jeremy Griffith explains our competitive and aggressive behaviour (including our sexual thoughts and behaviour - see Freedom Essay 27) is due to us having a conscious-mind-based, psychologically troubled condition, which is actually good news, because psychoses can be healed through understanding, which is what this is.

Very interesting information and looking forward to hearing more about this

Leon

Jeremy, i am a practicing Australian Aboriginal Cultural person. I believe that our race has been living this existence for thousands of years. Some small examples would be that are children are left to be children and care no blame. Also, our beliefs about the world around us as a living entity that we can communicate with as our family. i believe Darwin’s description of us as the most primitive people, explains why our culture is so downtrodden in society. i think that there is so much about our traditional society could teach, even to the point of moving forward through our spiritual knowledge of oneness.

WTM Admin

Hi Leon. Thanks for your comment. You might be interested in our response to Laura below, and would just reiterate here what we said to her about this redeeming understanding showing that all humans are equally good: What is so exciting is that this breakthrough instinct vs intellect explanation of the human condition establishes the equality of all humans and brings compassionate and thus safe understanding to ALL of human behaviour — including why the horror of racism has existed under the duress of the human condition and, most importantly, finally brings it to an end, see FAQ 9.1 ‘How do you explain racism?’. For a testimonial on the power of this information to end racism, we recommend watching/reading the presentation from Franklin Mukakanga, of Zambia, in Video/Freedom Essay 8.

Maher Hanna

Enlightening. But does not cures the human greed and/or competitiveness

WTM Admin

We appreciate your reticence that this understanding could possibly bring an end, a cure, to human greed and competitiveness, and certainly there is habituation to overcome and humans do find change very difficult, but at last we can understand that our behaviour has been driven by a deep insecurity about our fundamental goodness or worth and so now that our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living. How this healing is immediately open to us all is also summarised in FAQ 1.5. We also strongly recommend reading FAQ 1.40 which specifically addresses your question of ‘How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’. It explains that “Even those who were most committed to defensively seeking validation through gaining power and material goods, including those entrenched in positions of power, will quickly realise how empty and obsolete that strategy is now that we have the fully accountable, psychosis-addressing-and-solving, real biological explanation of the human condition that proves our worth at the most fundamental level.”

Dirk Larsen

SO interesting!

Laura Boyd

I am a First Nation woman and lived in a matriarch society. Our past ancestors like my grandparents were like Bonobo apes. Everything they did was for their children and everyone in the community helped raise a child with unconditional love. Most of this is lost due to children being taken away and put in residential school. And as a parent I cannot fathom the idea of my children being taken to away. It gives me hope for my people. We need this to understand why we are the way we are today. Thank you

WTM Admin

Yes, the central tenet of Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition is that humans have a cooperative, loving instinctive heritage, not a brutish, savage and aggressive one, and that the source of our aggression is a psychosis that has been compounding ever since the instinct and intellect clashed some 2 million years ago. It follows then that the further back in history we go, the less psychologically upset a race of people will be, and so the more nurturing, cooperative and loving they will be – and we can see evidence of this in existing indigenous races of people, such as the First Nations peoples, as you have identified. However, it needs to pointed out that even so-called ‘primitive’ races are still members of the extremely upset stage of humanity, H. sapiens sapiens, so they are still psychologically upset angry egocentric and alienated.     What is so exciting is that this breakthrough instinct vs intellect explanation of the human condition establishes the equality of all humans and brings compassionate and thus safe understanding to ALL of human behaviour — including why the horror of racism has existed under the duress of the human condition and, most importantly, finally brings it to an end, see FAQ 9.1 ‘How do you explain racism?’. For a testimonial on the power of this information to end racism, we recommend watching/reading the presentation from Franklin Mukakanga, of Zambia, in Video/Freedom Essay 8.

Might have rendered our history a bit less bloody

Tammy Nelson

I am actually coming back to watch this a second time. I’ve been working on doing everything I know how to change my life for the better since I was 15. 40 years to be more exact. I can’t say that I have arrived to the life I always wanted but not all is lost for me. But the way so many people seem to be more lost than I am at times makes me very frustrated. Just to say it simple. I welcome the new information because I’m always looking to understand better because I know understanding makes a difference. I actually need to listen again before I can share more and better insight I think because I have to process more what this means to me. Right now I only remember that what was talked about does answer many questions and for me that is success. So thank you.

WTM Admin

Thanks so much for your comment and for taking the initiative to re-watch THE Interview, Tammy. We strongly recommend repeated viewing of THE Interview, and Jeremy Griffith’s other Main Videos, because the more you digest this understanding, the more you realise that our psychologically upset human condition is behind all of the problems (bar natural events) that the world and its populations faces, and so if you solve the human condition, you change the world. Everything changes with this answer. We recommend our FAQ 1.6: Why does understanding of the human condition solve everything?

Andreas Mantzios

Magnificent!!!

JWT(John)Haswell

WOW! I’m so programmed! I need to put this into my subconscious! Every time I watch the video I start to smile... a lot!! The GUILT is lifting away leaving wonderful understanding!

Patrick

I am always amazed at how much information is packed in this interview. Understanding is a key element towards transformation Says Jeremy Griffith, Biologist and author of many books, essays to assist us on our journey.

Ron

The information shows promise, but the social construct will resist because of social ranking and race e.g. race is a social construct, not science. What you are proposing to a degree from science makes sense, but appears again to remove social ranking, or has an affect on social ranking considered a “norm.” Certainly, food for thought! ps: enjoyed what you proposed, to save humanity, a new paradigm provides another alternative and reasonable justification if enough moral conscious humans are will to have an “open mindset.”

Asseres Aboye

Interested to find out how we got here

WTM Admin

Thanks for your question Asseres and that’s exactly what THE interview explains and what our FAQ 1.3 provides a very brief summary of. When this is taken into account, it can be appreciated that this 1 hour interview is a very, very concise presentation so we encourage you to explore it.

Lia

I find these findings refreshing, at last we are open about the facts , tell me more! Thank you.

WTM Admin

Thanks Lia, it’s great to have your interest. This includes registering for our free, live, interactive events with Jeremy Griffith and others and joining our popular Facebook Group.

Jeannette Lawless

Humans need a new paradigm of thinking. My question is how can this new level of understanding be applied to change the corrupted condition that we find ourselves? Do humans need assessment and treatment of their genes and nerves?

WTM Admin

Yes we certainly need a new paradigm of thinking and that is what this critical new science provides and the effect of “this new level of understanding” is life-transforming! We do not need treatment of our genes because the human condition is not genetic. In Part 1 of THE Interview Jeremy Griffith explains all humans are born with an instinctive self or soul that is perfectly aligned to a cooperative and selfless way of living and that humans’ upset (angry, egocentric and alienated) behaviour is not a product of savage animal instincts within us, but the result of a universal psychosis caused by the unavoidable clash between our instinct and intellect. And, most significantly, as Part 4 explains a psychosis can be healed with understanding, so our psychologically upset human nature is fixable or changeable—not unchangeable.     It does take a little time to fully absorb the significance of finally being able to understand the human condition is the only “treatment” needed for us to be able to “change the corrupted condition that we find ourselves” in. For instance, we now have the ability, for the first time, to understand every aspect of human behaviour and our behaviour will change naturally as a result. At last we can understand we have been driven by a deep insecurity about our fundamental goodness or worth and so now that our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living. ‘Legitimately’ because at last we have the first principle-based science which liberates us to be honest about our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it. This is the rapidly transforming practical effect of being able to understand the human condition which is fully explained and illustrated on our Transformation page. Also FAQs 1.4 to 1.6 explain the far-reaching application of this explanation and Freedom Essay 15 is all about ‘How understanding the human condition can immediately transform your and every other human’s life and save the world’.

. Michael Burton

So when are you gonna tell us something we don’t already know

WTM Admin

Thanks for your feedback Michael. While various thinkers throughout history have recognised that our divisive, competitive and aggressive human condition is a product of a clash between our instincts and intellect, solving it required finding the clarifying explanation of the nature of that conflict, because only that could bring reconciling and transforming peace to our conflicted and divided selves, which is what biologist Jeremy Griffith has done, and what is unique about his work – see our FAQ 1.13.

Marion

Danke für diesen wunderbaren Schatz an Erkenntnissen! Ich wünsche mir, dass sich dieses Wissen schnell ausbreitet und in allen Bereichen des menschlichen Seins manifestiert. [Thank you for this wonderful treasure trove of insights! I wish that this knowledge spreads quickly and manifests in all areas of human existence (translated from German).]

Jacob Ilesanmi

Is an inspirational facts uplifting the body, soul and spirit

Osei Bonsu`

Amazing, unbearable truth.

WTM Admin

Thank you for your forthright comment Osei but as Jacob comments above ultimately this explanation is inspirational and uplifting of our whole being! Yes, having the human condition explained does expose the truth about our upset condition, but importantly, it doesn’t condemn us, rather it compassionately explain we are ‘good’ and not ‘bad’ for taking on the corrupting search for knowledge. Indeed, the explanation of the human condition is all redeeming, reconciling and rehabilitating! Along with re-watching THE Interview, we recommend you read Freedom Essay 15, which explains the Transformed State, which is the fabulous way we deal with the personal transparency and confronting nature of the human condition. As Jeremy writes in that Essay, “You and every other human can, as it were, put the issue of all your upsets/corruptions in a ‘suitcase’, attach a label to it saying ‘Everything in here is now explained and defended’, and simply leave that suitcase behind at the entrance to what we in the World Transformation Movement (WTM) call the Sunshine Highway, and set out unencumbered by all those upset behaviours into a new world that is effectively free of the human condition.” So the human condition is no longer an unbearably depressing subject as we can now bring great compassion and kindness to ourselves and others and significantly we don’t have to overly confront the upset within us. Also we recommend FAQ 1.39 ‘How are we supposed to cope with all the heretical truths brought to light by the explanation of the human condition?’

Lisa pittaro

We’ve been looking for a long time. Hopefully this will be an idea that may enlighten humanity.

Yes Lisa we have been looking for so long because we have intuitively known that if we can solve the human condition we can stop the suffering and destruction it has caused and that’s exactly what Jeremy Griffith’s work does! Ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why we are fundamentally good—answer the age-old question of why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents here. In summary, the eternal battle for humans has been to validate ourselves, establish once and for all that we are fundamentally good and not bad, and it’s that deepest and most important of all battles that has finally been won. Solving the human condition solves all the confusion, frustration and suffering in human life at its source, see FAQ 1.5 ‘Why is this important to my life’.

Amazing source of integral information that prompts you to stop in your tracks, question the actions we take, the behaviours we have and make the conscious choice in our mind to live in harmony with what is naturally right. Jeremy Griffith fulfills the role that our medical professionals have taken upon themselves. His interview has a representation of the power of our human advancements.

Yiannis Dovelos

Not a new concept. Read The “Origin of Consciousness in theBreakdown of the Bicameral Mind” by Julian James

WTM Admin

Thanks Yiannis. While Julian Jaynes and other thinkers have identified the elements of instinct and intellect involved in creating the human condition, none of them provide the great breakthrough clarifying explanation of the nature of the conflict between them, and without that explanation the conflict could not be resolved. This is explained in our FAQ 1.46 ‘What about Julian Jaynes’s theory of the Bicameral Mind?’ (this includes references to where Jeremy Griffith further discusses Jaynes’s theory) and also see FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this idea original or new?’

💯agreed to this interview I have been saying this since I was a child finally I hear it from a biologist wow I 💯 agreed because one can feel this conscious phenomenon it’s here on the our Mother Earth for existence only it’s inhuman if we continue to treat each other like savages we r still animals we can b stuck as human we need to progress to human being is very important 💯💯💯I thank for the reassuring my belief 2day I feel I can conquer stay blessed everyone

WTM Admin

Thanks Dilen for your enthusiastic response. Despite our competitive and selfish “savage” behaviour, we have always intuitively believed we were fundamentally good, but we have never been able to explain this contradictory, conflicted condition and this is the great breakthrough Jeremy Griffith’s work presents. As THE Interview explains all humans are born with all-loving moral instincts but now variously suffer from a psychosis due to the human condition caused by the conscious mind’s necessary search for knowledge. In Part 3 especially Jeremy evidences this key biological distinction that humans suffer from the conscious-mind-based, psychologically troubled human condition, not the genetic-opportunism-based, animal condition. And, most importantly, as Part 4 explains a psychosis can be healed with understanding, so our psychologically upset human nature is fixable or changeable—not unchangeable, which is what it would essentially be if our competitive and aggressive nature was instinctive; if it was something that is in our genes and we were born with. That is the power of this understanding — it brings a complete and permanent end to our insecurity-driven selfish behaviour, completely transforming all humans into secure and happy beings, which is further explained and illustrated on our Transformation page!

This information is still many light years away from reality. This is not the awakening, just noise. The main misperception is still embedded.

I just finished listening the video and I feel a peace I had never experienced before .. we are not monsters but heroes … wow ! Everyone must take an hour of their life to listen and learn this !

Danielin Ojeda

This book may be one of the best in the matter BUT I myself have another different idea what we The HUMAN RACE really needs to do for its SALVATION and REDEMPTION.

WTM Admin

Thanks for your comment Danielin. We are respectful of everyone’s beliefs, but do suggest that while religions contained extraordinary truth about human life, it was all from a pre-scientific view, and that ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that clarifying difference means we can now understand that we had to defy our instincts, which is why this great breakthrough is described as ‘redeeming’. It follows that by finding the good reason we had to defy our instincts, we can reconcile ourselves with them, because all our defensive behaviours (our anger, egocentricity and alienation) are now redundant. We no longer need them because we have the real defense for why we had to defy our instincts. We recommend reading FAQ 6.3 ‘Does this undermine religion?’ where it is explained that, “The great founding prophets of religion actually looked forward to the arrival of the reconciling understanding of the human condition—which means supporters of religion shouldn’t see Jeremy’s scientific demystification of religious teachings as blasphemy, but as religious fulfillment!”

I don’t think the proposition that human psychology evolved fractured and Hobbesian- competitive and violent- is a new science or evinces a science of psycology as a solution to the human condition. I think Jeremy needs to read Brecht and Huxley and maybe watch the film “The Grapes of Wrath.” Consider Buckminster Fuller. Consider Jaque Fresco. Consider Fred Hampton, Ella Baker, Dr. King, Einstein Instead of “All is Vanity” we have come to “All is Business.” Poverty is the root cause of all social problems. Poverty is unnecessary. Therin lies a collective moral imperitive. “First feed the face.” “To each according to need, from each according to ability.”

WTM Admin

THE Interview explains our soul or instinctive self is perfectly aligned to a cooperative and selfless way of living so that is innate in all humans but the critical question is why did we leave and corrupt that original loving state? Despite our competitive and selfish behaviour, we have always intuitively believed we were fundamentally good, but we have never been able to explain this contradictory, conflicted condition. Ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy Griffith presents here and his book FREEDOM. That is the great breakthrough presented here; see FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this original or new?’ as it explains the unique significance of Jeremy’s work.

1 big obstacle: the power of the rulers.. the world is very diveded so coming together as 1 People is very difficult. The rulers fear mankind uniting because it will end their game..

WTM Admin

THE Interview explains all humans are born with loving moral instincts but we all now variously suffer from a psychosis due to the human condition and that ‘rulers’ are just a manifestation of what we all suffer from. We suggest FAQ 1.40 ‘How can you hope to transform the world? / Won’t the greedy and power hungry simply ignore this?’ Fundamentally, having found the good reason that we had to defy our instincts means all our defensive, ‘bad’ behaviours (our anger, egocentricity and alienation) are now redundant. This is the essence of the transformation that this breakthrough makes available, and explains why it is available to all humans, no matter what their circumstances.

My query in no way contradicts Jeremy’s lucid and incredibly valuable thesis, but I do wonder how the bonobos cope/d with all the aggressive animals around them. Perhaps that’s something I should look into. And in a similar vein, did not. ‘Garden of Eden’ type humans necessarily develop aggressive behaviours to defend themselves from predators? Thank you for arousing. my curiosity.

WTM Admin

Thanks for the query Mack. As we touch on in our response to Ed Mason below, the development of the nurturing based love-indoctrination process requires ‘ideal nursery conditions’. As Jeremy explains in chapter 5:4 of his definitive book FREEDOM: “The successful nurturing of infants therefore required ample food, comfortable conditions and security from external threats over an extended period.” So what we find with bonobos, is that they simply do not have many predators. Of course there are snakes and leopards to some extent, but not to the extent that the love-indoctrination process was imperilled. It is clear, and the evidence is included in chapter 5 of FREEDOM, that our distant ape ancestors developed in a similar environment. Importantly, the further a species advances along the love-indoctrination process, the more selfless it becomes, and so threats would be dealt with selflessly i.e. members of the group would protect the group by putting the groups welfare above that of themselves.

Ed Mason

How does this hypothesis explain the need to kill and eat in order to survive. This isn’t cooperative and loving.

WTM Admin

Hi Ed. As Jeremy Griffith explains in THE Interview, genuinely cooperative, unconditionally selfless genetic traits are self-eliminating, and therefore cannot normally develop in animals i.e. they need to compete (or “kill and eat”) in order to survive — which means animals are not normally able to cooperate beyond situations of reciprocity or kin selection. However, as Jeremy explains in Part 3 of THE Interview, the selfish process of natural selection was able to create loving selflessness in our forebears through nurturing. Freedom Essay 21 and Chapter 5 of FREEDOM explain this ‘love-indoctrination’ process, as Jeremy has termed it, more fully, and in particular, it is explained in chapter 5.4 that love indoctrination required ideal nursery condition, and “This entailed uninterrupted access to food, shelter and territory, for if any element was compromised, or other difficulties and threats from predators excessive, then we can assume there would have been a strong inclination to revert to more selfish and competitive behaviour. The successful nurturing of infants therefore required ample food, comfortable conditions and security from external threats over an extended period.”
