Jeremy Griffith, Australian Biologist, has advanced Darwin’s Philosophy about human emotions, good or bad.
Paul
Panglossian, Pollyannaish, this to a certain extent may apply. Schopenhauer and Nietzsche have given insight into behaviour. Concepts of good: bad, virtue: vice, and Conservative: Liberal, are socio-political constructs. When we come into this world, there is no right or wrong, we must learn the mores of society for survival. The concepts of empirical hegemony, Nation-State, and Culture-Language, are in flux. There are many turning points in history. If the world’s population be considered a body, like all of biology it has its parasites. The caveat for social improvement is social involvement, vigilance, and hard work, there is no golden solution, it is ongoing.
WTM Admin
No, this is not overly optimistic. Upon digestion, what you will realise is that the ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition is not just another idealistic plea for everyone to behave cooperatively, but that it is a defence of ‘reality’; it is a defence of our angry, egocentric and alienated behaviour! The deeper question that needed to be answered was why, when the universal ideals are to be cooperative and loving are we so selfish? Why are there “parasites”? Our endeavours in philosophy, psychology and biology have failed, until now, to provide a truthful, real, fully accountable, genuinely clarifying explanation. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents here. And so this understanding defends our so-called ‘dark side’ and explains that despite all appearances to the contrary, all humans are ‘good’. And paradoxically, by explaining the very good reason why our intellect had to defy our instincts, it makes redundant our defensive behaviours of anger, egocentricity and alienation, allowing us to end the perpetuation of our destructive behaviour!

Very good interview, all of humanity needs to be made aware of this.
Drew Jorgensen
This will not solve the human condition. Here is the issue. From the Universe down to a single cell in our bodies, the complexity shows without question the existence of a Designer. Our human condition is that we were created in our Designer, God’s, image and were created for relationship with God. When Adam and Eve sinned we broke the relationship. Jesus sinless life and sacrifice in our place is God’s offer to restore our relationship and Jesus resurrection is His promise of eternal life. We have a choice, acknowledge God and accept His Son’s sacrifice for us or reject our obvious Creator and spend eternity separated from Him by the choice of our own free will.
WTM Admin
Thank you for your thoughts Drew. Jeremy Griffith’s work presents the breakthrough biological explanation of the underlying issue in all human affairs of the human condition, our species’ capacity for so-called ‘good’ and ‘evil’, or our ‘true’ and ‘false’ selves. While religious assurances such as ‘God loves you’ provided comfort, they failed to explain WHY we are lovable. Ultimately we needed to find the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work which THE Interview explains. We maintain that only by bringing reconciling understanding to our conflicted selves can we truly ameloriate and heal our psychological condition at its source. You may find our FAQs about how this reconciles science and religion and Jeremy’s Freedom Essay 39 ‘Christ explained’ of interest.
With regard to ‘Intelligent Design’, in THE Interview Jeremy Griffith refers to the Negative-Entropy-driven integrative meaning of existence, which he explains in depth in his definitive book FREEDOM, chapter 4 (see also FAQ 5.3 ‘What is the meaning of life? / What is the Integrative Meaning of existence? / What is God?’). In chapter 4:3 of FREEDOM, Jeremy also explains how the idea of Intelligent Design grew out of a need to counter mechanistic science’s denial of this integrative process, however, ultimately, through its reliance on divine intervention, Intelligent Design is unscientific. With the explanation of the human condition, however, it is now possible for science to recognise that integration drives the development of matter, including the advent of ‘life’.

Yes our survival depends on adapting a more lovable solution to mankind’s woes.as it is we are self destructive
WTM Admin
Hi Jymo, we certainly do need a solution to mankind’s woes as you say and at last we do. To solve the human condition we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when these universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. As THE Interview explains, leaving or transcending our psychologically upset condition wasn’t the solution to that question. Ultimately we needed to confront and explain the source condition, which is what Jeremy Griffith has done with the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work. For a brief summary of this explanation see FAQ 1.3 ‘What is biologist Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition?’ and FAQ 1.6 ‘How does understanding the human condition solve everything’.

Wonderful and insightful interview.
Leosimmortaltales
Nature, evolution instills instincts to survive, replicate and nurture offspring. But herd/tribal survival is enhanced by cooperative social instincts. And social survival can be further enhanced by intellect. Yet tribes/nations may clash in nature, cf. Jane Goodall. AND language/intellect/tech facilitate deceit and delusion of whole tribes or nations. Intellect includes ego, which can be self-deluded, obsessed or megalomanic. We seize on superstitous notions taught to comfort and control children and enshrine them as gospel to sustain gods and kings. Complex hunting, seafaring and war require absolute obedience which can be seized by priest-kings. Survivalism/tribalism are obsolete and perilous in an overburdened world.
WTM Admin
Thank you for your comment Leo. Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ biological treatise explains the underlying cause for our psychological upset state (our anger, egocentricity and alienation) is the ‘instinct vs intellect’ clash, not ‘survival, must-reproduce-our-genes’ instincts within us. Rather than having “instincts to survive, replicate and nurture offspring” he explains that humans acquired selfess, all-loving and cooperative instincts. As we know unconditionally selfless genetic traits are self-eliminating, and therefore cannot normally develop in animals—which means animals are not normally able to cooperate beyond situations of reciprocity or kin selection. Part of the brilliance of Jeremy’s treatise is he explains how humans biologically overcame this genetic limitation through what he identifies as the ‘love-indoctrination’ process. This is summarised in our FAQ 5.2 ‘How did we humans acquire our all-loving, unconditionally selfless moral conscience?’ which includes links to where Jeremy explains this in greater detail. Also, our FAQ 7.3 explains in more detail why the ‘group selection’ biology being used to supposedly explain humans’ cooperative instincts (actually ‘selfish’ instincts) is false. Disproving ‘group selection’ as flawed and dishonest biology also disproves the idea that it is the source of ‘tribalism’. No, the parsimonious, and if we think profoundly about our situation, obvious explanation for all our delusions, egomania, need to control others, and clashes betwween tribes/nations, is that we are psychologically upset sufferers of the human condition. If you haven’t watch THE Interview that is the best place to start and both these FAQs are absolutely fascinating so we hope you explore them.

WTM Admin
Thank you for your comment Charlotte and you might find our brief FAQ 1.3 ‘What is biologist Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition?’ helpful. Also THE Interview has been translated into Danish here on our website. We are sorry to hear of your ADHA which must be very challenging especially when trying to explore new information. Basically the core breakthrough of Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition is we no longer have to be burdened by the fundamental question of whether we are good or bad because our core goodness as individuals and as a species has been biologically established. We can know our psychological upset was the price humans had to pay for searching for knowledge and that the human story presents the greatest, most heroic story ever told. So we can now look after ourselves and others with great compassion and kindness and we don’t have to overly confront the upset within us as our FAQ 1.19 ‘A caution about the danger of over-exposure / Advice for people with mental health issues’ explains so that is important for you to read. Take care of yourself Charlotte and we send our very best wishes.

hello, I have progressed to p.79 of FREEDOM.... and is all fully clear to me.... it is a plea for the unconditional love which lies at the core/foundation of our existence, our genes and in the Universe, for me for you God.... to me these revelations can be considered the 3rd Testament .... I am confident when I say that according to ( the Gospel of) Mary Magdalene this is exactly what Jesus meant with His Words and is affirmed by all of the mistics and ancient teachings: do not seek outside of yourselves but go within.... people are sitting on the doorstep looking out and staring into the void, whereas the Truth lies within.... own your own shadow, and believe in the sin-free existence of your inner soul corrupted by the ego made sick by society and life itself... go cleanse yourself of the self-constructed guilt and be FREE... I wish to direct my gratefulness to Craig and Jeremy and YouTube’s alghoritim that placed me on this path.... being the perfect extension of my spiritual journey through this earthly existence, and right in time.... a celebration of synchronicity, as this next step on my path exactly matches what I am experiencing in my daily life... me All (Light)beings dwell in the Eternal Love & Light 💟💞🙏💞💟 Sat Nam dear Souls 🛐⚛🕉✡☯✝☦☮🕎🔯 Namasté
WTM Admin
Hi Erwin, thank you for your heartfelt thoughts. Since what is being introduced is a new scientific paradigm, based on confronting rather than the historic practice of avoiding the issue of the human condition, it does require some digestion time to fully absorb so it is wonderful you are reading Jeremy Griffith’s main book FREEDOM. Yes as THE Interview explains all humans are born with unconditionally selfless or loving instincts but we all now variously suffer from a psychosis or a ‘shadow’ brought about by the conscious mind’s necessary yet corrupting search for knowledge. So our current ‘sick’ ‘corrupted’ state and inability to love unconditionally has been a result of our heroic but immensely upsetting search for knowledge and through that compassionate defence of our upset we can legimately and consciously return to our cooperative and loving origins! ‘Legitimately’ because at last we have the first principle-based science which liberates us to look ‘within’ or be honest or about our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it. This critical difference between Jeremy’s work and new age movements is explained in THE Interview and further deal with in FAQ 6.5 ‘Is this just another self-help, New Age, pseudo idealistic, superficial-treatment-of-psychosis type movement?’. Also, as you seem to be sensing, Jeremy’s work represents a reconciliation of science and religion. While religions contain all manner of truths about human life, it is all from a pre-scientific view. You may find FAQ 1.15 ‘If this is biology why are there religious references’ of interest as it explains the human condition is the realm of inquiry where science and religion overlap, so naturally in explaining the human condition religious references will be used, and through scientific explanation, finally demystified and reconciled. Ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents and why it is so transformative. Thanks again Erwin and we are grateful you found THE Interview and are exploring this incredible new landscape of knowledge!

SDub313 aka Spiritual soldier
As a former atheist and Truth Seeker I was led to Jesus Christ! The evidence is overwhelming! And The Human Condition is the Fallen state that we live in! The cure to this Human Condition is in the truth the way in the life our Lord Jesus Christ! I used to not believe I went about it through scientific research. I research archeology, paleontology, every type of History every other religion ,and all truth points to Jesus Christ!
WTM Admin
We certainly respect people’s religious views SDub313 and Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition doesn’t actually contradict a belief in God or Christianity. It simply brings biological understanding to all those pre-scientific concepts. In fact, Jeremy considers the Bible to be a repository of extremely rare denial-free truth about human life albeit from that pre-scientific view.
For instance, as Jeremy explains in Part 2 of THE Interview, “the Biblical story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden that Moses wrote so long ago in about 1,500 BC actually perfectly describes the psychologically upsetting battle that emerged between our instincts and conscious intellect. It says Adam and Eve/we humans took the ‘fruit’ (Genesis 3:3) ‘from the tree of knowledge’ (Gen. 2:9, 17) and were ‘disobedient’ (the term widely used in descriptions of Gen. 3). In other words, we developed a conscious mind and free will. But in that pre-scientific story it says Adam and Eve then became ‘evil’ (Gen. 3:22) perpetrators of ‘sin’ (Gen. 4:7) because they became angry, egocentric and alienated, and as a result Moses said they were ‘banished…from the Garden of Eden’ (Gen. 3:23) state of cooperative and loving innocence.” With the benefit of science, thankfully we can now explain that they, we humans, weren’t bad at all; in fact, we are the heroes of the story of life on Earth!
In dealing with such a historically difficult subject for us humans, these biological explanations of the human condition are, by nature, very confronting and although ultimately represent a fulfilment of religion (as explained in our FAQs about religion), they do demystify religious concepts which some people can find very challenging, so for those interested in exploring this further we encourage everyone to take their time investigating what’s being presented.
Although this is science, it is based on a Godly nature in the sense of recognising, like all the great religions do, that we humans once lived in a pre-human-condition-afflicted state of original innocence where we were perfectly instinctively orientated to the cooperative, selfless, loving, ‘Godly’ ideals of life, a state that we subsequently ‘corrupted’ with the emergence of free will; ‘God’ being explained as the integrative meaning of life, see FAQ 6.2 ‘What is the meaning of life? / What is the Integrative Meaning of existence? / What is God?’; we also recommend FAQ 6.3 ‘Does this undermine religion/God?’. The difference being that we can now with the benefit of science, bring clarifying, first-principle biological explanation to our so-called ‘good and evil’-afflicted human condition and why we had to depart from our original innocence, whilst religion had to rely on metaphor and a more literal interpretation. Jeremy has written about Christ’s life and its phenomenal importance in humanity’s journey in Freedom Essay 39.
Also what is so significant and powerful about this breakthrough explanation is it is completely reconciling of all the dualities that the human condition has caused including believers and non-believers. Having been unable, until now, to explain the human condition—understand our species’ capacity for what has been called ‘good and evil’—the human race has been left with a deep, subconscious sense of insecurity and even guilt about our fundamental worth, leaving us no choice but to live in near total denial of the issue and take up a strategy to prove our self-worth. Until we could scientifically explain why we are good after all some people relied on dogmatic and religious assurances about their fundamental goodness and for others complete denial of God became the only acceptable option.

Bill Brenne
This assumes that society is an ideal form of human aggregation, when it’s only a stopgap measure to try to deal with overpopulation.
WTM Admin
Hi Bill, thanks for your comment. Jeremy Griffith explains in this interview explains all humans are born with loving, cooperative instincts but now variously suffer from a psychosis due to the human condition caused by the conscious mind’s necessary search for knowledge. So we can at last understand WHY as a species we have become so psychologically upset—angry, egocentric and alienated—as to nearly destroy our own planet. As WTM FAQ 1.6 ‘How does understanding the human condition solve everything?’ explains, all the problems in the world like overpopulation, environmental devastation, genocide, terrorism, mass displacement of peoples, starvation, runaway diseases, gross inequality, ‘racial’ and gender oppression, polarised politics, rampant corruption and other crimes, drug abuse, family breakdown, and epidemic levels of obesity, chronic anxiety, depression, unhappiness and loneliness etc etc, are all symptoms of a deeper problem. So to truly solve the world’s problems we need to address and fix the underlying issue responsible for these problems, the human condition —our corrupted, psychologically upset state. Only the psychosis-addressing-and-solving, real explanation of the human condition can stop the destruction of our world and the disintegration of society that is happening everywhere we look, and this is precisely what biologist Jeremy Griffith has delivered with his first principle-based biological understanding of the human condition. As well as Part 1 of THE Interview, a brief summary of this understanding can be found in Video/Freedom Essay 3.
Dr Lynne M. Benelli
with the current political tension here in the US, this book has given me hope, that one way or another, humans will either evolve or another global cataclysm will surely eradicate the problem.
WTM Admin
Thank you for your thoughts Dr Benelli and it is wonderful Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition brings you hope. It is immensely relieving as it allows us to understand the real merits and liabilities of both the left and right wing. His work certainly recognises the destructive brutality of the right-wing; indeed he brings understanding to the whole extremely destructive angry, egocentric and alienated human condition. He also recognises the failing of the Left, which is that its dogmatic insistence on cooperative, selfless and loving behaviour stifled and oppressed the freedom of expression and individualism needed to find knowledge, ultimately self-knowledge, the redeeming understanding of our seemingly destructive human condition that thankfully he has now found and presents in his book FREEDOM. Basically his work brings profound understanding to both sides, which ultimately brings to an end the whole ugly business of politics. This is fully explained in our FAQs about politics on our website.

Brilliant
Rupeni b Mataitoga
Greed is destroying our lives ,we should share and care.
WTM Admin
Hi Rupeni, what is so extraordinary about this breakthrough is that we can now understand the fundamental reason why people want more than they need and don’t “share and care”; we can now understand the source of our greed and selfishness, and more generally, materialism. When the conscious mind went in search of knowledge a conflict between our instinct and intellect broke out, leading to an undeserved sense of guilt and insecurity that caused us to become psychologically defensive, angry, alienated and egocentric — the upset state we refer to as the human condition, a state we sought to alleviate through a competitive, selfish and aggressive bid for the reinforcement we could gain from winning power, fame, fortune and glory. This is the underlying source of our greed. But now that we can explain and understand this conflict and the guilt and insecurity it produced, all those defensive behaviours are obsoleted, brought to an end, and we free ourselves from the human condition, see our FAQ 1.6 ‘Why does understanding the human condition solve everything?’.

Thankyou for this video, it explains very well the human condition and takes away stigma of mental health and teaches even mental health workers we are not leopards who can’t change our spots...
This should be played to new and old mental health workers...
WTM Admin
Thank you, Rachel. Yes, as Jeremy Griffith explains in THE Interview, all humans suffer from the universal psychosis caused by the clash between our instinct and intellect. We became angry, egocentric and alienated or in a word ‘upset’, so all humans, to varying degrees, suffer from the human condition and therefore have mental health issues. Our psychological upset was the price humans had to pay for searching for knowledge, so it is not ‘bad’ or to be looked down upon, it is just a sign that we have been through the all-important battle, and so it does completely remove the “stigma of mental health”.
And, as psychiatrist Professor Harry Prosen, a former President of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, wrote: “the beauty of Griffith’s treatise is that the healing starts at the macro level of the universal human condition; the healing of the shame and blame that the whole human race has suffered from…It brings the greater context and love to all human psychosis and suffering, and then, from under the umbrella of that safe position, everyone can gradually work inwards to their particular experience of all the imperfections in human life that have now, finally, been made sense of” — see FAQ 1.34 ‘How does understanding the human race’s condition help with an individual’s depression and psychosis?’ and also FAQ 1.35 on ‘Does this heal anxiety?’.

What was said is true but it is not new. The From Theosophy to Christianity there is a belief that we all have a higher and lower nature which often conflict.
WTM Admin
While it takes some time to digest, we suggest that what is unique about Jeremy Griffith’s work is that he has answered the essential question of why, when the universal ideals are to be integrative are we so disintegrative? Our endeavours in philosophy, psychology and biology have failed, until now, to provide a truthful, real, fully accountable, genuinely clarifying explanation. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents here. We suggest FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this original or new?’ and Video/Freedom Essay 4 which expands further on other thinkers (both ancient and contemporary) who have recognised instinct and intellect elements involved in creating the human condition.

I found the interview inspiring. If we can get millions of ppl to listen and realize that every one should be respectful & caring, it would definitely make the world tremendously better for everyone. Thank you so much.

We are knowing about the human development how it can be improved. I am thinking about the rehabilitation project of psychiatry patients. I think that this will give a way for them to live with dignity.
WTM Admin
Yes! As the distinguished psychiatrist Professor Harry Prosen (a former President of the Canadian Psychiatric Association) said: “What Griffith is presenting is understanding of the source insecurity that the whole human race suffers from for having destroyed our species’ innocent soul. It is a universal self-blame that his understanding at last provides healing insight into. All human behavior is saturated with that universal insecure, depressing state and resulting anger, egocentricity and alienation that has developed from it, but we finally have the compassionate foundation insight needed to dismantle all that ‘upset’/psychosis. So the real psychotherapy of our collective and individual psychoses can begin”.

In any of what I’ve heard here, the same arguments can arise in virtually any subject we come across as humans.
WTM Admin
We aren’t entirely sure what you mean about the ‘same arugments arising’, however, we suggest that while there have been many ‘arguments’ put forward about human behaviour throughout history, ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents in THE Interview and his book FREEDOM. We suggest FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this original or new?’ which explains the unique significance of Jeremy Griffith’s work.

I’ve been waiting so long for someone out there to come up with a good explanation about the human Condition.

Your video helped me understand the racing emotion that I have been feeling in all long. I just thought I was crazy and outsider.

It’s a personal human privilege to choose whether you continued on or stop and think!
It is a great huge and a very difficult responsibility to play God!
Thank you. I enjoyed listening to your discussions and opinions.
WTM Admin
Yes, being given the power of free will was “a very difficult responsibility”! Using the Adam Stork story, we can now understand that in order to master or champion our free will the conscious mind had to defy or ignore our all-loving instincts, perfectly aligned as they were with the ‘Godly’ ideals of life, and it was this defiance of our instincts that resulted in humans becoming angry, egocentric and alienated — the psychological upset state of our human condition.
Ronda Love Sanders
I have been pondering this for a long time and have prayed about it. Thank you for your insight into the conscious mind of us humans. Thanks to TMH for leading me to the answers I seek.
WTM Admin
Thanks Ronda. Yes, Jeremy Griffith’s work doesn’t exclude or contradict a belief in God, or Christianity. It simply brings biological understanding to all those pre-scientific concepts. In fact, Jeremy considers the Bible to be a repository of extremely rare denial-free truth, containing all the truth about human life albeit from a pre-science view. Although this is science, it is based on a ‘Godly’ nature in the sense of recognising, like all the great religions do, that we humans once lived in a pre-human-condition-afflicted state of original innocence where we were perfectly instinctively orientated to the cooperative, selfless, loving, ‘Godly’ ideals of life; ‘God’ being explained as being the personification of integrative meaning of life; see Freedom Essay 23. People might find our FAQs about religion of interest, especially FAQs ‘What is God’ and ‘Does this understanding undermine religion’.

This clear explanation of the human condition, in the sense of what was felt several thousands years ago about the conflict between instinct and thinking, is remarkably instructive.
I welcome also this clear reply and rejection of the instinct concepts which obscured so much in psychology and in behavior ‘engineering’.
At the same time, I do not share so much the optimism that such a view alone will save mankind from the destruction it is facing, because we have built a social structure that maintains mankind in a state of avoidance to think.
Then it is very strange to blame someone as K. Marx for ideas which he saw as a consequence of the human evolution he anticipated as the natural course of history, given the then actual conditions of mankind since medieval times.
I feel that that is contradictory to your goal to have mankind liberate itself, as this person Marx was among those that recognize that same goal and that supported it.
WTM Admin
Thanks for your thoughts LeoG. Certainly it will take generations to completely heal the human race, but as Jeremy says in Freedom Essay 15, “...it is not a revolution that involves warfare and bloodshed like so many revolutions in the past, but a peaceful revolution that is driven by irrefutable knowledge/understanding. We humans are conscious beings and what consciousness needs is understanding, and now we have it. Ultimately, we humans respond to knowledge—anything less was bound to be ineffective. This is the real and lasting transformation that the human race has lived in hope, faith and trust would one day occur. It is the revolution of our minds.”
Regarding Marx and left wing constructs such as communism, as Jeremy points out in his definitive book FREEDOM, “Karl Marx, the political theorist whose mid-nineteenth century ideas gave rise to socialism and communism, argued that ‘The philosophers have only interpreted the world in various ways; the point is [not to understand the world but] to change it.’ By ‘change it’ Marx meant just make it cooperative or social or communal, but he was wrong—the whole ‘point’ and responsibility of being a conscious being is to understand our world and place in it, ultimately to find understanding of the human condition. The attraction—and inherent lie—of socialism/communism was that you could support and live the ideals without acknowledging the reality of the human condition and its struggle.” We recommend our FAQs about politics.
WTM Admin
With regards to politics, we recommend Jeremy Griffith’s book, Death by Dogma, which is freely available here on our homepage. Jeremy Griffith’s work opens up a new way of thinking so it takes a little time to fully absorb this new paradigm – and the human condition does present the ultimate paradox! The biological ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition allows us to understand the real merits and liabilities of both the left and right wing. His work identifies that the problem of the right-wing is its destructiveness, however, through its support of egocentricity and selfishness, it does encourage the search for knowledge to continue. However the left wing’s insistence on ideal behaviour had the effect of oppressing and thus regressing, not ‘progressing’, the all-important search for knowledge. Most importantly, this understanding brings a profound understanding to both sides which ultimately will bring an end to the whole ugly business of politics. This is fully explained in our FAQs about politics.

This is confusing in the extreme. In the same ballpark as Yuval Noah Harrari. The presumption that we are first and foremost a body is delusional. The soul is everlasting, but the body is of short duration, yet we behave as if it is the main point.
WTM Admin
Thanks for your thoughts Roger. Jeremy Griffith’s treatise is very different to the work of Yuval Noah Harari (author of Sapiens) who, among other huge dissimilarities, doesn’t recognise our instinctive heritage as being all-loving and cooperative but rather promotes the savage instincts excuse for our psychological upset that Jeremy discusses in THE Interview. And as Jeremy explains in Part 1, “it is actually really good news that our behaviour is due to a conscious-mind-based psychologically troubled condition because psychoses can be healed with understanding”.
And relevantly, because Jeremy has finally explained that our instinctive heritage is all-loving and cooperative, we can finally see that it and soul are one and the same! So, we suggest, if people take time to explore our work they will realise just how comprehensive and all-encompassing Jeremy’s explanation is of our soul! For instance FAQ 1.26 ‘What is soul, have we all got one, has it been repressed, and if so, how do we rehabilitate it?’ reveals exactly what our soul is and it’s significance.

If we could amicably aggree and make things as easy as explained in the interview, the world will be wonderful. No suffering, no anger, no frustration and no poverty. All will be peace and the human condition will get better and better. No psychological illnesses no stress, the list continues. Thank you
WTM Admin
Take heart Victor because as you can see from the daily ecstatic responses on our homepage, the relief and excitement of finally be able to make sense of human life is turning into a tidal wave of world-saving support!! As Part 4 of THE Interview and FAQ 1.40 ‘How can you hope to transform the world?’ explain, while the world is fast approaching a point of no return, this understanding will turn things around incredibly quickly, because it explains and solves our psychological upset which is the underlying cause of all our suffering, anger, selfishness and inequality. Milton Baez
Thank you for deepening my understanding of the human condition. It’s priceless to me. The only thing I disagree with is your criticism of socialism. I think that socialism critical view of capitalism, pointing to cooperativism and not individualism help us arrive at the understanding of the human condition that you so ably have constructed and are teaching us.
WTM Admin
Hi Milton and thank you for your comment. Being able to understand the human condition is priceless as you say but it introduces an entirely new framework of knowledge, a massive paradigm shift in how we view humans, which takes time to absorb some aspects of the explanation. For instance, regarding Socialism, Jeremy explains that while it is of course important to look after the less fortunate in our society, the limitation of Socialism is that it seeks to bring about a just, cooperative society by simply and dogmatically demanding an idealistic social or communal world without acknowledging the reality of the human condition and the unjust but necessary struggle it created. As Jeremy points out in his definition book FREEDOM, “Karl Marx, the political theorist whose mid-nineteenth century ideas gave rise to socialism and communism, argued that ‘The philosophers have only interpreted the world in various ways; the point is [not to understand the world but] to change it.’ By ‘change it’ Marx meant just make it cooperative or social or communal, but he was wrong—the whole ‘point’ and responsibility of being a conscious being is to understand our world and place in it, ultimately to find understanding of the human condition. The attraction — and inherent lie — of socialism/communism was that you could support and live the ideals without acknowledging the reality of the human condition and its struggle” (chapter 8:16K). We recommend our FAQs about politics, which we think you will find most helpful as they explain how this all-reconciling understanding of human behaviour brings an end to the necessary but ugly world of politics.
Francis Di Mora
Not saying a thing that the Masters of India have said for centures!
WTM Admin
Hi Francis, great wisdom can be found in some spiritual teaching, but ultimately our thinking mind needed understanding — specifically, scientific understanding of why when the ideals are to be loving and selfless are we so competitive and selfish? This age old question has never been answered and that is what Jeremy Griffith’s treatise does and why it is heralded as the breakthrough that can save the world. We recommend FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this idea original or new? / How does biologist Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition differ from other theories that recognise these elements?’ which explains the originality of his work and also FAQ 6.5 which explains the difference between Jeremy’s explanation and new age spirituality.

This is just what I needed.
Jeremy Griffith, Australian Biologist, has advanced Darwin’s Philosophy about human emotions, good or bad.
We won’t need Mars afterall.
Thanks for the interview. It is amazing.
The outcome has to be transformative.
That is mind blowing!!! Thank You for Sharing. God Bless You

Very informative , great information.
Very good interview, all of humanity needs to be made aware of this.
With the explanation of the human condition, however, it is now possible for science to recognise that integration drives the development of matter, including the advent of ‘life’.Very interesting indeed
Nice commendation
Yes Sarki Professor Harry Prosen’s commendation is astonishing!! As he says “THE most important interview of all time” — no wonder this presentation is called ‘THE Interview’! Beautiful, thank you for sharing so much🙏🌺
Yes our survival depends on adapting a more lovable solution to mankind’s woes.as it is we are self destructive

WOW!!! At 82 years old I have been a seeker since the 60's of many different pathes but this interview has brought so much of what I have been dealing together... I can’t wait to learn more!!
Brilliant ! on the spot. Thanks a million for clarity & insightfulness. Have a lovely day from Brittany, France.
I’m so happy to know there is a way to heal the human condition. I would like to learn how I can share this with the world.
Thanks Diane, yes we all need to share and celebrate this critical new science as much as we possibly can! Everything on the WTM website is freely available to share, including THE Interview where there is a ‘SHARE’ button underneath the video player at the top of the homepage HumanCondition.com. As well all our publications include a share button along with the other options for audio, downloading, printing, translations, commenting etc.
I’ve always thought this but couldn’t believe it was true.
So awakening. I hope this first hand human condition transformation will start with me. And of course you reading this comment will do the same as it takes us, you and I to transform the world. Thank you so much for this valuable information.
Very interesting
Absolute Truth.
Isn’t there any quick way of telling about this theory? I have tried once and once again to get through the video, but I drift of.i have adhd and it seems to be impossible for me keeping my attention. I have adhd. It’s now a couple of years ago I tried first time, I’ve been spammed every now and then, and naturally I’m curious. Best regards Charlotte, Copenhagen Denmark (Danish is my motherlanguage)
So educative, How I wish I could listen to it more and more. Further to that, being taught by him. My wish is also that everyone in my family could listen to this interview. Thank you.
hello, I have progressed to p.79 of FREEDOM.... and is all fully clear to me.... it is a plea for the unconditional love which lies at the core/foundation of our existence, our genes and in the Universe, for me for you God.... to me these revelations can be considered the 3rd Testament ....
I really appreciate Mr. Jeremy Griffith for enlightening us and giving us what he’s got
Wow
I am learning so much & will watch this video again to take it ALL in. Thank you
As a former atheist and Truth Seeker I was led to Jesus Christ!
In dealing with such a historically difficult subject for us humans, these biological explanations of the human condition are, by nature, very confronting and although ultimately represent a fulfilment of religion (as explained in our FAQs about religion), they do demystify religious concepts which some people can find very challenging, so for those interested in exploring this further we encourage everyone to take their time investigating what’s being presented.Although this is science, it is based on a Godly nature in the sense of recognising, like all the great religions do, that we humans once lived in a pre-human-condition-afflicted state of original innocence where we were perfectly instinctively orientated to the cooperative, selfless, loving, ‘Godly’ ideals of life, a state that we subsequently ‘corrupted’ with the emergence of free will; ‘God’ being explained as the integrative meaning of life, see FAQ 6.2 ‘What is the meaning of life? / What is the Integrative Meaning of existence? / What is God?’; we also recommend FAQ 6.3 ‘Does this undermine religion/God?’. The difference being that we can now with the benefit of science, bring clarifying, first-principle biological explanation to our so-called ‘good and evil’-afflicted human condition and why we had to depart from our original innocence, whilst religion had to rely on metaphor and a more literal interpretation. Jeremy has written about Christ’s life and its phenomenal importance in humanity’s journey in Freedom Essay 39.Also what is so significant and powerful about this breakthrough explanation is it is completely reconciling of all the dualities that the human condition has caused including believers and non-believers. Until we could scientifically explain why we are good after all some people relied on dogmatic and religious assurances about their fundamental goodness and for others complete denial of God became the only acceptable option.Intestino. Worth to follón.

It’s amazing interview. So much informative content very beneficial.I learned a lot.
This assumes that society is an ideal form of human aggregation, when it’s only a stopgap measure to try to deal with overpopulation.
As well as Part 1 of THE Interview, a brief summary of this understanding can be found in Video/Freedom Essay 3.
with the current political tension here in the US, this book has given me hope, that one way or another, humans will either evolve or another global cataclysm will surely eradicate the problem.
George from Hungary. Love this anduction. Our no;1 problem is ;;—til know We had no time to to think no time to learn the lengthy explanations ,the eye opening’s you give us . I do recommend to everyone to take time to hear or read this , to be able absorbing the LECTURE 2025/jan /25
Excellent recommendation George to take time watching or reading explanation of the human condition. The fundamental explanation is very simple, and eye-opening as you say, but it does open up the historically off-limits subject of the human condition so it does take time to fully absorb. Wonderful to have your interest George!
Brilliant
Greed is destroying our lives ,we should share and care.
I want to share this with people for the greater good. Thank you!
Brilliant discourse, l want to listen again and again for excellent understanding.
I would be happy to read this interview and more if possible. Thanks beforehand.

Good job. It’s worth listening. An eye opener
Mind blowing interview A different dimension in saving the world
An eye opener! Many unanswered questions will get answers from this breakthrough.
Informative and interesting
I keep seeing this often on the internet lately and when turned on my iPhone tonight it was there. And I decided to share it on my Facebook, especially for myself.
Great information. Thank You.
I am a retired teacher. Am now trying to make some sense of my interactions with my students. I wish I had sighted this interview whilst I was still teaching.
Thankyou for this video, it explains very well the human condition and takes away stigma of mental health and teaches even mental health workers we are not leopards who can’t change our spots... This should be played to new and old mental health workers...
Our psychological upset was the price humans had to pay for searching for knowledge, so it is not ‘bad’ or to be looked down upon, it is just a sign that we have been through the all-important battle, and so it does completely remove the “stigma of mental health”.And, as psychiatrist Professor Harry Prosen, a former President of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, wrote: “the beauty of Griffith’s treatise is that the healing starts at the macro level of the universal human condition; the healing of the shame and blame that the whole human race has suffered from…It brings the greater context and love to all human psychosis and suffering, and then, from under the umbrella of that safe position, everyone can gradually work inwards to their particular experience of all the imperfections in human life that have now, finally, been made sense of” — see FAQ 1.34 ‘How does understanding the human race’s condition help with an individual’s depression and psychosis?’ and also FAQ 1.35 on ‘Does this heal anxiety?’.I do not have the talent to express my thoughts in English. But I think this will help humans to get together and go for a non political party of the world in the leadership of Scientst to have a world upliftment movement.
Finally something worth to listen, love it
This is a beautiful explanation. I will read his book “Freedom” Thank you

This is going to be a game changer. I can’t wait.
Nearly watched entire video, but as soon as he got political, blaming “the Left” for mankind’s problem, I shut him off. As a biologist he should know better: nature doesn’t discriminate between right/left or independent. Politics has no place in biology.
Biologist Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition allows us to understand the real merits and liabilities of both the left and right wing. This is fully explained in our FAQs about politics.
I am very much interested in transformation of humanity...Thank-you
This is great.
What a great explanation of the human behavior. People need to listen and learn from it including every World leader, it is worth to know who truly we are. Thank you Jeremy and the operator
What was said is true but it is not new. The From Theosophy to Christianity there is a belief that we all have a higher and lower nature which often conflict.
This is a most important information that I truly grateful to hear. Seriously I love to stay in contact with you, thank you so much.
Excellent
After listening to the interview MANY times and as a Christian I find This interview having such profound impact on my life more than anything else. I can now read the Bible with understanding! Mostly is of WHO AM I!!
I see now
Nothing new or interesting In any of what I’ve heard here, the same arguments can arise in virtually any subject we come across as humans.
Awesome, life might still have a good choice /chance
I’ve been waiting so long for someone out there to come up with a good explanation about the human Condition.
Your video helped me understand the racing emotion that I have been feeling in all long. I just thought I was crazy and outsider.
It’s a personal human privilege to choose whether you continued on or stop and think! It is a great huge and a very difficult responsibility to play God! Thank you. I enjoyed listening to your discussions and opinions.
I have been pondering this for a long time and have prayed about it. Thank you for your insight into the conscious mind of us humans. Thanks to TMH for leading me to the answers I seek.
It is the revolution of our minds.” Regarding Marx and left wing constructs such as communism, as Jeremy points out in his definitive book FREEDOM, “Karl Marx, the political theorist whose mid-nineteenth century ideas gave rise to socialism and communism, argued that ‘The philosophers have only interpreted the world in various ways; the point is [not to understand the world but] to change it.’ By ‘change it’ Marx meant just make it cooperative or social or communal, but he was wrong—the whole ‘point’ and responsibility of being a conscious being is to understand our world and place in it, ultimately to find understanding of the human condition. The attraction—and inherent lie—of socialism/communism was that you could support and live the ideals without acknowledging the reality of the human condition and its struggle.” We recommend our FAQs about politics.
I’m truly grateful for what you are talking. I want stay in contact with you, thank you very much
That’s great to hear Kelly - please see our reply below to Karia about how to stay in contact and participate in the incredible discussion about how this critical new science frees us from the human condition!

This is an eye opener brilliant
Love it
Excellent
Fascinating, the information shared falls in line with what I know and have learned from many different source; biology, psychology, religion, and my own personal frustrations and questions... Wow!!
You open my eyes and now I exactly know what to do now in my life
Very insightful.
This is confusing in the extreme. In the same ballpark as Yuval Noah Harrari. The presumption that we are first and foremost a body is delusional. The soul is everlasting, but the body is of short duration, yet we behave as if it is the main point.
And as Jeremy explains in Part 1, “it is actually really good news that our behaviour is due to a conscious-mind-based psychologically troubled condition because psychoses can be healed with understanding”.And relevantly, because Jeremy has finally explained that our instinctive heritage is all-loving and cooperative, we can finally see that it and soul are one and the same! So, we suggest, if people take time to explore our work they will realise just how comprehensive and all-encompassing Jeremy’s explanation is of our soul! For instance FAQ 1.26 ‘What is soul, have we all got one, has it been repressed, and if so, how do we rehabilitate it?’ reveals exactly what our soul is and it’s significance.Very stimulating, edifying & fururistic in terms of directing knowlwdge acqusition toward the everprogressing frontiers of expanding human developments & search for more enlightenment ,likely to make the world more hollisitic & wholesome. I hope to keep listening to it again & again & sharing it to others ; groups or individuals
Awesome!
Amazing point of view, very timely..
If we could amicably aggree and make things as easy as explained in the interview, the world will be wonderful. No suffering, no anger, no frustration and no poverty. All will be peace and the human condition will get better and better. No psychological illnesses no stress, the list continues. Thank you
Take heart Victor because as you can see from the daily ecstatic responses on our homepage, the relief and excitement of finally be able to make sense of human life is turning into a tidal wave of world-saving support!! We also recommend reading Freedom Essay 15: ‘How your life can immediately be transformed’. You can also see our growing network of 80 WTM Centres all around the world here — to contact the WTM Centre nearest to you see FAQ 3.3. Also come and join the over 70,000 members on our WTM Facebook Group and discuss and celebrate this astonishing new understanding of ourselves!!!!!
Not saying a thing that the Masters of India have said for centures!
I am so interested in this platform...
Great surprise it is to hear clearly the truth behind the present human condition.
Fascinating examination and commentary of human behavior
