This is awesome. I’ve been for 50 years trying to understand this human condition. I’ve written essays that were never published, I’ve thought about it for so long, and researched it for so long I never got complete understanding, and I’m hoping I will get it here. Thank you

Norgly Simon

l am yet to compare it with other Religious books. lt could service the present ethos! #Voluntary Community Psycho-Socio Therapist*

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Hi Norgly, Thanks for your question. To assist in your comparison, we wanted to say that Jeremy Griffith’s work brings biological understanding to many concepts contained religious scripture; in particular he considers the Bible a repository of extremely rare denial-free truth about human life, albeit from a pre-scientific view. But he explains that ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless, are we humans so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents in THE Interview. What Jeremy is putting forward is that for there to be a fundamental change in our human situation we had to understand the human condition – humans’ capacity for good and evil – from a biological perspective. We recommend reading our FAQs about religion, as they may be of interest to you.

Very interested topic disagree in some respects. But nevertheless, the interesting and lot of insights about human behavior

Jack

Excellent!

Maro Ledaki

I’ve heard it again and again, very interesting.

Noddy Wally

I am quite appreciative of the indepth research and analysis of this extraordinary study into human life and it’s behavioural instincts, as we pass through this exciting challenging world. Our behaviour or our instincts are integral part of these elements of changes that determines our moral instincts or behaviour as we nurture ourselves and adopt ourselves to this changes. Mankind are vulnerable to these changes because human psychology is based on what is good and what is bad. This is what makes human beings understanding of our human conditions or ourselves. My comments only

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Hi Noddy, thanks for your comment. One of the key points in Jeremy Griffith’s work is that our troubled behaviour isn’t the result of humans being inherently “bad”, but rather the outcome of a long-standing psychological conflict that developed when our species’ ddeveloped consciousness. As he explains, humans have cooperative, loving instincts, but when our conscious intellect emerged and began questioning those instincts, in order to understand and manage life, it created a clash between those two systems, which produced the insecurity, anger and egocentric behaviour we see in human life. Understanding this deeper cause of the human condition helps explain why humans have struggled so much with questions of “good” and “bad”, and why gaining this understanding of our fundamental goodness is so reconciling and redeeming.

Bobbles300

This indeed has me now in a much better place this is everything we need too know finally finally finally its done we can be one and peaceful if we all take this into consideration of our lives this is the answer thankyou Jeremy Griffith.💯

Wilmer Márquez Gauna

I am amaze, our human condition has it all. For us to be happy in this crazy world. He say it all.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Thank you Wilmer for commenting; yes, Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of our human condition does have it all and says it all! To quote from our FAQ 1.6, ‘Why does understanding solve everything’: “...in a world fast going crazy from the effects of the human condition, this is the now desperately needed reconciling understanding that brings about a new world for humans FREE of the agony of the human condition. This is the understanding that ends human suffering at its source, and unites the human race.” We hope you pursue your interest by subscribing to our free mailing list and joining our incredibly popular Facebook Group, which over 100,000 people have already joined to discuss the liberating effects of understanding the human condition at last!

Great video

Melissa

It’s really frustrating having comprehension issues. I can listen and hear them but couldnt reiterate what someone said. I’m having troubles with this video. I’ll just have to listen a few times. Sometimes that helps. It’s truely frustrating!!!!!!!

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Thanks for your comment, Melissa; Jeremy Griffith’s biological explanation introduces a new scientific paradigm based on confronting rather than the historic practice of avoiding the issue of the human condition so it does require some application and digestion time to fully absorb and assess it, so we send you all our encouragement — and we often recommend people listen or watch THE Interview a few times to help this process. You may also find our FAQ 1.3 helpful as it provides a very brief summary of the Jeremy’s key ‘instinct vs intellect’ concept.

Laya Prasad Uprety

Extraordinarily liberating! Such an interview is very rare. Being an anthropologist, I found the interview even more interesting.

Mark Digiglio

I look forward to watching this!!!100%!

Lief

Haven’t watched but I am sharing it. You would have to go really far to surprise me about anything human related and if you end by only trying to sell something that is supposed to fix everything whatever it may be then you have merely confirmed what the point of this run on sentence is referring to about any and every thing in the worldly and godly realm this is indeed another waste of any humans intelligence.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Hi Lief, we appreciate both your sharing of THE Interview, and your scepticism, which the astonishing claims being made about this work do warrant, however, the amazing fact is that they all withstand scrutiny, so we hope you do watch it and give it your consideration. We also wanted to emphasise that FIX THE WORLD is a scientific pursuit and was not created for profit, so all of our information and materials (including books, videos and podcasts) are provided absolutely free of charge.

Brenda

Thank you for sharing this valuable information.

Noki Patiken

I just scroll through the phone and find this by surprise. Here by I am honestly not sure of anything and l would like to know and understand exactly what you trying to bring across. Thankyou.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Thanks for your query, Noki. THE Interview presents biologist Jeremy Griffith’s breakthrough ‘Instinct vs Intellect’ explanation of the human condition. It is the ideal introduction to his treatise and the key concept is explained in Part 1 of THE Interview. Also our FAQ 1.3 presents a brief outline of the explanation. Essentially, when we humans developed a conscious mind some 2 million years ago, a battle unavoidably developed between it and our already established instincts. The result of this conflict between our instinct and intellect was that we became psychologically defensive, angry, alienated and egocentric — the upset state we refer to as the ‘human condition’. But now that we can explain and understand this conflict, all those insecure, defensive behaviours are obsoleted, brought to an end, and we free ourselves from the human condition. We hope you have the opportunity to watch, read or listen to THE Interview, Noki, and other material on our website, which is all available for free.

Steve

Adam stork analogy, simple, spot on and completely testable. Why isn’t this taught in schools? How relieving, our early ancestors were instinctively loving and cooperative. Our unique upset stems from the emergence of consciousness. Surely, we can now use our intellect to understand and nurture our somewhat repressed, true instinctive ideals. Surely, it’s not too late.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Hi Steve, we agree! And while the world does seem to be approaching a critical point, once enough people engage with the explanatory power of THE Interview, change can occur remarkably quickly. That’s because in it Jeremy Griffith identifies and resolves the underlying source of our upset - the selfishness, anger and egocentricity we see all around us. You might be interested in our FAQ 1.40 which goes to the heart of your hope that “Surely, it’s not too late” to findamentally fix our world: ‘Aren’t the problems of the world too overwhelming to ever be fixed? / Isn’t it too late to save the world?’. So while FIX THE WORLD may not have reached tipping point yet, we we are well on our way as you can see from the excitement and relief in the Daily Ecstatic Responses that are published at the top of our homepage, where you can also see the rapidly growing appreciation and support for Jeremy Griffith’s work with outstanding commendations from thought leaders and over 80 FIX THE WORLD Centres that have been established all around the world!

You can aslo download free Kindle versions from Amazon. If you are particularly after a hardcopy of Jeremy’s books they are available to purchase from Amazon and other good bookstores.

Kendal L.

We appreciate your contributions towards humanity. However, you absolutely MUST understand that the human condition can not be fixed or healed completely, as you said it, with one idea, one technique, one path way, etc. You will not hear me claim to know more than anyone else about our human condition than anyone outside of myself. I have always been quiet, observing everything and most favorably I’ve had a very strong inclination to inquire and understand the unknown and my self has been my doorway to recognize and make known what had yet to be. We have been on this journey longer than what can be fathomed. When it clicks for the world, I can only hope that you will remember me saying this: Every step from first to last was worth it and ultimately necessary. Safe Travels. Keep going, Always. 🔥

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Hi Kendal, thank you for your comment, and it is great you have watched THE Interview. Certainly, it may seem like absolutism to apply a universal solution to any problem, however as THE Interview explains, all humans suffer from the universal psychosis caused by the clash between our instinct and intellect. As a species, we became angry, egocentric and alienated, or in a word ‘upset’ so all humans, to varying degrees, suffer from the human condition. As the highly respected psychiatrist Professor Harry Prosen, a former President of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, wrote: “the beauty of Griffith’s treatise is that the healing starts at the macro level of the universal human condition; the healing of the shame and blame that the whole human race has suffered from… It brings the greater context and love to all human psychosis and suffering, and then, from under the umbrella of that safe position, everyone can gradually work inwards to their particular experience of all the imperfections in human life that have now, finally, been made sense of.” (FAQ 1.34).

William

How can we make it work to many people are enjoying their human condition with all their greed and violence.??

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Hi William, as biologist Jeremy Griffith explains in Part 4 of THE Interview explains, while the world is fast approaching a point of no return, this understanding will turn things around incredibly quickly, because it explains and solves the underlying cause of all our selfishness, anger and egocentricity. Your question is specifically addressed in FAQ 1.40 titled ‘Aren’t the problems of the world too overwhelming to ever be fixed? / Isn’t it too late to save the world? / How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’. It is explained there that even those who are most committed to seeking validation through gaining power and wealth, including those entrenched in positions of power, will quickly realise how empty and obsolete that strategy is now that we have the fully accountable, psychosis-addressing-and-solving, biological explanation of the human condition that establishes our worth at the most fundamental level. We also recommend FAQ 1.38 titled ‘Aren’t some people just born psychopathic, or even ‘evil’? / How does this explanation rehabilitate people capable of ‘evil’ behaviour? / Does this condone ‘evil’ behaviour?’

Jack Cameron

Still don’t understand it but its the first time I’ve ever heard of this?..!!!!!!!

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Hi Jack, good on you for sharing your experience as it isn’t uncommon given this is introducing an entire new paradigm based on new science. Also, as biologist Jeremy Griffith explains in THE Interview, the human condition is the most fearful of subjects because it’s the issue of whether we are fundamentally good or bad as individuals and as a species and our resistance to or fear of this interface can make it hard to understand all that is presented in one viewing (FAQ 1.16 explains this initial ‘deaf effect’). We suggest you re-watch THE Interview and then watch its companion presentation The Great Guilt that causes the Deaf Effect. This is an astonishingly beautiful and revealing presentation where Jeremy takes us back to when the human condition first emerged in humans and comprehensively explains our fear of the human condition is a result of the shame and guilt we feel for having corrupted our all-loving and sensitive soul. It is the second of our introductory videos which you can access here on our FIX THE WORLD website. If you need a little encouragement to pursue your interest just read the daily ecstatic responses to THE interview as they express the relief and excitement of finally being able to understand the human condition and what has been driving our destructive behaviour.

If enough people listen to him the maybe the world could be saved but The main people in the world with power to end it are to far gone. In order for the world to get to were it needs to be unfortunately war is inevitably first. I thought the interview was fantastic brilliant and feel privileged to be alive during this break through and I’m going to look further into it hopefully enough people live after the war to put it in to practice. Surely they can’t killing everyone I think I will get book awesome and thank you for this great gift to the world

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Hi Darryl, the world is certainly fast reaching its 11th hour but with enough people accessing THE Interview’s explanatory power it will turn things around incredibly quickly because it explains and solves the underlying cause of all our selfishness, anger and egocentricity. We suggest reading our FAQ 1.40 which addresses the questions ‘Aren’t the problems of the world too overwhelming to ever be fixed? / Isn’t it too late to save the world? / How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’. We may not have reached tipping point yet but we are well on our way as you can see from the excitement and relief in the daily ecstatic responses to THE Interview at the top of our homepage where you can also see the rapidly growing appreciation and support for Jeremy Griffith’s work with outstanding commendations from thought leaders and over 80 FIX THE WORLD Centres all around the world!     You can immediately access free copies of THE Interview, Jeremy’s latest book The Human Condition and his main book FREEDOM (to read, listen to, download and even print) on the our homepage under the ‘WHAT NEXT’ section. Neville

Enthralling, intriguing. I’m trying to understand and somehow knowing that I must understand because I know we are troubled and basically good. Am I just in conflict with my true self because I have a developed self I should be proud of, an inquisitive and thirsting for knowledge self that I should be proud of, and not in conflict with. I should be happy and content and careing.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Hi Neville, thank you for your heartfelt comment and you can take heart because now the conflict is biologically explained it is resolved!! The issue has been with how the conscious self interpreted our instinctive self’s attempts to influence our behaviour so now we can understand that we are not longer conflicted and can become sound managers of our psychological upset and start to think and live with this knowledge and experience the lasting happiness, contentment and caring you and humanity longs for! This is explained in our FAQ 1.36 titled ‘Does the search for knowledge end now that the explanation of the human condition has been found? / Will our instincts continue to criticise us now that the human condition has been solved?’. We encourage you to read this FAQ in full but here is an extract: “Of course, the search for knowledge will continue, but not from a basis of dishonest denial, and with the key piece of knowledge we needed found of the explanation of the human condition, the priority for the immediate future will be—as will be explained in the next chapter—to take up the human-condition-reconciled Transformed Way of Living.’ (You can read about the Transformed Way of Living in Section 4 of the FAQs.) Having the redeeming, reconciling explanation of why our conscious mind had to defy our original ideal-behaviour-insisting instinctive self or soul does not mean our instincts will stop continuing to seek to impose their selfless, loving and cooperative orientation. However, being able to now understand the very good reason why the conscious mind has to search for knowledge means that these instinctive directives will no longer be interpreted by the conscious mind as ‘criticism’, and so it will no longer be psychologically upsetting; indeed our instinct’s/conscience’s feedback will forevermore be wonderful ‘guidance’.”     Explanation of the human condition presents a huge paradigm shift in our thinking which does take a little time to fully grasp and apply to our lives so we recommend you re-watch THE Interview. From there, at top of our FIX THE WORLD homepage at HumanCondition.com, it states ‘WHAT NEXT after watching THE Interview?’ and guides you through the steps to pursue your interest. This includes subscribing to our mailing list where you will receive one email per week and occasional News Flashes. We also encourage people to join our Facebook Group, with over 100,000 members, to learn more about this amazing, human-condition-resolved new world. We are a not-for-profit organisation and make all our material and publications free to read online, watch, listen to and even download and print!

Samuel O.

The example of the stork is incredibly simple and it captures our dilemma. We have an unsolvable desire to explore the unknown. But inevitably we risk straying off the right path into a dangerous unknown dimension. Have I got it right?

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Yes Samuel the Adam Stork Story explains that in order to master or champion our free will, or “explore the unknown” our intellect had to defy or ignore our instincts and “risk straying off the right path into a dangerous unknown dimension”, and it was this defiance of our instincts that resulted in humans becoming angry, egocentric and alienated — the psychological upset state of our human condition. As the interviewer, British broadcaster Craig Conway, asks a similar question in Part 1 “So Adam Stork—we humans—developed a conscious mind and unavoidably started warring with our instincts, an upsetting war which could only end when we could explain and understand why we had to defy our instincts, which is the understanding that you have just supplied, yes?” to which Jeremy Griffith replies “Exactly, remember Adam Stork became defensively angry, egocentric and alienated because he couldn’t explain why he was defying his instincts, so now that we can explain why, those defensive behaviours are no longer needed and can end!”. You might like to watch or read our brief Video/Freedom Essay 3 titled ‘THE EXPLANATION of the human condition’ for more on how the ‘Adam Stork’ analogy serves as a powerful metaphor for the journey our species has been on in the quest for self-understanding!

Can’t wait to listen to this interview !

Debbi

I had a question all typed...it disappeared...so you may get this question twice. Where does God fit in?? If we are going to fix the world...don’t you think God should be involved...because it’s his...he created the world. Thank you Debbi.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Thank you for your comment Debbi. We only received this one comment from you so we can only assume you didn’t press the ‘submit’ button on your previous comment.     Jeremy Griffith’s work doesn’t ignore, exclude or contradict a belief in God, or religion. It simply brings biological understanding to all those pre-scientific concepts. In fact, in terms of Christianity Jeremy considers the Bible to be a repository of extremely rare denial-free truth, containing all the truth about human life albeit from a pre-science view. Although this is science, it is based on a ‘Godly’ nature in the sense of recognising, like all the great religions do, that we humans once lived in a pre-human-condition-afflicted state of original innocence where we were perfectly instinctively orientated to the cooperative, selfless, loving, ‘Godly’ ideals of life; ‘God’ being explained as the Negative-Entropy-driven integrative meaning of existence (or love). He discusses this in Part 3 of THE Interview and refers the audience to chapter 4 ‘The Meaning of Life’ of his definitive book FREEDOM — which is summarised in FAQ 6.2 ‘What is ‘God’? / Does the scientific explanation of ‘God’ really contain all the attributes of religion’s metaphysical ‘God’?’ We also suggest FAQ 6.3 ‘Aren’t all Griffith’s demystifications of religious teachings going to be seen by supporters of religion as blasphemy? / Does understanding of the human condition undermine a faith in religion or God? / How does this affect my personal religious practice? / How can you reconcile the explanation of the human condition that defends the upset state with religious teachings that condemn upset?’     In dealing with such a historically difficult subject for us humans, these biological explanations of the human condition are very confronting by nature and in addition although ultimately a fulfilment of religion they do demystify religious concepts which some people can find incredibly challenging and we encourage everyone to take their time investigating what’s being presented.

David Mansford

This is such wonderful wisdom. It has solved the internal conflict of my understanding about we humans. “All you need is love”! Thank you.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Yes, most wonderfully, biologist Jeremy Griffith explains why we haven’t been all-loving even though our instinctive self expects to be unconditionally loved. It is only the defence of our unloving or ‘dark' side, through finding the good reason that we had to defy our instincts, that would allow us to act with love and compassion, because only now are all our defensive behaviours (our anger, egocentricity and alienation) redundant. We no longer need them because we have the real defence for why we had to defy our instincts!

Jerrold Wright Jr

I enjoyed the interview. I have always tried to have a better understanding of human/humanity behavior toward each other 🙏 the information gave me a clear picture of human behavior 😔🙂 it leaves you with mix emotions.

Thank You: Jerrold (Jay) Wright

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Thank you for your wonderful comment Jerrold. It is understandable, after not being able to understand what’s been driving human behaviour, to initially have mixed emotions when at last we can! As Jeremy Griffith explains while we humans couldn’t defend our upset corrupted state, we couldn’t afford to admit we were upset. Thankfully now our upset state is explained and defended, we can safely re-connect with the human condition in ourselves and the world and bring love and forgiveness to our dark side because we can understand that becoming corrupt was an immensely heroic state, not a shameful one, and when we feel that deep inside the feeling of relief, joy and excitement become all-encompassing!

Alan

Hi. I watched some of this already. The Buddha had discovered many of the principles mentioned here almost three thousand years ago. He does not get credit because 99% of all Buddhist practitioners practice and understand a provisional version of his teaching. In the Immeasurable Meanings Sutra he said “I have not yet revealed the truth”. He was seventy years old and many sects of Buddhism had already formed. The Hinayana and provisional Mahayana. I am watching an online lecture on the Quantum nature of light, the Path Integral theory of Quantum Mechanics, probability amplitudes and the Collapse of the wave function where a subatomic particle has multiple states until observed, and that the observation itself “collapses” all those states into one state. Many of these caused Einstein to reject Quantum Mechanics, but if he encountered the Buddha and explained to him his dilemma the Buddha would have eased his mind. We do not live in an “Objective Reality” We live in an Interrelational reality. The environment exists in us as we exist in the environment. A tree crashing does not make a sound. It causes small vibrational pressue changes in the air which hit an eardrum which vibrates, sends a signal to the brain and the brain registers sound. Without that no sound. It is the same with light and time and space. These do not exist absent our relation to the stimulating phenomena in the “environment”. The aspects of human behavior one discusses can be broken into the Ten Factors the Buddha mentioned in the Lotus Sutra: The suchness of Appearance, Nature, Entity, Power, Influence, Inherent Cause, Relation, Latent Effect, Manifest Effect, and their Consistency from Beginning to End. All of the vicissitudes of Human Behavior, the causes and conditions of what we call “reality” were all covered by the Buddha. I can not explain all I want to, there is not enough space. A dialogue here would be apt.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Hi Alan, thank you for your thoughts. Firstly we do encourage people to watch the entire interview as what is being introduced is a new scientific paradigm based on confronting rather than the historic practice of avoiding the issue of the human condition—which leads to so many new concepts such as that the human race lived in an original state of innocence, that nurturing created our moral soul, and that there is an integrative meaning to existence—so it does require some studying and digestion time to reasonably comprehend aspects of the new paradigm.     While Buddhism and other religions contain all manner of truths about human life, it is all from a pre-scientific view. Buddhism certainly provided guidance on dealing with the symptoms of the human condition, but ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless, we are so angry, competitive and selfish? There has been thousands of years of different techniques for calming, restraining, repressing, and even transcending our psychologically upset human condition and deferring to the soundness of our soul in one form or another, like in Buddhism, but none of them have brought an end to the upset state of the human condition—it’s still rampant everywhere. The reason is because they don’t solve the human condition. They don’t deal with the source or “Inherent Cause” of our species’ corrupted condition and bring relieving understanding to it. So until the humans’ apparently divisive behaviour was defended, we haven’t been able to properly acknowledge the integrative meaning behind existence, and, as discussed in THE Interview, science in particular, with its mechanistic, reductionist approach, has denied this negative entropy driven Integrative Meaning. Being subconsciously aware that mechanistic science hasn’t been presenting the full truth, many people embraced quantum physics with its recognition of entanglement and interconnectedness to fill that void. However, as THE Interview explains, the real issue that had to be dealt with if we were to solve the world’s problems and heal the human race was our destructively behaved human condition. We needed science to answer this essential question of why, when the ideals are to be integrative are we so disintegrative? This is what Jeremy Griffith’s treatise does and why it is heralded as the biological breakthrough that can fix the world — see the commendations Jeremy’s work has received from eminent scientists and thinkers around the world on our Commendations page. We suggest reading FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this idea original or new? / How does biologist Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition differ from other theories that recognise these elements?’ and FAQ 5.3 titled What is the Integrative Meaning of life or ‘God’?

Willem PA Stander

Wow this is a remarkable discovery. That brings about unveiling of the myths and lies that have dominated modern science for such a millennial of decades. I like to call it the Ostrich approach, Ostriches hide their heads and believe that because they can no longe see the danger, they have become invisabile and danger can no longer see them.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Hi Willem, thank you for your appreciative comment. As Jeremy Griffith explains in THE Interview until we could understand our human condition—that is, understand why we humans are competitive, aggressive and selfish when our instincts are actually to be cooperative, loving and selfless—all we sensibly could do was practice almost total denial of it so your Ostrich analogy is very apt! Thankfully now that we have this redeeming understanding that denial is no longer necessary and we can take our heads out of the sand as the human condition can now be safely confronted which leads to the rehabilitation of the whole human race and the world — see FAQ 1.6 ‘Why does understanding of the human condition solve everything?’

Janos Suagotsu

Use the most basic language and we will understand you. I studied Darwin in school. Sorry i do not think you match him yet. Nice try. Pacific Islander

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Hi Janos, thank you for your comment. While great care has been taken to present the explanation as quickly and simply as possible (which is done in Part 1) THE Interview also explains the very nature of the human condition means discussion of it can be initially difficult to access. This is because historically the issue of whether we are fundamentally good or bad has been the most terrifying of all subjects to face, and so we have necessarily lived in almost total denial of it, which means our minds can initially struggle to hear and absorb discussion about it. However, this ‘deaf effect’ can be overcome with a little patient perseverance and everyone can access this most wonderful of all gifts of understanding the human condition! See our FAQ 1.16 ‘Why can’t I understand this?’. Also FAQ 1.3 presents a very brief summary of the key ‘instinct vs intellect’ concept which you might find helpful. Essentially, when we humans developed a conscious mind some 2 million years ago, a battle unavoidably developed between it and our already established cooperative instincts. The result of this conflict between our instinct and intellect was that we became psychologically defensive, angry, alienated and egocentric – the upset state we refer to as the human condition. But now that we can explain and understand this conflict, all those insecure, defensive behaviours are obsoleted, brought to an end, and we free ourselves from the human condition.     Charles Darwin’s idea of natural selection was a critically important breakthrough, not only because it allowed us to understand how the great diversity of life on Earth emerged, but because it finally enabled us to explain the human condition. After we could understand the process of natural selection we were finally in a position to explain that our instincts were only orientations to and not understandings of the world around us, which, as biologist Jeremy has now revealed, is the key to explaining the human condition. Professor Stuart Hurlbert, esteemed ecologist and Professor Emeritus of Biology at San Diego State University, recognises the sheer magnitude of the scientific advancement introduced in Jeremy’s treatise saying: “I am stunned & honored to have lived to see the coming of ‘Darwin II’. I say this because after Darwin’s theory of Natural Selection explained the variety of life, Jeremy Griffith has gone on to solve the other four main questions science had to answer about our world and place in it. They are: 1) the dilemma of the human condition, which his instinct vs intellect explanation in chapter 3 of his main, seminal book FREEDOM finally solves; 2) how we humans became fully conscious when other species haven’t, which he answers in chapter 7; 3) the origins of humans’ unique moral nature, which he answers in chapter 5, which it turns out American philosopher John Fiske had already explained in 1874 but mechanistic science had ignored; and 4) the truth of the Integrative Meaning of existence (which we have personified as ‘God’), in chapter 4, which only a rare few thinkers in history have been able to recognize. A most phenomenal scientific achievement!” We recommend you re-watch Part 3 of THE Interview where Jeremy explains these aspects of this critical new science and people can read more of the impressive commendations Jeremy’s work has received in our FAQ 1.7 ‘What scientific support does Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition have?’

Ricardo Thomas

I have always believed that we are all essentially “good” at our core but very rarely found anyone else who holds this view. This just confirms and explains in more detail what I already believed but it also strengthens that belief and turns the belief into knowing, so thanks for that it’s much appreciated and I think I will watch this on a regular basis just as a reminder.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Hi Ricardo, thank you for your comment and yes this is the end of belief and the beginning of knowing!! Despite our competitive and selfish behaviour, we have always intuitively believed we were fundamentally good, but we have never been able to explain this contradictory, conflicted condition. Ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy Griffith presents here and his book FREEDOM. No wonder his work has attracted praise from eminent scientists and thought leaders around the world which you can read on our Commendations page on our website.

Vivian Lee

this interview has definitely touched on the one topic to simplify the complexities with answering the human condition questions. just wanted to share my personal take from this video... being human... our struggle with the understanding why we obsessed with finding a rhyme or reason requires the ability to get validation... being validated for our curiosity without feeling judged for having questions..

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Thank you for sharing your thoughts Vivian. What is unique about biologist Jeremy Griffith’s work is he has answered the essential question of why, when the universal ideals are to be integrative are we so disintegrative? Our endeavours in philosophy, psychology and biology have failed, until now, to provide a truthful, real, fully accountable, genuinely clarifying explanation. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents here, see FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this idea original or new?’. Significantly this ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition finally reveals the real reason for why humans’ selfish and competitive behaviour became an unavoidable, indeed necessary, part of human life. Proving we were better than someone else gave us the validation and reinforcement we desperately sought to counter the deep insecurity we felt about having to suffer becoming self-corrupted or “non-ideal” for searching for knowledge. We did feel “judged for having questions” and felt criticised by our instincts which are unavoidably dictatorial. Thankfully now with our goodness and worth now biologically established, we no longer need to be preoccupied with seeking artificial validation of our goodness and worth by seeking power, fame, fortune and glory, see FAQ 1.40 ‘How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful?’. Solving the human condition solves all the confusion, frustration and suffering in human life at its source so we can actually stop the destruction of ourselves and fix the world.

Sage

Humans are taught By Religious Leaders We are born into Sin As Sinners Is The Beginning of The Disconnection Deception Denial Illusion All Fundamental Good Peoples

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Hi Sage, in THE Interview biologist Jeremy Griffith explains all humans are born with all-loving moral instincts but now variously suffer from a psychosis due to the human condition caused by the conscious mind’s necessary search for knowledge. So we can at last understand the cause or “beginning” of our species becoming so psychologically upset—angry, egocentric and alienated—as to nearly destroy our own planet. But now we can explain and understand this necessary conflict, all those insecure, defensive behaviours are obsoleted, and we free ourselves from the human condition. See this FAQ 1.3 for a nutshell explanation.     With regard to religious doctrine, with the human condition explained we can understand the more upset people became, the more they needed to try to obey the ‘Godly’ ideals of life that religions taught, but the problem was such condemnation of upset behaviour could be extremely terrorising and oppressive. Obviously what was desperately missing was reconciling understanding of our upset behaviour and the Godly ideals; reconciling understanding of the human condition in fact—which is exactly what Jeremy presents us with. So no longer does anybody have to be terrorised by religious dogma. They can understand what such religious doctrine was providing (even though it could be hurtful) and the great role religions played in humanity’s journey. See FAQ 6.3 about understanding religion and FAQ 1.15 about how Jeremy’s work actually reconciles science and religion by bringing biological understanding to pre-scientific concepts.

Roberta

Thank you. I am so grateful for the relief of hearing out loud what I have always felt and somehow known to be true. Things that I have been trying to communicate to the world, and feeling so overwhelmed by a burden of responsibility to get the message out there, that I have not been able to articulate in such a profound way. I am grateful to have the words of yours and others to pass on to explain things like the “Great Guilt” and the “Deaf Effect” as an alternative to terms like Separation and Resistance. I’m not too ashamed to admit I appreciate the validation because without it, feels like madness. I had mostly resigned myself to giving up on fixing the world, or at least, bullying myself into believing that I couldn’t do any more than fixing myself just to avoid the utter despair of feeling so powerless. Declaring “I don’t subscribe to the system - of greed, power, corruption” mostly puts me at a disadvantage - I’m not much of an activist - but I won’t pay the higher prices, or go along with the way of the world. I won’t resign myself to “that’s just the way it is, and there’s nothing you can do about it” (put up or shut up). I feel like David versus Goliath and wonder what I’m meant to learn from the experience of squaring up to something so much bigger than me, alone. I hope, at the very least, it’s to demonstrate to the world that truth is all there is. In truth there can be no greed, abuse of power or corruption and therefore, there need be no fear. A very apt definition of love, I like to use is, “love is the absence of fear”. Thank you, all.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Roberta, what a beautiful comment, thank you for taking the time to watch THE Interview and to articulate your response so thoughtfully, from the heart. Trying to engage with the world without compromising one’s self has certainly been almost impossible, to the extent that it has felt like madness to try to even do so, but now that we have the completely redeeming, uplifting and healing biological understanding of the core mystery and problem about human behaviour — of our so-called ‘good and evil’-stricken human condition — we can finally understand ourselves and make sense of all the chaos, suffering and seeming “madness” in human life. Science has finally made it possible for the whole jigsaw of confusion and mystery about us humans to be fitted together so that it all makes sense. We have found the key understanding that ends the underlying pain in our brains and allows the human race to become sound and sane again! So, in a world fast going crazy from the effects of the human condition, this is the now desperately needed reconciling understanding that brings about a new world for humans FREE of the agony of the human condition. We really hope you pursue your interest by joining the over 100,000 members of our Facebook Group who have also recognised the profundity of Jeremy Griffith’s explanation and learn more about this amazing, human-condition-resolved new world it brings about!

Love this interview

Mark Parker

My brain drifts. And I miss part of the subject.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Hi Mark. Yes, even though Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ concept is actually very simple, we humans have lived in such fear and denial of our corrupted condition that we can find it difficult to ‘hear’ or take in discussion of it; so our minds can “drift”, as you say. For people new to this concept, we recommend Jeremy’s recent presentation The Great Guilt, which explains this ‘Deaf Effect’ in depth. So we do hope you persevere, Mark. If you would appreciate reading a good quick summary, we also recommend FAQ 1.3.

Amazing, I want to share with everyone, it will be slow to change but it will in the future. It’s all about unconditional love

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Thanks very much, Joanne. That’s wonderful you want to share this critical new science! Everything on the FIX THE WORLD website is freely available to share, including THE Interview where there is a ‘SHARE’ button underneath the video player at the top of the World Transformation Movement homepage at HumanCondition.com. As well all our publications include a share button (along with the other options to access audio versions, translations, and downloading and printing our publications.)     Yes, it will take generations to completely heal the human race, but as Jeremy Griffith says in Freedom Essay 15, “It is this particular undeniable consequence of the arrival of understanding of the human condition of the transformation of our lives from living selfishly and competitively to living selflessly and cooperatively that is going to eventually catch on as being the right response now for everyone and when it does, it will spread like wildfire across our planet, and save the world. And it is not a revolution that involves warfare and bloodshed like so many revolutions in the past, but a peaceful revolution that is driven by irrefutable knowledge/understanding. We humans are conscious beings and what consciousness needs is understanding, and now we have it. Ultimately, we humans respond to knowledge—anything less was bound to be ineffective. This is the real and lasting transformation that the human race has lived in hope, faith and trust would one day occur. It is the revolution of our minds.”

Janice

What is this? Please

FIX THE WORLD Admin

We welcome your interest Janice. The result of this conflict between our instinct and intellect was that we became psychologically defensive, angry, alienated and egocentric — the upset state we refer to as the human condition. But now that we can explain and understand this conflict, all those insecure, defensive behaviours are obsoleted, brought to an end, and we free ourselves from the human condition. Please see our reply to Ashokrao directly below which explains how to freely access THE Interview.

Absolutely fantastic and spot on.

ingrid

Wow, this is very interesting, and explanatory. I now understand what goes on in the human minds.

Eleniza

This is Carl Jung discubrement and this guy is saying that he has fix the world with someone else’s studies. 🙄 I even can’t believe what I’m hearing.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Hi Eleniza, psychoanalyst Carl Jung was absolutely correct in identifying the importance of gaining understanding of our ‘psyche’; he was forever saying that ‘wholeness for humans depends on the ability to own their own shadow’. What is presented here, with biologist Jeremy Griffith’s redeeming ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition, is what – finally – gives us the ability to own our own shadow. You might be interested in FAQ 1.47 ‘How does Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition differ from the theories of Freud or Jung?’ which explains that because he was not able to recognise that we humans have a loving and cooperative past, Jung was not able to explain the human condition. Also readers may find is FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this idea original or new? / How does biologist Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition differ from other theories that recognise these elements?’ helpful.

AMD Jr

I really enjoyed listening to the podcast really opened me up on the how I look at self consciousness but like you said I would have to listen a few more times thank you very much.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

Yes AMD, as is explained in THE Interview, the human condition is the most fearful of subjects because it’s the issue of whether we are fundamentally good or bad and our fear of this interface can make it hard to fully grasp all that is explained in one viewing so re-watching THE Interview is highly recommended. This resistance or ‘deaf effect’ is comprehensively explained in the companion presentation to THE Interview titled The Great Guilt that causes the Deaf Effect (here on our website) and includes people talking about their experience and how it was easily overcome with a little patient perseverence. Sending you all our encouragement!

Luis G. Camarena Adame

A quite important aproach of human condición! Revealing!

Millwall

Very interesting that we humans have a way to heal

András

Thank you for putting it out there. I believe I came to the same conclusions by way of realization a while ago. My most important question that arose from this is “what do I do with this?”Can I do anything or it will become just a statement that is philisophically correct? I know and I completely agree, that we needed it but whithout even a suggestion of a next step or a consideration of it as a most important first step unfortunately it will remain a mute issue.

FIX THE WORLD Admin

There is a lot to absorb here András, but Part 4 of THE Interview titled ‘How does this psychological rehabilitation of the human race actually occur?’ answers your question of can I do anything with this? It explains this understanding allows the immediate transformation of everyone’s life because, as Jeremy explains, “while it will take a number of generations to heal all the upset in us humans, everyone can immediately live free of their upset. The reason we can live free of it is that while we lacked the real defence and reinforcement of understanding of our corrupted condition, we absolutely needed the artificial defences and reinforcements of attacking any criticism of our corrupted condition, of denying and blocking it out, and of finding any positive reinforcement we could—anger, alienation and egocentricity are what sustained us—but now that we have the real defence and reinforcement of our fundamental goodness, all these artificial defences and reinforcements are obsoleted, they are no longer needed. In fact, to continue using the old artificial defences of retaliation, denial and the search for relieving power, fame, fortune and glory when our fundamental goodness has been established is not only clearly pointless but also unnecessarily destructive of ourselves, everyone around us and our planet. That way of living is now completely obsoleted, finished with ... Basically, now that our corrupted condition is finally truthfully explained, honesty replaces denial and the world heals.” This is the unique significance of Jeremy’s work so the practical application of this understanding is as simple as the concept itself but the reality is that we are so used to living in denial of the human condition that it typically takes a little more time to bring the explanation back to yourself and see how it applies to our everyday lives. The Great Guilt that causes the Deaf Effect further explains our historic fear of the human condition and how we have had to live in denial of it and how with a little patient perseverence it is easily overcome.     So with the dark side of our nature truthfully explained and defended and our fundamental goodness established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly, we no longer have to prove our worth. We can now legitimately return to a selfless way of living and this is the transforming effect of being able to understand the human condition. ‘Legitimately’ because we have the first principle science which liberates us, allowing us to be honest about our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it (FAQ 6.5 explains this critical difference between Jeremy’s work and the New Age Movement). So instead of being focused on power, fame, fortune and glory, all our energies will be freed to truly work together on doing whatever it takes to end the suffering and save our world. This is further dealt with in FAQ 1.40 ‘Aren’t the problems of the world too overwhelming to ever be fixed? / Isn’t it too late to save the world? / How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?'. We also recommend our comprehensive FAQ 1.4 ‘How does understanding the human condition transform the world’.

Thank you for your comment Krylatov, it’s wonderful to have your interest. Firstly you don’t need to register to access our website it’s all completely free. So you can immediately access a copy of THE Interview, Jeremy Griffith’s latest book The Human Condition and his main book FREEDOM on the FIX THE WORLD homepage under the ‘WHAT NEXT’ section. You can also download free Kindle versions from Amazon. Also you can subscribe to our free Mailing List where you will receive one email per week and occasional News Flashes     In terms of Catholicism, while Christianity and other religions contain all manner of truths about human life, it is all from a pre-scientific view. Ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents in THE Interview.     Now, with the human condition explained, we can understand the more psychologically upset people became, the more they needed to try to obey the ‘Godly’ ideals of life that religions taught, but the problem was such condemnation of upset behaviour was “negative” as you say and could be extremely terrorising and oppressive. This is fully explained in our FAQ 6.3 about understanding religion. And most significantly, as Jeremy explains in THE Interview, we no longer have to live under the burden of guilt for having become upset. As he explains in Part 2 the story of Adam and Eve is a pre-scientific metaphor for the emergence of consciousness and its clash with our pre-established, cooperative loving instincts, resulting in humans becoming psychologically upset or ‘sinful’ or ‘evil’. However, significantly we can now understand, from scientific first principles, that ‘Adam and Eve’ were ‘good’ to search for knowledge, not bad or ‘evil’; we humans are actually the absolute heroes of the whole story! It couldn’t be a bigger breakthrough, to quote Part 4 of THE Interview: “What this instinct vs intellect explanation of the human condition fundamentally does is lift the ‘burden of guilt’ from the human race. It establishes that we humans are good and not bad after all… That is the key relief for our mind—being finally able to understand that we are good and not bad is what brings us the greatest psychological relief of all.”!!
