Agreed that our early hunter gatherer ancestors were more in harmony with themselves and others but of course lack of ownership of possessions was one reason. After experience as a clinical hypnotherapist my explanation for the human condition is the difference between our subconscious basic survival mind and our conscious thinking mind. Our subconscious is programmed randomly by experience, touch a hot stove and it hurts so avoid etc. When faced with any situation our conscious mind may well decide the best approach but if it is at odds with the protective emotions of our subconscious programme the battle begins and emotion is actually more powerful than logic. When we switched to agriculture we settled in towns and cities and it became vital that we cooperated with our fellows so our moral compass became much stronger as being rejected by our fellows ment being cast out with usually meant death so barring barring psychopaths and similar we all basically want to be liked by our fellows. We want to be admired respected and valued and we know mostly in our conscious reasoning minds how to behave but if aspects of that behaviour conflict with the rigid unthinking subconscious it normally wins the battle. My experience shows that we would practically all be loving, generous, cooperative, slim, hard working successful etc if our subconscious is reprogrammed in hypnosis for what we want rather than what we get.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
The central tenet of Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition is that humans have a cooperative, loving instinctive heritage, not a brutish, savage and aggressive one, and that the source of our aggression is a psychosis that has been compounding ever since the instinct and intellect clashed some 2 million years ago. It follows then that the further back in history we go, the less psychologically upset our ancestors were.
As THE Interview explains, our anger, egocentricity, and alienation from our all-loving, cooperative instincts, isn’t the result of the advent of “ownership of possessions”, rather it is the result of a psychosis, caused by the clash between our instinct and intellect.
Now that we can understand that our species has a loving and cooperative heritage, and that our angry, egocentric and alienated behaviour is the result of a psychosis, it is possible to understand what our subconscious really is, and how it effects our behaviour. Our subconscious consists of our suppressed loving and cooperative instinctive self or soul; and also the suppressed knowledge that all our subsequent behaviour is driven by a deep insecurity that causes us to try to prove ourselves every moment of the day. As the distinguished psychiatrist Professor Harry Prosen (who wrote the Introduction to Jeremy Griffith’s definitive book FREEDOM) said: “What Griffith is presenting is understanding of the source insecurity that the whole human race suffers from for having destroyed our species’ innocent soul. It is a universal self-blame that his understanding at last provides healing insight into. All human behavior is saturated with that universal insecure, depressing state and resulting anger, egocentricity and alienation that has developed from it, but we finally have the compassionate foundation insight needed to dismantle all that ‘upset’/psychosis. So the real psychotherapy of our collective and individual psychoses can begin.”

Absolutely illuminating.

This is so true: LOVE UNCONDITIONALLY!!!!!
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thanks Marie. For those that are new to this material, we should add the intermediate logic that allows that conclusion. The truth is that humans have not been able to love unconditionally because of the human condition. Our need to defy our dictatorial instincts in order to search for knowledge unavoidably resulted in humanity becoming angry, egocentric and alienated - unable to love unconditionally. Now that journey to find understanding, in particular, understanding of our corrupted condition, has resulted in the real defence of our condition, it obsoletes the ‘artificial’ defences of anger, egocentricity and alienation. At last humanity can legitimately love unconditionally. So the paradox is that we had to defend our inability to love unconditionally before we could do it, and that is what Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation does.

FIX THE WORLD Admin
Hi Marcus. What is so significant about Jeremy’s breakthrough explanation of the human condition is we no longer have to be burdened by the fundamental question of whether we are good or bad because that core goodness as individuals and as a species has been biologically established. We can understand humans’ psychological upset was the price humans had to pay for searching for knowledge and that the human story presents the greatest, most heroic story ever told. We can at last understand the source of our upset and trauma and bring great compassion and kindness to ourselves and others and, most significantly, we don’t have to overly confront the upset within us which is an important part of the transformation — as our FAQs 1.19 ‘A caution about the danger of over-exposure’ and 1.4 ‘How our lives can be transformed’ explain. This is immensely relieving but it introduces an entirely new framework of knowledge, a massive paradigm shift in how we view ourselves and our world, so we recommend people take it slowly and not rush ahead in themselves as it does take time to fully digest and integrate such a shift in thinking.
After watching THE Interview ideally you would read the two expansions: Jeremy’s mid-length 2025 book The Human Condition, and his definitive book, FREEDOM. Along with watching or reading those 3 titles, it is very helpful to watch the 3 Intro Videos, which are The Great Guilt, The Great Transformation, and Sermon On The Beach. Also, the 16 main videos are very instructive. All our videos and books are freely available to watch, read or download at FIX THE WORLD at HumanCondition.com.

I want to learn why being human is so hard!
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Hi EJ. As is explained in THE Interview, when our emerging intellect began attempting to take over the managment of our lives from our pre-established instincts it came into conflict with those naturally selected genetic orientations, which resulted in us becoming psychologically upset. And this issue of our psychologically upset angry, egocentric and alienated state, has been a question with such terrible implications that we have had to consign it to our unconscious. What this means is that we have been driven by an terrible subconscious insecurity to prove our worth, and so couldn’t bring any peace to our fundamental situation, no matter what we did. That is essentially why life has been so hard.
However, Jeremy Griffith’s understanding of our psychosis presents an understanding of, and solution to, the source of our upset human condition, and this is what is so unique and transforming about his work, and why it is being lauded as such a great breakthrough.

As a Biologist myself, I find this an excellent account explaining the human condition as we have developed an understanding of our feelings of compassion and moral good as a long-term need for us to survive as a species. I don’t agree with Jeremy about his statement that it was actually the Right-wing that opened our understanding for compassion through their quest for the truth! He eventually states all of our understanding once truly achieved, falls in line with the Left-wing ideals that were originally just false hopes. I don’t know about Australia, but the Right-wing in America has nothing to do with the quest for truth!
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thanks for your thoughts Rodney. The paradox of the human condition means that there is a lot to get your head around, and nowhere is this more apparent than with regard to politics. THE Interview provides the fundamental philosophical explanation of the left and right wings. Basically, that freedom of thought and individualism, sustained by the incentives of materialism and capitalism which right-wing constitutions uphold, are what maintained humanity’s heroic search for knowledge, ultimately for self-knowledge. And so paradoxically it was the right-wing that actually held the moral high ground and the left-wing that posed the real threat to humanity due to the fact that its dogmatically imposed pseudo-idealism gravely endangers freedom of thought and the search for understanding. Now the core mystery and problem about human behaviour of our so-called ‘good and evil’-stricken human condition has at last been solved we can understand the real merits and liabilities of both the left and right wings of politics and bring the whole necessary but ugly business of politics to an end (see our FAQs about politics).

I’m trying to learn about what has transpired with me in hopes of healing. I’m stepping into my new world with love and strength; expanding my understanding of my body, soul, mind and how it works can only help me on this walk about.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
You won’t be disappointed Sam. As Professor Prosen, former President of the Canadian Psychiatric Association has said, " “the beauty of Griffith’s treatise is that the healing starts at the macro level of the universal human condition; the healing of the shame and blame that the whole human race has suffered from…It brings the greater context and love to all human psychosis and suffering, and then, from under the umbrella of that safe position, everyone can gradually work inwards to their particular experience of all the imperfections in human life that have now, finally, been made sense of” — see FAQ 1.34 ‘How does understanding the human race’s condition help with an individual’s depression and psychosis?’.
The key breakthrough of this understanding is we no longer have to be burdened by the fundamental question of whether we are good or bad because our core goodness as individuals and as a species has been biologically established. Our psychological upset was the price humans had to pay for searching for knowledge so the human story is the greatest, most heroic story ever told. That macro comforting truth looks after all humans now and we can treat ourselves with great compassion and kindness, and most significantly, we don’t have to overly confront the upset within us. This is summarised in our FAQ 1.19 ‘A caution about the danger of over-exposure / Advice for people with mental health issues’. This FAQ explains that everyone, but especially those with mental health issues, need to manage their exposure to this very confronting information. It also importantly urges people who struggle with mental health issues to seek the support and assistance of professional counsellors and points out that any information we do provide should not be used as, or as a substitute for, professional counselling.

I always knew the reasoning “why” is the forbidden fruit from the bible.. we need to come together back to oneness
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Yes, ‘free will’, or the compulsion to question ‘why’, that came with the emergence of consciousness, is central to the presentation. For example, Jeremy explains in this interview that the story of Adam and Eve taking the fruit of knowledge is a pre-scientific metaphor for the emergence of consciousness and its clash with our pre-established, cooperative loving instincts, resulting in humans becoming psychologically upset or ‘sinful’ or ‘evil’. And using the Adam Stork story, THE Interview explains that in order to master or champion our free will the conscious mind had to defy or ignore our instinctive orientations, and it was this defiance of our instincts that resulted in humans becoming angry, egocentric and alienated — the psychological upset state of our human condition.
What is so extraordinary about this breakthrough is we can now understand the fundamental reason why people want more than they need; we can now understand the source of greed and competition and the need for power. When the conscious mind went in search of knowledge a conflict between our instinct and intellect broke out, leading to an undeserved sense of guilt and insecurity that caused us to become psychologically defensive, angry, alienated and egocentric, the upset state we refer to as the human condition—a state we sought to alleviate through a competitive, selfish and aggressive bid for the reinforcement we could gain from winning power, fame, fortune and glory. But now that we can explain and understand this conflict and the guilt it produced, all those insecure, defensive behaviours are obsoleted, brought to an end, and we free ourselves from the human condition allowing us to “to come together back to oneness”.

This was an enthralling interview
Diana C Salmon
Human beings all interconnected … we need to treat others with love and respect and do good to others. It’s our moral obligation to each other.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Hi Diana, as THE Interview explains, the only way we could legitimately return to our loving, interconnected and moral natural state was by answering the essential question of why, when the ideals of life are to be cooperative, loving and selfless, are we so competitive, unloving and selfish? ‘Legitimately’ because at last we have the first principle-based science which actually resolves our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it. This is what Jeremy Griffith’s treatise does and why it is heralded as being able to fix the world. Having this core mystery and problem of our behaviour solved ends all the conflict and suffering in human life at its source, and provides the now urgently needed road map for the complete rehabilitation and transformation of our lives and world, so it couldn’t be a bigger breakthrough. Our FAQ 6.5 also clarifies that this understanding is not another new age-type false start to a new world for humans that can’t and doesn’t last.

Very insightful! Humanity can be saved but the evil ones won’t go down without a fight.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thank you for your comment Thomas and yes you are right this insight can save humanity! Since what is being introduced is a new paradigm of knowledge about humans it does take a little time to see it does present the universal solution to all our destructive and defensive behaviour, even fight back to change. In THE Interview Jeremy Griffith explains that all humans are born with loving moral instincts but we all now variously suffer from a psychosis brought about by the conscious mind’s necessary yet corrupting search for knowledge. So we can now understand that in the extreme that psychologically upset state produces extremely destructive and selfish behaviour, what we have historically described as ‘evil’. Of course this breakthrough explanation doesn’t condone or sanction the horrendous atrocities humans can commit rather, through bringing compassionate understanding to the source of humans’ upset behaviour, it gives us the power to ameliorate and thus subside and ultimately eliminate it, see FAQ 1.38 ‘Aren’t some people just born psychopathic, or even ‘evil’? / How does this explanation rehabilitate people capable of ‘evil’ behaviour? / Does this condone ‘evil’ behaviour?’. As the distinguished psychiatrist Professor Harry Prosen (who wrote the Introduction to Jeremy’s definitive book FREEDOM) said “I have no doubt Jeremy Griffith’s biological explanation of the human condition is the holy grail of insight we have sought for the psychological rehabilitation of the human race.” Also we suggest our FAQ 1.40 ‘How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’. It explains that “Even those who were most committed to defensively seeking validation through gaining power and material goods, including those entrenched in positions of power, will quickly realise how empty and obsolete that strategy is now that we have the fully accountable, psychosis-addressing-and-solving, real biological explanation of the human condition that proves our worth at the most fundamental level.”

Hello I find jeremys argument very compelling as often wonder why we are what we are and then struggle with the point of existing amd the reason for that considering our capacities. Im not in anyway medical theolovical ortherly trained. It is massively interesting to know that our nervous system and our gut are so alive and instructive, also ive always believed humans are inherently good. This i have enjoyed Maybe there is hope for all Thank you jeremy And matt3
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thank you for sharing your thoughts Scott. Despite our competitive and selfish behaviour, we have always intuitively believed we were fundamentally good, but we have never been able to explain this contradictory, conflicted condition. Also, while Christianity and other religions contain all manner of truths about human life, it is all from a pre-scientific view. Ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy Griffith presents in THE Interview and his definitive book FREEDOM.
Maria-Cristina
Where is God, our Creator and Jesus, our Savior in all of these findings?
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Hi Maria-Cristina, thank you for your questions. We certainly respect people’s religious views and feel it is important to mention that biologist Jeremy Griffith’s work doesn’t contradict a belief in God or Christianity. It simply brings biological understanding to all those pre-scientific concepts. In fact Jeremy considers the Bible to be a repository of extremely rare denial-free truth, containing all the truth about human life albeit from a pre-science view and has written about Christ’s life and its phenomenal importance in humanity’s journey in his Freedom Essay 39 ‘Christ explained’.
Although this is science, it is based on a Godly nature in the sense of recognising, like all the great religions do, that we humans once lived in a pre-human-condition-afflicted state of original innocence where we were perfectly instinctively orientated to the cooperative, selfless, loving, ‘Godly’ ideals of life, a state that we subsequently ‘corrupted’ with the emergence of free will; ‘God’ being explained as the integrative meaning of life, see FAQ 6.2 ‘What is the meaning of life? / What is the Integrative Meaning of existence? / What is God?’; we also recommend FAQ 6.3 ‘Does this undermine religion/God?’. The difference being that we can now with the benefit of science, bring clarifying, first-principle biological explanation to our so-called ‘good and evil’-afflicted human condition and why we had to depart from our original innocence, whilst religion had to rely on metaphor and a more literal interpretation.
Also in dealing with such a historically difficult subject for us humans, these biological explanations of the human condition are, by nature, very confronting and although ultimately represent a fulfilment of religion (explained in FAQ 6.3 mentioned above), they do demystify religious concepts which some people can find very challenging, so we encourage everyone to take their time investigating what’s being presented. For instance in Part 2 of THE Interview it is explained we can now understand it is science that is the liberator or saviour of mankind. The host Craig Conway summarises that, “science’s discovery of the way genes and nerves work has finally made it possible for the liberation of humanity from the horror of the human condition”, to which Jeremy replies, “Yes, that is the essential truth: science is the liberator, the so-called ‘messiah’ or ‘redeemer’ of humankind, as we always hoped it would be!” This explanation really does represent a huge demystification of our world but, as mentioned, there is great respect given to those who prefer a more literal interpretation.

Paul o Latu
The intellect vs instinct interview of Psychologist Jeremy Griffith by Craig is a very interesting finding. Thank you for allowing us humans to look down upon our journey intelligibly, to Our own guilty situation, to let go of dogmatic understanding of being guilty all the time and turn to the tree of life to enjoy it and live freely. To stop the wars of killing each other and have the understanding of being good people and escape such human guilty situation from the beginning and move on. I wish this understanding could convince the world leaders to end the wars. Humanity should now turn the Tree of life principle and live full of life and not full of judgemental presupposition. we turn to think suspiciously of everyone we meet in life. National government immigration Policies influenced by such judgemental thought of looking badly at people. Not everyone is bad, there vare good people who help o make life better but not known. We need to help everyone out. the land does not belong to policy makers, but the one who created it. Guilty dogma is the result of our turning to eat the fruits of the “tree of knowing good and bad” and be judgemental rather than the “tree of life”. If I may add, from Jeremy scenario, Adam turned to the side from the pathway he was led to follow. If only he did not, he would have arrived at the tree of life, allowed for him rather than the tree of knowledge of good and evil - which was to our own being justice deciders. In my view, Justice was for the creator only. adam was only allowed the tree of life, not the tree of Good and evil. In consequence, adam reap what he chose for. That is the source of human guilty dogma. This, I submit with respect to such a very significant findng Jeremy Grifith. Thanks Craig. If only the world could love each other as Jesus loved us. Ofa atu from Tonga.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thank you for your thoughts Paul, we greatly appreciate your interest. The human condition is the realm of inquiry where science and religion overlap and just as Nobel Prize-winning physicist Charles H. Townes said “they [science and religion] both represent man’s efforts to understand his universe and must ultimately be dealing with the same substance. As we understand more in each realm, the two must grow together…converge they must”. So Jeremy Griffith’s reconciling understanding of the human condition at last makes it possible to explain and demystify all mythology, including all the parables and stories in the Bible, see our FAQ 1.15 ‘If this is biology, why the religious references’. For instance, as Jeremy explains in Part 2 of THE Interview, the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden is a metaphor for the conscious mind going in search of knowledge in the presence of pre-established loving instincts, and how the conscious mind was in effect ‘condemned’ by those instincts, and as a result became ‘upset’ or angry, egocentric and alienated. So the metaphor of eating the fruit is symbolic of us defying our cooperative instinctive self in order to begin searching for knowledge, which was what consciousness required. In religious terminology, we can now understand from scientific first principles that ‘Adam and Eve’ were ‘good’ to search for knowledge, not bad or ‘evil’ or ‘sinful’; we humans are actually the absolute heroes of the whole story! This is what is so significant about Jeremy’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition — it finally explains the real reason for why humans’ selfish, competitive and destructive behaviour became an unavoidable, indeed necessary, part of human life. And with our goodness biologically established, we no longer need to feel ashamed and guilty for having corrupted our original innocent all-loving instinctive self or soul. It is this explanation that removes the burden of guilt from humanity and solves all the confusion, frustration and suffering in human life at its source so we can actually stop the angry destruction of ourselves and the planet and save the world. It couldn’t be a bigger breakthrough — just as you say we can “let go of our dogmatic understanding of being guilty all the time”. We suggest FAQ 1.5 ‘Why is this understanding important to my life’ and FAQ 1.40 ‘How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’.

FIX THE WORLD Admin
It is wonderful you have come across Jeremy Griffith’s work Patricia and we encourage you to watch THE Interview which is the ideal introduction to his explanation of the human condition. What you will discover is this explanation finally brings us all home from our lost positions as it reveals the incredible meaning and heroism of the human journey from ignorance to enlightenment. Importantly, Jeremy emphasises the suffering we have all variously endured under the duress of the human condition is not pointless or without meaning, on the contrary, it lay on the path of a sublime purpose: to fulfill the potential of our conscious thinking mind, explain and thus gain freedom from our upset condition, and thereby reconcile with and resurrect our cooperative, loving and selfless moral nature. Jeremy has written a remarkable book Our Meaning with has the subtitle How being able to know and fulfil the great objective and meaning of human existence finally ends human suffering. To elaborate, in the ‘Summary’ of this book Jeremy writes: “When the author and philosopher Antoine de Saint-Exupéry wrote that ‘We are living through deeply anxious days, and if we are to relieve our anxiety we must diagnose its cause… What is the meaning of man? To this question no answer is being offered, and I have the feeling that we are moving toward the darkest era our world has ever known’, he was recognising that being able to know ‘the meaning’ of human suffering; know the reason for it; be able to explain our corrupted or ‘fallen’ human condition in fact, is what has been needed to end human suffering. And at the 11th hour for our species, that is now possible with this ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of our psychologically troubled human condition.” We suggest what people come to appreciate, which is what is so significant and relieving about Jeremy’s work, is we no longer have to be burdened by the fundamental question of whether we are good or bad because our core goodness as individuals and as a species has been biologically established. We can know our psychological upset was the price humans had to pay for searching for knowledge and that the human story represents the greatest, most heroic story ever told. Our Meaning and all of Jeremy’s books and publications are freely available here on our website.

The underlying cause is man’s inability to stop responding to and embodying corruption of our spirit. Its called spiritual morality, and many work on this all the time. Corruption has caused us to decimate the world’s resources. Whether you like it or not, many people already know these problems and the solutions! This is not new information at all. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents in THE Interview and his book FREEDOM. We suggest FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this original or new?’ which explains the unique significance of Jeremy Griffith’s work.

A heartfelt analysis - but it does not take into account the tremendous influence of religious politics on human behaviour. Also, for mankind to achieve the goals discussed here would require total and simultaneous acceptance of a unified approach. And we know in these times how difficult that will be given, the dictates of some religious leaders.
The tree in the Garden of Eden was by my lore, the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. By tasting its fruit, Adam and Eve were made aware of good and evil and therefore became responsible to making the choice by their free will. To choose good over evil requires the reawakening of the divine image in which we were all created.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thanks Leah. As THE Interview explains, the story of Adam and Eve is a pre-scientific metaphor for the emergence of consciousness and its clash with our pre-established, cooperative loving instincts. When the conscious mind emerged, we had to search for knowledge in order to learn how to use this wonderful tool for self, management, however, when we inevitably deviated from our naturally selected orientations, those instincts in effect criticised the conscious mind, resulting in humans becoming psychologically upset or ‘sinful’ or ‘evil’. However, significantly we can now understand, from scientific first principles, that ‘Adam and Eve’ were ‘good’ to search for knowledge, not bad or ‘evil’; we humans are actually the absolute heroes of the whole story! You might be interested in our FAQs about religion.
This knowledge presents a huge paradigm shift in our thinking but what is so extraordinary about Jeremy Griffith’s treatise is that it logically and accountably defends human selfishness and egocentricity. It is that defence of our ‘dark side’, through finding the good reason that we had to defy our instincts, that means all our defensive behaviours (our anger, egocentricity and alienation) are now redundant. We no longer need them because we have the real defense for why we had to defy our instincts. And because this is a rational, accountable, scientific explanation, everyone will eventually take it up. So while it may take time for everyone to access this breakthrough (because the human condition has historically been such a fearful, off-limits topic), once this catches on through people recognising the importance of it and supporting it, the infectious enthusiasm and selfless love it liberates will spread like wildfire. You may be interested in FAQ 1.40 which addresses the questions ‘How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’.

FIX THE WORLD Admin
Yes, all the problems in the world that we are facing like over population, environmental devastation, genocide, terrorism, mass displacement of peoples, starvation, runaway diseases, gross inequality, ‘racial’ and gender oppression, polarised politics, rampant corruption and other crimes, drug abuse, family breakdown, and epidemic levels of obesity, chronic anxiety, depression, unhappiness and loneliness, are all symptoms of a deeper problem. To truly solve the world’s problems we need to address and fix the underlying issue responsible for these problems, which is the human condition – our corrupted, psychologically upset state.
Now we can understand the human condition, we can see that everyone has suffered from it, and all our institutions, including our governments and media, have been a manifestation of our insecure, psychologically upset condition. Only solving the human condition, addressing the source of our selfish psychological upset (what historically has been termed ‘evil’), could we achieve real and lasting change and stop the destruction of our world that is happening everywhere we look. You may find these FAQs helpful, FAQ 1.6 ‘Why does understanding solve everything’ and FAQ 1.40 ‘How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power?’

As a long time student of consciousness, I would first assert that our conscious awareness is a dual-pronged tool...while liberating us from instinct and establishing “free will”, it establishes and reinforces the illusion of separateness and is the foundation of what we know as ego. Animals have their instincts...we have our egos. Ego, at base level is a choice making function. independent thought, or ego, sets us on divergent pathways very different from pure instinct, Free will produces the likes of Rene Descartes, the
Buddha, Socrates, albert Einstein, Nikola Tesla AND Adoph Hitler, Kim Jong -Il, Charles Manson, Joseph Stalin, Idi Amin, Jim Jones, Donald Trump, etc. Obviously, free will is responsible for great ideas, noble visions and great deeds, as well as horrendous visions, and incomprehensibly horrible deeds. Free will has led to a great deal more misery and mayhem than instinct ever could. I daresay their is no ‘cure’ for the so-called human condition. It has not improved. All of our visionaries and great thinkers have not advanced the human condition. The only cure I can glean from this condition is the liberation from our illusion of separateness which accompanies an understanding of what ‘free will’ actually is. I do not think that using the term “THE Interview” advances this cause in any conceivable way. I am very open to engaging in discussion on this topic, if there is any openness to alternative views. As an afterthought, ‘learnabiity’ is a key issue here, and I would guess, a significant barrier to progress in your mission. With the utmost respect and reverance, Edward L. Davis Ph. D.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thanks for your thoughts Edward. We suggest that we can now understand that to master the incredible potential of the conscious mind’s ability to self-manage, or our ‘free will’, the mind had to defy our loving but dictatorial instincts which resulted in humans becoming angry, egocentric and alienated — the upset state of our human condition. Significantly psychological upset or a psychosis can be healed with understanding, so our upset behaviour is not unchangeable or immutable – a revelation that transforms the human race!
And we suggest that the more you digest Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation, the more you will realise how accountable it is in getting to the source of all humanity’s psychological upset, which in the extreme, produces people who are capable of cruelty. As the late Professor Harry Prosen, psychiatrist and former president of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, said: ‘I have no doubt Jeremy Griffith’s biological explanation of the human condition is the holy grail of insight we have sought for the psychological rehabilitation of the human race.’
With regard to ‘learnability’, all we would say is that this knowledge, despite the key ‘instinct vs intellect’ concept being very simple, presents a huge paradigm shift in our thinking and so it does take time to absorb. It also needs to be born in mind that the human condition can be initially difficult to access as it has been the most terrifying of subjects to face because it is the issue of whether we are fundamentally good or bad as a species, and we have necessarily lived in almost total denial of it. We suggest looking at Video/Freedom Essay 1 titled ‘Your block to the most wonderful of all gifts’ where Jeremy Griffith explains this initial ‘deaf effect’ and how to overcome it, which is also summarised in FAQ 1.16. However, as the ecstatic responses THE Interview is receiving on our homepage, and the rapidly growing appreciation and support for FIX THE WORLD with outstanding commendations from thought leaders and FIX THE WORLD Centres all over the world, this initial Deaf Effect is being overcome.

As i continued to listen to the interview, i realized this problem is pretty much down to government and even religion for the great divider. This is going to be tough to fix, being we have been subjected to this brainwashing for thousands of years. Our only saving grace is there are more good people on this earth than bad.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Trevor, what is presented in THE Interview explains that the basis of all the dysfunction and destruction in the world, including aggressive governments or organisations, or their leaders, are manifestations of the ‘instinct vs intellect’ conflict within each of us. Even though we civilise it in our every day behaviour, the truth is that we are all extremely psychologically upset. What is so important about what Jeremy Griffith presents is that it actually solves that discord at the individual level, and therefore at every other level, by reconciling instinct and intellect. By explaining the very good reason why our intellect had to defy our instincts (which is that genes can orientate but nerves need to understand) means all our defensive behaviours (our anger, egocentricity and alienation), are now redundant. You might be interested in reading more in FAQ 1.6: Why this solves everything. Also, see our FAQ 1.40 which addresses the questions of ‘Aren’t the problems of the world too overwhelming to ever be fixed? / Isn’t it too late to save the world? / How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’

Everyone needs to hear this insightful interview

We’ve seen real cases of the true human condition when children were shipwrecked on a desert island - they did not revert to primitives, but cooperated and saved each other.
It is great to hear this so clearly and be able to identify those who are in psychosis - self-imposed alienation (feeling that their race or religion is chosen), anger at the rest of humanity and egocentricity.
I stopped trying to seek validation, but decided to value peace above everything else in my life.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thanks for your thoughts Yong. It follows that children are born cooperative and loving, and so your anecdote about children on a desert island rings true.
You might be interested in Freedom Essay 30: Resignation in which Jeremy explains how the innocence of children is absolutely devastated by the psychologically upset world of adults. ‘Resignation’ is the period in our early teens when we face and wrestle deeply with the issue of not only the imperfection of the non-ideal human-condition-stricken world around us, but also of the imperfection of our own behaviour — that we too suffer from anger, selfishness, meanness and indifference to others. But having no prior understanding of the human condition, and thus no answer to this confronting self-realisation, meant that the more we each grappled with the issue, the more depressing our thinking became until we realised that we had no choice but to ‘resign’ to living in denial of it. As Jeremy explains in Part 2 of this interview, “we’ve had to live in denial of our corrupted, psychologically upset condition while we couldn’t explain it”, which required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents here.

I really don’t see what is new here. Going back to Freud at least the battle between the ego and the id (instincts) was elaborated on. We can go back even to to the Buddha (500BC) who described in great detail the cause of suffering and taught a clear path to liberation. I can’t believe this is being touted as an amazing discovery by science. Scientists are always late to the game.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
While Buddhism and other religions contain all manner of truths about human life, it is all from a pre-scientific view. Ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents in THE Interview and his definitive book FREEDOM: The End Of The Human Condition.
In FREEDOM, and other works, Jeremy acknowledges Sigmund Freud’s courageous recognition that humans carry negative, repressed elements of our personality, a ‘repressed unconscious’. However, beyond that, there is very little similarity between Jeremy’s explanation of the human condition and Freud’s thinking. Freud believed that the ‘ID’, our unconscious, instinctive mind, contained primitive selfish ‘savage’ urges that the conscious mind or ‘ego’ has to control, whereas Jeremy has now explained that our instinctive self is completely loving and cooperative, and that our aggressive and selfish behaviour is psychological in origin, the result of a clash between our instincts and intellect. Freud also believed that our morals are learnt and held by the superego, whereas Jeremy has now explained that they are the expression of our loving, cooperative moral soul or instincts. By starting from the false basis that we have ‘savage instincts’ that the ego had to control and mediate meant that Freud was not able to explain the ultimate source of human’s psychological problems. The clarifying explanation of the difference between instinctive orientations and conscious understandings presented in THE Interview is this longed for explanation of the source of our upset, and the key to rehabilitating all the subsequent manifestations of the human condition. We recommend reading FAQ 1.47 “How does Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition differ from the theories of Freud or Jung?”,
In Part 4 of THE Interview Jeremy defines the word ‘psychosis’ saying “The psychoanalyst Carl Jung said, ‘wholeness for humans depends on the ability to own our own shadow’, and since we can now ‘own’ the ‘shadow’ of our species’ 2-million-year-corrupted condition, the human race is finally in a position to become ‘whole’. The word ‘psychosis’ literally means ‘soul-illness’ and ‘psychiatry’ literally means ‘soul-healing’ (derived as they are from psyche meaning ‘soul’, osis meaning ‘abnormal state or condition’ and iatreia meaning ‘healing’), but we have never been able to ‘heal our soul’, explain to our original instinctive self or soul that we, our fully conscious thinking self, is good and not bad and by so doing reconcile and heal our split selves—but now at last we can.”

There are some very compelling and important points made here. However, I was personally quite distressed to hear Jeremy Griffith say that sociopolitical leftists have been a hindrance rather than an aid to human evolution, by striving to promote equality, tolerance, understanding, justice, peace, fairness,.cooperation and the like; and that right wingers have actually helped the human condition by promoting and furthering divisiveness, intolerance, racism, hatred, sociopolitical inequality, oppression and Injustice. And yet these are the very traits and factors that have contributed to the horrific brutality and suffering that characterize so much of our world today. Unfortunately, this makes me question much else that he says, and or his goals in doing so. Nevertheless, I do still think he makes very interesting and valuable points
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thanks for your consideration John - we do appreciate your thoughts. Jeremy Griffith’s work opens up a new way of thinking so it takes a little time to fully absorb this new paradigm – and the human condition does present the ultimate paradox! The biological ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition allows us to understand the real merits and liabilities of both the left and right wing. His work identifies that the problem of the right-wing is its destructiveness, however, through its support of egocentricity and selfishness, it does encourage the search for knowledge to continue. However the left wing’s insistence on ideal behaviour had the effect of oppressing and thus regressing, not ‘progressing’, the all-important search for knowledge. Most importantly, this understanding brings a profound understanding to both sides which ultimately will bring an end to the whole ugly business of politics. This is fully explained in our FAQs about politics.

How does the work of Wilhelm Reich relate to your work? What do you say about ancient indigenous wisdom?
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Hi George, Jeremy Griffith mentions Wilhelm Reich in several publications including his main book FREEDOM and Freedom Essay 28 ‘The end of racism’. For instance to quote from Essay 28: “The longer and/ or more intensely an individual or a race of people were subjected to life under the duress of the human condition, the more they naturally became adapted to that upset existence. While a relatively innocent person or relatively innocent race still behaved relatively ideally themselves and expected others to do the same, other individuals and races became so adapted to the upset/ corrupt world that they no longer behaved ideally themselves and no longer expected others to behave ideally either. The longer humans were exposed to the human-condition-afflicted state the more cynical they became about human existence—a ‘cynic’ being ‘one who doubts or denies the goodness of human motives’. The psychiatrist Wilhelm Reich wrote honestly about the effects of the different levels of upset in the human race when he described how ‘The living [those relatively free of exposure to upset]… is naively kindly… It assumes that the fellow human also follows the laws of the living and is kindly, helpful and giving. As long as there is the emotional plague [the flood of upset in the world], this natural basic attitude, that of the healthy child or the primitive [innocent race]… [is subject to] the greatest danger… For the plague individual also ascribes to his fellow beings the characteristics of his own thinking and acting. The kindly individual believes that all people are kindly and act accordingly. The plague individual believes that all people lie, swindle, steal and crave power. Clearly, then, the living is at a disadvantage and in danger.’”

Is this a religion? Buy your books etc
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Hi Ian, thanks for your question. No, this is not a religion; what Jeremy Griffith is presenting is first principle-based, rational, testable, biological understanding of the human condition which has attracted the support of eminent scientists and thinkers (see our Commendations page). There is no faith or belief involved, it’s all about knowledge. This realm of inquiry is, however, where science and religion overlap—as the Nobel prize-winning physicist Charles H. Townes recognised, science and religion “both represent man’s efforts to understand his universe and must ultimately be dealing with the same substance. As we understand more in each realm, the two must grow together…converge they must.” So naturally in explaining the human condition the terms ‘good and evil’ and religious references are used, and through scientific explanation, finally demystified and reconciled. We recommend reading our FAQ 6.1 ‘Is this a religion?’.

Timothy M. J. Rees
“Why are humans psychologically troubled?”
Jeremy Griffith, like many historians and philosophers, is searching for answers—but his claim that the human condition is finally solved and the world can now be fixed can be misleading.
He claims to fully explain human nature, yet leaves our origins unclear, prompting the deeper question: “Who created us?” If, as many traditions hold, God made man in His own image, then without that grounding we are like a tree without roots. Humanity remains a paradox—we create and we destroy—and as C. S. Lewis observed, “Each new power won by man is a power over man as well.” Intelligence is not the problem; it is how we
choose to use it.
Thomas Hobbes, though a historian as well as a philosopher, argued that the problem lies in human nature itself—people are driven by self-interest, fear, and competition, and without restraint, life descends into a state he described as “nasty, brutish, and short.”
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Hi Timothy, firstly THE Interview is a summary presentation of biologist Jeremy Griffith’s definitive book FREEDOM and provides references to more comprehensive material throughout. In this one hour presentation Jeremy presents his ‘instinct vs intellect’ treatise that does explain and solve the human condition and which the outstanding commendations from scientists and thought leaders it has received attests to so there is absolutely nothing misleading about this presentation.
Jeremy explains in this interview that all humans are born with all-loving moral instincts (not “nasty, brutish” animal instincts) but now variously suffer from a psychosis due to the human condition, which was caused by the conscious mind’s necessary search for knowledge. What is so important about this explanation is that it finally explains the real reason for why our selfish and competitive behaviour became an unavoidable, indeed necessary, part of human life and by so doing establishes our fundamental goodness. Part 3 especially evidences this key biological distinction that humans suffer from the conscious-mind-based, psychologically troubled human condition, not the genetic-opportunism-based, animal condition. And, most significantly, as Part 4 explains, a psychosis can be healed with understanding, so our psychologically upset human nature is not immutable, we can change.
In terms of our origins, Part 3 (titled ‘How did we humans acquire our instinctive cooperative and loving moral conscience?’) explains other animals are driven by gene-based natural selection and the essential fact or rule of natural selection is that genes are unavoidably selfish. One brilliant aspect of Jeremy’s work is his explanation of how humans biologically overcame this genetic limitation through what he identifies as the ‘love-indoctrination’ process, which produced our genuinely all-loving, altruistic instincts. He uses the example of the extraordinarily cooperative bonobos, who have developed this ‘love-indoctrination’ process to a lesser degree. So, to quote Jeremy, all these aspects are examined, most fully in FREEDOM: “1) Darwin’s natural selection explanation for the variety of species; 2) [John] Fiske’s and my nurturing explanation for our moral instincts; 3) the instinct vs intellect explanation that I’ve given for the human condition; 4) the explanation I give in chapter 7 of FREEDOM for how we humans became fully conscious when other species haven’t; and 5) the Negative-Entropy-driven integrative meaning of existence (which we have personified as ‘God’) that I explain in chapter 4 of FREEDOM—which together are the five main questions science has had to answer about our world and place in it”.
Through Jeremy’s explanation, we can also now understand that while the corrupting search for liberating knowledge was underway religion played a significant role as both the custodian of the ideal state and as a means of solace for those exhausted by that corrupting journey. However, it follows that with the redeeming biological understanding of why we had to depart from our original innocence now found, those metaphysical, faith-based accounts that looked after us become redundant. In fact, what people discover is Jeremy’s work actually reconciles science and religion by bringing biological understanding to pre-scientific concepts; that it presents the fulfilment of a time that all religions looked forward to when we could actually explain ourselves, see FAQ 6.3 ‘Does understanding of the human condition undermine a faith in religion or God?’.
Yes, intelligence has not been the problem; the problem has been knowledge, or a lack of it; in particular, our inability to explain why we defied our loving instincts. Until we had that defence we have had no choice but to continue the corrupting search for knowledge. However, now that redeeming understanding has been found we can finally end our psychologically troubled human condition and legitimately return to a cooperative way of living. So, in a world fast going crazy from the effects of the human condition, this is the now desperately needed reconciling understanding that brings about a new world free of the agony of the human condition.
DWM
Fascinating or not, true or not, what exactly do you hope to prove with this. It’s not like the entire world is going to watch this interview and decide to change. This effort is a colossal waste of time and will never change anything. I guess people do need something to do though to make them feel important. Sorry, Just expressing my human condition.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
The only way to end the unthinkable suffering, destruction and terminal alienation that is happening everywhere we look was to deal with the source of our species’ corrupted human condition and bring relieving understanding to it, which is what Jeremy Griffith’s treatise does and why it is heralded as the biological breakthrough that can fix the world. In our FAQ 1.6 ‘Why does understanding of the human condition solve everything?’ it is explained that, “While issues such as the environment have dominated concerns in recent times, the obvious truth is that we have only been focusing on the symptoms; everything to date has been nothing more than a band-aid. All the problems we’re experiencing on this planet, aside from natural phenomenon, are caused by us humans. We are the ones who are egocentric, selfish, greedy, materialistic, fake, angry as hell. And so it’s that underlying issue — our destructively behaved, so-called human condition — that really has to be addressed and fixed if we are to solve the world’s problems.
Only the psychosis-addressing-and-solving, real explanation of the human condition can stop the destruction of our world and the disintegration of society that is happening everywhere we look. And it is precisely this realpsychologically redeeming, relieving and transforming explanation that biologist Jeremy Griffith has delivered in his first principle-based biological understanding of the human condition."
As with any new scientific breakthrough it will take time to reach the whole world, and because the human condition has historically been such a terrifying realm, no-where is this resistance greater than when attempting to bring understanding to the human condition – but with enough people developing a deep appreciation and desire to support it our problems will be solved very quickly (see FAQ 1.40 ‘How can you hope to transform the world?’). And this is happening! Just read the ecstatic responses THE Interview is receiving on our homepage and for the growing momentum of support that is building around the world see the thousands of impressive commendations Jeremy’s work has received from thought leaders and members of the public, and the over 80 FIX THE WORLD Centres that have opened across the globe.

Absolutely 💯 fascinating 👏.
My hypnotherapy is us as human cant cope with opening higher capacity of its brain .
Which makes it physically n mentally 🤔 overwelling.
So as we physically advance our counsioness will catch up.
Just a thought.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Hi Grant, yes being able to understand the human condition at last is absolutely fascinating! This explanation introduces an entirely new framework of knowledge, a massive paradigm shift in how we view ourselves and our world, so it does take time to see it has been our fear of the human condition that has been overwhelming and has limited our consciousness. As Jeremy Griffith explains in THE Interview the human condition is the most fearful of subjects because it’s the issue of whether we are fundamentally good or bad. So until we could understand our condition—that is, understand why we humans are competitive, aggressive and selfish when the universal ideals are to be cooperative, loving and selfless—all we sensibly could do was practice almost total denial of it. But now that our corrupted condition is truthfully explained and made safe to confront and admit, honesty replaces denial and the world heals. We can understand our selfish and destructive behaviour is not a product of savage animal instincts within us, but the result of a universal psychosis caused by the unavoidable clash between our instinct and intellect. And, most significantly, as Part 4 explains a psychosis can be healed with understanding, so our psychologically upset condition is fixable or changeable—not unchangeable. As Jeremy says in Part 2 “since our species’ divisive behaviour is due to a psychosis, that divisive behaviour can be cured with healing understanding. So that is very good news. In fact, incredibly exciting news, because with understanding we can finally end our psychologically troubled human condition. It’s the understanding of ourselves that we needed to heal the pain in our brains and become sound and sane again.” You might enjoy reading our FAQ 1.5 ‘Why is understanding the human condition important to my life?’ which explains this further
Lee Grothe
Elimination of the Love of Money will remove most of the evil in the world.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Hi Lee, what is so extraordinary about this breakthrough is that we can now understand the fundamental reason why people “love money” and want more than they need; we can now understand the source of our greed, and more generally, materialism. When the conscious mind went in search of knowledge a conflict between our instinct and intellect broke out, leading to an undeserved sense of guilt and insecurity that caused us to become psychologically defensive, angry, alienated and egocentric — the upset state we refer to as the human condition, a state we sought to alleviate through a competitive, selfish and aggressive bid for the reinforcement we could gain from winning power, fame, fortune and glory. This is the underlying source of our selfishness and greed. But now that we can explain and understand this conflict and the guilt and insecurity it produced, all those defensive behaviours are obsoleted, brought to an end, and we free ourselves from the human condition, see our FAQ 1.6 ‘Why does understanding of the human condition solve everything?’ and FAQ 1.40 which answers the questions of ‘How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful?’.

FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thank you for your comment Margaret. It needs to be emphasised that the subject of the human condition that Jeremy Griffith’s treatise addresses is the most important but also the most difficult and thus contentious of all subjects for humans to address because it deals with the ultimate confronting issue of ‘self’. When the renowned Harvard biologist E.O. Wilson wrote, ‘There is no grail more elusive or precious in the life of the mind than the key to understanding the human condition’ (The Social Conquest of Earth, 2012, p.1), he was making this point that while ‘understanding the human condition’ is the most ‘precious’ ‘grail’ of science, it is also the most ‘elusive’ ‘grail’ because the subject is the most difficult of all subjects for humans to engage with. It therefore has to be expected that Jeremy’s treatise on the human condition can cause hostile unfair attacks on it.
With that consideration in mind, we strongly recommend that everyone, such as yourself, who has concerns about the scientific validity of Jeremy’s treatise on the human condition, read our FAQ 1.10 ‘Why Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition is verifiable, testable science’ as it addresses the full range of criticisms Jeremy’s treatise has attracted from those accustomed to science’s prevailing human-condition-avoiding, mechanistic paradigm—providing as it does, the following information: “A summary of the scientific veracity of Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition / ‘Why Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition necessarily challenges mechanistic science / Why Jeremy Griffith’s work developed outside the traditional peer review system / Why Jeremy Griffith’s inductive, testable treatise is real science — just like Darwin’s / Why it is being so strongly asserted that Jeremy Griffith’s scientific explanation of the human condition is the real explanation of the human condition/ Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition is not a ‘non-falsifiable’, circular argument / Why Jeremy Griffith’s treatise fulfill’s science’s ultimate goal”.
Mark
All information about human nature is in the Bible.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thank you for your comment Mark. We certainly respect people’s religious views however we felt it was important to mention that Jeremy Griffith’s work doesn’t contradict the Bible. In fact Jeremy considers the Bible to be a repository of extremely rare denial-free truth, containing all the truth about human life albeit from a pre-science view. Ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy Griffith presents in THE Interview and his book FREEDOM. What Jeremy is putting forward is that for there to be a fundamental change in our human situation we had to understand the human condition – humans’ capacity for good and evil – from a biological perspective. The real issue is if people prefer a more literal fundamentalist interpretation of scripture rather than our more biological, science-based interpretation. For those interested in exploring this further we suggest FAQ 6.3 ‘Does understanding of the human condition undermine a faith in religion or God?’.

Hi Miguel and thank you for your comment and encouragement. It does take time to see this understanding presents the universal solution to all the problems we face and how it can fix the world (see FAQ 1.40 ‘How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power?'). What is unique about Jeremy Griffith’s work is it gets to the original source of all the “atrocious crimes” humans can commit and why we so desire power and seek to “rule, enslave, exploit” others whether it be in the name of religion or not. As the distinguished psychiatrist Professor Harry Prosen (who wrote the Introduction to Jeremy’s definitive book FREEDOM) said: “What Griffith is presenting is understanding of the source insecurity that the whole human race suffers from for having destroyed our species’ innocent soul. So the real psychotherapy of our collective and individual psychoses can begin” (see FAQ 1.34).
Also the human condition is the study of humans’ capacity for so-called ‘good and evil’ and is therefore the realm of inquiry where science and religion overlap, so in explaining the human condition religion is demystified and explained. Jeremy’s treatise actually reconciles science and religion by bringing biological understanding to pre-scientific concepts. With regard to religious doctrine, with this explanation we can understand the more upset people became, the more they needed to try to obey the ‘Godly’ ideals of life that religions taught, but the problem was such condemnation of upset behaviour could be extremely terrorising and oppressive. Obviously what was desperately missing was reconciling understanding of our upset behaviour and the Godly ideals; reconciling understanding of the human condition in fact—which is exactly what Jeremy presents us with. So no longer does anybody have to be terrorised by religious dogma. They can understand what such religious doctrine was providing (even though it could be hurtful) and the great role religions played in humanity’s journey (see FAQ 6.3 about understanding religion).

Most are awed by what is going on in our world, and this is something that I wouldn’t miss for anything. Survival is our highest goal during our lifetimes. I cannot wait to hear and share this information!!!!
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thanks Barbara, you won’t be dissapointed. We now have the ability, for the first time, to understand every aspect of human behaviour and our behaviour will change naturally as a result. At last we can understand we have been driven by a deep insecurity about our fundamental goodness or worth and so now that our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living. ‘Legitimately’ because at last we have the first principle-based science which liberates us to be honest about our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it.

I am thrilled to think that we will have a way out of our current mess. I’ve only watched half of the interview so far, but it is fascinating. The historical quotes are very interesting too. I’m mildly amused that the Adam and Eve story is actually really relevant. Too bad the real significance of it wasn’t realized sooner.
I will share this interview. Best wishes with the roll-out of the concept, book, website and interview.

You will never fix the world.
Read history.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
It does take a little time to fully absorb the significance of finally being able to explain the human condition. What it means is we now have the ability, for the first time in history, to understand every aspect of human behaviour and our behaviour will change naturally as a result. At last we can understand we have been driven by a deep insecurity about our fundamental goodness or worth and so now that our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living. ‘Legitimately’ because at last we have the first principle-based science which liberates us from our conflicted upset state instead of controlling or transcending it, which is what all previous efforts throughout history have had to attempt to do. But it was only by getting to the source of our behaviour and fixing it that we could actually ‘fix the world’. This is the rapidly transforming practical effect of being able to understand the human condition.
Tina
This makes so much sense.
It has always,“taken a village to raise a child”. Everyone pitching in for the good of everyone. Sharing the wealth; food, shelter and survival of the next generation.
Days when people did not lock there doors, gave to their neighbours and looked after the children (regardless who birthed them). Of wanting good for each over and banding together.
It is a shame to think we may now have to destroy ourselves completely (World War III). Go back to before the time of the industrial revolution. To then understand we are better together, (the greater good), than apart.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thanks very much Tina. Obviously, what is so significant about the explanation of the human conditon is that this understanding explains why we lost the state where, as you say, everyone was “pitching in for the good of everyone. Sharing the wealth; food, shelter and survival of the next generation.” But it is a redeeming explanation in that it actually defends our so-called ‘dark side’ and explains that despite all appearances to the contrary, all humans are ‘good’. And paradoxically, by explaining the very good reason why our intellect had to defy our instincts, it makes redundant our defensive behaviours of anger, egocentricity and alienation, allowing us to end the perpetuation of our destructive behaviour and return to the sharing state you describe!

If youve not worked out that our ego hads ruined the world you must be 3 years old
FIX THE WORLD Admin
The breakthrough presented here is not that our egos have ruined the world, but that there has been a good reason for it; an explanation that frees us from that question.
The question of the human condition is WHY do we no longer love one another—why when the universal ideals are to be loving and selfless are we so competitive and selfish? It is this crux question that Jeremy Griffith confronts and answers through first principle biology because only through understanding the dark side of ourselves—why we departed from our all-loving instincts and became selfish and egocentric—can we free ourselves from the human condition and legitimately love ourselves and each other again.

I can agree with this interview, life had a complex way of being understood, like speaking in parables…and the human mind is a complex thing. Only being able to use a percentage of it. That involved in time we’ll figure it out. Hopefully this will get us there. Thanks for your contribution to saving the human race from madness.

Trauma can disorient the mind?
We have no cure for trauma even though every human on this planet has suffered trauma!
I need the book!
FIX THE WORLD Admin
What is so significant about Jeremy Griffith’s instinct vs intellect explanation of the human condition is it reveals our selfish and competitive behaviour is the result of a psychosis, caused by the clash between our instinct and intellect. And a psychosis is changeable as it can be healed through understanding—specifically by the clarification Jeremy Griffith provides of the difference between the way instincts and nerves, works, see FAQ 1.3.
The human condition has caused so much pain and trauma that the relief we get from having it compassionately understood is almost unimaginable. If readers haven’t seen it already, they may find psychiatrist Professor Harry Prosen’s response to the question ‘How does understanding the human race’s condition help with an individual’s depression and psychosis?’ helpful: “the beauty of Griffith’s treatise is that the healing starts at the macro level of the universal human condition; the healing of the shame and blame that the whole human race has suffered from, which is non-personal and thus more easily confronted, absorbed and accepted. It brings the greater context and love to all human psychosis and suffering, and then, from under the umbrella of that safe position, everyone can gradually work inwards to their particular experience of all the imperfections in human life that have now, finally, been made sense of.” See FAQ 1.34. What is explained is that what is so significant about Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition is that we no longer have to be burdened by the fundamental question of whether we are good or bad because our core goodness as individuals and as a species has been biologically established. We can understand humans’ psychological upset was the price humans had to pay for searching for knowledge and that the human story presents the greatest, most heroic story ever told. We can at last understand the source of our upset and bring great compassion and kindness to ourselves and others.

The human condition nailed, dusted and philosophically debunked period!💯💯💯
Yes yes yes yes
I am a 47yr old Retired US Navy Chief Petty Officer. Who has been battling this internally for a long time and what to be a part of the solution. In an Official Capacity.
I want to learn why being human is so hard!
Awesome! Many have been thinking this for years I’m sure. I know I have. And to have put in action with sound scientific input is nothing short of amazing. Now we must figure out how to get it in action
It’s alot to digest. I want to explore this more.
Hi Dale, having the explanation of the human condition represents a huge paradigm shift, so i tdoes take time to digest, so please be patient. makes sense.
Nice one
I’m excited to hear the full interview!!!
Buy the book Freedom it will change your life ....
Yes, I am older, and I am seeking new answers! Thank you for awakening us to our higher senses! Please communicate more about this wonderful subject. Thank you!
Enjoyed watching this video!
I’m trying to learn about what has transpired with me in hopes of healing. I’m stepping into my new world with love and strength; expanding my understanding of my body, soul, mind and how it works can only help me on this walk about.
This is so true and makes sense
I’m always interested in learning more about why people behave the way they do. How and what we bring with us from our childhood. I find it absolutely fascinating.
True
This opens a new world for me !
I always knew the reasoning “why” is the forbidden fruit from the bible.. we need to come together back to oneness
Human beings all interconnected … we need to treat others with love and respect and do good to others. It’s our moral obligation to each other.
Thank you for very interesting and very important of FIX THE WORLD which is very understandable and very helpful to people all over the world. This is acceptable for people, cure and Fix the human race all over globe to change life and improving the health of the whole world.
Very insightful! Humanity can be saved but the evil ones won’t go down without a fight.
Where is God, our Creator and Jesus, our Savior in all of these findings?

I’m looking forward too learning more about my Purpose of being here I have been lost for 70 years of my life
It is wonderful you have come across Jeremy Griffith’s work Patricia and we encourage you to watch THE Interview which is the ideal introduction to his explanation of the human condition.

Yes, to fix the world, we need to fix the human condition; we need to fix ourselves, because all the crises in the world are caused by our angry, egocentric and alienated behaviour.
You’ve only just thought of this? Dear me...
Thanks for your thoughts Clarke. We suggest that ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish - what is the underlying cause of the “corruption of our spirit” that you refer to.
Good
I am just an old uneducated biker. This perspective on human biology and behavior is incredibly thought provoking and offers a refreshing look at how we can understand ourselves better. I only wish I could have known more about this in my youth, maybe I could have made better life decision. I have two daughters, one I am proud of USAF, DOD married to a USAF Man and doing great things in life. The other well drugs and street life very sad life.
Like woww, for real! Hallelujah!
Skin color is at the root of the human condition. When you walk around thinking that your skin color place you above other human makes the world a sick place to live. This sickness is running ramped around the world causing war and hatred. Fit this and all problems will be resolved. Fits Racism.
We can now see that racism has been a symptom of our insecure, psychologically upset human condition, not its cause. Jeremy Griffith’s breakthrough instinct vs intellect explanation of the human condition establishes the equality of all humans and brings compassionate and thus safe understanding to ALL of human behaviour — including why the horror of racism has existed under the duress of the human condition and, most importantly, finally brings it to an end, see FAQ 9.1 ‘How do you explain racism?’. Also, for a testimonial on the power of this knowledge to end racism, we recommend the presentations from Franklin Mukakanga and Refentse Molosiwa in Video/Freedom Essay 8: How this ends racism forever.
Mankind in a nutshell what makes us what we really are from how we act to how we respond generically receptive!!!
To bring peace and well-being to the world and make the continents all come together and have a world Conference not involving war talk or a confrontation about oil gas. And not only but to talk about how we can talk about re instruction of how to keep our world clean of chemicals for our drinking water and how to make our children not be forced into a world of self sacrifice of independence from the tales of our government.
Transformative
Thrilling.
So powerful that will save the world
I love this. We have to tell all.
Ego, at base level is a choice making function. independent thought, or ego, sets us on divergent pathways very different from pure instinct, Free will produces the likes of Rene Descartes, the Buddha, Socrates, albert Einstein, Nikola Tesla AND Adoph Hitler, Kim Jong -Il, Charles Manson, Joseph Stalin, Idi Amin, Jim Jones, Donald Trump, etc. Davis Ph. D.
Powerful !
Thank you for life saving insight. I wish more people chose to listen.
As i continued to listen to the interview, i realized this problem is pretty much down to government and even religion for the great divider. This is going to be tough to fix, being we have been subjected to this brainwashing for thousands of years. Our only saving grace is there are more good people on this earth than bad.
Thanks for your thoughts Yong.
This conversation is very atractive and I need to listen to it again so I can adsorb it and be able to talk about what I got in this very first time is not enough for me to construct a valid opinion, but I like the idea of getting more.
Interesting and intriguing
Good morning everyone my name is Daniel Emmanuel Etim, I am a visionary musician. I love to be part of this family 💞 to also bring light to the universe
Hi Daniel. The FIX THE WORLD Community page on our website is a great resource and guide for how to get involved and support these world-saving understandings, including joining our Facebook Group to learn more about this amazing, human-condition-resolved new world.
OK !!!
Fascinating, want to learn more and completely.

Thank you for all you informed me in the interview. I read it and I have listened to it. thank you for all you have done for me. God bless you amen
Amazing
How does the work of Wilhelm Reich relate to your work? What do you say about ancient indigenous wisdom?
Clearly, then, the living is at a disadvantage and in danger.’”
extremely interesting; I’d like to share this with others that I’m in contact with. how do I do this?

Is this a religion? Buy your books etc
Also the work of FIX THE WORLD is a scientific pursuit and was not created for profit, so all of our information and materials (including books, videos and podcasts) are provided absolutely free of charge on our website HumanCondition.com (no email required).
“Why are humans psychologically troubled?” Jeremy Griffith, like many historians and philosophers, is searching for answers—but his claim that the human condition is finally solved and the world can now be fixed can be misleading. He claims to fully explain human nature, yet leaves our origins unclear, prompting the deeper question: “Who created us?” If, as many traditions hold, God made man in His own image, then without that grounding we are like a tree without roots. Humanity remains a paradox—we create and we destroy—and as C. S. Lewis observed, “Each new power won by man is a power over man as well.” Intelligence is not the problem; it is how we choose to use it. Thomas Hobbes, though a historian as well as a philosopher, argued that the problem lies in human nature itself—people are driven by self-interest, fear, and competition, and without restraint, life descends into a state he described as “nasty, brutish, and short.”
Elimination of the Love of Money will remove most of the evil in the world.
To whom it may Concern Dear Sir/ Madam, From a person who has been in the Medical Sector for 33 years You are entitled your view just as much as mine. However, I base mine from a Medical Factual Information rather than a heresay theory of your own Personal viewpoint and that’s okay but Certainly Not my Interest at all. Have a great day. Kind regards, Margaret Kirley
All information about human nature is in the Bible.
Saludos [I am watching the video and am fascinated by the methodology of the approach and the subject matter itself. I am convinced that it is difficult to change the world, given the historical trajectory of human development over time. I believe that all religious conceptions have predominated to such an extent that they have created vicious circles since the dawn of our existence and led to the most atrocious crimes in the name of a set of gods or a single god, whether to rule, enslave, exploit, or impose their concept of life and/or their god(s).
Awesome
Most are awed by what is going on in our world, and this is something that I wouldn’t miss for anything. Survival is our highest goal during our lifetimes. I cannot wait to hear and share this information!!!!
I find this most interesting 🤔 I feel this is all true thank you for sharing ❤️ can’t wait for this to surface more and more!
I have just come upon this video and truly hope I can help in anyway to save this planet and us humans.
This is very good
Graag Nederladse vertaling van interview,is belangrijk [Please provide a Dutch translation of the interview; it is important (tr. from Dutch)].
Hi Daan, we appreciate the difficulty accessing these understandings in languages other than English, so we have created a Translations page on our website where you can find key publications in Dutch, French, German, Greek, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish and Afrikaans. The Dutch translations include THE Interview and FREEDOM, as well as various Freedom Essays.

Wonderful!
🙌🏾🙏🏾🥰
You will never fix the world. Read history.
I love this book and the great story written inside the book.. this book of knowledge is helping a lot of people in this word❤️❤️❤️
Sir, you’re a gentleman and a scholar to say the least. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks very much, I have been working on my thinking for a few years, this brought back the inner change, one time I was called a crackpot for mentioning a paradigm shift, I was expressing the truth to a colleague, now I have passed this very truthful insight human condition in to him, this video has lifted my spirit up.
If youve not worked out that our ego hads ruined the world you must be 3 years old
The breakthrough presented here is not that our egos have ruined the world, but that there has been a good reason for it; an explanation that frees us from that question.
Awesome
I can agree with this interview, life had a complex way of being understood, like speaking in parables…and the human mind is a complex thing. Only being able to use a percentage of it. That involved in time we’ll figure it out. Hopefully this will get us there. Thanks for your contribution to saving the human race from madness.
Good Interview !
Trauma can disorient the mind? We have no cure for trauma even though every human on this planet has suffered trauma! I need the book!
