Very interesting interview. Changing ones mindset would definitely be a challenge as humans have been subjected to certain belief systems for many years. Definitely enjoyed listening to the interview and the explanations explored. Food for thought for all. Freedom from our own minds!

WTM Admin

Hi Bella, yes humans do find change difficult but, to quote WTM Freedom Essay 5 about the transformation and freedom this understanding brings us: “Humans are thinking, rational beings so when all the logic points in one direction then there is really no choice but for every single human to take that path, and eventually they will. It will be slow for a start because humans hate and resist change, but nonetheless change does happen when an idea’s time has come”. And this change is happening! Just read the ecstatic responses THE Interview is receiving on our homepage and scroll down to see the rapidly growing appreciation and support for the WTM with outstanding commendations from thought leaders and WTM Centres all over the world! [Very interesting, current, pertinent, and deconstructor of beliefs, but I had difficulty in following in depth. I do not master English fluently. I would be very grateful if a cooperating soul could subtitle it in Portuguese and it could reach a larger number of people (translated from Portuguese).]

I’ve always needed an understanding of human behavior that seemed more biological-psychological instead of through a mythical sense. Knowing science is actually 150 yrs back and still being researched and analyzed is more promising for our self worth in the 21st century and beyond. Science including human research is as important as the any other field in science.

WTM Admin

Yes, ultimately we needed science to explain the human condition, the essential question of why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy Griffith presents in THE Interview. To clarify Jeremy’s reference to 150 years is in regard to science’s ability to explain the human condition, not scientific knowledge as a whole. To quote: “Precisely, it’s only in the last 150 years or so that science has given us A: the ability to know that the gene-based natural selection process gives species orientations to the world; and B: the knowledge of our nerves and how they are able to remember events, which, much developed, has led to our mind being able to sufficiently understand the relationship between cause and effect to become conscious of, or aware of, or intelligent about those relationships.”

Some holes in the theory: there has been amazing scientific knowledge going back far older than 150 Years. Tartarian Empire, Tesla type of knowledge was part of their daily lives. The Aztec technologies are older than 150 years. The pyramid generators are older than 150 years. Clan life, tribal life, living in cooperative community, matriarchal management, is way older then 150 years. Lets look at the suffocation and destruction, tryanny of dictatorships, narrow, patriarchal organizations. We need to go back to valueing the female, integrating into balance and harmony.

WTM Admin

Thank you for your comment Corinne. Firstly biologist Jeremy Griffith’s reference to 150 years is in regard to science’s ability to explain the human condition, not scientific knowledge as a whole. To quote: “Precisely, it’s only in the last 150 years or so that science has given us A: the ability to know that the gene-based natural selection process gives species orientations to the world; and B: the knowledge of our nerves and how they are able to remember events, which, much developed, has led to our mind being able to sufficiently understand the relationship between cause and effect to become conscious of, or aware of, or intelligent about those relationships.”     Jeremy also acknowledges ancient wisdom and cultures recognise the universal integrative meaning in existence but this has not solved our ongoing troubled human condition. To bring about the lasting transformation we seek we needed to answer the essential question of why, when the universal ideals are to be integrative are we so disintegrative? It is this question of questions that Jeremy has solved with his instinct vs intellect explanation that’s presented in THE Interview.     Explanation of the human condition does produce a huge paradigm shift in our thinking, so this critical new science does takes time to digest so we recommend people re-watch THE Interview and also explore our homepage which provides all our key material to consider.

You will find the exact same thing in the bible as a matter of fact I’m certain this book was inspired by the bible. All you need is your bible folks it contains better information that you could and should use everyday in life’s journey!

WTM Admin

Jeremy Griffith’s biological explanation of the human condition reconciles science and religion by bringing biological understanding to pre-scientific concepts. In terms of Christianity and Christ, Jeremy does consider the Bible to be a repository of extremely rare denial-free truth, containing all the truth about human life albeit from that pre-science view, and he has written about Christ’s life and its phenomenal importance in humanity’s journey in Freedom Essay 39. Our FAQs about religion are also helpful, especially 6.2 ‘What is God’ and 6.3 ‘Does this understanding undermine religion’.

Listening to The Interview is exactly what I needed to hear in this moment. I, like the rest of humanity it seems, have been struggling with the burden of guilt and shame of thinking I’m not good.. enough to.. and I now understand why. I plan on bringing Jeremy’s work into the healing work I am been called to do . Thank you for saving my soul..

Shane Robbins

Wow I am blown away. Watched interview and made sense to me. We are instinctively loving beings through consciousness we became competitive argumentative greedy immediately we fell out of paradise. if all of us connect as one we will have Paradise again. it won’t be cold anymore and they’ll be fruit that we’ve never even seen anyways I can go on and on but I just totally follow your science . I am Christian and am just thrilled to see the science nail it. the relationship between the Garden of Eden (instinctive human, God’s will) (conscious human ego anger violence competitive ) if all humans change this conscious condition and go back to love or instinctive nature then we could have Paradise in consciousness, thus the Garden of Eden with free will in love. this scientific study makes more sense than anything I think I’ve ever heard in my life feel free to email me we love us

Breathtaking

Stephen Evans

An amazing insight into the human condition. Does leave some questions unanswered though. If our closest relatives that he was talking about lived in large groups with some form hiaracahal organisation then naturally the individual apes at time will want to move up the ranking system. Thus causing one apes to possed against another for self preservation and self gain. Does this not point towards competition within the group which would cause negative acts to one another. Also if another group came into a groups territory would there then not be conflict between both group but not only the but between the hiaracahal apes who posses a position power within their own group. Dont get me wrong I think this understanding goes along way in answering a number question within the human condition but so also opens up a number of new questions that need answering

WTM Admin

Thank you for your thoughts Stephen. This is new science so it naturally takes a little time to fully digest what is presented so we suggest you re-watch THE Interview as your questions are answered there. Importantly, we can now see that the cooperative, matriarchal bonobos represent a better model of our ancestors than the aggressive, competitive chimpanzees – you can read more in Freedom Essay 21 and F. Essay 22 about the nurturing based love-indoctrination process that allowed our ancestors, and the bonobos, to overcome the dominance hierarchies that rule other species. What biologist Jeremy Griffith explains is that our competitive and territorial behaviour is not driven by our genes as it is in the animal kingdom but rather our upset psychology. In Part 3 especially Jeremy evidences this key biological distinction that humans suffer from the conscious-mind-based, psychologically troubled human condition, not the genetic-opportunism-based, animal condition. And, most importantly, as Part 4 explains a psychosis can be healed with understanding, so our psychologically upset human nature is fixable or changeable—not unchangeable, which is what it would essentially be if our competitive and aggressive nature was instinctive; if it was something that is in our genes and we were born with. We also suggest Video/Freedom Essay 2 and Video/Freedom Essay 14 which further explain this critical biological distinction.

Vincent van Bruchem

This is all too grand. Nothing can be that important. Gracefully surrender the things of youth and remember what peace there may be in silence. Read the desiderata of Max Ehrmann instead.

WTM Admin

Thank you for your thoughts Vincent. As WTM FAQ 1.9 ‘Should people be sceptical’ explains, the absolutely astonishing claims made about Jeremy Griffith’s treatise, such as Professor Harry Prosen (former president of the Canadian Psychiatric Association) saying “I have no doubt Jeremy Griffith’s work is the holy grail of insight we have sought for the psychological rehabilitation of the human race”, do warrant initial extreme scepticism, but the amazing fact is that they all withstand scrutiny. A person can begin reading the explanation and the more they read into it the more they will realise the claims are actually true, and in time become appreciated for their forthright honesty in indicating where the solution to our problems lies rather than being ‘all too grand’.     Max Ehrmann’s poem Desiderata provides wonderful wisdom on how to live with the human condition, but ultimately the only thing that could stop the ever increasing levels of alienation was actually solving it. That is what is unique about Jeremy Griffith’s treatise. He at last answers the essential question of our so-called ‘good and evil’-stricken human condition—why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish, so much so that we are destroying ourselves and our world, see FAQ 1.6 Why understanding the human condition solves everything.

This has been a long time coming and is possibly at exactly the right timing for the world. If we look at Ukraine and Russia. We look with interest at the world reaction to this confrontation is hearting it has divided into two camps with the majority being on the side of Ukraine. At presant the world has not advanced far enough to understand how to support it’s self and come together and stop it. I feel that the Human Condition has the directions and solutions within it

Loraine

I look forward to exploring!!!

Thomas William George Gultig

The following excerpt from THE OUTLINE OF HISTORY by H.G. Wells applies: Jesus had called men and women to a giant undertaking, to the renunciation of self, to the new birth into the kingdom of love. The line of least resistance for the flagging convert was to intellectualize himself away from this plain doctrine, this stark proposition, into complicated theories and ceremonies etc. etc.

WTM Admin

Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition is not an intellectual distraction from the business of renunciation of self, it is the explanation of why ‘self’ got in the way of the ‘kingdom of love’ in the first place. It is the fulfilment of a time that all the great prophets looked forward to when we could actually explain ourselves, see FAQ 6.3 ‘Does this undermine religion/God’ and FAQ 6.2 ‘What is God’. Also Jeremy’s Freedom Essays 38 – 41, which decipher religion, are absolutely fascinating.

Jenny Light

Fascinating insight. Our human condition is explained by science, a science that yogis have purported for thousands of years. I love that exoteric science meets the esoteric.

WTM Admin

Yes, ultimately we needed science to explain the human condition, the essential question of why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents in THE Interview and his book FREEDOM. There have been thousands of years of different techniques for calming, restraining, repressing, and even transcending our psychologically upset human condition, but none of them have brought an end to the upset state of the human condition—it’s still rampant everywhere. The reason is because they don’t solve the human condition. They don’t deal with the source of our species’ corrupted condition and bring relieving understanding to it. This is what Jeremy Griffith’s treatise does and why it is heralded as the biological breakthrough that can save the world (see FAQ 6.5 which further explains this critical difference between this work and pseudo idealistic techniques/ movements).

Just Brilliant New reporting. Well done 😎

Tania Viselli

I am not sure if I got it right. We don’t need to act as If we were good because we are and we must get rid of any guilt and just be ourselves, not because someone else tells us to but because we have the tools to understand it, not only through our mind but through our conscience. The existence of our conscience is by herself the demonstration that we are not driven by our instincts....unless we choose to??? (Sorry for my rusty English)

WTM Admin

Yes Tania, we aren’t dominated by our instincts because we had to defy them to fulfil our conscious mind’s necessary search for knowledge. As THE Interview explains, this defiance of our pre-established instincts (which we can now admit were cooperative and loving – see Freedom Essay 21), resulted in humans becoming angry, egocentric and alienated — the upset state of our human condition. But because we now have, as you say, the “tools to understand” that this ‘upset’ state was the price humans had to pay for searching for knowledge, that guilt and shame we have carried for departing from our all-loving instincts and becoming so destructive, so seemingly ‘bad’, is finally relieved. In essence, Jeremy Griffith’s work fundamentally lifts the ‘burden of guilt’ from the human race; by resolving the conflict between our intellect and instinct it establishes that we are good and not bad after all, making possible our collective harmony — it couldn’t be a bigger breakthrough!

WTM Admin

Thank you for your appreciative comment Cherie, and it is wonderful to see the relief the interview is bringing you. We just wanted to draw your attention to the ‘ship at sea’ position Jeremy talks about which you may or may not relate to. Freedom Essay 30 titled Resignation explains that some adolescents refuse to properly resign and take up the strategy of denial of the issue of the human condition that almost everybody else does. They courageously keep facing it, refuse to ‘pull into a port’, as it were, and escape the storms of confrontation with the real horror of the human condition, which does produce an honest, although torturous existence.

Yorda

Finally God send us some one and that is Mr. Jeremy. Thank you God, and thank you Mr. Jeremy.

WTM Admin

Yes, as someone said about Jeremy’s contribution in one of the commendations on the homepage, “He nailed it, nailed the whole thing, just like the world going from FLAT to ROUND, BOOM the WHOLE WORLD CHANGES, no joke.” However, while innocence was required to assemble the explanation of the human condition at the end, as Jeremy explains in THE Interview, “science is the liberator, the so-called ‘messiah’ or ‘redeemer’ of humankind, as we always hoped it would be!”

An

Dear readers, co-thinkers and other interested people. The statement of mister Jeremy Griffith, is huge. Nevertheless, although the basic of explaining the human condition are clearly there. Which psychosis created the growth of troubled conscious. If we look at; Etnic and gender domination. Is the root of it, greedyness. And why are people sensitive in that way? It can not be discrepancy between instincts and our ability to understand only or only genes and nerves. Why is one person less exposed to this discrepancy, than another? Actually isn’t there more to conduct to, or deduct from? Although nurturing is also a basic aspect. Is this sufficient to explain the Conscious trouble Mind of Psychological Human Condition? Finally: the fact that the explanation of this biologist is there. I think is great. Because it is stimulating us to think about the human species and our troubles.

WTM Admin

Hi An, and thank you for your comments. It does take time to absorb how significant the instinct vs intellect explanation for the human condition is. For example, when you factor in that different individuals and Ethnic groups have different levels exposure to the human condition (due to their circumstances, some individuals or races have been more sheltered than others), you can see that the basic instinct vs intellect clash does account for all the different varieties of psychosis and prejudice and dysfunctional, destructive behaviour we see around us. Which then allows us to explain racism for example – see FAQ 9.1. And we can now see that the genders have had different roles under the duress of the human condition, which explains sexism – see FAQ 8.1. And you will see that Jeremy Griffith does acknowledge the huge role that nurturing plays in establishing levels of psychological upset, but that our ability to nurture is actually just another aspect of our lives that is determined by the extent to which we have been exposed to the battle of the human condition – see chapter 8:16 of Jeremy’s definitive book FREEDOM.     Yes, the more you digest the core intellect vs instinct explanation, the more you will see that it does actually explain the variety of behaviour between individuals and groups that we see.

CJ

Very informative and awesome! If only we had this in our Psychology class in high school! This should be in all schools!

wayne banney

very great work and wise words. firstly there is a need to take back the mind controlling ‘education system’ from the psychopaths that have taken over a long time ago this ‘system’. i might add this is happening. keep smilin

WTM Admin

At last we can understand where humans’ psychopathic, what historically has been termed ‘evil’, behaviour comes from. As THE Interview explains humans are born with loving moral instincts but we all now variously suffer from a psychosis due to the human condition and, in the extreme, that psychologically conflicted upset state produces extremely destructive behaviour. Of course this breakthrough explanation doesn’t condone or sanction the horrendous attrocities humans can commit rather, through bringing compassionate understanding to the source of humans’ upset behaviour, it gives us the power to ameliorate and thus subside and ultimately eliminate it, see FAQ 1.38 ‘Aren’t some people just born psychopathic, or even ‘evil’? / How does this explanation rehabilitate people capable of ‘evil’ behaviour? / Does this condone ‘evil’ behaviour?’     Also being able to understand the human condition, we can now see that everyone has suffered from it, and all our institutions, including our educational systems, have been a manifestation of our insecure, psychologically upset condition. Only solving the human condition can stop the destruction of our world that is happening everywhere we look, see FAQ 1.6.

William Orr

This is bull nothing new here.

WTM Admin

The great question has always been why, when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless, are we so angry, competitive and selfish? We recommend FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this idea original or new? / How does this instinct vs intellect explanation of the human condition differ from other theories that recognise these elements?’, as it explains the unique significance of Jeremy’s work.

Michael Dyer

Such a simple concept. I’ve listened to the interview twice and though I understand it well, am struggling to incorporate it into myself. Will keep trying. Thanks.

WTM Admin

The practical application of this understanding is as simple as the concept itself but the reality is that we have necessarily had to live in denial of the human condition for so long that even though you understand the concept, it typically takes a little more time to bring the explanation back to yourself and see how it does work in our everyday lives (Video/Freedom Essay/ 1 explains our historic fear of the human condition and how we have had to live in denial of it). It is wonderful you have watched THE Interview several times (that is exactly what we would suggest people do) and that you want to persevere to gain this deeper appreciation of how it applies to our lives. So we’d recommend FAQs 1.4 to 1.6 as they explain the far-reaching practical applications of this understanding and Freedom Essay 15 ‘How our lives can be immediately transformed’. Also our Transformation page is brimming with invaluable insight and personal affirmations as to the ‘how to’. We’d especially recommend you join our Facebook Group and register for our live events with Jeremy Griffith because there is much helpful and practical discussion taking place about this immensely relieving knowledge! We send you all our encouragement to continue exploring this understanding and feel free to email [email protected] with any questions or thoughts, we’re here to help in any way we can.

kevern brown

Wow! yeaaahaaahaaahaahahaahahahahahahaaaaaaweeeeaheeeaheeeaheea. Well absolute done Sir. What an insight!. A true treasure trove. For me relative to the insistence upon wrong views being let go of over time we will all experience relief like finally going to the toilet. But is this only relative relief of the appalling degenerate dark age we are in? Or something deeper and more profound? For it me it remains to be seen. But more importantly it remains not understood by me yet. Wow Wow Wow. Yeah Bioy!

WTM Admin

This certainly is a ‘true treasure trove’ as you say Kevern! The great question has always been why, when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless, are we so angry, competitive and selfish? Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy Griffith presents in THE Interview and his definitive book FREEDOM. So the answer to your question is that the relief this brings is far deeper and more profound than just being a reflection of the dark age we live in (dire though that age is); this liberation is a day we have dreamed of since the battle between instinct and intellect emerged some 2 million years ago and condemned us to lives of insecurity and guilt. However, this long-awaited arrival of the truth about us represents such a huge paradigm shift in our thinking that the relief does take time to fully absorb. You may find FAQs 1.4 to 1.6 helpful as they further explain the far-reaching practical applications of this understanding.

Finally there is hope and understanding ‘The Meek Shall Inherit the Earth’

Retired Psychologist

We were Mammals before being Humans. Ergo [therefore], our animal instincts NEED to be tempered by our human consciousness.

WTM Admin

In Part 3 of THE Interview Jeremy Griffith explains how, uniquely amongst mammals, our human ancestors developed all-loving, moral instincts through the nurturing based love-indoctrination process. If we have loving instincts, not ‘savage’ ‘animal’ instincts that ‘need to be tempered’, then the question that raises, is what is the source of our aggressive, selfish behaviour? Jeremy explain that humans suffer from the conscious-mind-based, psychologically troubled human condition, not the genetic-opportunism-based, animal condition. He also explains that in the absence of the fully accountable, true understanding of the human condition—the explanation for why we behave divisively instead of cooperatively and lovingly—it makes sense that we humans needed to come up with some excuse, such as we have savage animal instincts, in order to cope with the negative implications of our behaviour, see FAQ 1.2. Most importantly, this psychosis can be healed with understanding—a revelation that transforms the human race! As the late Professor Harry Prosen, psychiatrist and former president of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, said: ‘I have no doubt Jeremy Griffith’s biological explanation of the human condition is the holy grail of insight we have sought for the psychological rehabilitation of the human race. This is the book we have been waiting for, it is the book that saves the world’ (mentioned in Part 1 of THE Interview).

Dumile Dladla

Omg!! Goosebumps! Goosebumps!! Very enlightening, been struggling with anxiety and this really making me feel different🙂 looking forward to learning more

WTM Admin

It is wonderful you are accessing the relief of understanding the human condition Dumile! For humans, knowledge is the ultimate form of power, and this knowledge we now have has reached right to the ‘bottom of the well’ of who we are, and from there, brought an end to the underlying insecurity, confusion, frustration, worry, doubt, shame, guilt, anxiety and angst that has plagued human life. It has, in short, opened up a whole new world free of the human condition which you are beginning to discover! The best way to learn more is to explore our homepage as it provides the perfect guide.     We thought you would find psychiatrist Professor Harry Prosen’s response to the question ‘How does understanding the human race’s condition help with an individual’s depression and psychosis? helpful, see FAQ 1.34 and also FAQ 1.35 ‘Does this heal anxiety?’. What is so significant and relieving about having the human condition resolved is we no longer have to be burdened by the fundamental question of whether we are good or bad because our core goodness as individuals and as a species has been biologically established. We can understand humans’ psychological upset was the price humans had to pay for searching for knowledge and that the human story presents the greatest, most heroic story ever told. So we can bring great compassion and kindness to ourselves and others and we don’t have to overly confront the upset within us which is important for everyone to be mindful of (as FAQ 1.19 ‘A caution about the danger of over exposure’ summarises).
