Thank you for this examination of the human condition.
I like the ideas. Makes sense.
Coming from an upbringing in an environment of being told we are sinners based on the symbolism of the eviction from the garden of eden described in the bible.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thanks Sandy. Yes, as is explained in THE Interview, the story of Adam and Eve being evicted from the Garden of Eden is a pre-scientific metaphor for the emergence of consciousness and its clash with our pre-established, cooperative loving instincts, resulting in humans ‘fall’ or them becoming psychologically upset or ‘sinful’. However as Jeremy stresses, we can now understand, from scientific first principles, that ‘Adam and Eve’ were ‘good’ to search for knowledge, not bad or ‘evil’. And with that redeeming answer to the human condition now found, our psychological upset (so called ‘sinful’ or ‘fallen’ state) can actually subside. May you be right!
Toward the end of my career as a professional photographer I worked with scientists. Their resistance to new concepts was discouraging to me. Not really any different from philosophers, theologians and religious teachers; too many resist change toward a new enlightenment as radical and unbelievable. Remember Galileo and others rejected due to our egotistical attachment to self centeredness.
I agree this transformation will take generations. I’m not so sure we have generations.
If I’m right, may our kin, Bonobos survive to accomplish the new Garden of Edin. 🙏🏽
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thanks Paul. Yes, in Part 2 biologist Jeremy Griffith explains why this discovery isn’t yet mainstream science when he points out that the issue of the human condition has been such a denied and off-limits subject that confronting it represents the “biggest of all blasphemies”, and how “science progresses funeral by funeral” when it comes to supporting big paradigm shifts like this (see FAQ 1.14 ‘Why aren’t these ideas this mainstream?’).
With regard to the transformation taking generations, we would just say that as Part 4 of THE Interview, titled ‘How does the psychological rehabilitation of the human race that the arrival of understanding of the human condition finally makes possible actually occur?’ explains it will take a number of generations for the upset within us to be completely healed but it also stresses importantly we can be immediately free of its effects. Certainly there is habituation to overcome and humans do find change difficult but now that our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living. ‘Legitimately’ because we have the first principle science which liberates us to be honest about our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it. So instead of being focused on power, fame, fortune and glory, all our energies will be freed to truly work together on doing whatever it takes to end the suffering and save our world. See FAQ 1.40 which addresses the questions of ‘How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’

Incredible attempt to unravel a conundrum. I would like Jeremy Griffith to provide an explanation for the thoughts and behavior of President Donald Trump. Thank you.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Hi Samuel, we hope you do continue to investigate biologist Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition. One thing you will discover is the extraordinary paradox, whereby humans have had to be angry, egocentric and alienated in order to continue with the all-important search for knowledge. This allows us to understand the real merits and liabilities of both the left and right wing. Jeremy’s work certainly recognises the destructive brutality of the right-wing; indeed he brings understanding to the whole extremely destructive angry, egocentric and alienated human condition. He also recognises the failing of the Left, which is that its dogmatic insistence on cooperative, selfless and loving behaviour stifled and oppressed the freedom of expression and individualism needed to find knowledge, ultimately self-knowledge, the redeeming understanding of our seemingly destructive human condition that thankfully he has now found and presents in his book FREEDOM. Basically his work brings profound understanding to both sides, which ultimately brings to an end the whole ugly business of politics. This is fully explained in our FAQs about politics.

How do we fix the world?
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thank you for your comment Rosemary. Part 4 of THE Interview, titled ‘How does the psychological rehabilitation of the human race that the arrival of understanding of the human condition finally makes possible actually occur?’, presents the answer to how this understanding allows us to transform our lives and fix the world. It explains that it will take a number of generations for the upset within us to be completely healed but it also stresses importantly we can be immediately free of its effects. Certainly there is habituation to overcome and humans do find change difficult but at last we can understand our behaviour has been driven by a deep insecurity about our fundamental goodness or worth and so now that our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living. ‘Legitimately’ because we have the first principle science which liberates us to be honest about our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it. So instead of being focused on power, fame, fortune and glory, all our energies will be freed to truly work together on doing whatever it takes to end the suffering and fix the world. This is summarised in FAQ 1.6 ‘Why does understanding of the human condition solve everything?’ and FAQ 1.40 addresses the questions of ‘Aren’t the problems of the world too overwhelming to ever be fixed? / Isn’t it too late to save the world? / How can you hope to transform the world?’.

So there’s no way we can have peace in this world, period!!! It’s like saying everyone must be the same height...and so on. All animals have the same reason with humans! They fight too in groups against others.
This is physical world...no 100 percent love is possible... NEVER.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
In THE Interview Jeremy Griffith explains the key biological distinction between humans and other animal species is that humans suffer from the conscious-mind-based, psychologically troubled human condition, not the genetic-opportunism-based, animal condition. He reveals all humans are born with loving instincts and the ‘savage instincts’ explanation was just a convenient excuse while we searched for the psychosis-addressing-and-solving real explanation of our divisive behaviour. With this critical new science we can now understand humans’ divisive behaviour is not a product of unchangeable competitive animal instincts within us, but the result of a universal psychosis caused by a clash between our instincts and intellect, and significantly since a psychosis can be healed with understanding, human behaviour is not unchangeable or immutable — a revelation that transforms the human race and does bring peace to the world. People can read more about this in Jeremy’s Video/Freedom Essay 2 titled 'Debunking the ‘savage instincts’ excuse for human behaviour’. This essay refers the audience to Video/Freedom Essay 14 which explains why the ‘group selection’ biology (you mention) being used to supposedly explain hostility towards outsiders is false.
In terms of 100 percent love being possible the question of ‘How did we genetically acquire altruistic/loving instincts?’ is one of the great outstanding scientific questions that Jeremy has solved and what is so brilliant about his ability as a biologist. As is explained in THE Interview (Part 3) “how we acquired our moral instincts has been one of the greatest mysteries in biology. The primatologist Richard Wrangham described it as ‘A question that has lain unsolved at the core of biology ever since Darwin’. And Darwin himself described it as the ‘one special difficulty’ with his concept of natural selection”. In Part 3 Jeremy explains how the selfish process of natural selection was able to create loving selflessness in our forebears through nurturing or what he terms ‘love-indoctrination’. This love-indoctrination process is summarised in FAQ 5.2 ‘How did we acquire our all-loving, unconditionally selfless moral conscience?’ and further explained in Freedom Essay 21 and chapter 5 of Jeremy’s definitive book FREEDOM.

Good stuff.
Kay Edelman
This is very interesting to me. No one has covered those details as good as the professor.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
It is wonderful to learn of your interest Kay and we agree Jeremy Griffith’s work covers details of the human condition like none other. Jeremy is a biologist not a professor but it is Professor Harry Prosen, former president of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, who praised THE Interview as “THE most important interview of all time”.
DAN
I expected new discovery from this biologist that will help us to understand more about human behaviour and condition but I find it a bit pessimistic that it can even be tried let alone fix it.
So my question is how is it going to be done?
Have you tried to fix yourself and if so what is the result, how long it took..etc?
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Hi Dan, thank you for your comment. Firstly, as our FAQ 1.9 ‘Why people can have confidence in the bold claims made about biologist Jeremy Griffith’s work' explains, Professor Harry Prosen, a former president of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, has endorsed the significance of Jeremy Griffith’s treatise, saying “I have no doubt Jeremy Griffith’s biological explanation of the human condition is the holy grail of insight we have sought for the psychological rehabilitation of the human race.” So while initial scepticism is warranted about the astonishing claims being made about this work the amazing fact is that they all withstand scrutiny. A person can begin reading the book and the more they read into it the more they will realise the claims being made are actually true as is evidenced by the growing momentum of support that is building around the world for this breakthrough explanation see the thousands of impressive commendations Jeremy’s work has received from thought leaders and members of the public and the over 80 FIX THE WORLD Centres that have opened across the globe.
With regard to your question of how can this understanding actually fix us and therefore the world having explanation of the human condition solves all the confusion, frustration and suffering in human life at its source. We can now understand that our behaviour has been driven by a deep insecurity about our fundamental goodness, so now that our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living. This is the rapidly transforming effect of being able to understand the human condition, however because it presents a huge paradigm shift in our thinking it does take a little time to fully grasp. Our FAQs 1.4 to 1.6 are helpful as they talk about the far-reaching practical applications of this understanding and for the most detailed explanation of the transformation that is now possible we recommend Jeremy’s two seminal presentations on the topic: The Great Transformation and Sermon On The Beach. Also our Transformation page includes many affirmations from people about how this understanding has transformed their lives and their families lives and FAQ 6.5 clarifies that this transformation is not another new age-type false start to a new world for humans that can’t and doesn’t last.
Also we suggest you re-watch Part 4 of THE Interview, titled ‘How does the psychological rehabilitation of the human race that the arrival of understanding of the human condition finally makes possible actually occur?’. It explains it will take a number of generations for the upset within us to be completely healed but it also stresses importantly we can be immediately free of its effects. / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’.

FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thanks Douglas. Have no concern - we are doing all we can, and will continue to do all we can, to get this world-saving understanding to everyone on the planet because only this redeeming and rehabilitating understanding can heal humanity’s psychological upset. There is simply no more rewarding or fulfilling task on the planet. As Jeremy explains in chapter 9.9 of his book FREEDOM, while “this new world for humans, which the World Transformation Movement has been established to facilitate, will have a slow beginning because humans initially find it difficult even taking in or ‘hearing’ discussion about the human condition, once FIX THE WORLD is discovered, word of it and what it offers every human and the world will spread like wildfire.” And we are well on our way as you can see from the excitement and relief in our daily ecstatic responses to THE Interview, and in the rapidly growing appreciation and support for Jeremy’s work from thought leaders and FIX THE WORLD Centre founders all over the world, all of which you can read on our homepage.

1. Humans have conscious impulses therefore we cannot also have innate aggressive and reproductive instincts. Animals (except for apes apparently) have no such conscious impulses (and we prove this how?), therefore we are completely different from them. (This is illogical, everyone except maybe for certain midwit biologists knows there are both.)
2. Because of 1, our problem is some type of psychosis that can be healed. (And if healed, will we no longer seek to reproduce?)
3. We imagine some hypothetical purely instinctive animal, a stork named Adam, that then develops conscious mind, and we imagine some things about this stork. We imagine that he then flips to purely conscious (can only be one or the other according to 1). We conclude that the change causes the psychosis (anger, egocentrism, alienation) since he’s still trying to leave his purely instinctive behavior and warring with his instincts.
4. The understanding is that we must defy our instincts.
And so the “solution” is to forget what is natural and fall for some type of “logic” that we can’t logically disprove. Or the vast majority can’t disprove, enough to sway the voting.
If “all the other storks are condemning the search for knowledge” why aren’t the animals? I don’t see dogs and birds and cockroaches condemning my search for knowledge. And if the other storks aren’t condemning, what would trigger this alienation?
[Let me humbly suggest that you have the alienation wrong. It’s alienation from God, not from our animal nature and other less-enlightened humans.]
What is this “gene based learning system”, is it just natural selection that “learns” by adaptation over multiple generations?
There’s an awful lot of self congratulation in this video, wasting a lot of the time, and making it hard to identify the actual argument and its weak points. And also talk of urgency, creating the risk that people will be stampeded on board. Therefore I’ve summarized the argument and refuted it above.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
We certainly respect people’s religious views, including the idea of “alienation from God.” But what’s being presented here doesn’t contradict those perspectives — it provides a biological explanation for the same human experience that religions have long described in non-scientific terms. Readers might find our FAQs about religion of interest, especially FAQs ‘What is God’ and ‘Does this understanding undermine religion’.
The explanation itself is very simple but our historic fear of the subject of the human condition can make it difficult to absorb or ‘hear’, and therefore ‘summarize’ accurately. In essence: our angry, egocentric and alienated behaviour is not the result of ‘savage instincts’ within us, as is so commonly argued; rather, it is psychological in origin. We can now understand that when humans developed a fully conscious mind around 2 million years ago, it began to question and experiment beyond our existing instinctive orientations. That created an unavoidable conflict between our instincts (which can only orient behaviour) and our intellect (which has to understand through experience).
Unable to initially explain its own deviations, the conscious mind became psychologically insecure and defensive. That’s what led to the emergence of anger, egocentricity and alienation — the psychologically upset state we refer to as the human condition.
So the claim being made is that this long-standing psychological conflict now has a clear explanation. And with that understanding, the need for those defensive behaviours is removed.
Read Commendations and Reviews for this explanation, including that of Professor David Chivers, University of Cambridge anthropologist and former President of the Primate Society of Great Britain, who wrote, "The sequence of discussion in FREEDOM is so logical and sensible, providing the necessary breakthrough in the critical issue of needing to understand ourselves."
You don’t have to accept that conclusion — but it’s important to represent the argument accurately before dismissing it. We suggest everyone listens to Part 1 of THE Interview for themselves; and for a very brief summary of the ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation we recommend FAQ 1.3 ‘What is biologist Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition?’

Sehr Verehrte, Bin sehr interessiert for more information about your transformation. [Dear Sir or Madam, I am very interested in finding out more about your transformation. (Tr. from German)]
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thanks for your question, Rosmarie. It does take a little time to fully absorb the significance of finally being able to explain the human condition. But essentially what it means is that we now have the ability, for the first time, to understand the source of our species’ divisive behaviour; we can at last understand that we have been driven by a deep insecurity about our fundamental goodness or worth, and now that our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living. ‘Legitimately’ because at last we have the first principle-based science which liberates us to be honest about our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it. With our dark side truthfully explained and defended we can finally love ourselves and bring about a rehabilitated world, free of suffering, for ourselves and future generations. This is the rapidly transforming practical effect of being able to understand the human condition, which is fully explained and illustrated on our Transformation page. Also FAQs 1.4 to 1.6 explain the far-reaching application of this information while Freedom Essay 15 ‘How understanding the human condition can immediately transform your and every other human’s life and save the world’ is all about ‘How our lives can be immediately transformed’. We especially recommend joining our Facebook Group as it provides insightful discussion about how this immensely redeeming and relieving knowledge transforms our lives.

Can I comment? Somewhat disagree.
Does not address the basic evolutionary principles, diversity is the most important fact over the millions of years for any life form, genetics loads the gun, the environment fires it. The human condition is just the environment dictating outcomes, which will change over time. Explain cryptic paternity, extra group copulation, outbreeding. Basic genetic diversity.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thanks for your feedback Rick. In THE Interview Jeremy Griffith explains the key biological distinction between humans and other animals is that humans suffer from the conscious-mind-based, psychologically troubled human condition, not the genetic-opportunism-based, animal condition. Words used to describe our human behaviour such as egocentric, arrogant, inspired, depressed, deluded, pessimistic, optimistic, artificial, hateful, cynical, mean, sadistic, immoral, brilliant, guilt-ridden, evil, psychotic, neurotic and alienated, all recognise the involvement of OUR species’ fully conscious thinking mind. They demonstrate that there is a psychological dimension to our behaviour; that we don’t suffer from a genetic-opportunism-driven ‘animal condition’, but a conscious-mind-based, psychologically troubled HUMAN CONDITION.
As Jeremy explains in chapter 2:2 of his definitive book FREEDOM, Arthur Koestler was one scientist frustrated by mechanistic, reductionist science’s avoidance of our species’ consciousness-induced, human-condition-afflicted psychosis, writing that ‘symptoms of the mental disorder which appears to be endemic in our species…are specifically and uniquely human, and not found in any other species. Thus it seems only logical that our search for explanations [of human behaviour] should also concentrate primarily on those attributes of homo sapiens which are exclusively human and not shared by the rest of the animal kingdom. But however obvious this conclusion may seem, it runs counter to the prevailing reductionist trend. “Reductionism” is the philosophical belief that all human activities can be “reduced” to – i.e., explained by – the [non-psychosis involved] behavioural responses of lower animals – Pavlov’s dogs, Skinner’s rats and pigeons, Lorenz’s greylag geese, Morris’s hairless apes…That is why the scientific establishment has so pitifully failed to define the predicament of man’ (Janus: A Summing Up, 1978, p.19 of 354).

This js hustle one man’s opinion. There are many differing opinions.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
You can know that Jeremy Griffith has at last got to the bottom of the human condition and found the redeeming explanation of it, because as he explains in paragraph 73 of FREEDOM, the ultimate test of any hypothesis is how accountable it is of our own lives – as the greatest of all physicists, Albert Einstein, once said that ‘truth is what stands the test of experience’. And so you can know that this is the breakthrough explanation of the human condition because once you understand the explanation and begin to apply it, you will discover it is so able to make sense of human behaviour it makes it transparent. This transparency of ourselves and our world—for example, the exposure of all our falseness—that this understanding of the human condition brings, is the ultimate ‘test of experience’ that confirms that the understanding being presented here is the long-sought explanation of the human condition. In this particular scientific study—the biological analysis of the human condition—we humans are the subjects, which means we can experience, feel and know the truthfulness or otherwise of the explanations being put forward. And so, fantastic a claim as it may seem, you will find that what is being presented here is the long-sought-after, desperately needed, psychosis-addressing-and-resolving, human race-transforming explanation of the human condition.
And as is explained in FAQ 1.10: “Throughout FREEDOM it is demonstrated how the ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation demystifies not just the human condition, but all aspects of human behaviour. It quickly becomes clear that not only are the facts and logic underlying the ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation established and unarguable, the theory also has an extraordinary ‘explanatory power’, which is one of the essential qualities of a scientific theory.”

We suggest that the information is presented as quickly and simply as possible (which is done in Part 1 of THE Interview), however explanation of the human condition can be initially difficult to access. This is because it has been the most terrifying of subjects to face as it is the issue of whether we are fundamentally good or bad as a species, and we have necessarily lived in almost total denial of it. We suggest looking at The Great Guilt where Jeremy Griffith explains this initial ‘deaf effect’ and how to overcome it. Also FAQ 1.3 presents a very brief summary of the key ‘instinct vs intellect’ concept.
Kevin Armstrong
An erudite and eloquent interpretation of the complex and often confusing situation in which we find ourselves at present. There are an estimated 8 billion human beings sharing this planet - many would agree with, and happily share this information, but most of those with political, social or financial power would not. How do you convince these people to even watch the interview, knowing that it is contrary to what they believe?
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thanks Kevin. You may find our FAQ 1.40 helpful, titled ‘Aren’t the problems of the world too overwhelming to ever be fixed? / Isn’t it too late to save the world? / How can you hope to transform the world? – In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful?’. It is explained there that even those who are most committed to seeking validation through gaining power and wealth, including those entrenched in positions of power, will quickly realise how empty and obsolete that strategy is now that we have the fully accountable, psychosis-addressing-and-solving, biological explanation of the human condition that establishes our worth at the most fundamental level.

Exciting read! I am a retired psychologist, 91 years of age. Now my head is going in two directions at once! I just finished 2 of Eben Alexander’s books about near-death experiences which convinced me to let go of science in order to consider life beyond death and beyond the body. I had believed that life was a function of living nervous tissue. Because of you, I am now reviewing my views of the Unconscious, which is basic to my practice of psychodynamic psychotherapy. I’ve also wondered about the mental experience of animals; you suggest why they may not have consciousness because they can stay in the Garden of Eden. Thank you two for being mind-stretchers for me! Elizabeth
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thanks very much Elizabeth, as Professor Harry Prosen, a former President of the Canadian Psychiatric Association wrote, “ “the beauty of Griffith’s treatise is that the healing starts at the macro level of the universal human condition; the healing of the shame and blame that the whole human race has suffered from…It brings the greater context and love to all human psychosis and suffering, and then, from under the umbrella of that safe position, everyone can gradually work inwards to their particular experience of all the imperfections in human life that have now, finally, been made sense of” — see FAQ 1.34 ‘How does understanding the human race’s condition help with an individual’s depression and psychosis?’You might be interested Jeremy to know that Jeremy explains near death experiences in FREEDOM, see paragraph 997 and paragraph 1200. Jeremy’s explanation of the human condition makes clear how much deep fear we all live in of the whole subject of the human condition, and how utterly preoccupied we are in keeping away from it and proving our sense of self worth. So it makes total sense to me that when people survive a terrible near death experience, the mind, in that moment, gives up on denial and worrying in general and they experience the joy of what it is like to be free of the whole horror of the human condition, and the true world of our soul surfaces.
With regard to why other animals are not conscious, you might be interested in our FAQ 5.4, where the subject is introduced. It is explained there that, “the gene-based natural selection tool for developing the order of matter on Earth normally actively resists self-sacrificing, altruistic behaviour. It is against altruism. It follows then that in terms of the development of consciousness, the gene-based natural selection process is, in effect, totally opposed to any altruistic, selfless thinking, and since altruism is the very theme and meaning of existence, such opposition blocks the development of honest, sound, effective thinking. Indeed, it makes sense that the gene-based natural selection process will and does develop instinctive blocks in the minds of animals to prevent the emergence of such truthful, selflessness-recognising, effective thinking. And it is this block against truthful thinking in the minds of almost all animals that prevents them from becoming conscious of the true relationship or meaning of experience. They are prevented from thinking effectively and thus from becoming conscious of the true relationship of events that occur through time.”

Sounded like some valuable information and insights and i agree that people should listen to this more than once. I think I’m gonna play it again right now😁👍

Awesome interview/discussion, I gained a lot from this. Insights into questions that I often ask myself with no clear answers. I will listen again uninterupted. Thanks for this enlightening interview.
Sue
So now that we know that we should just be able to perceive differently?
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Yes Sue, finally being able to understand and reconcile the human condition is astonishingly powerful and fundamentally changes the way we perceive ourselves and the world. To quote FAQ 1.5 ‘Why is understanding the human condition important to my life?’: “Having understanding of the human condition will completely transform your life into the most wonderful existence imaginable. This is because biologist Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition gives you the ability, for the first time ever, to understand every aspect of human behaviour in yourself and in everyone else with 100% clarity and confidence. The explanation will change how you view humans, and most importantly yourself, literally overnight—and your behaviour will change naturally as a result, and just as quickly.”
Jan Golden
Define condition … mortal? …filled with disease???
Never known this was a problem?? So what is solution??? To Die, stop being human??? Is the solution we all get lobotomy??
This is why we have religion, Buddhism teaches mindful thinking.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Hi Jan, to learn about the human condition and how its resolution gives us the means to fix the world we strongly recommend everyone first familiarise themselves with biologist Jeremy Griffith’s introduction to the human condition in THE Interview he did with Craig Conway, and in the description of the human condition in his book The Human Condition: What exactly is it, what caused it, and how the human race has finally liberated itself from the horror of it. All our books and videos are freely available to watch, read or download on FIX THE WORLD homepage at HumanCondition.com.
For a short summary of what the term human condition actually refers to please see our FAQ 1.1 ‘What exactly is the human condition’ where Jeremy explains that the human condition is the immensely mentally insecure and psychologically distressed state that all humans have suffered from as a result of a clash between our species’ original non-understanding, dictatorial, instinctive orientations to the world, and our newer fully conscious mind that needs to understand the world to operate. With the human condition now solved we no longer have to try to stop thinking to cope with the underlying pain in our brains as we now have the key understanding that liberates our minds to think freely and soundlyfor the first time!
Also FAQ 1.6 ‘Why does understanding of the human condition solve everything?’ is very helpful, to quote: “While issues such as the environment have dominated concerns in recent times, the obvious truth is that we have only been focusing on the symptoms; everything to date has been nothing more than a band-aid. All the problems we’re experiencing on this planet, aside from natural phenomenon, are caused by us humans. We are the ones who are egocentric, selfish, greedy, materialistic, fake, angry as hell. And so it’s that underlying issue — our destructively behaved, so-called human condition — that really has to be addressed and fixed if we are to solve the world’s problems.”
While religions contain all manner of truths about human life, it is all from a pre-scientific view and finding the answer to the human condition depended on being able to explain our biology. Yes there has been thousands of years of different techniques for calming, restraining, repressing, and even transcending our psychologically upset human condition and deferring to the soundness of our soul in one form or another, like in Buddhism, but none of them have brought an end to the upset state of the human condition—it’s still rampant everywhere. The reason is because they don’t solve the human condition. They don’t deal with the source of our species’ corrupted condition and bring relieving understanding to it. This is what Jeremy’s treatise does and why it is heralded as the biological breakthrough that can save the world. We recommend reading FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this idea original or new?' You can see the commendations his work has received from eminent scientists and thought leaders around the world on our Commendations page on our website.

Yes we need to heal races of this world. Finding thought processes of understand stability. Faith love humans conditions understand of misunderstand .rebuilding human understand.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Hi Lily, yes explanation of the human condition at last gives us the understanding of the misunderstanding. As biologist Jeremy Griffith explains in Part 4 of THE Interview, “What this instinct vs intellect explanation of the human condition fundamentally does is lift the ‘burden of guilt’ from the human race. It establishes that we humans are good and not bad after all.” Significantly, because Jeremy’s explanation establishes the equal worth of all humans we can now acknowledge the differences between us his work addresses the source of the endless horrific-beyond-description examples in history of racism and prejudice and brings the desperately needed reconciling understanding to the relationships between all groups of people. We recommend our Freedom Essay 28, ‘The end of racism’ and for testimonials on the power of this information to end racism, see those from Franklin Mukakanga, founder of FIX THE WORLD Zambia and Refentse Molosiwa, founder of FIX THE WORLD Mahikeng, in Video/Freedom Essay 8.
Brian Glover, DDS
20 minutes in and he has barely said anything. I think he needs to pick another subject for his next book. Good luck!
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Hi Brian, thank you for your comment. While great care has been taken to present the explanation as quickly and simply as possible (which is done in Part 1) THE Interview also explains the very nature of the human condition means discussion of it can be initially difficult to access. This is because historically the issue of whether we are fundamentally good or bad has been the most terrifying of all subjects to face, and so we have necessarily lived in almost total denial of it, which means our minds can initially struggle to hear and absorb discussion about it. Thankfully however, this ‘deaf effect’ can be overcome with patient perseverance and everyone can access this most wonderful of all gifts of understanding the human condition! See our FAQ 1.16 'Why can’t I understand these ideas’. So we encourage you to finish watching THE Interview because opening up this underlying issue in all human affairs of the human condition does mean that there are several absolutely critical questions to be answered, which make up Parts 2, 3 & 4 of THE Interview. As well, FAQ 1.3 presents a very brief summary of the key ‘instinct vs intellect’ concept. Essentially, when we humans developed a conscious mind some 2 million years ago, a battle unavoidably developed between it and our already established cooperative instincts. The result of this conflict between our instinct and intellect was that we became psychologically defensive, angry, alienated and egocentric – the upset state we refer to as the human condition. But now that we can explain and understand this conflict, all those insecure, defensive behaviours are obsoleted, brought to an end, and we free ourselves from the human condition. For the growing momentum of support that is building around the world for biologist Jeremy Griffith’s breakthrough explanation of the human condition, see the thousands of impressive commendations Jeremy’s work has received from thought leaders and members of the public here on our website and we now have over 80 FIX THE WORLD Centres that have opened across the globe.

Absolutely riveting so my following of Karl Jung has so enhanced and freed me. Wonderfully and simply explained. My sincere thanks to you.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
That’s wonderful you found THE Interview so riveting Carmel! Carl Jung was absolutely correct in identifying the importance of gaining understanding of our ‘psyche’; he was forever saying that ‘wholeness for humans depends on the ability to own their own shadow’. What is presented here in THE Interview, with Jeremy Griffith’s redeeming ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition, is what – finally – gives us the ability to own our own shadow! You might be interested in FAQ 1.47 ‘How does Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition differ from the theories of Freud or Jung?’ which explains that because he was not able to recognise that we humans have a loving and cooperative past, Jung was not able to explain the human condition.

Very Amazing and very informative the whole world need to read Jeremy’s valuable book.
Wade
This is a great understanding of why mankind exists in this evil state. Look forward to seeing mankind transform back to the loving, peaceful existence the way God intended.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Hi Wade, yes although this is science, it is based on a ‘Godly’ nature in the sense of recognising, like all the great religions do, that we humans once lived in a pre-human-condition-afflicted state of original innocence where we were perfectly instinctively orientated to the cooperative, selfless, loving, ‘Godly’ ideals of life; ‘God’ being explained as being the personification of integrative meaning of life; see Freedom Essay 23. We also think you might find our FAQs about religion of interest, especially FAQ 6.2 ‘What is God’ and FAQ 6.3 ‘Does this understanding undermine religion’. Also, Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition brings biological understanding to religious accounts of our condition, which means we can at last reconcile science and religion. For instance, as THE Interview explains, the story of Adam and Eve is a pre-scientific metaphor for the emergence of consciousness and its clash with our pre-established, cooperative loving instincts, resulting in humans becoming psychologically upset or ‘sinful’ or ‘evil’. However, significantly we can now understand, from scientific first principles, that ‘Adam and Eve’ were actually ‘good’ to search for knowledge, not bad or ‘evil’; we humans are actually the absolute heroes of the whole story! It establishes that we are good and not bad after all. What THE Interview presents fundamentally lifts the ‘burden of guilt’ from the human race and allows us to forgive ourselves and others and finally end our psychologically troubled human condition—it couldn’t be a bigger breakthrough!
Michael
A great interview and explanation of us humans. Hopefully the human race can finally get back to the garden of Eden and the world can become a better place for all of us. 😀

And how will humans deal with our religious heritage which continues insisting on “the original sin” which all humans are supposedly born with?
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thanks for your comment, Ben. Jeremy Griffith’s work doesn’t contradict a belief in God or Christianity, or the Bible’s content. It simply brings biological understanding to all those pre-scientific concepts. In fact, Jeremy considers the Bible to be a repository of extremely rare denial-free truth, containing all the truth about human life albeit from a pre-science view. Although this is science, it is based on a Godly nature in the sense of recognising, like all the great religions do, that we humans once lived in a pre-human-condition-afflicted state of original innocence where we were perfectly instinctively orientated to the cooperative, selfless, loving, ‘Godly’ ideals of life; ‘God’ being explained in as being the integrative meaning of life (see FAQ 6.2).
Our additional FAQs about religion may also be of interest, especially FAQ 6.3 ‘Does this understanding undermine religion’, which includes the section ‘How can you reconcile the explanation of the human condition that defends the upset state with religious teachings that condemn upset?’
That section explains that, "With understanding of the human condition we can now appreciate that in order to encourage people to adhere to the integrative, ‘Godly’, cooperative ideals of life, religions sought to restrain ‘upset’ behaviour by making people fearful of behaving in an overly angry, egocentric and alienated way. So you will find in the Bible passages, such as the following from Jeremiah, that spell out the upset state—‘The heart is deceitful above all things, and beyond cure: who can understand it?’ (Bible, Tr. 1978 NIV, Jeremiah 17:9)—and other passages that seek to persuade people to not live out their upset; for example, ‘He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power’ (ibid, 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9), and ‘Then he will say to those on his left, Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels’ (ibid, Matt. 25:41). The more upset and therefore destructive people became, the more they needed to try to obey the Godly ideals of life that religions taught, but the problem was such condemnation of upset behaviour, as ‘deceitful’, ‘cursed’ and warranting ‘eternal fire’ for instance, could be terrorising and extremely oppressive. As a result, many people who grew up with strict religious doctrine suffer all their life from the ‘you’ll-burn-in-hell-if-you-sin, fire and brimstone’-terror that they were subjected to as children.
Obviously what was desperately missing was the reconciling understanding of our upset behaviour and the Godly ideals; reconciling understanding of the human condition in fact—which is exactly what Jeremy Griffith presents us with. With the understanding of the human condition that explains why we departed from those Godly ideals, no longer does anybody have to preach, or be terrorised by, religious dogma. And everyone can now understand the aligning (with Integrative Meaning) and restraining (of upset)—albeit repressive—purpose of religious doctrine. No wonder the reconciling understanding of the human condition has brought incredible relief to people who have spent a lifetime suffering from religious fire-and-brimstone teaching!"

FIX THE WORLD Admin
While it takes some time to digest, we suggest that what is unique about Jeremy Griffith’s work is that he has answered the essential question of why, when the universal ideals are to be integrative are we so disintegrative? Our endeavours in philosophy, psychology and biology have failed, until now, to provide a truthful, real, fully accountable, genuinely clarifying explanation, and without that, “progress” has stalled. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents here.

I watched your video interview about three times to make sure I had fully grasped what your research has shown. I listened with full engagement and felt the synapses light up as everything spoken about rang true. I have always felt the true meaning of the human condition to be more aligned with that of co-creation and cooperation. Even the cells in our bodies cannot function well if they are competing against each other or trying to out do the other. When we look at history and Im not really a historian, but generally speaking, we see that progress has only ever been made to serve everyone well when cooperation and compassion exists. It is the foundation of every man, woman and child’s deepest desire and wish to be seen, heard, understood and cared for.
I would like to express my most sincere thanks for this vast body of work. The fact that it has taken over 30 years to write, and that you are giving it away, speaks clearly that your words are not just words, but a core belief and value of the research you have put together.
I am sure you will have touched so many lives with your work, and that there are many of us now working towards this common goal. Without oppression, coercion or corruption, for the good of all souls, with compassion and clarity.

In contemporary Judaism we speak of the Tree of Knowledge OF THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL. In the moment before Cain (son of Adam and Eve) kills Abel, God shows him that he is standing on a tenuous threshold of making a decision of FREE WILL (that he was created to have, as well as the human characteristic of blind obedience). So Cain makes his choice and suffers a consequence. Every story in Genesis and Exodus presents the human condition in terms of behaviors, struggles of conscience, actions, and consequences, and is an instruction and blueprint for self- and community-GOVERNANCE.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
We suggest that the more you consider the interpretation of the Garden of Eden story given in THE Interview, the clearer it becomes that the story is a metaphor for the emergence of the conscious mind in the presence of pre-established loving instincts, and how the conscious mind was in effect ‘condemned’ by those instincts, and as a result became angry, egocentric and alienated.
With regard to the criticism that the metaphor really refers to knowledge ‘of the difference between good and evil’ rather than knowledge per se, it is worth pointing out that scholars have long interpreted ‘the tree of knowledge of good and evil’ to mean knowledge of everything rather than simply ‘knowledge of morality’. For example, in his book Genesis, the Old Testament scholar Claus Westermann wrote that the phrase “knowledge of good and evil” is: “… concerned with knowledge (or wisdom) in the general, comprehensive sense. Any limitation of the meaning of “the knowledge of good and evil” is thereby excluded. It can mean neither moral nor sexual nor any other partial knowledge, but only that knowledge which includes and determines human existence as a whole, [the ability to master]… one’s own existence.” Similarly, biblical scholars such as Cyrus H. Gordon (The Bible and the Ancient Near East), Harry M. Orlinsky (notes to the NJPS Torah) and Nicolas Wyatt (Space and Time in the Religious Life of the Near East) have written that the “tree of the knowledge of good and evil” should be understood to mean a tree whose fruit imparts knowledge of everything, and does not necessarily contain a moral concept.
Which is not to say that the consciousness does not bring with it knowledge of ‘good and evil’. As Jeremy quotes in chapter 3:2 of his definitive book FREEDOM, Nicolai Berdyaev wrote in his 1931 book, The Destiny of Man, “Particularly bitter is moral knowledge, the knowledge of good and evil. But the bitterness is due to the fallen state of the world…Moral knowledge is the most bitter and the most fearless of all for in it sin and evil are revealed to us along with the meaning and value of life. There is a deadly pain in the very distinction of good and evil, of the valuable and the worthless.” (pp.14-16)
Again, we suggest that the meaning of the metaphor of eating the fruit from “the tree of the knowledge of good and evil” is that we became conscious, and had to search for knowledge, with the ultimate knowledge being knowledge of our ‘good and evil’ afflicted condition. As Richard Heinberg wrote in the quote included in THE Interview: “Every religion begins with the recognition that human consciousness has been separated from the divine Source, that a former sense of oneness…has been lost…everywhere in religion and myth there is an acknowledgment that we have departed from an original…innocence…the cause of the Fall is described variously as disobedience, as the eating of a forbidden fruit, and as spiritual amnesia [alienation].”

Thank you for sharing.
We all need this enlightenment
now more than ever.

I watched it with intrigue to see if it matches what I have read and researched and investigated on my own human journey.
It does match. It summarises the same ultimate spiritual conclusion whereby we have to realise we have a choice and we are here as we chose to be separated from source consciousness to experience and integrate and and we need the knowledge and understanding to accept our true nature and under stand we are working our way back to the understanding of source and pure love.
More and more people are wanting to understand the truth. Many are not ready but many are.
Condemned or not I will continue to seek truth and knowledge.
Thank you ❤🙏
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thanks Joanne. In order to avoid any misapprehension about what is being stressed here, it does need to be stressed that the solution to the human condition isn’t simply to not choose “to be separated from source consciousness”. It is to get to the bottom of the crux question of the human condition, which is WHY do we became separated in the first place — why when the universal ideals are to be loving and selfless are we so competitive and selfish, and seek to acquire so much material wealth? It is this question that Jeremy Griffith confronts and answers through first principle biology because only through understanding the dark side of ourselves — why we departed from our all-loving instincts and became selfish — can we free ourselves from the human condition and legitimately love ourselves and each other again. This is the critical difference between Jeremy’s work and the new age movement, see FAQ 6.5.

Nothing new here
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Hi Joe, we recommend reading FAQ 1.13 “Is this idea original or new?", as it explains the unique significance of Jeremy Griffith’s work. For example in THE Interview Jeremy at last explains how we acquired our moral conscience (‘morality is within and not taught’) when genetic selection is inherently a selfish process, summarised in FAQ 5.2. And most importantly, finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, Jeremy has answered the great question of why, when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless, we are so angry, competitive and selfish. This is of incredible significance because having found the good reason that we had to defy our instincts means all our defensive behaviours (our anger, egocentricity and alienation) are now redundant. This is the essence of the transformation that this unique breakthrough makes available.

We are just stupid animals and all we have to do is get rid of money it’s the route of all our problems. But this will not happen because we are so stupidly dependent on this and no one that is addicted to needing money will not give it up they would rather die they give it up.
They will kill destroy everything to keep money the goal of ever ones lives. So we are just doomed to keep this cycle going until our civilization collapses. You can ramble on about the human psyche for all you like but you will getting nowhere in the end. It will just come back to greed and money.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Hi Michael, we suggest the more you digest this presentation, the more you realise that the human condition is behind all our actions and motivations; our anger and egocentricity and the associated drive for material wealth (money) are symptoms of our insecure, human condition afflicted state. It follows that if you address that underlying insecurity, then our greed (along with all our other artificial sources of reinforcement) will be removed. And that is what this understanding does – it addresses and solves that core insecurity about our self-worth. In fact, this redeeming, uplifting and healing explanation of the human condition is SO liberating and SO exciting that it won’t be long be everyone realises that it is completely pointless to keep trying to compensate for their insecurity through the pursuit of power, fortune and glory. You might be interested in FAQ 1.40, which addresses ‘How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful?’

He uses the Bonobo species of Chimpanzees to illustrate our peaceful, cooperative past. But the more common species Pan troglodytes lives a more balanced life which involves both peaceful family cooperation along with ritualized hunting and tribal wars not to exclude documented incidents of murder. Young male Lowland Gorillas are also known to eliminate competition by killing a rival male.
All this is a matter of documented science which he cites as crucial to understanding our nature.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Jeremy Griffith explains the key biological distinction between humans and other animal species is that humans suffer from the conscious-mind-based, psychologically troubled human condition, not the genetic-opportunism-based, animal condition. And so the source of our selfish aggressive behaviour is not ‘animal instincts’ such as the chimpanzees display. No, all the evidence is that we come from a cooperative, gentle bonobo-like heritage. Jeremy discusses in Part 2, and in more detail in his definitive book FREEDOM (chapter 5), that the cooperative and gentle bonobo represent a far better model of our human ancestors than the common chimpanzee. Both share approximately 99% of their DNA with humans, however bonobo physiology, bipedality, environment, intelligence and reduced canine size, better match our human ancestors. Reduced canine size is particularly relevant as it is arguably the outstanding features of the hominin clade, and universally accepted as an indication of reduced aggression. Fossil evidence of our cooperative past, including reduced canines, has lead the prominent anthropologist C. Owen Lovejoy to write that “our species-defining cooperative mutualism can now be seen to extend well beyond the deepest Pliocene [well beyond 5.3 mya]”. No, our selfishness and aggression is not instinctive in origin; all the evidence shows that our instinctive heritage is cooperate.

Anthony
This is CRAZY 🤣🤣🤣 to say Adam and Eve are heroes and GOD is wrong. I don’t think so.
FIX THE WORLD Admin
Thank you for your comment Anthony. We certainly respect people’s religious views however we felt it was important to mention that Jeremy Griffith’s work doesn’t contradict the Bible. It simply brings biological understanding to all those pre-scientific concepts. In fact Jeremy considers the Bible to be a repository of extremely rare denial-free truth, containing all the truth about human life albeit from a pre-science view. The real issue is if people prefer a more literal fundamentalist interpretation of scripture rather than our more biological, science-based interpretation.
Specifically, as Jeremy explains in Part 2 of THE Interview: “the Biblical story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden that Moses wrote so long ago in about 1,500 BC actually perfectly describes the psychologically upsetting battle that emerged between our instincts and conscious intellect. It says Adam and Eve/we humans took the ‘fruit’ (Genesis 3:3) ‘from the tree of knowledge’ (Gen. 2:9, 17) and were ‘disobedient’ (the term widely used in descriptions of Gen. 3). In other words, we developed a conscious mind and free will. But in that pre-scientific story it says Adam and Eve then became ‘evil’ (Gen. 3:22) perpetrators of ‘sin’ (Gen. 4:7) because they became angry, egocentric and alienated, and as a result Moses said they were ‘banished…from the Garden of Eden’ (Gen. 3:23) state of cooperative and loving innocence.” With the benefit of science, thankfully we can now explain that they, we humans, weren’t bad at all; in fact, we are the heroes of the story of life on Earth!
You might be interested in the WTM’s FAQs about religion which explain that religion deserves praise for being a repository of extremely rare denial-free truth, containing all the truth about human life albeit from a pre-scientific view.
For those interested in exploring this further we suggest FAQ 6.3 ‘Does this undermine religion/God’ and FAQ 6.2 ‘What is God’. Also Jeremy’s Freedom Essays 38 – 41, which decipher religion, are absolutely fascinating.

Thank you for this examination of the human condition. I like the ideas. Makes sense. Coming from an upbringing in an environment of being told we are sinners based on the symbolism of the eviction from the garden of eden described in the bible.
You might be interested in our FAQ’s about religion.
Thanks Paul. Yes, in Part 2 biologist Jeremy Griffith explains why this discovery isn’t yet mainstream science when he points out that the issue of the human condition has been such a denied and off-limits subject that confronting it represents the “biggest of all blasphemies”, and how “science progresses funeral by funeral” when it comes to supporting big paradigm shifts like this (see FAQ 1.14 ‘Why aren’t these ideas this mainstream?’).With regard to the transformation taking generations, we would just say that as Part 4 of THE Interview, titled ‘How does the psychological rehabilitation of the human race that the arrival of understanding of the human condition finally makes possible actually occur?’ explains it will take a number of generations for the upset within us to be completely healed but it also stresses importantly we can be immediately free of its effects. / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’Finally we understand what we should all strive to achieve.. so interesting!
Thank you for bringing an awareness ! BLESS You. Expat Teacher
This really makes sense 🤔 👏 thank you so much
Incredible attempt to unravel a conundrum. I would like Jeremy Griffith to provide an explanation for the thoughts and behavior of President Donald Trump. Thank you.
Very very interesting about human thoughts!
An absolutely wonderful interview. We are starting to figure things out. Thank you.
It gives me a feeling of hope
We are of different minds willed by the individual So there’s no way we can have peace in this world, period!!! It’s like saying everyone must be the same height...and so on. All animals have the same reason with humans! They fight too in groups against others. This is physical world...no 100 percent love is possible... NEVER.
This love-indoctrination process is summarised in FAQ 5.2 ‘How did we acquire our all-loving, unconditionally selfless moral conscience?’ and further explained in Freedom Essay 21 and chapter 5 of Jeremy’s definitive book FREEDOM.Makes sense Alot has been coming to light so to speak for me recentaly . Thank you so much
It’s very good
I’m interested in reading this information.
Hi Cat, you can read or watch our ideal summary presentation THE Interview, which is the ultimate tool for quickly understanding biologist Jeremy Griffith’s paradigm-shifting work, at the top of the FIX THE WORLD homepage at HumanCondition.com where you will also see the ecstatic daily responses it is receiving. From there, ideally you would read the two expansions: Jeremy’s mid-length 2025 book The Human Condition, and his definitive book, FREEDOM, see our ‘WHAT NEXT after watching THE Interview?’ section. Along with watching or reading those 3 titles, it is very helpful to watch the 3 Intro Videos, which are The Great Guilt, The Great Transformation, and Sermon On The Beach. Also, the 16 main videos are very instructive. All our videos and books are freely available to watch, read or download on our website.

This is very interesting to me. No one has covered those details as good as the professor.
I expected new discovery from this biologist that will help us to understand more about human behaviour and condition but I find it a bit pessimistic that it can even be tried let alone fix it. So my question is how is it going to be done? Have you tried to fix yourself and if so what is the result, how long it took..etc?
Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’.An extremely fascinating insight into our own human condition!
Stay strong
Amazing amazing amazing I need to share this now please take a few min for yourself and watch this now it’ll save your life literally
Thank God people are starting to wake up
You are amazing
1. Humans have conscious impulses therefore we cannot also have innate aggressive and reproductive instincts. Animals (except for apes apparently) have no such conscious impulses (and we prove this how?), therefore we are completely different from them. (This is illogical, everyone except maybe for certain midwit biologists knows there are both.) 2. Because of 1, our problem is some type of psychosis that can be healed. (And if healed, will we no longer seek to reproduce?) 3. It’s alienation from God, not from our animal nature and other less-enlightened humans.] What is this “gene based learning system”, is it just natural selection that “learns” by adaptation over multiple generations? There’s an awful lot of self congratulation in this video, wasting a lot of the time, and making it hard to identify the actual argument and its weak points. And also talk of urgency, creating the risk that people will be stampeded on board. Therefore I’ve summarized the argument and refuted it above.
We certainly respect people’s religious views, including the idea of “alienation from God.” But what’s being presented here doesn’t contradict those perspectives — it provides a biological explanation for the same human experience that religions have long described in non-scientific terms. Readers might find our FAQs about religion of interest, especially FAQs ‘What is God’ and ‘Does this understanding undermine religion’.The explanation itself is very simple but our historic fear of the subject of the human condition can make it difficult to absorb or ‘hear’, and therefore ‘summarize’ accurately. That created an unavoidable conflict between our instincts (which can only orient behaviour) and our intellect (which has to understand through experience).Unable to initially explain its own deviations, the conscious mind became psychologically insecure and defensive. That’s what led to the emergence of anger, egocentricity and alienation — the psychologically upset state we refer to as the human condition. So the claim being made is that this long-standing psychological conflict now has a clear explanation. And with that understanding, the need for those defensive behaviours is removed.Read Commendations and Reviews for this explanation, including that of Professor David Chivers, University of Cambridge anthropologist and former President of the Primate Society of Great Britain, who wrote, "The sequence of discussion in FREEDOM is so logical and sensible, providing the necessary breakthrough in the critical issue of needing to understand ourselves."You don’t have to accept that conclusion — but it’s important to represent the argument accurately before dismissing it. We suggest everyone listens to Part 1 of THE Interview for themselves; and for a very brief summary of the ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation we recommend FAQ 1.3 ‘What is biologist Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition?’Sehr Verehrte, Bin sehr interessiert for more information about your transformation. [Dear Sir or Madam, I am very interested in finding out more about your transformation. (Tr. from German)]
Great interview!
Hmm interesting
Excellent
Can I comment? Somewhat disagree. Does not address the basic evolutionary principles, diversity is the most important fact over the millions of years for any life form, genetics loads the gun, the environment fires it. The human condition is just the environment dictating outcomes, which will change over time. Explain cryptic paternity, extra group copulation, outbreeding. Basic genetic diversity.
They demonstrate that there is a psychological dimension to our behaviour; that we don’t suffer from a genetic-opportunism-driven ‘animal condition’, but a conscious-mind-based, psychologically troubled HUMAN CONDITION.As Jeremy explains in chapter 2:2 of his definitive book FREEDOM, Arthur Koestler was one scientist frustrated by mechanistic, reductionist science’s avoidance of our species’ consciousness-induced, human-condition-afflicted psychosis, writing that ‘symptoms of the mental disorder which appears to be endemic in our species…are specifically and uniquely human, and not found in any other species. “Reductionism” is the philosophical belief that all human activities can be “reduced” to – i.e., explained by – the [non-psychosis involved] behavioural responses of lower animals – Pavlov’s dogs, Skinner’s rats and pigeons, Lorenz’s greylag geese, Morris’s hairless apes…That is why the scientific establishment has so pitifully failed to define the predicament of man’ (Janus: A Summing Up, 1978, p.19 of 354).Good day and thank you for another chance
Well done!!!!! Amazing!!! Stunning!!!
Very interesting and thought-provoking interview! I look at the world, at this point, with all what’s happening around us and I must say, I will need to ponder on what I heard and understood for a while, before I am able to comment in a meaningful way. Thank you!
There is reference to a video about blocking of gifts but I am unable to find it.
Hi Ken, the video being referred to is Video/Freedom Essay 1 in the Freedom Essay Series titled Your block to the most wonderful of all gifts: it can be watched, listened to and read HERE on our website. It follows the initial 4 key videos on FIX THE WORLD’s homepage, namely THE Interview, The Great Guilt that causes the Deaf Effect, The Great Transformation and Sermon On The Beach.
‘We shall not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time’ with understanding !!!!!
Finally!!! Good on ya!!! nP.S. (Griffiths was my grand mother’s maiden name married a ubiquitous jones from north wales. She was from south wales which was taboo) Youngest of 11 siblings born in/near Nan Ty glo in wales in 1895. Large contingent of whom emigrated to Australia
This js hustle one man’s opinion. There are many differing opinions.
It quickly becomes clear that not only are the facts and logic underlying the ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation established and unarguable, the theory also has an extraordinary ‘explanatory power’, which is one of the essential qualities of a scientific theory.”To make the world a better place
Good I know
Listen to this as many times as you need to! Until it makes sense to you. This isn’t to impress anyone. It’s for all of us. Individual by individual! If you are a spiritual individual. May your understanding bless you and yours! Gabriel.
Any insight that promotes life that leads to universal familial is heartfully welcomed.
20 minutes and we are still at the intro !!!!
Extremely interesting! However, I have many questions!
Thanks for your feedback German. We thought it worth mentioning even though THE Interview is a summary presentation it does provide references to more comprehensive material where answers to questions are presented. Also, to assist enquirers we have an extensive FAQ facility which can be easily searched electronically along with all our books and essays. We also recommend subscribing to our mailing list where you will receive one email per week and occasional News Flashes. We also encourage people to join our Facebook Group to learn more about this amazing, human-condition-resolved new world.
So appreciated running into this video and to find people who are so connected with the universe and with humankind and willing to share to help Humanity progress and live a better existence thank you
Wow what a fantastic video.
Makes a lot of sense. Where can I buy the book. In Nairobi, Kenya.
Hi Macktosh, it’s great you’ve watched THE Interview as it’s the ideal introduction to Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition. You can immediately access PDF copies of all Jeremy Griffith’s books, including his new book titled '‘The Human Condition’, on the FIX THE WORLD homepage www.humancondition.com under the ‘WHAT NEXT’ section. You will see that as well as PDFs, you can freely access electronic copies to read, listen to or download. You can also download free Kindle versions from Amazon. If you want to purchase a hardcopy, you can do so from all good bookstores, including Amazon.
I am inspired by this truth because it confirms the revelation of my book title “The Womb of Creation” I now know that when you know the truth the truth will set you free. I am liberated..Thank you
Exciting read! Elizabeth
They are prevented from thinking effectively and thus from becoming conscious of the true relationship of events that occur through time.”Sounded like some valuable information and insights and i agree that people should listen to this more than once. I think I’m gonna play it again right now😁👍
Awesome interview/discussion, I gained a lot from this. Insights into questions that I often ask myself with no clear answers. I will listen again uninterupted. Thanks for this enlightening interview.
So now that we know that we should just be able to perceive differently?
Define condition … mortal? …filled with disease??? Never known this was a problem?? So what is solution??? To Die, stop being human??? Is the solution we all get lobotomy?? This is why we have religion, Buddhism teaches mindful thinking.
All our books and videos are freely available to watch, read or download on FIX THE WORLD homepage at HumanCondition.com.For a short summary of what the term human condition actually refers to please see our FAQ 1.1 ‘What exactly is the human condition’ where Jeremy explains that the human condition is the immensely mentally insecure and psychologically distressed state that all humans have suffered from as a result of a clash between our species’ original non-understanding, dictatorial, instinctive orientations to the world, and our newer fully conscious mind that needs to understand the world to operate. And so it’s that underlying issue — our destructively behaved, so-called human condition — that really has to be addressed and fixed if we are to solve the world’s problems.”While religions contain all manner of truths about human life, it is all from a pre-scientific view and finding the answer to the human condition depended on being able to explain our biology. This is awesome. Mind blowing and very educative.
The needs this is a great insight in correcting all the ills of this world and especially now that it has been explained from a scientific angle
Yes we need to heal races of this world. Finding thought processes of understand stability. Faith love humans conditions understand of misunderstand .rebuilding human understand.
20 minutes in and he has barely said anything. I think he needs to pick another subject for his next book. Good luck!
For the growing momentum of support that is building around the world for biologist Jeremy Griffith’s breakthrough explanation of the human condition, see the thousands of impressive commendations Jeremy’s work has received from thought leaders and members of the public here on our website and we now have over 80 FIX THE WORLD Centres that have opened across the globe.Absolutely riveting so my following of Karl Jung has so enhanced and freed me. Wonderfully and simply explained. My sincere thanks to you.
This is a great understanding of why mankind exists in this evil state. Look forward to seeing mankind transform back to the loving, peaceful existence the way God intended.
A great interview and explanation of us humans. Hopefully the human race can finally get back to the garden of Eden and the world can become a better place for all of us. 😀
Wow, I have just seen the interview, and it really is mindblowing. I live in Argentina and would really like to get the book Freedom, on papers or Ebook. What a privilige to find J. Griffith! Thank You!

Amazing video, educational and thought provoking ..mesmerising to me
A brilliant description of the challenge between genetic instinctual driven behaviour and conscious thought driven behaviour and our consequent psychological distress.
Awesome
Keep up the good work!!!
And how will humans deal with our religious heritage which continues insisting on “the original sin” which all humans are supposedly born with?
Thanks for your comment, Ben. Jeremy Griffith’s work doesn’t contradict a belief in God or Christianity, or the Bible’s content. It simply brings biological understanding to all those pre-scientific concepts. In fact, Jeremy considers the Bible to be a repository of extremely rare denial-free truth, containing all the truth about human life albeit from a pre-science view. Although this is science, it is based on a Godly nature in the sense of recognising, like all the great religions do, that we humans once lived in a pre-human-condition-afflicted state of original innocence where we were perfectly instinctively orientated to the cooperative, selfless, loving, ‘Godly’ ideals of life; ‘God’ being explained in as being the integrative meaning of life (see FAQ 6.2).Our additional FAQs about religion may also be of interest, especially FAQ 6.3 ‘Does this understanding undermine religion’, which includes the section ‘How can you reconcile the explanation of the human condition that defends the upset state with religious teachings that condemn upset?’That section explains that, "With understanding of the human condition we can now appreciate that in order to encourage people to adhere to the integrative, ‘Godly’, cooperative ideals of life, religions sought to restrain ‘upset’ behaviour by making people fearful of behaving in an overly angry, egocentric and alienated way. As a result, many people who grew up with strict religious doctrine suffer all their life from the ‘you’ll-burn-in-hell-if-you-sin, fire and brimstone’-terror that they were subjected to as children.Obviously what was desperately missing was the reconciling understanding of our upset behaviour and the Godly ideals; reconciling understanding of the human condition in fact—which is exactly what Jeremy Griffith presents us with. No wonder the reconciling understanding of the human condition has brought incredible relief to people who have spent a lifetime suffering from religious fire-and-brimstone teaching!"Need to follow the explanation
An amazing interview! Explains so much!
Leo para aprender y poner en práctica en el menor tiempo y espacio posible. GRACIAS [I read to learn and put what I’ve learnt into practice as quickly and efficiently as possible. THANK YOU (Tr. from Spanish)]
Hey fellas! There IS nothing to “fix”, but something to continually keep in mind: “Progress….NOT perfection.” God bless. Rochelle
I NOW HAVE FAITH IN THE WORLD
Human nature and human condition has become a mystery with different perspectives that have even complicate the subject matter HUMAN and why we are here on earth. A biological answer or perspective is definitely an interesting logical view...
Very good!!👍🏼 I’d like to hear more, please share w/me! Thank you, Susan!!’

Insightful
Orlinsky (notes to the NJPS Torah) and Nicolas Wyatt (Space and Time in the Religious Life of the Near East) have written that the “tree of the knowledge of good and evil” should be understood to mean a tree whose fruit imparts knowledge of everything, and does not necessarily contain a moral concept.Which is not to say that the consciousness does not bring with it knowledge of ‘good and evil’. There is a deadly pain in the very distinction of good and evil, of the valuable and the worthless.” (pp.14-16)Again, we suggest that the meaning of the metaphor of eating the fruit from “the tree of the knowledge of good and evil” is that we became conscious, and had to search for knowledge, with the ultimate knowledge being knowledge of our ‘good and evil’ afflicted condition. As Richard Heinberg wrote in the quote included in THE Interview: “Every religion begins with the recognition that human consciousness has been separated from the divine Source, that a former sense of oneness…has been lost…everywhere in religion and myth there is an acknowledgment that we have departed from an original…innocence…the cause of the Fall is described variously as disobedience, as the eating of a forbidden fruit, and as spiritual amnesia [alienation].”I loved the information he gave. I followed along without missing a step! Thank you for sharing. We all need this enlightenment now more than ever.
Thank you ❤🙏
Thanks Joanne.
Excellent
Nothing new here
Hi Joe, we recommend reading FAQ 1.13 “Is this idea original or new?", as it explains the unique significance of Jeremy Griffith’s work.
“No that story got it wrong Adam and Eve actually not just good but the heroes of the whole story of life on earth”: Awesome
Very helpful understanding of the human condition, that will help the mankind to live peacefully.
The interview is eye opening for me.
Thank you for this interview. God bless you, amen
Very interesting, I have not seen it all yet but what I have got me not only excited but has got me wondering why I did not see it before now I know why. It has done me good and has added a depth to my life.
Thankyou Mr Griffith
Very insightful information
This is CRAZY 🤣🤣🤣 to say Adam and Eve are heroes and GOD is wrong. I don’t think so.
The real issue is if people prefer a more literal fundamentalist interpretation of scripture rather than our more biological, science-based interpretation.Specifically, as Jeremy explains in Part 2 of THE Interview: “the Biblical story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden that Moses wrote so long ago in about 1,500 BC actually perfectly describes the psychologically upsetting battle that emerged between our instincts and conscious intellect. Also Jeremy’s Freedom Essays 38 – 41, which decipher religion, are absolutely fascinating.Great explanation.
Fix the World 🌎. This is truly amazing and very beautiful in our world. Ignorance of the human condition has since time immemorial left humanity in enormous suffering, and any remedy is a welcome for humanity liberty
