Astounding, piercingly insightful. I’d always wondered; is man born innately good, but become corrupted by his environment over time? This interview breaks the barriers between religion, science and politics. Universally, we were all raised on shoulda, coulda, woulda, which has contributed to the current societal populous of anxious aggressive, pain ridden, and depressed state of self worth based on the environment we are living in. But the “how” we reach the harmonious state of being Jeremy speaks of on the whole remains unanswered; there are 8.1 billion human beings on the planet today; so the how is the trillion dollar question. Perhaps the answer is found in his book “Freedom” which I can’t wait to obtain and dive into! Amazing interview!
WTM Admin
Jeremy Griffith’s work is about confronting and solving the human condition, and given our historic way of coping with the human condition has been to avoid it at all costs, this REAL path to our species achieving to a “harmonious state of being” is a tough one to initiate. However humanity’s uptake of the explanation of the human condition has a fast finish, because, as he explains in chapter 9 of his definitive book FREEDOM, once people start having the legitimate ‘change of heart’ that this information allows, the selflessness that it liberates will not only quickly solve all the problems on the planet, the excitement and joy it brings means everyone will want to get on board as quickly as they can! For example, Jeremy writes in chapter 9:9, “Although this new world for humans, which the World Transformation Movement has been established to facilitate, will have a slow beginning because humans initially find it difficult even taking in or ‘hearing’ discussion about the human condition, once the WTM is discovered, word of it and what it offers every human and the world will spread like wildfire—as the exceptional denial-free thinking prophet Teilhard de Chardin wrote, ‘The Truth has to only appear once…for it to be impossible for anything ever to prevent it from spreading universally and setting everything ablaze’”.
On this point, we recommend FAQ 1.40 which addresses the questions of ‘How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’

Certainly there has been a recognition in literature (and by profound thinkers generally) that there must be something better than our current human condition-afflicted state. However many people have deluded themselves that this liberated state could be achieved through people artificially restraining, sublimating or even transcending their upset, corrupted condition, but the truth is that resolving our upset condition could only be achieved by confronting, truthfully thinking about, and finally explaining and thus solving the human condition at its source, which is what Jeremy Griffith has done. In the end it was only getting to the bottom of it all that could fulfil Richard Bach’s allegorical quest for perfection.

This is an important insight and the right direction towards building the right balance between human wants and desires and the subconscious behaviour. The search for human identity is not from instincts but the direct obedience to the consciousness. Accepting this thinking will help humans to come back from troubled consciousness and stop justifying our troubled condition.

Hi, am from Mombasa Kenya. I have watched the whole podcast Interview between Craig and Jeremy. Am so fascinated with the the most epic discovery Jeremy has made. The explanation has made my Mind to make a U-turn and allow me to Analyse and come to terms with a million dollar Question of Why we are so full of these unbelievable Human behaviour thus Condition. Am ideally so enlightened and Very informed. This scientific research is so evident in both human and animal is so vividly expressed by Bonobo... Has left me with deeper understanding. I Wish this discovery could reach ever human across all Continents in different languages, Am as well so touch with Biblical explanation on the Fall of Man this is just so real Amazing work.

Linda
Thank you for this information. My granddaughter tried to end her life and I need more understanding of what’s going on with her!
Thank you🌹
WTM Admin
Thank you so much for your comment, Linda. Yes, levels of mental distress have reached frightening levels, and it is heartbreaking what it is doing to younger generations.
What we can now understand with Jeremy Griffith’s compassionate explanation of the human condition is that not only did the search for knowledge cause us to become psychologically upset, these levels of upset compounded through generations because of the soul-destroying influence of the existing levels of upset in society from all the upsetting searching for knowledge that has taken place before you arrived in the world. We have now reached a point, where, to quote Jeremy from Part 2 of THE Interview: “While we’ve had to live in denial of our corrupted, psychologically upset condition while we couldn’t explain it, the truth is that on a graph showing the ever-increasing levels of upset in humans, those levels, especially of psychosis and alienation, have been increasing so rapidly lately that the line tracking their rise is near vertical with the amount of upset virtually doubling now in each new generation!”
We recommend reading ‘Aspect 1’ of Jeremy Griffith’s booklet Our Meaning, which deals with ‘1. the psychologically paralysed state of the younger Millennial, Z and Alpha generations’ We would also recommend Freedom Essay 30 titled ‘Resignation’, in which Jeremy explains the terrible depression that adolescents go through when they confront the non-ideal state of the world, and also their own lack of ideality.
What is so wonderful though, Linda, is that with this explanation, as Jeremy explains in Our Meaning, “the Millennial, Z and Alpha generations can now at last make sense of their extreme suffering, and they can also be part of the most exciting event in human history, the great break-out of the human race from the human condition!” Yes, we can understand humans’ psychological upset was the price humans had to pay for searching for knowledge and that the human story presents the greatest, most heroic story ever told. We can at last understand the source of our upset and bring great compassion and kindness to ourselves and others and, most significantly, we don’t have to overly confront the upset within us — see FAQ 1.19 ‘A caution about the danger of over-exposure / Advice for people with mental health issues’.

Very interesting, but don’t the bonobos or great apes, engage in male combat of some sort and have harems? I’ll look into the www for more info.
WTM Admin
As described in Part 3 of THE Interview, because of the nurturing based love-indoctrination process (which is how we humans developed our all loving instinctive self or soul), bonobos are extraordinarily matriarchal, or female role focused, and extraordinarily nurturing. They have not completed the love-indoctrination process, so there are remnants of selfish reciprocity, sexual opportunism and aggression in bonobo behaviour, however, as indicated in THE Interview, the greater truth is that they are extraordinarily gentle and cooperative. For example, while bonobo males still have altercations, they are relatively gentle: there has never been a recorded death in the wild. This is completely unlike common chimpanzees for example, who practice infanticide, form troups that will kill members of other groups, and males who kill other males, and use violence to coerce females into sex.
The truth is that without the defence for our own angry, selfish behaviour, the nurturing, peaceful and gentle bonobos have been very confronting, and so ever since they were recognised as a species in 1929, people have had to find ways of undermining them, which they have done by saying they are actually violent, and, as explained in chapter 6 of Jeremy’s definitive book FREEDOM, that if they aren’t violent, then it has nothing to do with nurturing.

I have just partially recovered of a terrible Loss. I need a re-set of my mind. Your lecture sounds like the remedy I need. Thanks

Thank you, Henck, and we send our sympathies for your loss. Once our species’ original all-loving instinctive state is explained we can appreciate the depth of sensitivity and therefore grief humans can experience. We hope that THE Interview, with its promise of hope for the human race, provides the re-set you seek.

Madeleine Meijers
Beautiful podcast. It seems to me that finally science and the old mystic schools are pointing all in the same direction namely inwards. Know thyself. Your true Self, if you fall back on to the Self there you find Love, peace and everlasting happiness. Our neurotic, (passive) aggresive conditioned self or ego that is always trying to grab something or to avoid another thing and which is driving us nuts is vailing/hiding our true Self. It became very clear to me that this (re) discovery of our true Self is a great opportunity for mankind in our age. If you want more info about how to (re) connect with your true Self look up Rupert Spira on the internet, The Direct Path.
WTM Admin
Thaks Madeleine. It is astonishing to finally have the human condition solved and be able to legitimately return to our “true self”. To do this science had to answer the the crux question of why when the universal ideals are to be loving and selfless are we so competitive and selfish? This is what Jeremy Griffith has answered with his ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation and why it is heralded as the biological breakthrough that can save the world. We now know that our “neurotic, (passive) aggresive conditioned self or ego that is always trying to grab something or to avoid another thing” was the hero of the whole story! (See FAQ 6.5 which explains the critical difference between Jeremy’s work and the New Age Movement). Again, only solving the human condition could allow us to legitimately return to our true self.
Dave Blazer
Very interesting and inspiring at the same time. At years of age, my time is limited on this earth. So how does one become a disciple/follower of the truth?
WTM Admin
Hi Dave. Firstly, with regard to your use of the words “disciple/follower” it is important to clarify that unlike with religions, what Jeremy Griffith presents is first principle-based, rational, testable, biological understanding of the human condition. There is no dogma, faith or belief involved. FAQ 6.1 explains why this information, and the movement which supports it, is the antithesis of a religion. However, this understanding does bring about a profound transformation in our lives. As Part 4 of THE Interview explains, this understanding of the human condition liberates us from an underlying insecurity and resulting psychosis that all humans have suffered from since we became a fully conscious species some 2 million years ago, which allows the immediate transformation of everyone’s life because, as Jeremy Griffith says, “while it will take a number of generations to heal all the upset in us humans, everyone can immediately live free of their upset. The reason we can live free of it is that while we lacked the real defence and reinforcement of understanding of our corrupted condition, we absolutely needed the artificial defences and reinforcements of attacking any criticism of our corrupted condition, of denying and blocking it out, and of finding any positive reinforcement we could—anger, alienation and egocentricity are what sustained us—but now that we have the real defence and reinforcement of our fundamental goodness, all these artificial defences and reinforcements are obsoleted, they are no longer needed.” You can read more about the immediate transformation this understanding makes possible in FAQ 4.1.

The understanding that instinct vs intellect is causing a kind of neurosis within the human condition explains the war within each and every person. The understanding that because of these opposing factions, we are inherently ashamed to be human is easily understood by the everyday person, such as myself.
It appears to me after assimilating this information, my intuition tells me our primordial instincts have not been keen to give in to the incoming intellect. Therefore, I have a very vivid picture within my minds eye of an arm-wrestle, wherein the favored arm is trying to defeat the intruder intellect.
Yet, despite this battle, my layman’s understanding has given me permission to forgive myself for being human. This process of forgiving myself might just be the harmony that unites the left with the right brain. The Alchemical wedding.
Joe D Chege
Listening to Jeremy Griffith in this interview with Mr Craig, I feel like a very huge burden has been lifted off my shoulders. Not only has the true nature of the “human condition” and its cause — about which I have been troubled all my life — becomes clearer to me. His thesis that the solution for it is now within our grasp is not only compelling, but also enlightening and confidence-inspiring. Clearly there is a ray of hope for humanity and the planet.

Okay!
Nice to listen all of these subjective views!
There is no end for this.
Let’s try to be objective as much as we can!
WTM Admin
What Jeremy Griffith has presented with the ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition is a completely logical, rational, fully accountable, scientific explanation of our condition. We can now understand that science as it has been practiced has been predicated on the denial of the human condition, and so it has been anything but the objective discipline it has claimed to be. What is being presented here, is the first real, objectively true and accountable, science because it confronts, not denies our condition. See our FAQ 1.10 which includes answers for ‘what scientific evidence is there for Griffith’s instincts vs intellect explanation?’, and ‘is this real science?’.

Why the need to become political ?
”It was actually the right-wing who have supported the upsetting battle to find knowledge that held the moral highground, not the pseudo idealistic left-wing.”
Not the statement of a transformed human:
“ Now, most wonderfully of all, the instinct vs intellect explanation of the human condition not only exposes the culture of the Left for the human-race-destroying lie that it is, it also, as I said, brings to an end the whole upsetting search for the rehabilitating understanding of why we’re good and not bad, and what this means is that it’s no longer oppressive of that upsetting search to take up support of cooperative and loving idealism—because that search is over.”
.
WTM Admin
Jeremy Griffith’s biological ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition allows us to understand the real merits and liabilities of both the left and right wings of politics. For example, when we understand that the search for knowledge, namely the search for understanding of our ‘good and evil’-stricken human condition, has been all-important, we can see that, paradoxically, it is the left, not the right, that poses the real threat to humanity because the left’s dogmatically imposed idealism inhibits freedom of thought and that search for understanding. Jeremy is not demonising the left wing (indeed, in his book FREEDOM he acknowledges the importance of compassion in holding a society together) but rather explains from scientific first principles the serious threat posed by pseudo idealism to humanity’s ultimate goal of finding understanding. We suggest you visit our FAQs about politics and Jeremy’s booklet Death by Dogma: The biological reason why the Left is leading us to extinction, and the solution.
REV KOFI SACHIE

Is it possible that nurturing was also an original instinct and we have not given up on that instinct because it is a good instinct.? Only the instincts we allowed ourselves to defy are the instincts causing us problems.
The instinct to nurture is what became morality.
WTM Admin
As Jeremy Griffith explains in Part 3 of THE Interview, the selfish process of natural selection was able to create in our forebears our all-loving instinctive self or soul, the voice of which is our conscience, through the nurturing based ‘love-indoctrination’ process. And so it is true that nurturing is the basis of our morality. Jeremy explains: “like the obvious truth that our species once lived cooperatively and lovingly, this truth that we acquired our moral instincts through nurturing has been an unbearable truth while we couldn’t explain why we humans became angry, egocentric and alienated and as a result lost the ability to adequately nurture our offspring with unconditional selflessness or love. The truth of our species’ Edenic all-loving and all-sensitive innocent past, and the truth that nurturing is what made us human, have both been impossible truths to accept while we couldn’t truthfully explain our present immensely corrupted human condition, explain why our species became so corrupted and lost the ability to fully nurture its offspring.” (You can read more about the love-indoctrination process in FAQ 5.2)

Facinating!
MR
This is a helluva lot more sense than some Bible thrown at u, calling u evil. Why must ppl assume we competed? We NEEDED each other and if that wasn’t true, we would never have survived as a species bec we would have killed each other to extinction.
WTM Admin
Yes, with our current angry, aggressive behaviour now defended, it is safe to admit that our species has a loving and cooperative past. Until now it was too confronting of our present state to admit it. While THE Interview summarises the science of the love-indoctrination process that gave rise to this edenic state, which can be seen in the bonobos, and was responsible for the establishment of humanity’s all-loving instinctive self or soul, the explanation of love-indoctrination is fully presented in chapter 5 of FREEDOM.
With regard to the Bible and how it ‘put the fear of God’ into people, as is explained in FAQ 6.3, “With understanding of the human condition we can now appreciate that in order to encourage people to adhere to the integrative, ‘Godly’, cooperative ideals of life, religions sought to restrain ‘upset’ behaviour by making people fearful of behaving in an overly angry, egocentric and alienated way.” The FAQ then goes on to explain that, “Obviously what was desperately missing was the reconciling understanding of our upset behaviour and the Godly ideals; reconciling understanding of the human condition in fact—which is exactly what Jeremy Griffith presents us with. With the understanding of the human condition that explains why we departed from those Godly ideals, no longer does anybody have to preach, or be terrorised by, religious dogma. And everyone can now understand the aligning (with Integrative Meaning) and restraining (of upset)—albeit repressive—purpose of religious doctrine. No wonder the reconciling understanding of the human condition has brought incredible relief to people who have spent a lifetime suffering from religious fire-and-brimstone teaching!”

Amazing!
Thank you for putting together Genes and Neurology to clarify human condition inquiries. I also think about the struggles in this topic, of the adopted people when infant, and the changes of changing names in the biological discourse. Going further, think about the people that DON’T KNOW that they were adopted early on. Imagine if they become presidents, Generals, etc, and carry this aggressive baggage. Thanks that now there is a relief of new understandings. Thank you for your compelling work illuminating our future!
WTM Admin
The truth is that no child has recieved as much nurturing as their instincts expect since the emergence of the human condition. THE Interview explains that it is ONLY NOW that we can explain the competitive, selfish and aggressive upset state of the human condition and thus understand why the present human-condition-afflicted human race hasn’t been able to nurture our infants as much as their instincts expect that it becomes safe to finally admit just how important nurturing is. What is astonishing is now the human condition is solved we can understand it has been humanity’s necessary preoccupation with finding knowledge that has compromised our ability to nurture and now that preoccupation ends nurturing will again become humanity’s central focus. You can read more about the impact of the human condition on our ability to nurture in chapter 8:16C of Jeremy’s book FREEDOM, and chapter 8:16D explains how this led to the development of extreme egocentricity, especially in men.

NEED TO SEE THIS INTERVIEW
Julie Saunders
I may be ignorant but how does this differ from ID and EGO?
WTM Admin
No worries at all Julie, there is a lot to digest here. As is explained in our FAQ 1.47 about the work of Freud and Jung, there is a fundamental difference between Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition (which is illustrated by the Adam Stork story) and Freud’s theory of the Id, Ego and Superego. While Jeremy acknowledges Freud’s courageous recognition that humans carry negative, repressed elements of our personality, a ‘repressed unconscious’, beyond that, there is very little similarity. Freud believed that the ‘ID’, our unconscious, instinctive mind, contained primitive selfish ‘savage’ urges that the conscious mind or ‘ego’ has to control, whereas Jeremy has now explained that our instinctive self is completely loving and cooperative, and that our aggressive and selfish behaviour is psychological in origin, the result of a clash between our instincts and intellect. Freud also believed that our morals are learnt and held by the superego, whereas Jeremy has now explained that they are the expression of our loving, cooperative moral soul or instincts. By starting from the false basis that we have ‘savage instincts’ that the ego had to control and mediate meant that Freud was not able to explain the ultimate source of human’s psychological problems.

I remember on New Years 2000 a program was asking what will the future bring in the next millennium. Predictions were break throughs would be from not just knowing our DNA gene sequences but epigenetics holds the future of molecular biology. Just my point..Life is simple. We just chose to complicate our daily lives and depending on our situations and interactions with each other.
We have just lost touch with each other especially as our.technological tools take over our lives, we are not even communicating on even morning greetings for example. We are in same room but so isolated no talks,no laughs. Just in our.own.world. We need to reconnect,we need to.find love love and be loved, stop the greed, selfish, lack of Emphathy, etc etc.
We need to heal the world
WTM Admin
Thanks for your thoughts Nicola. Yes, after millions of years of the corrupting journey to find knowledge, we are now almost completely alienated, not only from our original, all-loving instinctive self or soul, but from each other. The key missing piece in ‘healing the world’ has been our inability to explain our species’ fundamental goodness, an insecurity that was behind all our greed, selfishness and complete preoccupation with proving our worth. We now have that piece of understanding, and as a result, we now have the fundamental foundation from which to rehabilitate everybody and bring a completely empathetic, connected, world into existence.

As I followed the interview and, of course, struggled to reach a complete understanding of this new idea about the human race, I felt that we are approaching the discovery of a new “religion” or “faith” that can transform our beliefs about mythological conditions.
The question is; Since this science is beneficial to human beings, why not include it in the educational systems in the world so that a better understanding to life and human relationships may create better communities and a peaceful life?
This interview opened my mind to another dimension in my understanding of life!
Thank you, and please include me in your contact list so I receive more updates!
WTM Admin
Of course, this breakthrough understanding of the human condition needs to be taught in all educational systems, in fact it has to, and will, become the focal point of all education, but as Jeremy Griffith points out in Part 2 of THE Interview the issue of the human condition has been such a denied and off-alimits subject that confronting it represents the “biggest of all blasphemies”, and how “science progresses funeral by funeral” when it comes to supporting big paradigm shifts like this. So it is up to the resolve of individuals, to help the WTM break through the road block of the legitimate fear and resulting deaf effect the subject of the human condition causes in most people. You might find these links helpful: FAQ 1.14 ‘Why aren’t these ideas mainstream’.
Having said that, as Jeremy explains in chapter 9.9 of his book FREEDOM: “Although this new world for humans, which the World Transformation Movement has been established to facilitate, will, as has been stated, have a slow beginning because humans initially find it difficult even taking in or ‘hearing’ discussion about the human condition, once the WTM is discovered, word of it and what it offers every human and the world will spread like wildfire.’” And so even though we haven’t yet reached the tipping point in terms of awareness of this great breakthrough, you can see from the excitement and relief in our ecstatic responses to THE Interview, we are well on our way! Also, on our homepage, you can see the rapidly growing appreciation and support for Jeremy’s work with outstanding commendations from thought leaders and WTM Centres all over the world!
You can subscribe to our mailing list where you will receive one email per week, occasional News Flashes, and notificatons for our Live Events. We also encourage people to join our Facebook Group to learn more about this amazing, human-condition-resolved new world.

Almost common sense.
WTM Admin
Yes, it is incredibly simple, and in retrospect, incredibly obvious, but as Jeremy Griffith points out in Part 2 of THE Interview, the issue of the human condition has historically been so terrifying that we have had to live in denial of the whole subject! As he says, there was this massive metaphorical elephant in the room, our extremely alienated condition, that no one was confronting or admitting.

So what you saying is, your sins are forgiven, go in peace
WTM Admin
As THE Interview explains, humans are born with loving moral instincts but we all now variously suffer from a psychosis due to the human condition and, in the extreme, that psychologically conflicted upset state produces extremely destructive behaviour, or what has historically been called ‘sinful’ or ‘evil’. Of course this breakthrough explanation doesn’t condone or sanction the horrendous atrocities humans can commit rather, through bringing compassionate understanding to the source of humans’ upset behaviour, it gives us the power to ameliorate and thus subside and ultimately eliminate it, see FAQ 1.38 ‘Aren’t some people just born psychopathic, or even ‘evil’? / How does this explanation rehabilitate people capable of ‘evil’ behaviour? / Does this condone ‘evil’ behaviour?’. As the late Professor Harry Prosen, psychiatrist and former president of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, said: ‘I have no doubt Jeremy Griffith’s biological explanation of the human condition is the holy grail of insight we have sought for the psychological rehabilitation of the human race.’

As an evolutionary biologist I have long accepted the role of instinct in human behaviour, but been unable to reconcile it with consciousness and self-will. Although it is obvious to anyone who does any self-examination at all that there is a complicated interaction between the two that is well-nigh impossible to sort out for yourself as an individual. I find nothing about this explanation that I disagree with, and describing it as a conflict between our instinctive subconscious and willful consciousness resonates with Truth.

This guy is Soo right but there are two problems one: the 1procenters are motivated by greed ONLY and they basically own the world’s wealth... second one person is smart , but we as world population are blind and stupid look what is happening in the world today

What is so important about Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition is that it finally explains the real reason for why humans’ competitive behaviour became an unavoidable, indeed necessary, part of human life. Proving we were better than someone else gave us validation and reinforcement to counter the deep insecurity we felt about having to become self-corrupted. And so competition, sustained by the incentives of materialism and capitalism, are what maintained humanity’s heroic search for knowledge, ultimately for self-knowledge. Now with our goodness and worth biologically established, we no longer need to be preoccupied with proving our goodness and worth. Solving the human condition solves all the confusion, frustration and suffering in human life at its source so we can actually stop the destruction of ourselves and the planet and save the world. See FAQ 1.40, which addresses the questions of ‘Aren’t the problems of the world too overwhelming to ever be fixed? / Isn’t it too late to save the world? / How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’

Great speech, I wish this was to put at schools for kids to absorb at early stage. I believe that us humans when we reach the age twenty there is no going back, the solid base is done. What you have learn till than will guide you the rest of your life..

Yes, this desperately needed biological understanding and solution to the human condition needs to be introduced to everyone everywhere, and it won’t be long before understanding the human condition forms the basis of everyone’s education. Imagine growing up where the main thing you are taught is the redeeming explanation for why adults aren’t ideally behaved! Children will no longer have to grapple with the great questions alone, and not being able to answer that depressing question, eventually resign themselves to a life of escapism and seeking reinforcement. It is so hard to stick to the truth of this. The human condition is deteriorating in the global consumerist culture. Sometimes things like social media teach us things that aren’t exactly helpful. Thanks for this beautiful work. You don’t know what a big favour you guys are doing to the world by putting your personal reflections and studies on the topic out there. Normally no one cares and its every man for himself. But you guys ARE doing something wonderful by putting this information out there.
WTM Admin
Thank you for your thoughts Sarah. Don’t despair, this liberating understanding will soon transform the world. As Jeremy explains in Freedom Essay 15, “It is this particular undeniable consequence of the arrival of understanding of the human condition of the transformation of our lives from living selfishly and competitively to living selflessly and cooperatively that is going to eventually catch on as being the right response now for everyone and when it does, it will spread like wildfire across our planet, and save the world. And it is not a revolution that involves warfare and bloodshed like so many revolutions in the past, but a peaceful revolution that is driven by irrefutable knowledge/understanding. We humans are conscious beings and what consciousness needs is understanding, and now we have it. Ultimately, we humans respond to knowledge—anything less was bound to be ineffective. This is the real and lasting transformation that the human race has lived in hope, faith and trust would one day occur. It is the revolution of our minds.”

There is an archeological site in south-eastern Europe, circa 6000 BC which had no wars for about 2000 and lived in urban organization with developed agriculture. The name of the site is “Vincha” near Belgrade.
WTM Admin
The central tenet of Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition is that humans have a cooperative, loving instinctive heritage, not a brutish, savage and aggressive one, and that the source of our aggression is a psychosis that has been compounding ever since the instinct and intellect clashed. Therefore it follows that the further back in history we go, the less psychologically upset a race of people will be, and so the more cooperative and loving they will be – and we can see evidence of this in archaeological records, as well as existing ‘primitive’ races of people, such as in indigenous cultures. As Jeremy explains in his definitive book FREEDOM, since the development of agriculture some 11,000 years ago, which allowed people to settle and multiply and form towns and cities, this closer interaction amongst humans had the effect of rapidly escalating our psychologically upset angry and aggressive state. Cultures such as the Vinča existed at the very outset of this sedentary living, before anger and aggression has reached ‘warlike’ levels, and as you say, they were very peaceful. However, levels of upset could only ever go in one direction, compounding and becoming ever greater, until anger, aggression and war was the defining characteristic.

The seven deadly sins are all the manifestations of our selfish instincts. Our heritage as cavemen just doesn’t fit into the modern world.
WTM Admin
THE Interview reveals humans’ selfish and competitive behaviour is not a product of unchangeable savage animal instincts within us, but the result of a psychosis, caused by the clash between our instinct and intellect. We humans suffer from the conscious-mind-based, psychologically troubled human condition, not the genetic-opportunism-based, animal condition. With regard to the ‘seven deadly sins’, as Jeremy Griffith explains in his definitive book FREEDOM, “the so-called Seven Deadly Sins of the human condition, of lust, anger, pride, envy, covetousness, gluttony and sloth, are all just different manifestations of the three fundamental upsets of anger, egocentricity and alienation that unavoidably emerged when humans became fully conscious and had to set out in search of knowledge in the presence of unjustly condemning instincts.” Yes, as Jeremy says in Part 2 of THE Interview, we are born with loving instincts and the ‘savage instincts’ explanation was just a convenient excuse while we searched for the psychosis-addressing-and-solving real explanation of our divisive behaviour.

Interesting instinct vs intellect dilemma debate by venerate Prof Jeremy is indeed an eye-opener for modern world scientific and political community.
Robert O'Brien
I simply cannot agree. This provides no explanation about my understanding. What’s basically being said is that I would be this Adam. The only problem there is that I’ve never been restrained by what he wants to call instincts. His knowledge definitely provides some hope that if I were to present my findings that there may possibly be a solution to break people from what’s been taking place. It doesn’t provide me any benefit because of what’s already been done but it would help the world understand. What’s taking place simply cannot happen in a strictly biological existence. I need to be seen at a equal level and not tried to be forced to be below these doctors. I may not have the educational certificates but I’m definitely onto something people have overlooked.
Daryl Williams
I know so many people who resent the very idea that they have instincts so greatly that they deny they have them, and rationalize anything they do which might be driven by instincts by explaining them as something else. No-one will achieve any kind of self-understanding until they admit to that component of their subconscious mind. Present company included.
WTM Admin
Dear Robert, firstly, we are sorry for any delay in publishing your comment; we are only a small team with limited resources, and we do have to moderate a lot of comments. We certainly respect your right to an alternate view, however there is a lot to digest here and we suggest that this ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation really does get to the bottom of the human condition in all its different manifestations – we are all ‘Adam’ in that we are all psychologically upset, angry, egocentric and alienated because of the instinct vs intellect clash. However, most importantly, this understanding is redeeming of that condition, and allows us to understand that everyone is equally good. As Jeremy Griffith explains in Part 4 of THE Interview, “While we are all inevitably variously angry, egocentric and alienated from our different encounters with humanity’s heroic battle to find knowledge, ultimately self-knowledge, understanding of our corrupted condition, we can now know that every human is fundamentally good.” It is also worth adding the amazing words of Professor Prosen, a former President of the Canadian Psychiatric Association about how this understanding brings healing to all of us which is published in FAQ 1.34: “the beauty of Griffith’s treatise is that the healing starts at the macro level of the universal human condition; the healing of the shame and blame that the whole human race has suffered from…It brings the greater context and love to all human psychosis and suffering, and then, from under the umbrella of that safe position, everyone can gradually work inwards to their particular experience of all the imperfections in human life that have now, finally, been made sense of.”
Robert O'Brien
It doesn’t regarding certain factors. Simply overlooking this is a problem by itself. Without taking factors into consideration, the truth of the human condition will never be found. This isn’t even anger on my part anymore because I understand the cause of it. This is something we as a whole need to focus. Perhaps if it was understood to the extent I possess, we could find a way to make the change that is needed. People denying it is only allowing it to continue.

Watching this interview have giving me so much understanding of yearning to live from my instinct as opposed to having explain and defend the love and peace I live within my soul.
WTM Admin
Yes, we can all now reconcile our psychologically upset angry, egocentric and alienated selves with our all-loving, peaceful instinctive self or soul. The all-important journey to find knowledge has been a long and corrupting one, and during it we have ‘yearned’ for the peace of our soul, but we had to continue until we found the understanding that is presented here. As Jeremy so often quotes, the words from The Impossible Dream, so beautifully capture the heroisim of the human journey – we had “to march into hell for a heavenly cause”.
Virginia
Thank you for saving me from myself. This knowledge and understanding instantly relaxed my entire body. Life will never be the same for me. I’m exhilarated by the prospect of a loving and peaceful life ahead.
It may be hard for many to take this onboard. BUT if the world would only read, listen and understand what he is saying, once again the world could be at peace in Utopia!
WTM Admin
Absolutely Pam only solving the dilemma of human condition can bring back lasting peace to our world. We needed to explain why, when the ideals are to be loving and selfless, are we so competitive and selfish? and this is what biologist Jeremy Griffith has done by clarifying the difference between the way the intellect and instincts work. And by explaining the very good reason why our intellect had to defy our cooperative instincts, it makes redundant our defensive behaviours of anger, egocentricity and alienation, allowing us to legitimately return to the cooperative and loving state we once lived in. ‘Legitimately’ because at last we have the first principle-based science which liberates us to be honest about our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it.
Yes this can be initially hard for some to take onboard or access as the human condition is the most fearful of subjects because it’s the issue of whether we are fundamentally good or bad, so until we could solve it with compassionate understanding, many people understandably were ‘deaf’ to discussion of the subject. But the word is out and more and more people each day are becoming aware that at last this compassionate understanding has arrived and with people recognising the importance of it and supporting it, the infectious enthusiasm and selfless love it liberates will spread like wildfire. You can tune into this momentum on our homepage with the daily ecstatic responses THE Interview is receiving, the outstanding commendations from thought leaders, over 70 WTM Centres all around the world and all our WTM ‘Fix the World’ products or displays people are enjoying! Absolutely electrifying! The solution to our suffering is so simple! And yet it seems impossible that we can heal ourselves. The concept sounds like a miracle. The Revd Dr Alan C. CLIFFORD
My initial response: is your thesis atheistic, neo-Darwinist? You’ve concocted Adam the stalk. I assume you dismiss Adam of the Bible as an historical person? We are just ‘upset’ rather than ‘sinful’? My theological/philosophical training suggests you are advocating a new fantasy. Many more questions in due course.
WTM Admin
Thank you for your comment Rev Dr Clifford. Biologist Jeremy Griffith’s treatise is neither atheistic or Neo-Darwinism. Although this is science, it is based on a Godly nature in the sense of recognising, like all the great religions do, that we humans once lived in a pre-human-condition-afflicted state of original innocence where we were perfectly instinctively orientated to the cooperative, selfless, loving, ‘Godly’ ideals of life; ‘God’ being explained in as being the integrative meaning of life. So importantly Jeremy’s work doesn’t contradict a belief in God or Christianity, it simply brings biological understanding to all those pre-scientific concepts. In fact Jeremy has deep respect for people’s religious views and considers the Bible to be a repository of extremely rare denial-free truth, containing all the truth about human life albeit from a pre-science view. The difference being that we can now with the benefit of science, bring clarifying, first-principle biological explanation to our so-called ‘good and evil’-afflicted human condition and why we had to depart from our original innocence, whilst religion had to rely on metaphor and a more literal interpretation.
Jeremy does bring new insight to the story of Adam and Eve, simply represented in his Adam Stork analogy. He explains that while in the pre-scientific story Adam and Eve were portrayed as ‘bad’ or even ‘evil’ to take the fruit of knowledge, and treated as ‘sinful’, we can now understand that humans were ‘good’, even heroic, to search for knowledge, even though it caused us to become psychologically upset angry, egocentric and alienated sufferers of the human condition. As Jeremy says in Part 1 of THE Interview, “‘No, no, that story got it wrong’. Adam and Eve are actually not just good but the heroes of the whole story of life on Earth.” What science can now add to that pre-scientific description of the human condition is that our instincts in effect criticised the emerging conscious mind’s search for knowledge, but importantly, we can now understand that the conscious mind was right, or ‘good’ to defy our instinctive self in order to fulfil its great potential to manage life. While religious assurances, such as ‘God loves you’ in Christianity, provided comfort, they failed to explain WHY we are lovable, and it is that missing explanation that this biological breakthrough provides. This reconciliation of science and religion is not fantastical as the outstanding commendations (on our homepage) from scientists, thought leaders, theologians, including Templeton Prize winning biologist Professor Charles Birch, attest

Comments on THE Interview
Since THE Interview between Craig Conway and Jeremy Griffith first aired in 2020, tens of thousands of viewers have commented on it on HumanCondition.com — this is an archive of all those comments, including helpful responses from our team.
This is page 105 of 180 (pages run from the oldest comments to the latest).
The Comments below were made between April 8, 2024 and April 18, 2024.
For example, Jeremy writes in chapter 9:9, “Although this new world for humans, which the World Transformation Movement has been established to facilitate, will have a slow beginning because humans initially find it difficult even taking in or ‘hearing’ discussion about the human condition, once the WTM is discovered, word of it and what it offers every human and the world will spread like wildfire—as the exceptional denial-free thinking prophet Teilhard de Chardin wrote, ‘The Truth has to only appear once…for it to be impossible for anything ever to prevent it from spreading universally and setting everything ablaze’”.On this point, we recommend FAQ 1.40 which addresses the questions of ‘How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’A great read indeed. Lets make it happen for ourselves and the planet.
This is basically Johnathan Livingston seagull
Hallelujah !! this is an awsome concatenation of brilliant minds.
This is an important insight and the right direction towards building the right balance between human wants and desires and the subconscious behaviour. The search for human identity is not from instincts but the direct obedience to the consciousness. Accepting this thinking will help humans to come back from troubled consciousness and stop justifying our troubled condition.
Another Australian, a man with supreme knowledge and understanding of the human race from early beginnings and continuing through the lives of modern apes. The survival of the human race depends on his work and a thorough understanding is absolutely necessary for mankind’s future existence.
Makes sense to me…we’ve got a long way to go to make this common teaching and thought. We have to start somewhere…let’s get a moving before it’s too late

Great content for a better and safer world
I think this video is amazing
Thank you for this information. My granddaughter tried to end her life and I need more understanding of what’s going on with her! Thank you🌹
Thank you so much for your comment, Linda. We have now reached a point, where, to quote Jeremy from Part 2 of THE Interview: “While we’ve had to live in denial of our corrupted, psychologically upset condition while we couldn’t explain it, the truth is that on a graph showing the ever-increasing levels of upset in humans, those levels, especially of psychosis and alienation, have been increasing so rapidly lately that the line tracking their rise is near vertical with the amount of upset virtually doubling now in each new generation!”We recommend reading ‘Aspect 1’ of Jeremy Griffith’s booklet Our Meaning, which deals with ‘1. the psychologically paralysed state of the younger Millennial, Z and Alpha generations’ We would also recommend Freedom Essay 30 titled ‘Resignation’, in which Jeremy explains the terrible depression that adolescents go through when they confront the non-ideal state of the world, and also their own lack of ideality. We can at last understand the source of our upset and bring great compassion and kindness to ourselves and others and, most significantly, we don’t have to overly confront the upset within us — see FAQ 1.19 ‘A caution about the danger of over-exposure / Advice for people with mental health issues’.This is excellent work and I have learned a lot of lifelong lessons. Jeremy Griffith should be given a Nobel Laureate Prize
Very interesting, but don’t the bonobos or great apes, engage in male combat of some sort and have harems? I’ll look into the www for more info.
This is completely unlike common chimpanzees for example, who practice infanticide, form troups that will kill members of other groups, and males who kill other males, and use violence to coerce females into sex.The truth is that without the defence for our own angry, selfish behaviour, the nurturing, peaceful and gentle bonobos have been very confronting, and so ever since they were recognised as a species in 1929, people have had to find ways of undermining them, which they have done by saying they are actually violent, and, as explained in chapter 6 of Jeremy’s definitive book FREEDOM, that if they aren’t violent, then it has nothing to do with nurturing.Absolutely unbelievable I need to get the book freedom

I love this
Beautiful podcast.
Very interesting and inspiring at the same time. At years of age, my time is limited on this earth. So how does one become a disciple/follower of the truth?
Good, like to hear more.

Also our Facebook Group provides a wonderful platform for participating in, or just observing, interesting and exciting discussion with others about how we can live with this critical new science.
A great interview revealing how our conscience, mind works.
Love it 💕 ❤️ 💖

Love the message
Seems to good to be true. Where’s this been before. Enlightening.
I’m totally blown away. Speechless
Thank You, beautiful
The best
I thank you so much, the whole world of human beings should listen to this interview.
I am thoroughly enjoying listening to this interview and will follow up . Recommend it for anyone who is seeking answers and peace of mind (and who knows instinctively that everything is as it should be, and we are progressing as we must).
Im an Australia 🦘 woman how interesting I’m also Aboriginal and a director of one Mob as two others and a elder I’m so intrigued I would love one of these books.
Thanks very much for your comment Aunty Leana. What you discover is this explanation unravels the seemingly impenetrable and insoluble confusion of human life — including why the horror of racism has existed under the duress of the human condition and, most importantly, finally brings it to an end! It’s wonderful that you are so eager to read FREEDOM, which can be downloaded for free HERE on our homepage (along with Jeremy Griffith’s other key books).I would like to see more of this. I’m Thirsty.
It’s certainly been a long journey, for each of us individually, and as a species, ever since consciousness emerged and came into conflict with our dictatorial instincts. Finding this redeeming understanding is like finding an oasis in the middle of the desert. Go to our homepage David, and there is enough ‘human-condition-solved’ information, all beautifully laid out, to quench anyone’s thirst.
Today morning, I got very, very insightful knowledge from Jeremy about our human condition...Must listen and read his book about all humans...and ultimately change ourselves for the betterment of all...Looking forward to reading Jeremy’s book Freedom too.
Why the need to become political ? ”It was actually the right-wing who have supported the upsetting battle to find knowledge that held the moral highground, not the pseudo idealistic left-wing.” Not the statement of a transformed human: “ Now, most wonderfully of all, the instinct vs intellect explanation of the human condition not only exposes the culture of the Left for the human-race-destroying lie that it is, it also, as I said, brings to an end the whole upsetting search for the rehabilitating understanding of why we’re good and not bad, and what this means is that it’s no longer oppressive of that upsetting search to take up support of cooperative and loving idealism—because that search is over.” .
That’s amazing.
Is it possible that nurturing was also an original instinct and we have not given up on that instinct because it is a good instinct.? Only the instincts we allowed ourselves to defy are the instincts causing us problems. The instinct to nurture is what became morality.
Very informative n will share to all my family n friends. Much appreciated.
Facinating!
This is a helluva lot more sense than some Bible thrown at u, calling u evil. Why must ppl assume we competed? We NEEDED each other and if that wasn’t true, we would never have survived as a species bec we would have killed each other to extinction.
Yes, with our current angry, aggressive behaviour now defended, it is safe to admit that our species has a loving and cooperative past. Until now it was too confronting of our present state to admit it. While THE Interview summarises the science of the love-indoctrination process that gave rise to this edenic state, which can be seen in the bonobos, and was responsible for the establishment of humanity’s all-loving instinctive self or soul, the explanation of love-indoctrination is fully presented in chapter 5 of FREEDOM.With regard to the Bible and how it ‘put the fear of God’ into people, as is explained in FAQ 6.3, “With understanding of the human condition we can now appreciate that in order to encourage people to adhere to the integrative, ‘Godly’, cooperative ideals of life, religions sought to restrain ‘upset’ behaviour by making people fearful of behaving in an overly angry, egocentric and alienated way.” The FAQ then goes on to explain that, “Obviously what was desperately missing was the reconciling understanding of our upset behaviour and the Godly ideals; reconciling understanding of the human condition in fact—which is exactly what Jeremy Griffith presents us with. No wonder the reconciling understanding of the human condition has brought incredible relief to people who have spent a lifetime suffering from religious fire-and-brimstone teaching!”I’m looking forward to having such good information about this topic. I’m so interested if this is free.

So there is hope. We are in need. We have no future without change.
I am grateful
NEED TO SEE THIS INTERVIEW
I may be ignorant but how does this differ from ID and EGO?
What was also predicted was breakthroughs in understanding human sociology through the study of bonobo societies. Very satisfying to see these ideas come to enlightenment. I wish I could find that interview now. Thank You for the interview.
It is amazing
Wonderful dream today for better tomorrow, about the whole Humanity.
Very excited to listen to this video and read the book along with it to help understand and follow.
Very well said and presented what is hidden inside human beings. I really appreciate it.
Great insight
Just my point..Life is simple. We just chose to complicate our daily lives and depending on our situations and interactions with each other. We have just lost touch with each other especially as our.technological tools take over our lives, we are not even communicating on even morning greetings for example. We are in same room but so isolated no talks,no laughs. Just in our.own.world. We need to reconnect,we need to.find love love and be loved, stop the greed, selfish, lack of Emphathy, etc etc. We need to heal the world
Thanks for your thoughts Nicola.
Praise!
Profound.
You might find these links helpful: FAQ 1.14 ‘Why aren’t these ideas mainstream’.Having said that, as Jeremy explains in chapter 9.9 of his book FREEDOM: “Although this new world for humans, which the World Transformation Movement has been established to facilitate, will, as has been stated, have a slow beginning because humans initially find it difficult even taking in or ‘hearing’ discussion about the human condition, once the WTM is discovered, word of it and what it offers every human and the world will spread like wildfire.’” And so even though we haven’t yet reached the tipping point in terms of awareness of this great breakthrough, you can see from the excitement and relief in our ecstatic responses to THE Interview, we are well on our way! Interesting, thoughtful and full of creative insight into the very psyche of a person.
Pls protect sir Jeremy from our egocentric leaders who have never wanted humans to break out from the mental slavery.. we love you sir Jeremy
Almost common sense.
Great knowledge
So insightful and so interesting. I am surprised
So what you saying is, your sins are forgiven, go in peace
Brilliant
I hope it will reach many people. A must see.
Maybe!
For further reading, you might be interested in Freedom Essay 30: ‘Resignation’, the unacknowledged yet most important psychological event in human life.

We need it!
The seven deadly sins are all the manifestations of our selfish instincts. Our heritage as cavemen just doesn’t fit into the modern world.
Brilliant brilliant....
This is a refreshing starting point for all human race and indeed the absolute pathway to joy, Love and peace.
Interesting instinct vs intellect dilemma debate by venerate Prof Jeremy is indeed an eye-opener for modern world scientific and political community.
I know so many people who resent the very idea that they have instincts so greatly that they deny they have them, and rationalize anything they do which might be driven by instincts by explaining them as something else. No-one will achieve any kind of self-understanding until they admit to that component of their subconscious mind. Present company included.
Thank you so much!!! You are incredible for making this book and information free of cost. This is the most enlightening information I have ever come across. Thank you for explaining it and breaking it down so simply. Thank you. You have my utmost gratitude. 🙏😊

Thank you for saving me from myself. This knowledge and understanding instantly relaxed my entire body. Life will never be the same for me. I’m exhilarated by the prospect of a loving and peaceful life ahead.
Well explained
Magnificent 👌
Wooooow...so real...absolutely...amazing ...amazing education...thank u..
It may be hard for many to take this onboard. BUT if the world would only read, listen and understand what he is saying, once again the world could be at peace in Utopia!
‘Legitimately’ because at last we have the first principle-based science which liberates us to be honest about our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it.Yes this can be initially hard for some to take onboard or access as the human condition is the most fearful of subjects because it’s the issue of whether we are fundamentally good or bad, so until we could solve it with compassionate understanding, many people understandably were ‘deaf’ to discussion of the subject. This is really a breakthrough.
Absolutely electrifying! The solution to our suffering is so simple! And yet it seems impossible that we can heal ourselves. The concept sounds like a miracle. I listened to the interview enthralled and enlightened! Thank you! Will share with people who will understand and accept this seemingly difficult and yet simple solution.
This reconciliation of science and religion is not fantastical as the outstanding commendations (on our homepage) from scientists, thought leaders, theologians, including Templeton Prize winning biologist Professor Charles Birch, attestIn terms of your further questions our FAQs are an excellent resource and include references to where the subject is dealt with in greater depth.
