Whats the Human Condition you refering to all the time? Wodering what they compering refering to; “knows now what ”makes men tick"🤷🏻 Just want answer to this question 🥴 Thank You

WTM Admin

Thank you for your comment Mira. As Jeremy Griffith explains in FAQ 1.1 ‘What exactly is the human condition’ the human condition is actually a much, much deeper issue than what most people think: “As I explained in THE Interview and in all my other presentations, we humans once lived in a nurtured-with-unconditional-love, cooperative, selfless and loving innocent state, which the bonobo species of ape is presently on the threshold of achieving. If we stand back and think about this original cooperative, selfless and loving state and then think about how competitive, selfish and aggressive we humans are now, the contrast between the two states couldn’t be greater. And if we think about that extreme contrast and then think about the situation we have been stuck in for some 2 million years where we haven’t been able to explain our so-called ‘fall from grace’, the corruption of our original all-sensitive and all-loving, innocent instinctive self or soul, then how deeply traumatised with guilt and shame must we humans have been all that time! Certainly, we learnt to block the horror of this situation out of our mind, but that has been the underlying psychological predicament we humans have been enduring. So having had to live with this insufferable, unbearably depressing guilt and shame for having destroyed the magic world of our soul is what the human condition really is!”     With this biological explanation of the human condition we can at last understand what is driving our behaviour, or what makes us tick, is this deep insecurity and guilt we feel about having corrupted our soul. We can understand why men especially, but also women, suffer from the human condition and all its related behaviours including selfishness and egocentricity, but that all humans are equally good, worthwhile, meaningful and wonderful regardless of gender, age, religion, etc. At last we now have the desperately needed understanding that reconciles all the issues that impact our lives, be it men and women, politics, science and religion, and so on; see FAQ 1.6 ‘Why does understanding of the human condition solve everything?’

Finally another person whom understands what I’ve been seeing all my life... He explains it way better than I ever could... Just too bad those that won’t see what he’s explaining will call him a crack pot.. etc... I say let them travel that river, we can meet them at the end.

WTM Admin

Thank you for your comment Candice. Yes, the human condition has historically been an off-limits subject, and as a result people can find it difficult to take in or ‘hear’ discussion of it; others can even become hostile to opening the whole arena. You can read more about this in our Freedom Essay 56: Why there have been ferocious attacks on the WTM. But momentum is building; along with excited responses, our homepage shows the rapidly growing appreciation and support for the WTM with outstanding commendations from thought leaders and WTM Centres all over the world! Also, every day more people join our Facebook Group to share in this transforming knowledge so we hope you do too!

Black people have always been this way

WTM Admin

At last we can understand that there are more innocent or sheltered ‘races’ (ethnic groups), and there are races that have been more exposed to the battle than others. More sheltered races have more affinity with our instinctive soulful, cooperative way of living and nature, while those who have been in the battle longer are more psychologically embattled and thus egocentric and alienated. However, it needs to pointed out that even so-called ‘primitive’ races are still members of the extremely upset stage of humanity, H. sapiens sapiens, so they are still psychologically upset angry egocentric and alienated. Most significantly, despite the differing levels of upset due to everyone’s different encounters with humanity’s heroic battle to find knowledge, we are all equally good. You might like to read our FAQ 9.1 about how this puts an end to racism, and for a testimonial on the power of this knowledge to end racism, we recommend the presentations from Franklin Mukakanga and Refentse Molosiwa in Video/Freedom Essay 8.

You have taken your western ideological thinking to Australia a very rigid and slow timespce we do not all have the same mind set thankfully, ( No)

WTM Admin

There is no ‘ideology’ in what is presented; it is all simply rational, accountable, scientific explanation. What is more, we suggest that the more you digest this explanation of our condition, the more you will see that it actually encompasses what we presume you are referring to by ‘non-western’ ‘mind sets’, which is a more ‘spiritual’ dimension of life. We thought you might find our FAQs about religion of interest, in particular FAQ 6.7 ‘How can a scientific explanation ever hope to account for and encompass the great ‘spiritual’ dimension we know exists in life? / Isn’t ‘spirituality’ beyond a purely rational explanation?’

Peter Obafemi

Wow this interview is seriously impressive. So basically we don’t come from animals genetically which is known as the human condition. Thank you guys especially Mr. Jeremy Griffith!

WTM Admin

Just to clarify that Peter. Yes, as Jeremy Griffith explains in Part 1 of THE Interview, we can now understand that our angry, egocentric and alienated behaviour is not the result of ‘savage’ animal instincts within us, as is commonly argued, but rather is a psycholgoical condition resulting from a clash between our conscious mind and pre-established instincts. As Jeremy says, “Surely this idea that we have savage competitive and aggressive, must-reproduce-our-genes instincts cannot be the real reason for our species’ competitive and aggressive behaviour because, after all, words used to describe our human behaviour such as egocentric, arrogant, inspired, depressed, deluded, pessimistic, optimistic, artificial, hateful, cynical, mean, sadistic, immoral, brilliant, guilt-ridden, evil, psychotic, neurotic and alienated, all recognise the involvement of OUR species’ fully conscious thinking mind. They demonstrate that there is a psychological dimension to our behaviour; that we don’t suffer from a genetic-opportunism-driven ‘animal condition’, but a conscious-mind-based, psychologically troubled HUMAN CONDITION. What’s more, we humans have cooperative, selfless and loving moral instincts, the voice or expression of which we call our conscience—which is the complete opposite of competitive, selfish and aggressive instincts.”

It’s a breakthrough in my profession helping individual and families overcoming addiction

WTM Admin

Thanks Sharif. Yes, our human condition has caused all manner of horrific situations that humanity has so courageously endured, but the wonderful news is that we can now understand that our destructive behaviour (to others, and ourselves for example through harmful addictions) is the product of a psychosis, caused by the clash between our instinct and intellect, and a psychosis is changeable as it can be healed through understanding — a revelation that has the power to transform the individual and thus the human race. As biologist Jeremy Griffith says in THE Interview “with understanding we can finally end our psychologically troubled human condition. It’s the understanding of ourselves that we needed to heal the pain in our brains and become sound and sane again”. See WTM FAQ 1.6 ‘Why understanding the human condition solves everything’.

Rika de Clercq

Why do people become addicts?

WTM Admin

Hi Rika, Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition addresses the source of all humanity’s psychological upset and therefore the root cause of addiction. As Jeremy explains, all humans suffer from a universal psychosis caused by the clash between our instinct and intellect. This manifests in a multitude of different ways and symptoms, which is to be expected because everyone has had a different exposure to the human condition, but this understanding explains, in biological terms, the root cause of the psychosis of the human condition – our insecure, ‘upset’, embattled state of mind about whether we are fundamentally worthwhile or not. It explains that it is our response to, and compensation for, this underlying sense of insecurity that produces our anger, egocentricity and alienation that manifests as greed, selfishness, conflict, anxiety, depression, brutality, obesity, addiction etc. As Jeremy explains in Freedom Essay 55, without understanding, our species psychological upset has been increasing at an exponential rate, and that addiction generally is the result of a massive need to cope with and distract from this overwhelming internal psychological pain. To quote a section from this essay, “it is little wonder there is an epidemic of anxiety-driven, dissociative disorders like obsessive compulsive behaviour, ADHD and autism, and that there is unhappiness-driven excessive food consumption and resulting obesity, and a plague of other physical sicknesses like diabetes and hypertension, and rampant ‘I-can’t-take-it-anymore’ drug addiction.” Thankfully, with understanding of the human condition now available, explaining and healing our psychosis is at last possible and we can at last achieve fundamental change bringing peace and sanity back to our species. https://www.humancondition.com/freedom-essays/endgame-for-the-human-race/As distinguished psychiatrist Professor Harry Prosen explains in FAQ 1.34, “what Griffith is presenting is understanding of the source insecurity that the whole human race suffers from for having destroyed our species’ innocent soul. It is a universal self-blame that his understanding at last provides healing insight into. All human behavior is saturated with that universal insecure, depressing state and resulting anger, egocentricity and alienation that has developed from it, but we finally have the compassionate foundation insight needed to dismantle all that ‘upset’/psychosis. So the real psychotherapy of our collective and individual psychoses can begin…the beauty of Griffith’s treatise is that the healing starts at the macro level of the universal human condition; the healing of the shame and blame that the whole human race has suffered from, which is non-personal and thus more easily confronted, absorbed and accepted. It brings the greater context and love to all human psychosis and suffering, and then, from under the umbrella of that safe position, everyone can gradually work inwards to their particular experience of all the imperfections in human life that have now, finally, been made sense of.”     Being able to understand the human condition allows us to bring context and love to all human psychosis and suffering as is explained above, so this information is for everyone, although we do caution people in all our main publications about the unavoidably confronting nature of the subject of the human condition which is something everyone needs to be mindful of, but especially those who have or are suffering from mental disorders or illnesses because it can be destabilising and any information we do provide should not be used as, or as a substitute for, professional counselling, this is all summarised in FAQ 1:19, which we encourage people to read.

Makes the most sense. Incredible information that needs to be shared to EVERYONE.

Michael Thompson

Your theory on the relationship between the instinctual mind and the reasoning mind was very insightful. I’m wondering where the intuitive mind fits into this paradigm? Also, where does consciousness originate and is that the nature of self, or our mind? You mention our soul but don’t explain what it is and how it fits in. Am I sensing monothestic undertones? As a tool in psychotherapy I believe this could be very useful. As far as changing the rapacious construct of global corporate capitalism, good luck.

WTM Admin

Hi Michael, thanks for your questions. There is a lot to digest here, and we always recommend repeated viewings of THE Interview because it does represent such a huge paradigm shift. For example, with regard to consciousness, which is basically our conscious thinking self, in Part 3 of THE Interview Jeremy Griffith refers the viewer to chapter 7 of his definitive book FREEDOM which explains how and when consciousness emerged in humans.     With the explanation in Part 2 of THE Interview how we came to have an all-loving and all-sensitive instinctive self, we can now also understand that intuition is our conscious mind ‘listening’ or ‘tapping in’ to that instinctive self. Further, Part 2 explains that what we have historically called ‘soul’ is this all-loving instinctive self.     With regard to your question about ‘monotheistic undertones’, there is nothing religious here, it is all rational, fully accountable science. In Part 3 of THE Interview, Jeremy does mention that in chapter 4 of FREEDOM, he explains the Negative-Entropy-driven integrative meaning of existence which we have personified as ‘God’.     With regard to changing the “rapacious” construct of capitalism, as THE Interview explains, our greed and desire for materialism, upon which capitalism is built, are symptoms of our insecure human condition, so ultimately, to stop that endless pursuit we have to end that underlying insecurity, get to the core of the problem and fix that which is what Jeremy Griffith has done! You may also find our FAQ 1.40 helpful titled ‘Aren’t the problems of the world too overwhelming to ever be fixed? / Isn’t it too late to save the world? / How can you hope to transform the world? – In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful?’. It is explained there that even those who are most committed to seeking validation through gaining power and wealth, including those entrenched in positions of power, will quickly realise how empty and obsolete that strategy is now that we have the fully accountable, psychosis-addressing-and-solving, biological explanation of the human condition that establishes our worth at the most fundamental level.     We hope you can take the time to absorb all that Michael!

An eye opening interview that resonates a truth within. A must watch & enjoy...

Beverley Haynes

Everyone has a choice. We can choose either good or bad, wrong or right. What we feed our minds with influences our decision. The people who have taught us, were either steeped in truth or in error. We have to continue edifying ourselves intellectually, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

WTM Admin

What biologist Jeremy Griffith explains is that our selfish and destructive behaviour is not learned or a result of any conditioning but rather a result of a universal psychosis caused by the clash between our cooperative instincts and our intellect and significantly, a psychosis is changeable as it can be healed through understanding. Certainly, being born into a world that is already drenched with anger, egocentricity and alienation has a terrible effect on young people growing up, resulting in even higher levels of psychological ‘upset’, so it is a compounding situation, but ultimately we needed to confront and address the source of our ‘bad’ behaviour or ‘wrong’ choices. We needed the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals or morals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents. So, in a world fast going crazy from the effects of the human condition, this is the now desperately needed reconciling understanding that ends human suffering at its source, and unites the human race, see FAQ 1.5 ‘Why is understanding the human condition important to my life?’

Russ

The post cast was a real shocker. I am an engineer by education and a decisive, aggressive leader. I have been living by the original condition of survival by force. You presented a whole new idea, and it was very easy to understand. I going to be doing some rethinking on this subject. I looking at the website now. Russ

WTM Admin

Yes it is a shock Russ to be able to understand we aren’t driven by unchangeable savage animal instincts within us or “survival by force” and that our competitive and aggressive self is the result of a psychosis, caused by the clash between our instinct and intellect. In this interview Jeremy Griffith explains this key biological distinction that humans suffer from the conscious-mind-based, psychologically troubled human condition, not the genetic-opportunism-based, animal condition which makes you re-think everything about humans. Not only can we now understand that our original instinctive orientation is loving and cooperative, we can also understand that our selfish, aggressive, destructive behaviour was an unavoidable, indeed necessary, part of human life. As Jeremy explains while we humans couldn’t defend our upset corrupted state, we couldn’t afford to admit we were upset and we needed to come up with some excuse, like humans having ‘savage animal survival instincts’, in order to cope with the negative implications of our behaviour (see FAQ 1.2). And, significantly, a psychosis is changeable as it can be healed through understanding! So by explaining the very good reason why our intellect had to defy our instincts, it makes redundant our defensive behaviours of anger, egocentricity and alienation, allowing us to legitimately return to a loving state, see FAQ 1.40 ‘How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful?'

Gavin Crossan

All what he is explaining about human condition sounds like it’s all to do with capitalism.be a different ballgame if you took a Communist or socialist view.

WTM Admin

No this is not all to do with capitalism Gavin. However in explaining the human condition, biologist Jeremy Griffith brings compassionate and thus safe understanding to human behaviour, be it our individual lives, or politics, or religion or the relationship between men and women or different races etc. What you discover is this explanation unravels the seemingly impenetrable and insoluble confusion of human life and actually reconciles the polarities that currently exist including the divide between the left and right wing in politics. For instance Jeremy’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition allows us to understand the real merits and liabilities of both the left and right wing. His work certainly recognises the destructive brutality of the right-wing; indeed he brings understanding to the whole extremely destructive angry, egocentric and alienated human condition. He also recognises the failing of the Left, which is that its dogmatic insistence on cooperative, selfless and loving behaviour stifled and oppressed the freedom of expression and individualism needed to find knowledge, ultimately self-knowledge, the redeeming understanding of our seemingly destructive human condition that thankfully he has now found and presents in his book FREEDOM. Basically his work brings profound understanding to both sides, which ultimately brings to an end the whole ugly business of politics. This is fully explained in our FAQs about politics.

Tony Gomowad

The equal emphasis on the “biological based explanations” of human behavior adds very important perspectives on the “modern” social problems. This is a daring review of how humans had evolved as they relate to other humans, to the environment, and even gods of different religions/gods. Yes, it could offer pathways to healing among individuals, tribes, modern tribes and nations.

WTM Admin

Hi Tony, it’s wonderful to have your interest. At last we now have the completely redeeming, uplifting and healing biological understanding of the core mystery and problem about human behaviour of our so-called ‘good and evil’-stricken human condition—thus ending all the conflict and suffering in human life at its source, and providing the now urgently needed road map for the complete rehabilitation and transformation of our lives and world! We can understand ourselves now. As Jeremy Griffith writes in his book FREEDOM chapter 4: “Yes, the instinct vs intellect explanation of the human condition makes sense of and reconciles all the unresolved manifestations of the polarities of the human situation—‘good’ vs ‘evil’, idealism or ‘God’ vs human’s non-ideal existence, religion vs science, holism vs mechanism, altruism vs egotism, communism vs capitalism, conscience vs conscious, and so on—thus ameliorating or healing, and finally ending, the psychologically upset, divisive way we have been living!”

Lawrence Davis

In Africa historically story has been saying similar for centuries. Homer,Plato, and others got their knowledge from Northern Africa (Egypt).

WTM Admin

As discussed in this interview there have been many other thinkers throughout history who, like biologist Jeremy Griffith, have recognised that our divisive, competitive and aggressive human condition is a product of a clash between our instincts and intellect. However, what was missing from the analysis of all these other thinkers was the ability to explain WHY this conflict occurred. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents in THE Interview and his book FREEDOM. FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this idea original or new? / How does biologist Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition differ from other theories that recognise these elements?’ explains the unique significance of Jeremy’s work.

Have done it.

Its all about compassion and empathy,of small actions, day by day...!

WTM Admin

We suggest you need to look deeper Have done it because, as is explained in THE Interview, the essential question of our so-called ‘good and evil’-stricken human condition is paramount – and just trying to be compassionate and empathetic in small actions each day is not a solution. The issue of our apparently non-ideal human condition desperately needs to be confronted and answered – why can we be so unfeeling and apathetic – and this is what Jeremy Griffith has done and is what is unique about his work. He has answered the age-old question of why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish, so much so that we are destroying ourselves and our world. See FAQ 1.6 ‘Why understanding the human condition solves everything’.

Thomas Sutherland

I certainly would like to read all that has been written about the Human Condition.

We are a not-for-profit organisation and make all our material and publications free to read online, watch, listen to and even download and print!

Thomas Sutherland

Why has all the preachers not been able to explain the fall of Adam and Eve and forced them from the garden. The human race has been corrupt since the day

WTM Admin

Hi Thomas, while Christianity and other religions contain all manner of truths about human life, it is all from a pre-scientific view. Ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is what this critical new science presents which actually reconciles science and religion. As Jeremy explains in THE Interview, the story of Adam and Eve is a pre-scientific metaphor for the emergence of consciousness and its clash with our pre-established, cooperative loving instincts, resulting in humans becoming psychologically upset or ‘sinful’ or ‘evil’. However, significantly we can now understand, from scientific first principles, that ‘Adam and Eve’ were actually ‘good’ to search for knowledge, not bad or ‘evil’; we humans are actually the absolute heroes of the whole story! It establishes that we are good and not bad after all. What THE Interview presents fundamentally lifts the ‘burden of guilt’ from the human race for having become corrupt and allows us to forgive ourselves and others and finally end our psychologically troubled human condition! You might find our FAQs about religion helpful.

Ode Saromines

I’m so thrilled about the perspective of the author that emphasizes the dogmatic attributes of our genes or species. The psychological traits of human is the factor that can stream into dysphoria of a human behavior.

WTM Admin

It is immensely relieving to be able to understand the good reason that our intellect had to defy our loving but dogmatic instincts and in so doing we became psychologically upset so we understand why you are thrilled Ode! (This is further explained in FAQ 1.42 ‘If our instincts are loving and cooperative why would they criticise the conscious mind when it began experimenting with different behaviour?’.) Ultimately, only this defence of our ‘dark side’ and with that our ability to love it could bring compassion and happiness back to the world, because only now are all our defensive behaviours or traits (our anger, egocentricity and alienation) made redundant. We no longer need them because we have the real defense for why we had to defy our instincts, it couldn’t be a bigger breakthrough!

Mary Hawkins

I appreciate my significant other care enough to introduce your information in general of the human behavior and it is very interesting and I appreciate it !!

Zinzile Mtotywa

Great and intriguing discussion Craig. Many thanks to Jeremy Regards Zinzile

Barry Huxley

If you’ve ever looked into shadow work and tried to look within to understand yourself as well as others. This is for you. It makes a lot of sense to me, id advise that you work on your shadow first and learn about egocentrical achetypes. Its fascinating and scary. When you are aware of them, youll see them everywhere. When you recognise them everywhere, that includes in yourself. Its a rocky road from there but well worth it. This video helps further understand and pieces things together. The truth will set you free. Syncronicities are everywhere, keep an eye out and open your mind.

WTM Admin

Thank you for you comment Barry. What is presented here, with Jeremy Griffith’s redeeming ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition, is what – finally – gives us the ability to confront and understand our shadow or dark side. Psychoanalyst Carl Jung is renowned for emphasising the truth that ‘wholeness for humans depends on the ability to own our own shadow’ and that is exactly the breakthrough Jeremy’s work provides as it is the ultimate defence for our seemingly negative or ‘dark’ egocentric and competitive self. Not only can we now understand that our original instinctive orientation is loving and cooperative, we can also understand that our selfish, aggressive, destructive, even seemingly ‘evil’ behaviour was an unavoidable, indeed necessary, part of human life. This understanding defends our ‘shadow’ and explains that despite all appearances to the contrary, all humans are ‘good’. And by explaining the very good reason why our intellect had to defy our instincts, it makes redundant our defensive behaviours of anger, egocentricity and alienation, allowing us to return to the wholeness we crave! As Professor Harry Prosen, a former president of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, wrote in FAQ 1.34: “the beauty of Griffith’s treatise is that the healing starts at the macro level of the universal human condition; the healing of the shame and blame that the whole human race has suffered from… It brings the greater context and love to all human psychosis and suffering, and then, from under the umbrella of that safe position, everyone can gradually work inwards to their particular experience of all the imperfections in human life that have now, finally, been made sense of.” You may find FAQ 1.47 ‘How does Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition differ from the theories of Freud or Jung?’ of interest. Also importantly, this understanding of why we became upset does not condone or sanction our destructive behaviour, rather, through bringing understanding to it, it gives us the power to ameliorate and thus subside and ultimately eliminate it, see our FAQ 1.38 ‘Does this condone ‘evil’ behaviour?’

Zisan Anter

This you explain is division between instinct and intellect. Actually it is available for 100 years. I hope you achieve this endeavor to correct this unfortunate human condition

WTM Admin

Thank you for your interest Zisan. As is discussed in THE Interview there have been many other thinkers throughout history who, like biologist Jeremy Griffith, have recognised that our divisive, competitive and aggressive human condition is a product of a clash between our instincts and intellect. However, what was missing from the analysis of all these thinkers was the ability to explain WHY this conflict occurred. As Jeremy says in Part 2 of this interview “while all contemporary thinkers have had the benefit of science having revealed the difference between the gene-based and nerve-based learning systems, and have therefore had the means to truthfully explain the human condition, those who did recognise the basic instinct vs intellect elements didn’t take their thinking far enough to actually explain the human condition.” This what is unique about Jeremy’s synthesis. He actually solves the dilemma of human condition of ‘why, when our instincts are to be loving and selfless, are we so competitive and selfish?’ by clarifying the difference between the way the intellect and instincts work. He explains while gene-based naturally selected instincts give species orientations to the world, only the nerve-based conscious intellect can understand cause and effect and thus manage change; so when the fully conscious mind emerged and began managing change from a basis of understanding the instincts were in effect intolerant of such experiments, putting them at odds with the intellect. This understanding of WHY the conflict between our instincts and intellect occurred that Jeremy presents is all-important because it is only this clarifying, redeeming and reconciling explanation of the nature of the struggle between our instinctive self and conscious self that at last brings peace to our divided selves, and transforms the human race. This is further explained in FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this idea original or new? / How does biologist Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition differ from other theories that recognise these elements?’

Love it! Thank you

SETH PARAZA

Thrilled by the interview and enlightening discussions about the human condition, the scientific versus Biblical perspective.

WTM Admin

It is marvellous to have your interest Seth! The study of the human condition is the study of humans’ capacity for acts of both so-called ‘good and evil’—of why, when the ideals are to be cooperative loving and selfless are we capable of incredible aggression and selfishness. This realm of inquiry is where science and religion overlap, so naturally in explaining the human condition religion is explained and demystified by bringing biological understanding to pre-scientific concepts. For instance Jeremy Griffith explains in this interview Adam and Eve is a pre-scientific metaphor for the emergence of consciousness and its clash with our pre-established, cooperative loving instincts, resulting in humans becoming psychologically upset or ‘sinful’ or ‘evil’. As you may be sensing Jeremy’s work represents a reconciliation of science and religion, see FAQ 1.15 ‘If this is a biological explanation why are there religious references?’

We long for some answers, here are a few to consider. Pause, take your time.

Brigitte

A way out of the omnipresent threat of wars and hostility aroused by a few psychopaths and how we can avoid their manipulations

WTM Admin

Yes Brigitte having the human condition solved will stop the threat of war and hostility in our world. This is what is so extraordinary about Jeremy Griffith’s biological treatise — it actually defends the conscious mind for becoming so war-like. That is the great paradox of the human condition – we humans had to defy our all-loving instincts and become corrupted in self in order to find understanding of the human condition. But now that we can explain and understand this conflict and the guilt it produced, all those insecure, defensive behaviours are obsoleted, brought to an end, and we free ourselves from the human condition. This is further explained in Freedom Essay 'Can human conflict ever be brought to an end?'.     Also it is important to clarify given humans are born with loving moral instincts we all now variously suffer from this psychosis due to the human condition and, in the extreme, that psychologically conflicted upset state produces extremely destructive and manipulative behaviour, or what has historically been called ‘evil’. Of course this breakthrough explanation doesn’t condone or sanction the horrendous atrocities humans can commit rather, through bringing compassionate understanding to the source of humans’ upset behaviour, it gives us the power to ameliorate and thus subside and ultimately eliminate it, see FAQ 1.38 ‘Aren’t some people just born psychopathic, or even ‘evil’? / How does this explanation rehabilitate people capable of ‘evil’ behaviour? / Does this condone ‘evil’ behaviour?’. Also you may fine FAQ 1.40 ‘How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’ very helpful.

I JUST APPRECIATE FOR THIS KNOWLEDGE YOU SHARED TO US. THANKS

Louise Richard

Does that mean the end of supremacists, colonialism, genocides, imperialism and their armies, deap states, etc. ?

WTM Admin

The short answer is ‘yes’. The intellect vs intellect explanation addresses and solves the core insecurity about our self-worth that has been driving all the anger, egocentricity and alienation in the world, and of course, all the manifestations of that. However, we do need to address your inference that the problem stems from ‘supremacists, colonialism…imperialism’ etc, i.e. that it is a European problem. What is explained in THE Interview is that the longer an individual human, or even a ‘race’ (ethnic group) of humans, was exposed to the great battle that humanity has been heroically waging against ignorance, the more they would suffer from the upset state of the angry, egocentric and alienated human condition. While it is true that some European ‘races’ have been more exposed to the battle than some other ‘races’, it is not correct to say that the human condition is a European condition – all humans are now part of the extremely upset stage of humanity, H. sapiens sapiens, and are, therefore, nowhere near as innocent as humans were some 2 million years ago when the battle of the human condition first emerged. Also, most significantly, despite the differing levels of upset due to everyone’s different encounters with humanity’s heroic battle to find knowledge, we are all equally good. You might like to read our FAQ 9.1 about how this understanding puts an end to racism and for a testimonial on the power of this knowledge to end racism, we recommend the presentations from Franklin Mukakanga, of Zambia, and Refentse Molosiwa, of South Africa, in Video/Freedom Essay 8.     Finally, in Addendum 2 of his book Death by Dogma, Jeremy explains why the Judeo-Christian Western culture, like the right-wing in politics, has been one of the main targets for rejection by the pseudo idealistic, politically correct, ‘woke’, identity politics, cancel culture movement — but that it has finally delivered the explanation of the human condition that the whole world has been so desperately waiting for.

Barbara J Guillette

It’s BS, because our instincts are a good thing, they have saved our lives many times. I think your theory is to vague and untrue I’d rather trust my instincts than your theory.our conscious mind can be evil as well. Both parts of our mind work together

Nev connor

Very interested, life is very complicated.

WTM Admin

It certainly seems complicated, but with the human condition now solved, we can see that the whole, seemingly impenetrable mess has all stemmed from the Instinct vs Intellect clash! We now have the ability, for the first time, to understand every aspect of human behaviour, and the wonderful thing is that our behaviour will change naturally as a result. At last we can understand we have been driven by a deep insecurity about our fundamental goodness or worth and so now that our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living. ‘Legitimately’ because at last we have the first principle-based science which liberates us to be honest about our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it.

Esther

I’m enjoying listening to you guys, what a wonderful interview and revelation of Human Condition. Wow.

Very Interesting. I will see more.

Dawn Dawson

Basic human condition is cooperative not competitive! Hope for our future with strategies to help make it happen. This needs to be shared with the world.

WTM Admin

Thanks Dawn. Just to clarify for readers: what is being presented here isn’t a “strategy” as such, it is a fundamental understanding of why we humans haven’t been cooperative! Ultimately, to change our condition we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents in THE Interview and his book FREEDOM. To put it another way, it was only through finding the good reason that we had to defy our cooperative and loving instinctive self or soul, that all our defensive, ‘bad’ behaviours – our ego, selfishness and aggression, could be made redundant, and the defiance and oppression of our instinctive soul could end. There couldn’t be a bigger breakthrough.

Xolani

Sir what you are doing for humanity, is the way things must be… Helping those in need true values n benefits of making a Mark so Humanity can enjoy life n Peace of Mind under our true Nature 🙏

Liz Balfour

Aggressive, violent, dangerous times ? Let’s be clear we are talking about men here. It’s called TESTOSTERONE. It’s always been like this. Now how about explaining the female human condition, good luck with that.

WTM Admin

As is explained in THE Interview, the reason that men are currently selfish and aggressive is not selfish instincts or “testosterone”, but a state of psychological upset resulting from the clash between our instinct and intellect. Also, the female perspective is certainly not missing from Jeremy Griffith’s treatise and both the male and female contribution to the human journey are fully explained and equally acknowledged. In fact matriarchy is finally given the recognition and honour it deserves with Jeremy’s explanation of how it was women’s maternal love that gave us our moral soul and created humanity no less! Jeremy discusses this love-indoctrination process in THE Interview and refers the audience to his Freedom Essay 21 and chapter 5 of his definitive book FREEDOM which explain it more fully (also summarised in FAQ 5.2 ‘How did we acquire our moral soul?’). Astonishingly with Jeremy’s biological explanation of the human condition we can at last understand and reconcile the huge gulf that has existed between men and women. We can also understand why men especially, but also women, suffer from the human condition and all it’s related behaviours including selfishness and egocentricity, but that ALL HUMANS ARE EQUALLY GOOD and equally heroic! See molecular biologist Dr Anna Fitzgerald’s video commendation about how this explanation is the real liberation of women and our FAQ 8.1 ‘How does this reconcile men and women’.

Michael Marshall

Brilliant! Explained so I can understand.🤯Will watch again before watching the next 3 video’s.

Iolani Vasquez

This is so simple. So obvious. So easy to explain and understand. It comes down to plain ole common sense, really. I’m so thrilled that you actually slowed down and looked at the root cause. The majority are to busy overthinking and keeping their lives so hectic theyre stressed out. There’s no “Me Time” taken to breath and be Present. That God that you did! Many blessings to you and yours

WTM Admin

Yes Iolani being able to explain the human condition unravels and makes sense of the whole seemingly impenetrable and insoluble confusion of human life—and does so in such a simple way—it does appear “so obvious”! To get to the bottom of our human condition, “look at the root cause” as you say, we needed science to explain the essential question of why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish? As biologist Jeremy Griffith explains in THE Interview, without having the answer we’ve had no choice but to avoid the issue of the human condition by constantly seeking distraction and keeping busy was one way we did that. Thankfully now this question has been answered we now longer have to deny the issue. We can understand the dark side of ourselves—why we departed from our all-loving instincts and became selfish—so can we free ourselves from the human condition and we can “breath and be present” once more. As Jeremy says in Part 1 of THE Interview “with understanding we can finally end our psychologically troubled human condition. It’s the understanding of ourselves that we needed to heal the pain in our brains and become sound and sane again”!

Just make this podcast into a booklet and provide to the needed.

Rogelio Manlangit

I ignored this video for so many times, but it always flash in my account. I notice WTM interesting, so I watched the short video. Thank you for caring to our world.

Marilyn Amos

Could it really turn around in such a short period. We have statistically more Egocentric people in the world than any other time in history. The children I have met all are. I am racking my brains to think of a genuine human I know that is like the humans you hope will fill our world. I hope the world you see comes to fruition .

WTM Admin

Hi Marilyn and thank you for your comment. As Jeremy Griffith explains in THE Interview the world is facing the terrifying end play threat of terminal levels of psychosis or psychological upset (anger, egocentricity and alienation) and he includes a graph towards the end of Part 2 that charts the progression of upset from no psychosis to ‘terminal levels of psychosis’. Jeremy explains: “While we’ve had to live in denial of our corrupted, psychologically upset condition while we couldn’t explain it, the truth is that on a graph showing the ever-increasing levels of upset in humans, those levels, especially of psychosis and alienation, have been increasing so rapidly lately that the line tracking their rise is near vertical with the amount of upset virtually doubling now in each new generation!”. However having the human condition solved can turn things around very quickly. As with any new scientific breakthrough in history it will take time to gain mainstream acceptance, and from there break through the bastions of power in the world. However, once this information gets a foothold through enough people developing a deep appreciation and desire to support it, the selfless love and energy that will generate will solve our problems very quickly because, as Jeremy also explains in this interview, instead of being selfishly preoccupied with power, fame, fortune and glory, all our energies will be freed to truly work together and focus on doing whatever it takes to end the suffering in all the corners of the world. To quote Jeremy again, this time from Part 4: "the good news, and this is very important, is that while it will take a number of generations to heal all the upset in us humans, everyone can immediately live free of their upset… In fact, to continue using the old artificial defences of retaliation, denial and the search for relieving power, fame, fortune and glory when our fundamental goodness has been established is not only clearly pointless but also unnecessarily destructive of ourselves, everyone around us and our planet. That way of living is now completely obsoleted, finished with.” Also Marilyn we encourage you to read our FAQ 1.40 as it answers the questions ‘Aren’t the problems of the world too overwhelming to ever be fixed? / Isn’t it too late to save the world? / How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’

AWESOME

Diane Gray

Very insightful. We need more answers for the human condition. A polarized world that we live in needs healing to a cooperative state.

WTM Admin

Yes Diane our polarised world certainly needs healing and as Part 2 of THE Interview stresses, being at last able to explain the human condition actually reconciles all the polarities of human life. To quote Jeremy Griffith’s book FREEDOM chapter 4: “Yes, the instinct vs intellect explanation of the human condition makes sense of and reconciles all the unresolved manifestations of the polarities of the human situation—‘good’ vs ‘evil’, idealism or ‘God’ vs human’s non-ideal existence, religion vs science, holism vs mechanism, altruism vs egotism, communism vs capitalism, conscience vs conscious, and so on—thus ameliorating or healing, and finally ending, the psychologically upset, divisive way we have been living!”

Susan Skowron

Late anthropologist Stanley Diamond wrote a collection of essays found in a now out of print book “In Search for the Primitive” which in my opinion supports what is being put forth here.

WTM Admin

Thank you for your comment Susan. The central argument of Stanley Diamond’s In Search of the Primitive: A Critique of Civilization is that so-called “primitive” societies should not be seen as inferior or less evolved than modern “civilized” societies, but rather as fundamentally different and, in many respects, more authentically human. Primitive societies are characterized by integration, wholeness, and a direct connection to nature, community, and self, whereas modern civilization is marked by alienation, hierarchy, exploitation, and fragmentation. Diamond suggests that civilization’s departure from these more organic forms of life has led to widespread psychological and social pathology. Ultimately, he presents primitive societies as offering insights into more genuine modes of human existence that modern societies have largely lost. What is unique about Jeremy Griffith’s work is that he has answered the essential question of why that wholeness and connection to nature has been lost. Our endeavours in anthropology, biology, psychology and philosopy have failed, until now, to provide a truthful, real, fully accountable, genuinely clarifying explanation. It is this question of questions that Jeremy has solved with his instinct vs intellect explanation, as presented in THE Interview. We now have the completely redeeming, uplifting and healing biological understanding of the core mystery and problem about human behaviour of our ‘corrupted’ human condition. This understanding actually defends our angry, egocentric and alienated state, and explains that despite all appearances to the contrary, all humans are ‘good’. And by explaining the very good reason why our intellect had to defy our instincts, it makes redundant our defensive behaviours of anger, egocentricity and alienation, allowing us to return to the ‘genuine’ modes of human existence that have been lost – but not through ‘going backwards’, but going forward, with full understanding. The significance of the explanation of the human condition takes some time to absorb, but the more you do absorb it, the more you realise just how all-clarifying, all-reconciling and all-liberating it is.

Ravinder Gujral

Interesting, thought-provoking.

Jill Scheffer

This seems to be geared towards men...as women are not known in the bio world as having Savage instincts

WTM Admin

Thanks for your comment Jill. The term ‘savage instincts’ is a colloquial phrase that refers to the biological need to reproduce our genes, which we think you will agree, is also applied to womens' behaviour. So, THE Interview is about both men and women. It explains the universal psychosis all humans suffer from caused by the clash between our instinct and intellect, which significantly can be healed through understanding. What is astonishing is that despite our psychologically upset condition this biological treatise establishes all humans are equally good, worthwhile, meaningful and wonderful regardless of gender, age, religion, etc. See our Freedom Essay 9 which features biologist Dr Anna Fitzgerald’s video about how this explanation is the real liberation of women.

Tony Huxham

Can’t wait to save the world

WTM Admin

Yes Tony, it is astonishing to finally have the human condition solved and be able to legitimately end all the suffering and madness. To do this science had to answer the the crux question of why when the universal ideals are to be loving and selfless are we so competitive and selfish? This is what Jeremy Griffith has answered with his ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation and why it is heralded as the biological breakthrough that can save the world (see FAQ 6.5 which explains the critical difference between Jeremy’s work and the New Age Movement).

Timothy Klaker

I really find it very interesting, but why are all different religions thinking they’re reality is the only truth. We should all work and pray In large groups same time no matter where you are In the world.

WTM Admin

We can now understand that while the corrupting search for liberating knowledge was underway religion played a significant role as both the custodian of the ideal state and as a means of solace for those exhausted by the corrupting journey. However, it follows that with the redeeming biological understanding of why we had to depart from our original innocence now found, those metaphysical, faith-based accounts that looked after us are now redundant. In fact, what people discover is Jeremy Griffith’s work actually reconciles science and religion by bringing biological understanding to pre-scientific concepts. In fact, it presents the fulfilment of a time that all religions looked forward to when we could actually explain ourselves, see FAQ 6.3 ‘Does this undermine religion/God’. The other aspect of your question deals with people’s egocentric attachment to ideas. We suggest that as you digest this understanding you will see that everyone, no matter how attached to an idea they may be, will come to see that his rational explanation of the human condition answers all questions for everyone no matter who they are.
