This knowledge presents a huge paradigm shift in our thinking but as THE Interview explains freedom of thought and individualism, sustained by the incentives of materialism and capitalism which right-wing constitutions uphold, are what maintained humanity’s heroic search for knowledge, ultimately for self-knowledge. We thought you would find psychiatrist Professor Harry Prosen’s response to the question ‘How does understanding the human race’s condition help with an individual’s depression and psychosis? helpful, see FAQ 1.34 and also FAQ 1.35 ‘Does this heal anxiety?’ Significantly with this explanation of our condition we no longer have to be burdened by the fundamental question of whether we are good or bad because our core goodness as individuals and as a species has been biologically established. We can understand humans’ psychological upset was the price humans had to pay for searching for knowledge and that the human story presents the greatest, most heroic story ever told. So we can bring great compassion and kindness to ourselves and others and we don’t have to overly confront the upset within us (as FAQ 1.19 summarises).

As THE Interview explains all humans are born with loving moral instincts but we all now variously suffer from a psychosis due to the human condition and, in the extreme, that psychologically conflicted upset state produces extremely destructive behaviour.     It is true under the burden of the human condition humans have created greatness, in many forms, but it is imperative we cure the human condition as it is the source of all the unthinkable suffering and devastation humans have caused each other (and as explained in this reply, that does not end human creativity, but ushers in a new era of sensitivity where we are no longer preoccupied with proving our self-worth). And amazingly, at last with this understanding, which Jeremy Griffith has synthesised from the great scientific breakthroughs you speak of, we can!     It is excellent you are going to listen to THE Interview as in it Jeremy explains until we could understand our human condition—that is, understand why we humans are competitive, aggressive and selfish when our instincts are actually to be cooperative, loving and selfless—all we sensibly could do was practice almost total denial of it. Jeremy’s astonishing Freedom Essay 44 titled ‘Art makes the invisible visible’ explains that great art, in its various forms, was a way that humans could break that denial and be honest about the human condition, be it the great beauty of the world of our blocked out all-sensitive soul or shocking and affronting works about the immense upset and devastation in humans. Now that the human condition is solved humans can actually confront and be honest about it without the need to be safely shown it through great works of art. (Also see F. Essays 42 and 43 about the meaning of art and culture.)     Having the human condition solved certainly doesn’t mean our creativity will cease as it will always be a significant part of human expression and once we have mainstream support for this information the importance of our soul and all its sensitivity and creativity will be embraced and nurtured like we have never seen before. As Jeremy talks about in his interview with Australian broadcaster Caroline Jones: “All our upsets can subside and then we will become sensitive, incredibly aware. There’s a world out there of so much beauty that we can now tap that we’ve never been able to tap, and occasionally a great artist might just make some, cut a little window into that magic world through which we could all get a little access to the paradise. But there’s a world where one minute of the future, the beauty encapsulated in that would be more than all the beauty we can accumulate in a whole lifetime. No Ibina this is all about ending human domination in all its forms. This new knowledge produces a huge paradigm shift in our thinking, which takes time to digest, but astonishingly Jeremy Griffith’s biological treatise explains that men in particular have had to carry the burden of searching for knowledge and becoming corrupted and egocentric as a result, but that ALL HUMANS ARE EQUALLY GOOD and equally heroic! We no longer have to just believe men and women are equal we can understand they are! To quote molecular biologist Dr Anna Fitzgerald from her commendation of Jeremy’s work: “because Griffith’s work establishes the equal worth or goodness of all humans we can now understand the different roles that men and women have traditionally played in the human journey and this is actually the unlocking point, this is what brings about deep empathy for each other, it heals the divide”, see Freedom Essay 9. And, as Jeremy says in concluding chapter 8:11B of his book FREEDOM, “With understanding of the human condition now found, men and women can at last stand side by side—the ‘war of the sexes’ can finally be resolved. Yes, the human journey can have the happy ending we always hoped it would.”

Thank you for your comment Ram. There is a lot to absorb, even in this summary presentation, but with time we suggest people come to see just how all-encompassing Jeremy Griffith’s work is. Because the human condition comes down to human biology it is ultimately a question for biologists to answer. However philosophers and also religion have grappled with this most profound of questions of whether we are intrinsically good or bad, and one of the remarkable things about Jeremy’s definitive book FREEDOM is just what an extraordinary collection of profound thought from all ages and fields of endeavour it contains. But it goes the other way too; because not only is philosophy and religion used to evidence the truth about our human condition, the biological explanation of the human condition allows us to fully understand so much of the profundity in non-scientific thought that we previously could only intuitively recognise. Again though, as Jeremy stresses in Part 2 of THE Interview, finding the answer to the human condition, which is the only thing that can allow us to really change our behaviour, ultimately depended on being able to explain our biology: “while it has been recognised—even from ancient times—that the emergence of our conscious mind somehow caused us to ‘fall from grace’, or however you want to describe the corruption of our original innocent cooperative, selfless and loving instinctive state, it wasn’t until science revealed the difference between the gene-based and nerve-based learning systems—which is that genes can orientate but nerves need to understand—that we were finally in a position to explain the good reason for our angry, egocentric and alienated human condition.” In terms of religion, it finally becomes possible to explain and demystify all mythology, including the Biblical stories, and to also fully understand the prophets in the Bible and the very important contribution they have made to humanity’s journey (see our FAQs about religion).

Certainly Jeremy Griffith’s work explains that the search for knowledge has been necessary, even heroic, but ultimately Jeremy’s work reconciles science and religion by bringing biological understanding to pre-scientific concepts. In fact Jeremy considers the Bible to be a repository of extremely rare denial-free truth, containing all the truth about human life albeit from a pre-science view. You might find FAQ 6.3 ‘Does this undermine religion/God’ and FAQ 6.2 ‘What is God’ helpful. Also Jeremy’s Freedom Essays 38 – 41, which decipher religion, are absolutely fascinating.

To assist with understanding this analysis of the left-wing, we suggest looking at Jeremy’s short booklet Death by Dogma because it sets out clearly the biological reason for why the Left is leading us to extinction. It summarises the whole history of pseudo idealism going back to when the upset state of the human condition first emerged some 2 million years ago. In it Jeremy emphasises that while it is easy to identify with the ideal of everyone being cooperative and loving, the whole objective of the human journey was, as mentioned, to find understanding of why humans have not been cooperative and loving and instead so divisively competitive and aggressive. That is the great riddle of the human condition that had to be explained, and what is finally revealed with Jeremy’s biological explanation is that there has been an all-important, good reason for that divisive behaviour. It’s always been easy to side with idealism and denigrate realism, but now at last we can understand the real world humans have been living in where we have had to be competitive, aggressive and selfish, and, most wonderfully of all, by revealing that reason, ending the need for that divisive behaviour.

The world certainly is in a terrifying endgame situation but astonishingly understanding the human condition addresses the source of the destruction so it can retrieve the situation and save the world. Jeremy Griffith grew up in the incredible innocence, excitement and idealism of the post-war 1960s, and it certainly played some part in allowing him to retain his soundness of self, but his work is not an idealistic plea for the world to just be ideal. Rather it is a first-principle biological explanation of our ‘good and evil’ stricken human condition and answers the age-old question of why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. It is only with the intellect defended for why it had to defy our ‘idealistic’ instincts and become ‘realistic’, that the cooperative world (that the 60s generation tried to uphold) becomes possible, or even legitimate. In fact, we can now see that while the critical search for knowledge was ongoing realism was actually more ideal than idealism (see FAQ 7.2).
