So grateful for the info

Knowledge is power this is what we need to know as humans

Zabih. Vojdani

I need to study more in order to follow the concept of this revolutionary facts. I would benefit more if the interview would have been performed in a nonchalant maner.

philip gannon

This is extremely interesting and informative which helps to explain the human condition and has big implications for us moving forward it gives me a great sense of optimism for us all.

C. Scott

This revelation you speak about sounds very much to me like the teachings of Jesus. Is this where your science has taken you, to proving the word of God to be an undeniable truth? I concur with your scientific findings because if everyone actually lived their lives in truth, clarity and compassion we’d all be better off physically, mentally, emotionally, and most of all spiritually. Also, I agree that this new age progressive ideology has fundamentally set scociety back tremendously in a negative way. It’s lacking authenticity. It’s creating an extremely damaging cognitive dissonance of self. It fosters fear & self loathing. It has created so many problems. Thank you for bringing this message to light & articulating it so well… Bless you!!!

WTM Admin

Yes, Jeremy Griffith’s work doesn’t contradict a belief in Christianity or the teachings of Christ. It simply brings biological understanding to all those pre-scientific concepts. In fact Jeremy considers the Bible to be a repository of extremely rare denial-free truth, containing all the truth about human life albeit from a pre-science view. Although this is science, it is based on a Godly nature in the sense of recognising, like all the great religions do, that we humans once lived in a pre-human-condition-afflicted state of original innocence where we were perfectly instinctively orientated to the cooperative, selfless, loving, ‘Godly’ ideals of life; ‘God’ being explained in as being the integrative meaning of life. We suggest that the more you digest this explanation, the more you will see that it does not rob life or explanations of life of its ‘spiritual’ dimension. We thought you might find our FAQs about religion of interest, in particular FAQ 6.7 ‘How can a scientific explanation ever hope to account for and encompass the great ‘spiritual’ dimension we know exists in life? / Isn’t ‘spirituality’ beyond a purely rational explanation?’

Amanda Spiva

I’m so interested.

Philippa Rees

A very important, and simply expressed vision. I cannot help mentioning that the faux idealism of the left ( in which redemption from the underlying condition is by appearances of conscience without compassion) has been deliberately sustained by those who seek to amplify the ‘upset’. If Darwin was able to recognise Fiske, and Laurens van der Post and Koestler ( and many others) including those studying Bonobos, could see this truth then the evil that remains is one of vested interest, not merely indoctrination. Although mankind will welcome this understanding, I am not sure that the vested interests will!

Kofi W D Nappier

Deep, interesting and very profound. A relief to mankind

WTM Admin

Thank you for your astute comment Philippa. All we would add is that, to some extent, the understanding of the human condition is going to come as a shock to almost everyone because opening the blinds uncovers so much truth that we have all lived in denial of – see for example our FAQ 1.39 about how we cope with all the heresies that this brings to light. Pointing out to people with a vested interest in ‘pseudo-idealism’ that pseudo idealism has been regressive, not progressive as it claimed it was, is just one more heresy to deal with is (you might be interested in Jeremy' book Death by Dogma about the danger posed by the left-wing). As for those with a vested interest in maintaining power for its own sake, well, in time they too will welcome this redeeming understanding, because ultimately it liberates us from the insecurity behind our need for reinforcement. On the subject of those addicted to power, we recommend our FAQ 1.40 Aren’t the problems of the world too overwhelming to ever be fixed? / Isn’t it too late to save the world? / How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?

David keevi

Brilliant

Ross Brown

After watching the interview I have an understanding the of “the human condition”. What I don’t understand is how this understanding, even if held by a large number of people, can disarm, dispossess and depose the global “military industrial congressional complex” which is destroying our fragile world for wealth and power. Please explain Jeremy, how a relatively small percentage of the worlds population with an understanding of the human condition, can stop the sociopathic megalomaniac billionaires who control big industry and exert huge corrupting influence on governments.

WTM Admin

Ross, Jeremy Griffith’s work is about confronting and solving the human condition, and given our historic way of coping with the human condition has been to avoid it at all costs, this REAL path to our species’ returning to our natural loving way of living is a tough one to initiate. However humanity’s uptake of the explanation of the human condition has a fast finish, because, as he explains in chapter 9 of his definitive book FREEDOM, once people start having the legitimate ‘change of heart’ that this information allows, the selflessness that it liberates will not only quickly solve all the problems on the planet, but the excitement and joy it brings means everyone will want to get on board as quickly as they can! For example, Jeremy writes in chapter 9:9, “Although this new world for humans, which the World Transformation Movement has been established to facilitate, will have a slow beginning because humans initially find it difficult even taking in or ‘hearing’ discussion about the human condition, once the WTM is discovered, word of it and what it offers every human and the world will spread like wildfire—as the exceptional denial-free thinking prophet Teilhard de Chardin wrote, ‘The Truth has to only appear once…for it to be impossible for anything ever to prevent it from spreading universally and setting everything ablaze’”.

On this point, we recommend FAQ 1.40 which addresses the questions of ‘How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’

Wilbur Witt

Very enlightening! Please don’t be just another organization bent on selling something. That, in itself exhibits the flawed human condition. I will explore your concepts.

Graeme Morton

Sounds like Christianity

WTM Admin

Hi Graeme, while Christianity and other religions do contain all manner of extraordinarily profound truth about human life, it is from a pre-scientific view. Ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy Griffith presents in THE Interview and his book FREEDOM. What Jeremy is putting forward is that for there to be a fundamental change in our human situation we had to understand the human condition – humans’ capacity for good and evil – from a biological perspective. You might find our FAQs about religion helpful. Also Jeremy’s Freedom Essays 38 – 41, which decipher religion, are absolutely fascinating.

Rodney Bailey

I believed that in my heart and try to live that in my actions

Td

You’re going to have to make you’re theory a lot easier to understand for the average person in order to create a ‘Paradigm shift’

WTM Admin

As THE Interview explains, the human condition is the most fearful of subjects because it’s the issue of whether we are fundamentally good or bad and our fear of this interface can make it hard to understand all that is explained in one viewing. Our FAQ 1.16 explains what is needed to overcome this initial ‘deaf effect’ isn’t a more simplified version but rather a preparedness to re-read and/or re-listen to what is being written or said. This process erodes our historic denial thereby allowing the compassionate and immensely relieving insights to become accessible.

Edmundo Duran

Thank you very much, for all this wonderful information about us humans, I hope we all could have the opportunity to read this book and grow intellectually to make this world better, for sure will take some generations to mature all this knowledge and understanding, and I think the way to achieve this goal, will be educating with love and understanding to all the children of the world, then and only then the human race will be at peace with ourself and the others human, lives and nature.

Tim

I agree with what you say and it could be done with next generation

WTM Admin

It will certainly happen quickly once the world catches on! To quote Jeremy from Part 4 of this interview: “the good news, and this is very important, is that while it will take a number of generations to heal all the upset in us humans, everyone can immediately live free of their upset…In fact, to continue using the old artificial defences of retaliation, denial and the search for relieving power, fame, fortune and glory when our fundamental goodness has been established is not only clearly pointless but also unnecessarily destructive of ourselves, everyone around us and our planet. That way of living is now completely obsoleted, finished with.”

Chris Hennings

As soon as I seen this I was compelled to see it all the way. What it is I had to see all about what you had to say and I’m a better person for it 💯.!!! I’m going to show as this to as many people I can.!!!!!! It gave me hope for all of us!!!

Daniel

Wonderful interview, however leaves me with some questions that I definitely will be thinking about, how would one explain evolution and progress, competition, ect. A baby taking from another, the loser in a race or competition will most often show acceptance of a loss but inside his mind I’m sure he has thoughts of revenge and regret, if everyone lives the life of love and peace then where does competition go? We can’t all be the same and think the same, we need differences in order to advance, I often think of our native people who wanted to live a peaceful loving life, praying to their gods, no guns , no violence then along comes the white man, full of ambition , ideas for advancing ect, and here are the natives who are simply in the way and pretty much eliminated- the ideology of full peace and love throughout the world would need for everyone to be equal and would result in one world

WTM Admin

Hi Daniel, thanks for your comments. What is important to understand is that this isn’t an “ideology“ of ”peace and love”; it is a biological explanation of the source of the psychosis that gives rise to humanity’s competitive, aggressive behaviour. And because it is a psychosis, it can be healed with understanding, which is what brings about a “life of love and peace”, not an “ideology”. Basically, through explaining the very good reason why our intellect had to defy our instincts, all our defensive behaviours (our anger, egocentricity and alienation) are now redundant; they can stop. This understanding has been the goal of all our progress, all our advances – we needed to keep progressing the corrupting search for knowledge until we found the understanding that exonerated us, which is what the instinct vs intellect explanation is. And so now we have found that understanding, our concept of ‘progress’ will completely change; it will now come off a selfless basis.

Gregory Schulte

Totally clear/understandable truthful explication

Tessie Arsona

I was amazed..when I saw this episode..it makes me calm and learn more. I am happy to share this to my close friend who is suffering from depression. Thanks to Jeremy Griffith.

WTM Admin

Thank you for your comment and your interest, Tessie. Explanation of the human condition is endlessly fascinating but it introduces an entirely new framework of knowledge, a massive paradigm shift in how we view humans, which takes time to absorb. This is extremely exciting but also necessarily extremely confronting of all the psychological upset and denial that the human condition has caused, to varying degrees, in humans. We wanted to mention this because, as is summarised in our FAQ 1.19, this can be very confronting and destabilising on a personal level if people overly study it or rush into it, so that is something everyone should be mindful of but especially those who suffer from depression. What we suggest people find so significant and comforting about this explanation of the human condition is we no longer have to be burdened by the fundamental question of whether we are good or bad because our core goodness as individuals and as a species has been biologically established. We can know our psychological upset was the price all humans had to pay for searching for knowledge and that the human story presents the greatest, most heroic story ever told. So we can now treat ourselves with great compassion and love and we don’t have to overly confront the upset within us, as the above FAQ also explains.     We hope you pursue your interest by visiting the WTM homepage where you’ll find a guide to learning more, and if you are a Facebook user, we encourage you to join our Facebook group. It is a thriving community where everyone is learning about the human condition and sharing in the excitement of the genuinely new world that this understanding brings.

Kevin

Wow!! This is super amazing insights to articulate. Thank you so much this interview is so fundamental.

Ydrian Angelo

While watching the interview I was filled with excitement. I’ve been studying Carl Gustav Jung’s theory on shadows and individuation, the idea of enlightenment, kenosis, higher level of consciousness, nirvana, and they all require one thing before attaining that state and it is confronting our shadow (human condition) in order for our ego to die which leaves room for only love, happiness, kindness, growth, empathy, etc, and by living out these qualities and getting rid of the idea of competition, control and power this introduces a new idea of cooperation where everyone can be in a healthy and positive pursuit of knowledge which will not only improve our lives but for those we love and everyone around us and our home the planet earth for the future generations. With enough knowledge and inner work we can’t be kept ignorant any longer. The unfair system that runs this world will collapse and this will be the death of the collective ego and a new dawn of peace for mankind will rise. It’s only a matter of time and this gives me a great sense of excitement. I appreciate all the hard work you are doing please keep it up as our world needs it and I’ll be here to support in any way I can along the way. Thank you so much! 🙏🙏🙏

WTM Admin

We really appreciate your interest and support, Ydrian.     We recommend reading FAQ 1.47 “How does Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition differ from the theories of Freud or Jung?”, as it explains how Jeremy’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition varies with Jung’s work. But essentially, the only way humans could, as Jung said, ‘own our own shadow’ was to ameliorate the guilt we, our conscious thinking mind, feels for having corrupted our all-loving instinctive self or soul, and that could only be achieved by explaining why we had to endure becoming angry, egocentric and alienated—why our corrupted human condition was actually a heroic and loveable condition rather than a bad, ‘evil’, ‘sinful’ condition. Answering this question of questions, lifting the ‘great burden of guilt’ from the human race, required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents. Which is why Professor Harry Prosen, a former President of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, said, ‘I have no doubt this biological explanation of the human condition is the holy grail of insight we have sought for the psychological rehabilitation of the human race.’     We also encourage you to visit the WTM’s homepage where you will find a guide to learning more, which includes registering to be notified of our free, interactive presentations with Jeremy Griffith and others about this immensely relieving understanding, and joining our Facebook Group, as we think you will find the discussion taking place there fascinating.

Ilda Pereira

I did, I understood and thank you. UNFORTUNATELY, not enough people does. Ilda Pereira.

WTM Admin

Hi Ilda, as Jeremy explains in chapter 9.9 of his book FREEDOM: “Although this new world for humans, which the World Transformation Movement has been established to facilitate, will, as has been stated, have a slow beginning because humans initially find it difficult even taking in or ‘hearing’ discussion about the human condition, once the WTM is discovered, word of it and what it offers every human and the world will spread like wildfire.’” And so even though we haven’t yet reached the tipping point we are well on our way as you can see from the excitement and relief in our daily ecstatic responses to THE Interview! Also, on our homepage, you can see the rapidly growing appreciation and support for Jeremy’s work with outstanding commendations from thought leaders and WTM Centres all over the world!

Peter Williams

There is also a case to be made for the possibility of human male concern for familial and tribal safety. That this emanates from a mother - supplied slip of DNA

WTM Admin

Hi Peter, as Jeremy explains in Part 3 of THE Interview, the way that maternalism gave rise to selfless behaviour in males was through inadvertently indocrinating them in selfless behaviour. The reason that a genetic mutation or ‘supplied slip of DNA’ can not give rise to selflessness is because genes normally can’t select for unconditionally selfless, fully cooperative traits, simply because such traits tend to be self-eliminating and so normally can’t become established in a species. The ‘trick’ with love-indoctrination was that maternalism was a selfish trait and so it could be genetically reinforced, but it had this wonderful side-effect, which was to train offspring in acting selflessly. Once the process was producing enough selfless individuals, these individuals would no longer lose mating opportunities to selfish individuals. You may be intersted in reading more about the love-indoctrination process in Freedom Essay 21.

Richard

All of the books he mentioned I have read or have been reading so it all ties in with what he is suggesting. Kudos to you.

WTM Admin

Richard, you might be interested in Freedom Essay 53, in which evidence from some of history’s most profound thinkers is provided for the three fundamental elements involved in the explanation of the human condition: that our conscious mind caused our upset state to emerge; that the human condition is a psychological state, not an instinctive one; and that our species’ original instinctive orientation was to living in a psychosis-free, peaceful and harmonious state of cooperation, love and selflessness.

Will Searant

I don’t feel so alone in this world now. My fears as a child have been vindicated.

WTM Admin

Thanks for your heartfelt comment Will. Yes, with understanding of the human condition now found, everyone can ‘come in from the cold’ as it were. With the defence for our psychologically upset state found, we can now afford to be honest about the true alienated state of the world; and this is the world that children, in their unresigned state, can see all too clearly. As Jeremy says at the end of THE Interview, “finding understanding of the human condition brings to an end the insecure, upset, artificial-reinforcement-dependent angry, egocentric and alienated world. A new human-condition-resolved, cooperative, selfless and loving world now emerges. Light comes streaming into the dark cave-like world of denial that we have been living in, and it will all be like waking up from a nightmare!”

Mandi

Wow just wow! Definitely gonna get my hands on this book so I can learn more! Bless you for your bravery and sharing your findings

Mansel presnell

The interview identifies and explains the problem well, but it is light on for how the situation can be fixed. For example it does not address the exploding population concern. The book 'Balance on Nature’s Commons provides another perspective while hinting at the actions needed to reverse the situation

WTM Admin

Hi Mansel, Jeremy Griffith’s work explains that issues such as overpopulation — and related issues like environmental destruction and resource depletion — are merely symptoms of a deeper problem and will not fundamentally change at all until we solve this dilemma of the human condition, and bring self-understanding to the human situation. We recommend reading FAQ 1.6 ‘Why does understanding of the human condition solve everything?'.

Patricia

Thank you so much for sharing your insights. Very interesting and enlightening.

Tania Petrini

I hear and more importantly feel this IS TRUTH. Thank you for sharing your research and insightful conclusion.

Raenner

Definitely a paradigm shift from the way we have all been taught throughout the World about the ‘human condition’ and its troubled and turbulent origins. This has definitely been an example of a self-fulfilling prophesy which must change if we humans are to survive as a successful species addressing all the important things challenging our existence on this planet.

MelanieSpence

Fascinating

Ki McGraw

I am a doctor of alternative holistic counseling, and yoga teacher for decades. I love this and align with it completely. I did send it to a client and student who completely rejected it. interesting…

WTM Admin

Yes, Ki, unlike ‘new age’ practices such as yoga, this understanding confronts the human condition head on, and because historically we haven’t been able to explain our corrupted condition, most people run a mile when the subject comes up. That is, until they realise that Jeremy Griffith has actually solved the human condition by explaining how, despite all appearances to the contrary, we angry, egocentric and alienated humans are actually good! And so perseverance is necessary until people realise that this once forbidden realm has now been made safe. You might be interested in FAQ 1.16, which is about this ‘deaf effect’.

Bobby

Are you suggesting we can use our Consciousness truth to become peaceful and loving like bonobo apes. This is an oxymoron. By understanding both good and evil through consciousness, we choose good over evil. This is not natural, it is a universal fight to stand for goodness and practice goodness as opposed to embracing evil and evil deeds. Create good environments, naurture good actions, make better humans.

WTM Admin

We are suggesting that by solving the core insecurity that has been driving our angry, egocentric and alienated behaviour, that divisive behaviour will subside. In other words, through finding the good reason that we had to defy our instincts, all our defensive behaviours (our anger, egocentricity and alienation) are now redundant, allowing us to return to a loving state. However, unlike in our distant past, and unlike bonobos now, we will be peaceful and loving with conscious understanding of why that state is meaningful.

Michelle Wallace

I’m am speechless with awe and am deeply moved by Jeremy Griffith’s undeniable findings! It is the answer to the human condition, giving meaning and understanding to our existence THANK YOU 🙏

Sara Boggioni

Jeremy Griffith!!!!! What an Inspiration 😍 I have finally found my people ❤️ How do I get more people to understand this!? This interview speaks to me in volumes most will probably never comprehend... Alot of people are going to pushback against this instead of just embracing the truth. You are Brilliant! Thank you so much!!! I have alot more words but my brain is just flooded with....excitement!????!!! Probably a wayyyy better word than that.... XoX 🥰 Also thank you for the overwhelming amount of resources!!!!!! And for making it FREE

WTM Admin

Go Sara!! We are just as lucky as you are – and just as excited!!!! – to have found this understanding. Just make sure you join our Facebook Group where you will find a home for all your questions and excitement.

Harvey E Atkins

What is not being addressed here and what Socrates didn’t get is that even when people know the truth it doesn’t mean they will follow it or be healed or transformed. Like with the 12 step program for an alcoholic to change the need to hit the wall or have an epiphany and be ready to release their “trapped emotions” etc.

WTM Admin

Thanks for your comment Harvey. We suggest that the more you digest this understanding, the more you will see that it applies to all humans, and that all humans will want to embrace the transformation that it makes available. At last we can understand we have been driven by a deep insecurity about our fundamental goodness or worth and so now that our goodness is biologically established we no longer have to behave insecurely and selfishly and can legitimately return to a selfless way of living. ‘Legitimately’ because at last we have the first principle-based science which liberates us to be honest about our conflicted upset state instead of denying or transcending it. This is the rapidly transforming practical effect of being able to understand the human condition which is fully explained and illustrated on our Transformation page. Also FAQs 1.4 to 1.6 explain the far-reaching application of this information and Freedom Essay 15 is all about ‘How our lives can be immediately transformed’.

Michael J Lewis

Excellent Interview and wonderful news!

Lori

Great interview, I became fascinated with Bonobo society and culture years ago after reading a Robin Cook novel about medical research and its possible consequences. So the discussion about our connection with Bonobos was relevant to what I have come to believe about our society. What I wasn’t able to understand were the comments about the need to destroy the “Left” in order to reach any state of cooperation among humanity. I would equate love, nurturing and cooperation in the Left column, not the Right. Perhaps I missed something but it will be hard to convince me otherwise.

WTM Admin

It does take some time to get your head around the paradox of the human condition, and in particular, how it applies to politics. We recommend Jeremy Griffith’s book, Death by Dogma, which is freely available here on our homepage. In it Jeremy emphasises that while it is easy to identify with the ideal of everyone being cooperative and loving, the whole objective of the human journey was to find understanding of why humans have not been cooperative and loving and instead so divisively competitive and aggressive. That is the great riddle of the human condition that had to be explained. Now at last we can understand why we humans have been competitive, aggressive and selfish, and, most wonderfully of all, by revealing that reason, the need for that divisive behaviour is ended. Which brings us to the final paradox of the human condition: through the right wing upholding the selfishness needed to persevere with the search for knowledge, we all now become left-wing (as it were, although the truth is that the whole ugly business of politics is now brought to a close).     Also, given your interest in bonobos, chapter 5 of Jeremy Griffith’s book FREEDOM further evidences what is explained in Part 3 of THE Interview about how cooperative and loving bonobos are and how bonobos demonstrate the nurturing based love-indoctrination process that created our cooperative instincts.

john Graham

“The psyche is the greatest of all cosmic wonders and the ”sine qua non“ of the world as an object. It is in the highest degree odd that Western man, with but very few - and ever fewer - exceptions, apparently pays so little regard to this fact.” – Carl Gustav Jung

WTM Admin

Yes, Jung was absolutely correct in identifying the importance of gaining understanding of our ‘psyche’; he was forever saying that ‘wholeness for humans depends on the ability to own their own shadow’. What is presented here, with Jeremy Griffith’s redeeming ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition, is what – finally – gives us the ability to own our own shadow. You might be interested in FAQ 1.47 which explains that because he was not able to recognise that we humans have a loving and cooperative past, Jung was not able to explain the human condition.

Dom P

Amazing!! Now we must wake up and implement!!

Anna

This is patriarchal view not matriarchal

WTM Admin

Thank you for comment Anna but we disagree. The female perspective is certainly not missing from Jeremy Griffith’s treatise and both the male and female contribution to the human journey are fully explained and equally acknowledged. In fact matriarchy is finally given the recognition and honour it deserves with Jeremy’s explanation of how it was women’s maternal love that gave us our moral soul and created humanity no less! (This love-indoctrination process is discussed more in our reply to Barry below.) Astonishingly with Jeremy’s biological explanation of the human condition we can at last understand and reconcile the huge gulf that has existed between men and women. We can also understand why men especially, but also women, suffer from the human condition and all it’s related behaviours including selfishness and egocentricity, but that ALL HUMANS ARE EQUALLY GOOD and equally heroic! See molecular biologist Dr Anna Fitzgerald’s video commendation about how this explanation is the real liberation of women and our FAQ 8.1 ‘How does this reconcile men and women’.

Antonis

Excellent !!

Barry L. McCarter

I wonder how the presence and subsequent avoidance of predation impact the nurturing Benobo culture. And it’s (predation) integration with our current state.

WTM Admin

Hi Barry, ideal nursery conditions were required for the establishment of the love-indoctrination process, which included the absence of predation. Jeremy Griffith discusses this process in THE Interview and refers the audience to his Freedom Essay 21 and chapter 5 of his definitive book FREEDOM which explain it more fully. Jeremy explains in chapter 5:8 of FREEDOM, “any difficulty or breakdown in the nurturing process and you are invariably ‘swept back downstream’ once more to the old competitive, selfish, each-for-his-own, opportunistic, ‘animal condition’ situation. So while love-indoctrination could allow unconditionally selfless behaviour to emerge in our ape ancestors, it was a very difficult, and also a very slow, process to both get underway and maintain.”     Predation (or any disruption to their normal peaceful environment) after love-indoctrination had been established has a different effect. Both humans and bonobos now instinctively expect to be nurtured with unconditional love during infancy, and any disruption (such as predation) that prevented an infant receiving that love would cause them to experience extreme psychological anxiety. You can read about psychiatrist Professor Harry Prosen’s treatment of an emotionally disturbed bonobo (Brian) in chapter 5:13 of FREEDOM.

Tom Holmes

If we are to become a responsible, permanent intellectual species, successful in managing ourselves and our amazingly beautiful gift of a home planet, we must elevate ourselves: NOW! This is our perhaps only chance! 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏾🤷‍♀️

Tom Holmes

Hopefully we will heed this warning & change to finally become the intellectual species we are meant to be?

WTM Admin

Thanks for your comments Tom and we are on the edge of self-discovery or self-destruction. What takes a little time to absorb is we can now understand that having to become psychologically upset and carry the burden of guilt we felt for having to corrupt our amazingly beautiful soul and planet was the responsible thing to do while we continued the search for knowledge. What is so extraordinary about Jeremy’s biological treatise is that it actually defends the conscious mind for becoming so alienated from our loving instinctive self. That is the great paradox of the human condition – we humans had to defy our instincts and become corrupted in self in order to find understanding of the human condition. Now with that found we can at last reconcile our divides selves and become the sound self-managers you describe, see FAQ 4.3.

Zora Bujaroska

WE blame ourselves, WE - the conscious US, the hardest thing ever. But it’s not me that is unworthy, right? Par. 155 I read the book FREEDOM from cover to cover, and I am reading it again.

WTM Admin

Absolutely right Zora! As Jeremy writes in paragraph 155 of FREEDOM “It is our conscious mind that is uncertain of its worthiness, that suspects that it might be to blame for our species’ present seemingly highly imperfect, even ‘fallen’ or corrupted, competitive, aggressive and selfish condition”, and as distinguished psychiatrist Professor Harry Prosen wrote in his Introduction to FREEDOM: “What Griffith is presenting is understanding of the source insecurity that the whole human race suffers from for having destroyed our species’ innocent soul. It is a universal self-blame that his understanding at last provides healing insight into. All human behavior is saturated with that universal insecure, depressing state and resulting anger, egocentricity and alienation that has developed from it, but we finally have the compassionate foundation insight needed to dismantle all that ‘upset’/psychosis.” Jeremy’s new presentation The Great Guilt gives an astonishingly interesting and important description of The Great Burden Of Guilt, or as you say “the hardest thing ever”, that has finally been lifted from the human race—click here to start watching!

BOBYNET 2023 in Québec Canada

I would like a French version of your book, I’m ready to pay for this translation. PDF book is preferred. Our planet is an exception but humanity is not. The problem is power and money.

WTM Admin

Hi Bobynet, on our Translations page you can freely access all the publications that have been translated into French (including as a PDF)! FREEDOM is still in development but THE Interview, Transform Your Life And Save The World, Death by Dogma, and numerous Freedom Essays are available. You can also watch all the videos on our website, using the closed captions or subtitles function in any language (just click on the ‘cc’ icon at the bottom of the video player/window). You might also be interested in visiting the websites of WTM Centres in Nice and Switzerland as their websites are also provided in French. The work of the WTM is a scientific pursuit and was not created for profit, so all of our information and materials (including books, videos and podcasts) are provided absolutely free of charge (no email required).     What is so extraordinary about this breakthrough is we can now understand the reason why people seek power and fortune and see that it is a symptom of our fundamental insecurity caused by the human condition rather than the cause of the problem. You might find these two FAQs helpful: FAQ 1.6 ‘Why does understanding of the human condition solve everything?’ and FAQ 1.40 ‘How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’.

Tiamiyu Bello

The world has not remained static. Thank God for this deep seated knowledge of the human condition.

You are a masterpiece....I finally see what’s going on with some humans

Nicholas Ridgway

We are aware of our Christian conscienceness and can live in harmony if we wanted to its our choice thats the whole point isn’t it?

WTM Admin

Yes Nicholas we have been aware of Christian, and other religion’s “conscienceness”, to live in harmony, but the question screaming to be answered is since this is the case why would we choose to behave in the completely opposite way? This is the point or question of the human condition and to answer it we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when these universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. This required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work and that is the great biological breakthrough biologist Jeremy Griffith presents. It couldn’t be more significant because at last we can explain away the guilt and shame we carried for not “choosing to live in harmony”—for living at odds with our selfless moral conscience. You may find these FAQs helpful: FAQ 1.5 ‘Why is understanding the human condition important to my life?’ and FAQ 1.26 What is soul, have we all got one, has it been repressed, and if so, how do we rehabilitate it?

Eric Creay

I’m completely broken I need this book please

WTM Admin

Hi Eric, as is explained in this interview (and in Jeremy Griffith’s definitive book FREEDOM) the human condition has caused so much pain and suffering it has psychologically broken us but what is so significant about this explanation is that we no longer have to be burdened by the fundamental question of whether we are good or bad because our core goodness as individuals and as a species has been biologically established. We can understand humans’ psychological upset was the price humans had to pay for searching for knowledge and that the human story presents the greatest, most heroic story ever told. We can at last understand the source of our upset and bring great compassion and kindness to ourselves and others and, most importantly, we don’t have to overly confront the upset within us — see FAQ 1.19 ‘A caution about the danger of over-exposure / Advice for people with mental health issues’. This FAQ explains that everyone, but especially if anyone suffers with mental health issues, need to responsibly manage their exposure to this very confronting information. It also importantly urges people who struggle with mental health issues to seek the support and assistance of professional counsellors and points out that any information we do provide should not be used as, or as a substitute for, professional counselling. (All of Jeremy’s books, including the booklet version of THE Interview, are freely available on our homepage.)

That was absolutely incredible and enlightening!! Thank you

Roy

I thought it was a great interview. It explains a lot about humanity. However I do not see how things will ever change. I don’t think the government will collapse. And people will start sleeping on the green grass. We have evolved in one way for more comfort. That comfort turns into greed. And greed and power turns into war. how was it humanly possible to find peace and love once again ? It’s gotten so bad, that men and women can’t even get along anymore. Women are fighting for equal power and money. Everything has become a competition. I believe this gentleman has figured out why everybody is the way they are. But the question is how do we take such a corrupt government. That wants all the power and money. And get back to the reality to help my neighbour? I feel even our own kids have no respect for their parents anymore. While the parents have supplied everything for their children from an iPhone at 10 years old. If you call your own children to see how they’re doing. You might get a call back two weeks later. Meanwhile their friend calls that is no help to them at all. And they will call them back right away. I would love to hear solutions to these problems. You can tell a criminal please give the $500 back to the fellow in the 7-Eleven and I will give you $600. And a job. But that guy will go back and steal again. I would love to hear back what the solutions are so we can start working on them ASAP.

WTM Admin

It is wonderful the fundamental argument is resonating with you Roy and your question is a fair one because the selfishness, alienation and corruption in the world is so immense. However, if we can explain and address the source of the problem we can solve it, and that is exactly what we suggest Jeremy Griffith has done. Also explanation of the human condition does produce a huge paradigm shift in our thinking so it takes a little while to see how it all works. What is so extraordinary about this breakthrough is we can now understand the fundamental reason why people want more than they need; we can now understand the source of greed and competition and the need for power. When the conscious mind went in search of knowledge a conflict between our instinct and intellect broke out, leading to an undeserved sense of guilt and insecurity that caused us to become psychologically defensive, angry, alienated and egocentric, the upset state we refer to as the human condition—a state we sought to alleviate through a competitive, selfish and aggressive bid for the reinforcement we could gain from winning power, fame, fortune and glory. But now that we can explain and understand this conflict and the guilt it produced, all those insecure, defensive behaviours are obsoleted, brought to an end, and we free ourselves from the human condition. We suggest these two FAQs will help as you digest this further.  FAQ 1.6 ‘Why does understanding of the human condition solve everything?’ and FAQ 1.40 ‘Aren’t the problems of the world too overwhelming to ever be fixed? / Isn’t it too late to save the world? / How can you hope to transform the world? — In particular, how are you going to change the behaviour of the rich and powerful? / How are you going to reach the bastions of power? / Won’t the greedy and power-hungry simply ignore this?’.

L Reinhardt

I respectfully disagree totally. The answers to who we are, why we are here and where we are going are all answered in the Bible. Read the Bible and open yourself up to Jesus Christ and His Truth and you’ll have your eyes opened to the human condition and the remedy. And it’s all free… just humble yourself and believe our God. Father, Son, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.God bless you all!

WTM Admin

Thank you for your thoughts. We certainly respect people’s religious views but, for the readers of this comment, it is important to mention that Jeremy Griffith’s work doesn’t contradict a belief in God or Christianity. It simply brings biological understanding to all those pre-scientific concepts. People may like to explore our FAQs about religion, in particular FAQ 6.2 ‘What is God’ and FAQ 6.3 ‘Does this undermine religion/God’. Excellent info, reasons why men became egotistic n positive message man can heal himself.

Gail Hullinger

I’m left with so many questions and I’m not quite grasping the entire concept. I like Adam the bird analogy and started to grasp it then but got lost again. I’m just not sure how this knowledge can change the world if we truly don’t grasp it in it’s entirety. My understanding so far is that as we genetically evolved are brains became more neuroligically advanced and we started thinking for ourselves instead of instinctly and that made us feel guilt? My problem with some of this is the biblical Adam and eve part. I just wish religion would have never been invented because I believe that is where our guilt comes from. 🤷🏽‍♀️This explanation sounds a lot like religious biblical terms. It’s throwing me a little. So with the Bible being written all of this was already well known but someone turned it into a story having to do with religion as we know it today?? Uuuggghhhh

WTM Admin

Hi Gail. We hope you persevere. The subject of the human condition has historically been completely off-limits and so our minds do initially struggle to take in the information, but with a little bit of perseverence, it does all become clear. For example with regard to ‘guilt, you are almost there. Basically, when the conscious mind started experimenting with self management, our instincts ‘criticised’ that behaviour because it deviated from their naturally selected orientations; and our mind, unable to explain why we had experiment with these non-instinctive behaviours, felt insecure in the face of the criticism from our instincts. We felt ‘guilty’. And then we became defensive and retaliatory towards our instincts, which made us feel in more guilty.     With regard to religion, what you realise as you absorb this, is that religion has had an important role to play in humanity’s journey, which was to be a home for the ideals as humanity necessarily become more and more corrupted by the search for knoweldge. So it hasn’t been the source of our guilt, but by reminding us of ideal behaviour, it certainly could add to our guilt. And yes, the instinct vs intellect elements that created the human condition were known, see for example Moses story of Adam and Eve taking the apple, but it was all in pre-scientific terms. But to liberate ourselves from the human condition we needed scientific understanding of why we were right to search for knowledge / eat the apple, because only that could end the guilt and liberate from the human condition. That is what is unique about what Jeremy has done, and why his work is such a massive breakthrough.

I love your work. New era of thinking!

Thoughtful article and worth the reading!!

Bonnie

I am so proud of all of you, and all those that are willing to challenge the mental doctrines that have kept them unhappy. Kindness. Unconditional love. Gentle touch. Soft kind eyes. Connection. Disarmed, the naked human needs to be seen, heard, loved, accepted are met. The human is able to exist and thrive, with loving grace. Thank you all, humble with gratitude for this gift to our species.

WTM Admin

Thank you for your support Bonnie. At last we can finally confront and biologically explain why we haven’t been about to “exist and thrive, with loving grace”, see FAQ 1.3 and also FAQ 6.5 which stresses this huge difference between Jeremy Griffith’s work and the new age movement.

Outstanding indeed. It helps you understand why some world leaders behave the way they do.

Tim Danbrook

Absolutely interested. Currently reviewing some Hindu stories regarding their state of the human condition which i believe is closer than most to proper solutions for living. This concept is for me pretty simple and is exactly right. I haven’t read it all yet. Looking at a number of other philosophical and historical social literature to gain a perspective to consider this from. ive enjoyed what ive heard and a intrigued by the Bonobo Apes referance’s and the comparisons to the developed concious mind. I look forward to getting more into it once i feel im ready. I was curious about the relationship between your solution and properly raising children as a step back to right thinking. No mater how you achieve the goal raising children will have to play a huge part.

WTM Admin

Thanks Tim. Yes, there is a feast of knowledge and understanding here. With regard to Hinduism, while religions contain all manner of truths about human life, it is all from a pre-scientific view. Ultimately we needed to find the scientific explanation for why when the universal ideals are to be loving, cooperative and selfless are we so angry, competitive and selfish. Answering this question required finding the clarifying difference between the way the intellect and instincts work, and that is the great biological breakthrough Jeremy presents in THE Interview and his book FREEDOM. We suggest FAQ 1.13 ‘Is this original or new?’ which explains the unique significance of Jeremy Griffith’s work.

AMAZING THANKS

David O

Please what is the book called.

WTM Admin

Hi David, the book that THE Interview is centred around is Jeremy Griffith’s definitive treatise on the human condition, FREEDOM: The End Of The Human Condition, which is available for free here on our homepage to read online or download. (You can also download the free Kindle version from Amazon, otherwise you can purchase hard copies from Amazon or other good bookstores.)

Josephine Wymer

The human spiritual side also fascinating – I’d like to know and understand more. please accept my blessings

WTM Admin

Thanks Josephine. We suggest that the more you digest this scientific explanation of our condition, the more you will see that it actually encompasses the ‘spiritual’ dimension of life.

Margaret Hairsine

I appreciate the sincerity of this work, but it’s emphasis forgets the suffering of VICTIMS, often women, who are ‘blamed’ for this upset state in men. Two old songs come to mind which demonstrate most people’s acceptance of the fact that we know we all have faults: Alan Jackson’s Living on Love - “Love can walk through fire without blinking” and by Harry Warren/Al Dublin, I’ll String Along with You - “The human little faults you do have, just make me love you more”. But when things go badly wrong, understanding does not take away the suffering of wives left to ‘nurture’ children alone, or families grieving the loss of a child, or women left with traumas due to horrendous abuses by “poor, upset heroes” who have acted out. It is the VICTIMS who are the real heroes, bravely carrying on, often with little support or recognition. You are right, it will take Generations to heal that!

WTM Admin

Thank you for your heartfelt comment Margaret. Yes, the plight of women and victims everywhere has been unimaginably terrible, however we suggest that it is not right to say that Jeremy’s work forgets the suffering of victims, particularly women. For example, the following passage from chapter 8:11B of Jeremy’s definitive book FREEDOM explains the horror of the situation: “Having to inspire love when they were no longer loving or innocent, and attempt to nurture a new generation—all the while dominated by men who couldn’t explain why they were dominating, what they were actually doing or why they were so upset and angry—was, in truth, more than extremely difficult, it was an altogether impossible task, and yet women have done it for 2 million years. Indeed, it is because of women’s phenomenally courageous support that men, when civilised, treat them with such chivalry and deference. Men have had an impossible fight on their hands, but at least they had the advantage of intuitively understanding that battle. To be a victim of a victim, as women have been, is an insufferable situation, because while a primary victim knows what the primary source offence is, a victim of a victim does not.”     Ultimately, we had to end the underlying insecurity that was driving all the destructive behaviour, which is exactly what Jeremy’s explanation of the human condition in THE Interview does. And because this biological treatise establishes all humans are equally good, worthwhile, meaningful and wonderful regardless of gender, age, religion, etc. See biologist Dr Anna Fitzgerald’s video commendation about how this explanation is the real liberation of women and also FAQ 8.1 ‘How does this reconcile the sexes’.

Daniel Casale

I think the premise is 100 percent right!

THE interview saved me from so much potential pain

Nehat Koçinaj DSc

Dear, Thank you for the valuable work you have done and getting to public. Impressive and unique point of view from the author. Really highly appreciate 🙏.

Kelly Scott

I understand what you are saying. And I don’t not agree. But I’m a Believer in Christ and you used the story of The Fall of the Garden of Eden and what happened intellectually with Adam and Eve and the way they gained mental awareness. Does not to me negate that there is a Creator. That gave us this garden and this awareness. what do you say?

WTM Admin

Jeremy Griffith’s explanation of the human condition brings biological understanding to religious accounts of our condition and at last reconciles science and religion. For instance, as you mention, THE Interview explains the story of Adam and Eve is a pre-scientific metaphor for the emergence of consciousness and its clash with our pre-established, cooperative loving instincts, resulting in humans becoming psychologically upset or ‘sinful’ or ‘evil’. However, significantly we can now understand, from scientific first principles, that ‘Adam and Eve’ were ‘good’ to search for knowledge, not bad or ‘evil’; we humans are actually the absolute heroes of the whole story!     Additionally, it can now be explained scientifically that we humans once lived in a pre-human-condition-afflicted state of original innocence where we were perfectly instinctively orientated to the cooperative, selfless, loving, ‘Godly’ ideals of life; ‘God’ being explained in as being the integrative meaning of life (see FAQ 6.2). And so, rather than threatening religions, what people discover is it is the fulfilment of a time that all the great prophets looked forward to when we could actually explain ourselves. Our additional FAQs about religion may also be of interest.

Barbara Streeter

Thank you. I pray this stops human suffering. Our lives are hard enough I have learned the hard way it’s impossible to help others. I wish for change.

WTM Admin

Thanks for your comment, Barbara. The more you digest this understanding, we suggest the more you will see how it brings profound peace to your and everyone’s situation. What is so important about Jeremy Griffith’s ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of the human condition is that it finally explains the real reason for why humans’ selfish, competitive and destructive behaviour became an unavoidable, indeed necessary, part of human life. And with our goodness biologically established, we no longer need to be preoccupied with proving our worth. Solving the human condition solves all the confusion, frustration and suffering in human life at its source so we can actually stop the angry destruction of ourselves, each other and the planet and save the world. You may be interested in FAQ 1.34, in which the highly respected psychiatrist Professor Harry Prosen, a former President of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, wrote: “the beauty of Griffith’s treatise is that the healing starts at the macro level of the universal human condition; the healing of the shame and blame that the whole human race has suffered from…It brings the greater context and love to all human psychosis and suffering, and then, from under the umbrella of that safe position, everyone can gradually work inwards to their particular experience of all the imperfections in human life that have now, finally, been made sense of.”
